How much weight have you lost with mounjaro?

I started 12 months ago and have lost exactly 7 stone.

I am a size 8 and started this journey a very unhappy size 18!

22kg which is 3.5 stone in 18 months. Down from an uncomfortably large 20 to an increasingly secure 16 - but have plateaued since. The trouble is that I am quite scared to reach my goal weight, which would be another stone - I don’t want to have to decide whether to come off it. Anyway, I do need to do more exercise.

I will be interested to find out if women with PcOS are found to lose less/slower on MJ or if it’s just me! But I’m quite happy with the loss as it stands.

Great results. Just out of interest, is it something you will have to be on for the rest of your life? Also, have you got loose skin?

Hihibye · 28/01/2026 22:49

Thats amazing. Will you stay on it longterm?

Yes. I was taking 10m every 3 weeks.
Switching to wegovy this week as it's cheaper and less potent than mj so hoping it works well for maintenance.

Squirrelchops1 · 29/01/2026 07:24

Rather than going for surgery have you looked up autophagy? Many loose skin issues (lesser amounts obviously) can be rectified over time with fasting. I've read about great results and less invasive.

Edited

Really? No I haven't Ill certainly take a look. Thanks.

25kg in a year. Still losing but more slowly now as I’ve dropped back down to 5mg.

Tbh I’d love to stay on it for maintenance if I can as it’s helped with an autoimmune condition I have. I used to take two different antibiotics daily and I haven’t needed to since starting MJ.

My consultant told me it’s been proven to help with my condition but the NHS won’t fund it for that. So unfortunately I need to keep paying privately, which is saving the NHS money as I’m not getting a shit tonne of medication for the cost of my monthly pre-paid prescription card.

The significant effect it has on other conditions is surely being assessed now by medical institutions? It could be a huge money saving trick for the NHS for so many people. The sticking point no doubt will be the knock on impact that would have on the pharmaceutical industry and I expect those companies exposed to the risk will be doing everything in their power to keep their revenue rolling in.

Fat, Sick people are good for business.

Congratulations everyone what fantastic weight losses. Ive lost 5 stone over a year.
I was size 20 now 10 to 12.
Its a game changer for sure.
I was a bit alarmed to hear about the poster who got pancreatic just short of goal though.
Is anyone hoing for skin removal surgery? Im going off in May to Lithuania for some tweaks.

I've been very lucky in that regard and dont really have any loose skin. I think because I only really piled it on during covid so haven't been overweight all my life maybe that has helped I'm not sure.

I think the VAST amounts of money pharmaceutical companies are making from WLI argue against conspiracist ideas tbh. WLI are popular because they work effectively on something that bothers a lot of people. They don’t solve the obesogenic environment, food industry advertising of ‘snacking’ as a parenting requirement, school playing fields being sold off, wet weather anti play policies in school because there aren’t enough staff to meet modern safety requirements or wrangle a hundred wet children at a time. WLI are a downstream and highly imperfect, medicalising and partial solution to all that. But they work, on their own terms.

Medexpress said I never have to come off it if I don't want to as long as I don't slip into underweight category which is highly unlikely 😁 they said I could stay on 2.5 or 5 for as long as I need.

Freajolly · 29/01/2026 12:18

@PermanentTemporary ,but they Have solved my inflammation issues, blood pressure issues, arthritis, depression, adhd symptoms, all of which have been a problem for years, yes there are other factors at play but, I now exercise, don't care about junk food and alcohol, and my blood pressure is perfect, my adhd symptoms are dampened, it alters the way you think, it's not just a case of it suppressing appetite, the reward centre in your brain is altered it's honestly miraculous. Drug companies make money from anti depressants, blood pressure tablets anti inflammatories and keeping people in a state of unwellness keeps the need for the drugs /money, GP'S, prescribe statins and sertraline and others like metformin like smarties, and crucially people resign themselves to taking these for life.

kiwiane · 29/01/2026 12:20

3.5 stones in 8 months. I’ll be a bmi of 25 soon and hope to lose a further stone or so.

kiwiane · 29/01/2026 12:21

I do think I’ll need to be on this very long term; the improvement in my osteoarthritis was immediate.

Buzzlightfear · 29/01/2026 12:26

7 stone and 1 pound. Been on it for 18 months (I'm actually on wegovy not mounjaro). Still another stone to go but it's changed my life.

PermanentTemporary · 29/01/2026 12:37

@freajolly you don’t have to persuade me of the benefits of WLI for someone who is obese, and I hear a lot about emerging evidence on other conditions, particularly as you say arthritis, which is fantastic (though I understand so far the early real evidence on alcoholism is disappointing). But as of these first years when pharma companies still have patents on WLIs, their income from them hugely outstrips the increasingly more generic drugs like SSRIs and statins. There’s no incentive at all for companies to keep us on a range of cheaper drugs right now if WLIs would do the job.

Freajolly · 29/01/2026 14:43

@PermanentTemporary ,yes it will be interesting when in the not too distant future WLI come off licence and therefore affordable for the masses, the sticking point for me (and lots of people) has been the affordability long term, buying it privately, but there's ways round this even now. For now I'm so grateful for the 5 st + loss and am determined to keep it off.

Fatmumslim01 · 29/01/2026 19:56

Slow going here but I've lost almost 4 stone in 10 months. Another 2 at least to go. It's absolutely miracle medication!

northernlight20 · 29/01/2026 20:05

Lost just short of 7 n half stone since March 2025, 11lbs left to lose. And I will be on it for life, I feel fantastic on it and won’t ever come off it.

reluctantbrit · 29/01/2026 20:29

So far 3st in 6 months. On 5mg and plan to stay, another 3-ish to go but I see how I feel when I hit my next goal which is another 10kg to loose, scheduled for mid-April but we see how it goes.

LovesLabradors · 29/01/2026 21:07

Some incredible losses here!
I've lost 40lbs since May last year and it has transformed me. I lost a stone before starting MJ so I'm about 55lbs down from my heaviest - I went on MJ because I could feel my diet failing yet again...
I've got about a stone to go to get to goal, but I think I'll need to go up to 12.5mg to do that, because I've stayed the same for a couple of months now. But it's so incredible to be able to wear jeans again without looking like an overstuffed sausage.

narcASD · 29/01/2026 21:21

3st in just over 3 months, another 3 to go.

Summerunlover · 29/01/2026 21:32

2 stone in 6 months. I was a slow loser but now I am off mj I am still losing at that rate. So I am glad I did it slowly to maintain this.

vickyfowler · 29/01/2026 21:47

narcASD · 29/01/2026 21:21

Gosh, I thought the pp with a similar loss was a real outlier. Are you eating properly? Thats dangerously fast.

3st in just over 3 months, another 3 to go.

Wow. I’d love to hear what your journey’s been like, and what you’ve been eating?

narcASD · 29/01/2026 21:54

@vickyfowleryes I'm eating well, better than ever mostly, I started at 15st 8lb at the start of October and currently 12st 7lb. When I started I aimed for 1600- 1800 calories a day, now I am on around 1400-1500, I do workout 4-5 a week and eat high protein, high fibre 80% of the time.

addictedtotheflats · 29/01/2026 21:54

3.5st March-December. From size 16 to size 10/12. Trying (unsuccessfully) to come off it.
