I'm at a weight I'm fairly happy with but scales say I should lose more.
I go to the gym and eat well but am not losing much weight now.
My biggest concern is headaches and losing hair !
I have lost about half my hair !
I take biotin . Collagen. Hair vitamins. Pumpkin oil and magnesium all in an effort to stave hair loss but nothing is working. I'm getting even more depressed abiut it so think my only option is to stop injections.
It was the only thing that worked for me. I just hope the weight doesn't pile back on !

Have you tried iron supplements?

Mysticmaiden · 11/01/2026 12:11

I switched to wegovy and my hair loss has returned to pre mj levels and I'm still losing too as have days of lower calories and days of higher with being at maintenance and exercising but would be happy if I lost more. Hair loss stopped immediately after switching and I was still doing the same diet wise and low carbs etc then and went on to lose 3.5lbs as it was just before maintenance so i hadnt changed anything. I do believe it's mj itself causing hair loss and mine was significant even with high protein, extra collagen, biotin and liquid high strength vitamins. My iron levels were tested and were normal.

Hair loss happens with any major weight loss regardless of what method is used and it can take about 6 months to resolve so you won’t see any really quick results from supplements or from stopping the Mounjaro. If that is your main reason for stopping then it’s worth looking more into the mechanisms behind the hair loss and restoration before making any decisions.

I had a fair amount of breakage, some caused by my lackadaisical approach to home hair dye but continued the MJ, started taking pumpkin oil, made sure I was hitting protein goals and not cutting calories too low, moved to a caffeine shampoo and I have regrowth now several months later.

Was told by supplier I can't have wegovy due to medical condition with Thyroid sadly . I wish I could as its cheaper .
I take pumpkin oil. Collagen etc. Use ukhair products. I'm always gentle with my hair.

I take a supplement with iron and multivitamins.

Check how much iron is actually in it - you might benefit from an iron-only supplement. Also, nutritionists recommend taking iron on an empty stomach. I was taking it with meals before I read this, but when I switched to first thing in the morning I noticed an improvement. My hair loss incidentally was due to losing weight without WLI - I think it is the weight loss rather than the injections directly that causes the hair loss as I always experience it when I lose weight.

DottyMcDiet · 11/01/2026 13:29

What dose are you on?

I take it first thing with big glass of water.
My weight loss has been really slow. I really struggle to lose weight no matter what I do.
My bloods are fine. Doc said they are the best he's ever seen for someone My age. I'm 66. Body scan says my metabolic age is 55 ! So pleased with both of these.
I'm not joking but people used to stop me in the street or in a shop to say how lovely my hair was. It's so depressing .
