Good morning everyone.

Sorry to read you are in pain @eibbed999. Have you had to cancel your planned treat?

Some excellent NSVs, great starts and good news about getting back on track after Christmas.

How are things with you. @PearlTeapot how are the plans for getting home coming along?

Here, I wasn't surprised to gain some of my 9lb loss (In 3 days). I have put just over 2lb back on, but I am hoping that the uptrend stops there and I can now start heading back in rhe right direction.
I am now fully recovered and able to eat normally again, which is a relief.

Wishing you all a good Sunday, whatever you are up to.

eibbed999 · 25/01/2026 08:14

Glad you're feeling better @PositiveAttitude - I don't think it'll catch on as a weight loss plan, unless a drug company figures out how to make money from it! Sadly I have had to cancel my trip - daughter is hopefully going with a friend instead. I cry when I have to walk to the loo, so the idea of trains and navigating a theatre and steps up to the hotel room seems ludicrous! Bad timing but such is life. Hopefully it will clear up soon as I am going slightly loopy stuck in the house, and I'm biting everyone's heads off and then instantly apologising!

SilenceInside · 25/01/2026 08:40

@GnomeDePlume that’s a brilliant HBA1C result, you must be very pleased with that.

Springflowers2 · 25/01/2026 09:39

January so far ,three pounds of ,three pounds on
Been on chatgtp trying to figure out where I'm going wrong.
It's saying I need to accept small gains to try to get my calories up
I had a 4 pound gain in August as well ,and I never worked out what caused that

Frustrating for you @Springflowers2. Doing everything right and it still not working. Not good for motivation. Hope it sorts itself out - you've already lost so much - seems like our bodies like to play tricks on us really.

Yes
January has been difficult with a medication not working and needing other meds ,and needing to drink tons this last week.
I think I'm water logged
Could be water weight .. although I'm peeing constantly .

I have news... 4 long months away are coming to an end and I'm being discharged on Feb 8th!! Overjoyed to be in recovery and going home. Two weeks to go!

Lost 1lb this week, taking me to 15.7 stone which feels unreal to me. Haven't been this weight since I had my baby 15 years ago.

GnomeDePlume · 25/01/2026 11:05

That is marvellous news @PearlTeapot! Well done on the weightloss as well.

OvertiredandConfused · 25/01/2026 11:06

Morning! I am sorry about the PF @eibbed999 I had it for a while and know how horrible it is. I hope it eases quickly.

NSV for me. Just got my HBA1C blood test results back which show that I am now in the optimal/normal range! I know this doesnt mean my diabetes is cured but it does mean that it is managed.

I’ve got my blood test in a couple of weeks, I can’t wait! Genuinely! I’m so excited to see what my levels are…

The thing is our bodies arent simple machines. They are amazing, complex things. I was shocked when I found out our brains use 400-500 calories per day. We are so much more complicated than energy in/energy out.

So you may well have used the fat but your body is rebalancing itself.

TragicMuse · 25/01/2026 11:55

Oh @PearlTeapot what wonderful news! I’m so pleased for you!

Thinking about the toilet roll analogy:

Since Christmas, I've gone from 11st 8lb down to 11st 1lb.

That's 7lb.

Endless numbers of people have commented that I've lost weight (since Christmas).

If I was still at the beginning of all this, at over 20st - nobody would have noticed when I lost 7lb.

It actually took a loss of 5 - 6st before anyone said anything.

Thank you everyone!! 😍

The toilet roll analogy is so true! Interesting that so many people have commented @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne .
