How much has Mounjaro cost you per lb lost?

I have lost 69lbs but it’s cost me £1080 so far for the pens I have used. I have 4 more pens to use but not included the cost of those in this calculation as they are unused. £15.65 per pound lost.

I also can’t decide whether to order another pen before the extra dose is taken away.

£21 per Lb. Worth it for me. Nothing else worked in 15 years.

I have also saved money though- my expensive £10+ lunches at work replaced with soup from home or a Tesco sandwich (no point spending money on food you can’t eat and don’t fancy.) Booze bill also down a lot as I’m drinking about a bottle a month as opposed to two a week plus the odd G&T etc. Food bill also less.

WeAllHaveWings · 06/03/2026 18:03

137lbs lost over 13 pens/79 weeks before starting maintenance
(includes first 4 weeks of maintenance as 14th pen still in use)

Cost £1,727
(all pens bought before price hike and used for 5-8 weeks, max 5mg pen)

Comes to £12.89/lb lost. Or £21.86/week.

Nomorechocs · 06/03/2026 18:03

Per weeks it’s only cost me £28.42 which I probably have saved buying less chocolate and other food.
Worth it for sure. Seems a lot but split over the weeks it’s ok.

I’ve lost 58lb - Iost the majority of it in the first 5 months but I’ve been using to maintain so I can’t really work out a cost…..but whatever it is, it was worth every single penny! 🙂

TheBrickCritic · 06/03/2026 18:52

£16.61 per pound.
However If I count when I started in a calorie deficit for a few days before my first jab so the initial water weight it would be £11.88

princesspeppax · 06/03/2026 18:53

£31 per lb, first pen week 3 6 pounds off. Feels slow compared to many others

Redlightbulb · 06/03/2026 23:43

Lost 106lb.
16 pens all at old prices - £2,271
£21 per lb lost.
Still have 25lb to go & it is going so slow now so I can see my £ per lb going up.

TartanMammy · 06/03/2026 23:54

£36 per lb.
£26 per week.

I've not really lost anything since Sept, frustrated as still away to go but completely stalled. In Sept it would've been much, much less £ per lb.

Poshjock · 07/03/2026 00:04

Kilos lost = 29 = £74 per kilo. Pounds lost 63.8 = £33.65 per lb.

Cost per week £41.28. On maintenance so cost per loss is rising but worth it imho.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 07/03/2026 08:55

Haven’t worked it out, still on my journey and I will probably be a ‘lifer’. So cost to my wallet will be ongoing but hopefully will be able to move down doses.

Benefits to my health have been significant so the way I see it is that not taking MJ would have been more costly.

Dutchhouse14 · 07/03/2026 10:41

Ive lost 42 lbs over 9 months.
I dont know exactly how much Ive spent but reckon is around £1800 which is £42 per 1lb lost-eek!!
Im am short and menopausal so weight loss has been slooow.
Much slower than when i did it 10 years ago without MJ.
Overall i dont regret it. I dont think i could have done it at this stage if my life without MJ.
I still have a bit more to lose to get to a healthy bmi.
I just hope I can keep it off but will consider maintenance dose but financial commitment is huge especially after price rises.
I dont think Id have started on MJ after the price increases.

maddiemookins16mum · 07/03/2026 10:47

Roughly £26 per pound lost. Worth every single penny as I head out to meet friends I have not seen for 2 years today. They last saw me at 14.5 stone, today I’ll stroll into a tea room at 9 stone 10 in my size 12 jeans. I can’t wait.

PermanentTemporary · 07/03/2026 10:50

Good question! About £100 a kilo, so call it £50 per pound. It’s a lot of money. I am 56 with menopause and PCOS.

museumum · 07/03/2026 10:54

Ten pens so about £2k for about 15kg (35lbs). Doesn’t sound much but I’m 50 and have also been lifting heavy weights so my body has changed sooooo much. I’ve gone from crippled with knee pain back to running a 10K.

Billybingbong · 07/03/2026 12:35

£9.55 per lb. All my pens were bought before the price hike, and I also acquired 3 pens from a friend who had to stop using it, so I've been very lucky.

VamboRools · 07/03/2026 13:05

Lost 30.2kg or 66.4lbs
Spent £1,124.39 (pro rata, Ive got half a pen left)
So £16.93 per pound?

BlessicaBlimpson · 07/03/2026 13:17

Probably about £90 per pound, which seems a lot, but I’d say it’s been worth it.

Jackreacherstrousers · 07/03/2026 13:27

God mine has cost me a fortune! My loss has been incredibly slow.
Only 13 kg lost since August 😭. Unfortunately I have been physically unable to exercise much, due to surgery last year. I have just started very light exercise again over the last 2 weeks.
Still the numbers are going down and I am half way to target

I'm in maintenance, still on MJ but have not lost anything for months (no desire to lose any more, am skinny). So cost per pound will only be going up.

Nomorechocs · 12/03/2026 17:02

I’ve swapped providers every month to get the best prices. That helps.

Gingercar · 12/03/2026 23:48

Omg it’s frightening when you think of it like this! I dread to think. I’m not absolutely sure what I’ve spent over the last ten months and 60lbs. I’m not sure I want to!

HeidiLite · 13/03/2026 05:31

I think about it differently. If last year someone would have asked me that hey, for a monthly fee of X, would you want to be slim - I would have absolutely taken it. So I consider it more of a subscription 😂

GloiredeDijon · 13/03/2026 07:26

This is a very interesting way to look at things.
Might make for helpful thinking when trying not to regain if I ponder how much each pound cost me to lose.

CreamolaFoam26 · 13/03/2026 07:30

I lost 61 pounds over 18 months and because of where I live each pound cost me 112 pounds.

But I also had counselling throughout as well. Two hours a month at a cost of 160 pounds a month and I increased my personal training to 3 times a week which was 60 pounds an hour.

It’s been money well spent and I’ve no regrets. I’ll be off moi harp in a few weeks and I’ve no I tenting of ever needing to go back on it which is why I also had counselling as well as Mounjaro.
