BMI under 27 - Off Label/less to lose

ritala · 29/03/2026 12:17

I am mid 40’s and just can’t lose the weight like I used to. I’m fed up of losing and gaming the same two pounds. I’m about a stone and a half more than my happy weight (where I would be approx bmi 23).

I have tried to find a thread for people who have been approved ‘off label’ Wegovy or Mounjaro with less to lose but couldn’t find one, so thought I’d start here. I have a BMI higher than 25 but less than 27 with a couple extra health conditions. Hoping to start after Easter. I’d like to stay with a very low dose if possible. Half a pound a week loss would be good for me. I really want to avoided side effects.

Anyone who is in a similar boat and wants to share experiences or ask questions, please join! X

I just feel really yuk on my 0.375 dose but I am having really good losses. I’m only 10lbs off my goal now

kljdhs877 · 17/04/2026 13:48

@ritala I stock up when I’m in the US but there are online pharmacies that sell them as you can’t get them over the counter int he UK, I use Natrol

kljdhs877 · 17/04/2026 13:51

I am 3lb from my main target, 6lb from the ‘ideal’ target, and most importantly 3 weeks from my big holiday! Might just give 5mg a go next week lol.

Next week I’m going to try switching from Voy to Dr Swift, bit anxious they won’t accept having not stated from a high BMI, but I will report back, it would save me £80 a month and as I am looking to microdose to maintain long term I’d really like to find a more affordable supplier, although Voy have been great.

Klaap · 17/04/2026 14:29

My 10lb to goal is final I will never go lower than that, I will never maintain under 10st! My weight often wants to sit at 10st 7 which is in the healthy range for me anyway and is fine. I’m now 10st 10 which was one of my old ancient goals from way back when I first started but having been closer to 10st last year I would prefer to try get back there

ComeTheFcukOnBridget · 17/04/2026 15:50

So I've ordered from Voy off the back of this thread, as before reading this, had no idea that you could get it officially with lower BMIs without diddling some numbers which I wasn't keen to do. My BMI is 27 and I have no contributing health conditions, and my prescription was approved in about 4 hours! Didn't need to speak to a doc either. Went for the 0.5 Wegovy as I'm weirdly terrified of it working too well and too quickly. So aiming for a slow and steady approach. Thanks for sharing the info, excited to join the club!

Yes please let us know, keen to do the same!

Just wanted to say that I easily put on jeans this morning that I have not fit comfortably into for four years! 😁 and luckily bootcut is coming back in.

Hi - can I please join you?
I'm just about to sign up with Voy, using a BlueLightCard discount.

Just out of interest - those who have just started, did you just sign up for a month, or did you go for a longer commitment?

ritala · 17/04/2026 18:33

Good for you @ComeTheFcukOnBridgetand @IDontKnowWhatYouMean- excited for you both to start your journey!

Oh I didn’t know you can get a discount with your blue light card 🤦‍♀️ maybe I can use it next time! I also have a discount code for Voy if you want to use it. I think I signed up for 6 months.

The discount says £55 on the BLC app, but only £50 has been deducted from my order, which seems to be the standard amount given with lots of online referral codes.

Hello, and welcome! I just signed up for a month as I wanted to make sure I was ok with it - figured I could switch to a plan later if I wanted.

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 17/04/2026 19:21

I'm paid up and in (subject to final approval from Voy)!

Thanks for all the inspiration in this thread - I'm very excited for this.

Now I just need to show some self control this weekend and not go completely mad until the delivery arrives and I can start properly 😂

Thank you! It will come soon for you as well I’m sure. Jeans have always been my bugbear as I am very pear shaped with large thighs and I grew up in the pencil legged eras of the 80s and 90s. Never felt very comfortable in them.

Softpebbles · 17/04/2026 21:10

This is really informative, thank you. Like many of you I am struggling to lose about a stone, I have put it on largely to stress eating and can’t get a grip on it. Combined with the menopause it is really getting me down, especially as I have some special events this year.

My cholesterol is raised so I am debating Voy.

Do you have to keep the pens in the fridge?

I’m sure someone more experienced will know for sure but I don’t think you have to keep them in the fridge, I think they just have to be kept at room temperature (under 30 degrees) and if not in the fridge you have to bin them after 30 days.

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 18/04/2026 11:33

My Voy prescription has been approved 👏

Thanks so much for starting this thread and giving me the impetus to sign up 🤩

lechatnoir · 18/04/2026 12:25

@Softpebbles i’ve just started with Voy (Literally on day 3) & as I travel a lot plus haven’t yet told my husband they have advised not taking it in and out of the fridge but actually to leave it out altogether keep it at room temperature and make sure not to exceed 30 days. I’ve got a referral code if you haven’t got one, let me know and good luck whatever you decide.

happymumday · 18/04/2026 13:50

I'm really happy with a week 1 loss of 1.9kg. I've done jab 2 today and feeling really positive about the week ahead. I was so worried that I'd had a mild allergic reaction to my first injection but over the last few days I've realised it was actually a new shampoo that was causing heat, itching and redness of my face, ears, neck & shoulders 😅.

Today Im trying to do an online food shop for the family and really struggling as I'm just not interested!

ritala · 18/04/2026 14:21

Hi all, happy Saturday! I have just done my second injection BUT I did 1/4 of the starter dose (so I injected 0.06 rather than 0.25). I click counted.

My first week was great from a food suppression POV, a little too good as I was struggling to eat 1209 calories a day and that’s not the way I wanted to do this. I have been reading up on microdosing and would like to explore it and as I had such a strong reaction to the first dose (not really wanting to eat at all + crazy dreams and awful, awful sleep), I knew I had to move down a notch. I’ll see how this week goes and maybe move it up to 0.12 next week. The man thing I want to get a handle on is my sleep. I can’t work full time, commute and run a house whe I’m awake for hours in the middle of the night.

That said, the last two nights I’ve slept quite well. Could it be I’m less anxious or maybe that the meds are wearing off? Who knows.

Thanks to the Shotsy app, I do know I still have 0.12 in my system still from dose 1, so today’s jab will of course increase it, but not by loads. I don’t think I’m ready for another 0.25 in me yet and if I had taken 0.25, I’d have that plus the residual medication from last week. I hope I am making sense!

I have seen an improvement in inflammation and my autoimmune condition, which I’m over the moon about! In just one week I can really see and feel a difference.

Goals this week: Hopefully sleep better, continue with no gastro side effects, keep the food suppression up but still at a point where I can eat and get hungry, mantain a weight loss (I don’t mind if it’s slow), keep eating clean, keep snacking to a minimum (I’ve done well on this), hopefully see improvements with my condition, keep checking in with you guys and keep being positive!!

Wishing you all a great weekend

*1200 calories a day (1209 - what a funny number!)

I also have a £50 Voy referral code if of use.

Franks55 · 18/04/2026 16:32

And I have £50 medexpress.

I started by microdosing (MJ). I went up to 2.5 last week and found I wasn’t eating much over 1000 cals a day (not helped that I was back at work after Easter and so busy). I went back to 1.75 this week.

Can anybody recommend where to buy needles from? Because of microdosing, I have run out of the one supplied.

TheCovetedDuchessRose · 18/04/2026 16:45

I have lost 2.4lb since Monday. I am getting use to not being very hungry and didn’t buy any treats for tonight when in Home Bargains earlier! Normally I get myself a big bag of crisps and a large chocolate bar for a Saturday night. I am replacing my chocolate hit with a protein bar. They are expensive aren’t they?!?
