I feel really rough. I think it's a mix of the lurgy plus side effects. Had a few toilet emergencies. Coincidentally I stopped taking my probiotic a couple of days ago. I have reordered and will take it again.

I get ravenous when my body fights an infection, so I am caught as I don't know what to eat to avoid the toilet emergencies. I feel incredibly fatigued and my limbs hurt randomly. I am cold all the time too. I decided im exempt from dieting and just try to think how to fuel my body with minimal repercussions. Maybe I will order a poke bowl or something. Or have plain rice. Cba to make any food myself.

Hotfirewood · 08/03/2026 16:12

10 weeks today!! I’ve lost nothing again!! Half way through second 5mg pen. I don’t know if I need to increase to 7.5mg.

I’ve got zero appetite as it is. Also, I get passing nausea which I don’t want to get worse. I need to keep reminding myself that 18lbs is a lot to lose. I just hoped it would be more 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

5’7”
SW 81kg (12st 11lbs)
CW 73kg (11st 7lbs)
GW 63kg (9st 13lbs)

HollywoodTease · 08/03/2026 16:50

Hi @Hotfirewood

Don't be too hard on yourself.

For all the people who manage to achieve huge losses on low to medium doses, the actual expected outcomes according to the trial data is much lower.

At 12 weeks the trials would expect you to have lost 5-7% of your start weight. You've lost 9.8% at 10 weeks so you're way ahead!

This is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep doing what you're doing, eventually the scales will catch up with you!

Am thinking of switching to Weg and giving it a spin.

In Ire, it's around 1/2 the price of MJ. If I go to 7.5 mg MJ, it's not short of what I nearly pay for my mortgage 🤣.

Still have 2 doses to go on 5mg, MJ. But I think it's time to get real and explore that option.

@bec81 Youre in Ire. Any advice on good pricing for Weg? Cheers.

Perianth · 08/03/2026 20:23

3lb loss this week for me. I’ve taken another 3.75 dose this week and will move up to 5 next week probably.

My exercise so far has consisted mainly of walking (fairly challenging routes due to the nature of where I live) and I’m hitting 10,000 steps consistently and then some. I’ve also been using dumbbells 2 or 3 times a week for short workouts but the biggest I have are 3kg and I think I need to move heavier weights. Is anyone else doing much strength work? Do you have any advice? I’ve never really done strength exercise before so am just relying on YouTube. I’m contemplating joining the local gym, though I’m nervous about it.

No need to be nervous about the gym - most people are busy in their own heads and won't pay you any attention. If they do it will nearly always be supportive, if not then they're the ones with a problem. Most have PTs who can show you around and do some sessions with you to get you started if you ask when you sign up.

Im just getting it delivered to my local pharmacy through webdoctor. I think i pay €125 regardless of dosage. So the 0.25mg pen cost the same as the 0.5mg.

Id definitely recommend going to the gym. They have all the equipment and the trained professionals. I go several mornings a week, mostly to weights-focused classes and feel great for it.

I’m in a similar boat towards the end of my first week on 0.5 - nausea from when I started is back with a vengeance. It does subside once I’ve eaten but the very full feeling is also back. I’m guessing it will be like this each time I increase my dose, but i’m hoping to stay on 0.5 as long as possible so fingers crossed they don’t linger!

I’ve been having terrible sulphur burps all morning, I’m paranoid that my patients and colleagues think I’m just merrily farting away because they smell so foul!

GreenLemonade · 09/03/2026 10:48

It’s weigh-in day for me, and I’m another 0.8 kg / 1.8 lb down. That means I’ve reached my first goal — a total loss of 10 kg (22 lb) in 8 weeks 😃 I’m absolutely chuffed!

I have nothing to wear. All my trousers are too big now and I didn’t keep anything from when I was a smaller size. I’ve always been the kind of person who gets rid of clothes once they don’t fit. I used to say that if I ever lost weight, I’d celebrate by buying myself new clothes rather than digging out 10-year-old jeans.

I don’t want to go shopping just yet because I’m hoping to lose another 15 kg / 33 lb so my size will probably change again. For now, I’m living in leggings.

My progress has been pretty steady, no big whooshes, but I’ve lost something every single week, which I’ve found really motivating. I also love looking at the chart in my smart scale app that tracks my progress ☺️

Can you get hold of some Pepto bismol? That usually sorts things out!

I still have a pack of Gaviscon tablets in my work bag from when I was pregnant 2 years ago so I’ve popped one and hoping for the best!

What, this is an impressive chart. Why does it look so smooth? Mine looks like a very volatile period in the stock market.

HollywoodTease · 09/03/2026 11:38

I've dug out a tape measure this morning. Done some basics:
Neck 17"
Bust 47"
Waist 41"
Hips 48"

This gives me a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.85 🙂 and a waist-to-height ratio of 0.67 🫤.

So my WTHip is actually OKish (I've always been fairly hourglass) but I need to either keep losing or grow a bit taller! 😂 At 5'1 and 62 years old somehow I don't think the growing taller will be happening! 😁 Best keep taking the meds....

GreenLemonade · 09/03/2026 13:17

@Perimenoanti no idea why it's so smooth. I try to be consistent, both in my diet and in the way I weigh myself. I step on the scale once a week, same time each week, I even put the scale on the same tile every time. I know scales can play up a bit if the floor is not perfectly even. But mostly I think I'm just lucky that my body has been cooperating with me so far.

hereismydog · 09/03/2026 16:11

The day isn’t going well! Threw up twice at work, went home early and thought I’d treat myself to a nice soak in the bath. Just had to jump out of the bath to be sick again Sad it’s still completely undigested food from dinner last night. I don’t think 5mg is for me!

I’m on week 4 off 5mg and I’m better than when I started but still get horrible side effects for the first 3 days after the jab.

i inject on a Wednesday morning and by the afternoon the nausea has kicked in. This week has been really bad and I finally ate a small meal last night which is the first since Tuesday. I feel fine today but already bracing myself for Wednesday.

i signed up for 3 month subscription so have my final 5mg waiting in the fridge. I can’t afford to waste the money and will see how the next month goes before making any decisions on whether to continue.

i still have a lot of weight to loose but am really fed up with feeling so miserable and sick all the time.

i hope the sickness eases for you tomorrow. It has got easier with each jab but still feel horrible, just not quite as bad.

JHound · 09/03/2026 23:02

Weighed myself on Sunday and 3 pounds down. I think it took 3 5mg for 5 to finally kick in and like the effect. It’s very subtle but enough to keep me on track with my diet. This week so far I have had mild cravings and been more hungry but realised my period is due so those hormones are battling MJ (and slightly winning!) 😆

Could you try taking it in the evening? I’ve found that helps me, last week I felt rough after, so I went to bed and by the morning I felt better.

If you have another pen maybe try and take 3mg from it instead?
It could be that 5mg is just too strong for you
But you're not wrong that sounds utterly miserable and it doesn't sound the right choice to continue, in my opinion
Because even when I had side effects last year and it was coming out both ends. It only ever lasted a few days, not week after week of iy

hereismydog · 10/03/2026 07:58

I’ve been vomiting all yesterday and most of the night, had to stay off work today 😩 lucky my manager is also on MJ so she fully understands the pitfalls! Trying to just sip water and nibble a breadstick or two just to try and keep hydrated and not let my blood sugar drop too much. I’ve got some leftover cyclizine from when I had morning sickness so I’m considering taking one just to try and keep some water down.

Hope everyone else is getting on better than I am Grin

HollywoodTease · 10/03/2026 10:38

Weigh-in day, about to take jab #8 (5mg #4)

SW. 99.9kg
CW. 92.05kg
1st GW 90kg
Loss. 7.85kg which is 17.27lbs

Still slow and steady. I've done a spreadsheet 😳 as my scales app has old weigh-ins on it which are skewing my fairly smooth line! 😂

Had a day in London with the girls on Saturday so first alcohol in a month (a bubblegum daquiri which was lush and a glass of prosecco!) but also went to Spoons and could only eat 6 of my 10 chicken bites so swings and roundabouts eh?

I have another 5mg pen in the fridge for next month as so far my only side effect has been a bit of constipation. My fridge is full of green veg to try and mitigate that!

I was hoping to hit my first goal next week but I think it's going to be another 2 at my current rate.

I'm going on holiday on Saturday for a week, Saturday is my jab day. I'm not sure what to do - miss a week or go ahead and jab as usual? I'm still on 2.5mg, no side effects.

Would love any advice/thoughts
