I have been off since Nov due to health issue - put on 10kg in 4 months - eating drinking like a maniac and not moving - need to restart. Do I need to work up the doses each month again or can I short circuit? Eg 2.5 for 2 weeks? If there is already a thread where all this info already please let me know

11 days since I restarted. I am logging everything and sticking to around 1000 calories a day.

I've lost 4.4lbs in total. It's okay, I am disappointed. Two people I am doing it with irl lost 8lbs (bigger) and 6lbs (smaller) in the first 7 days.

@Zazu44 change your injection sites. I alternate between thigh and stomach.

I bruise very easily due to medication I take. I use the injections from the fridge. I make sure I go gently straight in and not at an angle. I count to ten then remove slowly.

A friend is doing wegoyvy and lost 7lbs in first week and only has a couple of stone to lose while I've around 8 stone to lose. I guess everyone is different.
I'm not very active but definitely trying to improve this especially this time round while my friend is constantly on the go so I've always assumed she had a much better metabolism.
To me as long as it's coming off in happy. I did 4 months on wegoyvy and lost nothing so MJ is definitely for me. I know I can loose weight with SW but I can't maintain it or stick to it consistently so MJ helps me curb cravings and food noise.

I am tracking every single morsel and drink in a notebook. I write it down before I eat, I check it before I go for a snack.

Last time I used My Fitness Pal. I am being a lot more disciplined this time. I am also tracking times I eat. I am kind of going 16.8 intermitten fasting.

It is expensive medication and I need to give myself the best chance. I'm really trying hard.

Keep going CherryViper, it will be worth it

I’m really pleased, I’ve managed to loose 3.5lb this week even with the heat, official weigh in would be Sunday though so fingers crossed the first bit of water weight (my belly) is going! I found the weight I’ve gained has gone back to belly and boobs, I guess the joys of being in meno does that.Hoping everyone has success this week.

Clair45 · 28/05/2026 10:57

It is so hard. I know first time round it just seemed to drop off and lulled me into a false sense of what the drug could do as I hadn't changed much around habits. This time im really trying to look at everything but also if I want a biscuit I'll have one.
I haven't had much suppression this week so think I'll up the clicks this week maybe 45 rather than 42 see if that bit extra helps. Otherwise I'll just be giving myself the full 5mg week after.

HerFifthDecade · 28/05/2026 18:03

i massively upped my exercise , I do classes 3 nights a week, whole body conditioning and gym 2 nights. That helps me massively. It’s snacking in between meals when not on the meds that seems to get me weighing more.i also know I reward myself with sweet treats for getting through day :-( I don’t do that at all on the meds.I also eat the same lunch each day and only calorie controlled meals in the evening, which makes it easier.

CherryViper · 29/05/2026 12:08

Thanks for your encouragement @TimetoReStart

I lost 2.6lbs this week, 5.6 total in 16 days. Meh, albeit that is the most I've lost in a week.

Sicking to around 1000 cals a day. Protein with every meal, 16.8.

I find it helpful to eat the same or similar things. Ready meals are good for tracking calories.

Are you drinking plenty of water? 5.6 in just over two weeks rate will mean a stone in about 6 weeks, try to set small targets, its much more achievable

HappyKatieA · 30/05/2026 14:13

Hello all restarted,
I thought I’d update as I’ve just taken my first jab of 7.5 this week. As I said before, I’m focussing on protein and fruit and veg, but also having a little of what I fancy as I see this as a long term thing.
I got on the scales this morning, I’ve lost a stone, I think this is my 9th week? Some weeks have seen bigger losses, others just pound, but all in the right direction.
I’m feeling so much better, back to where I’d got to last summer. Much healthier and more comfortable.
i hope you all are too?!

I'm drinking a lot of water. A stone in six weeks is okay. I am tracking every single thing I eat and drink.

My aim is 1000 calories per day. Menopause sucks.

Hi all Re-starters. I’ve been away for a couple of weeks so been quiet on here. Wasn’t too bad weight wise, still under 10st so pleased with that. Back onto the injections at around 4mg so hoping to start the downward trend again now. I find I’m really not as strict this time around so losses are defo slower but I’m hoping if I can allow myself some treats but still lose weight, longer term it may be more sustainable for when I come off the jabs again.
Hows everyone doing?

CherryViper · 21/06/2026 17:21

Sounds good.

Lost 9lbs in 5 weeks, coming up on six weeks on Wednesday. Very slow progress but the right direction.

Like you say it is going in the right direction

How much do you want to lose still?

Pegsmum · 22/06/2026 12:20

Hi, I’m about to restart. My last dose of Mounjaro 10mg was November’25…I have put weight back in frighteningly quickly but only myself to blame,
Felt great on Mounjaro but due to cost am considering trying Wegovy but concerned it may not be as effective. Anyone restarted on Wegovy when previously successful on Mounjaro l?

JBJ · 22/06/2026 12:56

Hi all. I restarted 8 weeks ago after 3 months break due to illness, during which time I gained 10lb, and I’m really struggling this time. Highest dose I got to the first time was 10mg, but got awful constipation, so dropped down to 8mg (could get exactly 5 doses out of a 10mg pen) and that was working brilliantly (lost 8st in a year). This time, I have almost zero suppression and have lost a whole 2.9lb in 8 weeks, which is a bloody expensive way to do it! Moved up to 7.5mg, but still not feeling much other than I haven’t really got a sweet tooth anymore.

Has anyone else struggled the second time round? I’ve still got a couple of stones to lose and it feels like it’s going to take forever and bankrupt me!

Shortsally42 · 22/06/2026 13:18

Hi everyone,
Another restarter very unhappy with how tight her 2025 summer clothes are!
I lost 2 stone on Mj but have gained 1 back. I started again last week. I'm one of those lucky or unlucky people who are very sensitive to Mj. I actually feel better this time around than last and hope that stays. I jab 2mg every 5 days. Its a perfect level of suppression for me.

Here's to us all have good and healthy weeks!
