We have all been on for heading up to 20mths now- we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

The amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+
in a year

We are amazing !!!

All of us have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health
most of us are at goal - and working out how to maintain - some nearing it

And some still have weight they want to lose

We are still here cheering you on till you get to your happy weight so please do carry on posting

Some have stopped for cost - esp after the aug announcements - still so thankful we started it when we did
Imagine Aug 25 and being told 2/3w later prices were increasing lots

I def couldn’t have managed a year of mj at new sept prices esp as doses didn’t really effect me even 15 !

ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

This next year will almost be harder.
To keep the weight off Esp if reducing dose or off completely - and we are finding it def harder to keep weight off with lower doses

only 2 words to say 😂😂

I don’t think 10 is doing much as eaten chicken new pots and salad

that’s fine

then munchies and crisps and chocolate

What usually works for you Blondes? Measured out and planned treats? A week off plan? Calorie counting? I think you’ll need to find something that works strictly for a few weeks and then it’ll get easier. I feel like sugar and crap is a gateway, as soon as I’ve had some I want more.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2026 14:05

Yes think so. Planned. As in packet of crisps and choc bar in evening

well I’ve eaten those now

this food noise is crazy. Eat me eat me eat me

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 17/03/2026 14:23

Is there anything that distracts you? Can you talk to the voice and tell it that you won’t be listening? Have a hot chocolate or brush your teeth?

NippyNinjaCrab · 17/03/2026 15:10

I hear you @Blondeshavemorefun, the evil cycle of UPF, sugar and carbs is the devil. I have found that protein hits like some chicken breast to munch on, a boiled egg or a couple of squares of dark chocolate.

Swap the crisps and chocolate for some almonds and above 70% cocoa dark chocolate. A sliced apple with peanut butter maybe?

Now that I am back on this, albeit a low dose I am back on track. We got rid of (ate) 😆 every temptation before we both started.

Do you buy the treats for little mini?
It is so fecking hard!

DH said last night he could see i have lost weight. Although I told him I was going to start MJ again he doesn't know it's arrived and I have jabbed. I will keep it to myself for now.

Today I felt a difference in my energy, whether it’s the additional seeds, nuts and protein or the MJ who knows but I felt good walking today. To the detriment of my gammy hip I walked over the estate forestry with 50mph winds which was a workout. 💪

I have said this before but I wish last year I had persevered and stayed at the lowest dose for a year. It is obvious that MJ does so much more than help us with food noise.

NippyNinjaCrab · 17/03/2026 15:11

@FurForksSake how have you been pain wise? I keep meaning to ask what helps you day to day? X

FurForksSake · 17/03/2026 15:18

@NippyNinjaCrab I spoke to the pharmacist today, they said I need to try and stop the naproxen reliance as it’s very bad long term. So they are putting me back on gabapentin, a much higher dose than before. I’m hopeful that will help, my back is woeful at the moment and I’ve now got tendinitis in my shoulder from hydrotherapy. So cocodamol is being deployed and heat and anything else. In the evening I take ashwarganda, cbd oil capsules, a peptide and magnesium and that combo helps with sleep. I’m taking collagen, fish oil and creatine in the mornings and I notice more stiffness in me when I don’t take those.

NippyNinjaCrab · 17/03/2026 15:51

You are doing amazing! Chronic pain is so hard to manage, tendonitis sounds awful 😖

I wasn't aware about Naproxen not being good long term. I tried Gabapentin and Pregablin and they didn't agree with me at all. I am definitely struggling a tad on just paracetamol as the Nefopam also isn't great for me. I have taken a half dose this morning by chopping a tablet which I know isn't a good idea either.
Hugs to you xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2026 18:29

Where my consultant said not the end of the world to stay on naproxen but to keep an eye on my kidneys as I have cronic kidney failure (sounds worse then what it is) but have another tablet to counteract that

and no the voice isn’t listening !!

I’m on 900 calories for today, need to be strict as we went out for dinner and then I had leftovers yesterday. I’m staying out the kitchen!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2026 20:04

That can’t be healthy. To be on under 1000 even if you are a short arse 😉

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 17/03/2026 20:06

Short and lazy, don’t you know 🤣

Im not losing weight, it’s very stable so I just be averaging out to maintenance across the week. I take lots of supplements to make sure I’m not deficient. I’m hoping when I’m back to work properly I might be able to consume a little more as I’ll be more active.

SilverSprings510 · 17/03/2026 20:19

I’ve found fasting works for me - I still eat all my cals, but tend to have them in the afternoon/evening.

Michael Mosley's 5:2 diet had 2 days at 500 cals, and his 12 week fast 800 were all balanced meals. Not sustainable long term of course. But essentialy, odd days of much lower calories are fine...

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2026 23:25

500 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀

hear that @Azuresky68

what on Earth can you eat on 500 a day bag is healthy and keeps you from starving

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 18/03/2026 11:18

500 calories is a fast day, so nothing till lunch and then maybe 200 calories, could be some veggies and a tiny bit of protein and then similar at dinner.

ive been for a 3km walk and the whole way back I thought about food and going and buying food. I should have had a nice bowl of porridge and fruit to fuel myself instead of the emergency belvita. But I made it home without stopping and I’ve coped. Now I’m home I feel less food noisy.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2026 12:52

That sounds so depressing. The fasting

OP posts:
NippyNinjaCrab · 18/03/2026 14:29

I have fasted before and found it really worked, the downside for me was that I take my meds first thing and I need something in my stomach. I found i could fast better when I was busy and break it around 1pm and then have a healthy dinner with some full fat yoghurt around 7pm to last me till the next day.

I weighed this morning because I couldn't help myself lol, I think I should jab today too instead of WWJ Friday. I started on the Wednesday and as I increase the dose I dont want to feel shit over the weekend.
I am back to 11st 11lbs so 2lbs off from last weigh in. I just want to see below the 11 11 and I know I am heading the right way again.
Xx

Not me onn 500 cals...think it was @FurForksSake...and I hope I won't offend you @FurForksSake but I don't understand why you are fasting? You have always been super supportive to us all..Obviously you have your reasons and that's your choice. I am 4 ft 11 and currently 8 st 10 (preferred weight is 8 st 5) i am size 8 in most things and happy with that. We are all different in how we feel about our bodies aren't we? As long you are happy that's fine. Sending positivity to you xx

FurForksSake · 18/03/2026 18:08

I’m not fasting! It was a general discussion, don’t worry.

we ate out at the weekend so I had a 900calorie day yesterday as I was just still quite full and a bit of a reset.

Today I’ve done a 3km walk, had a tuna mayo sandwich, a donut, I’ve got pizza and garlic bread in the oven and ice cream for pudding.

I’ve done fasting in the past and I think there’s good science behind it, but it’s not something I’m deliberately doing now.
