Which food have you not had once since starting WLI?

For me, not one biscuit in four months! I used to have at least a couple every afternoon before. Also no cravings for fish & chips which would be my takeaway weakness.
What a miracle this medication is 🥳

I find that I am pickier. Whereas previously I would eat pretty much anything sweet now I only eat the things I really, really like. To quote Prue Leith it has to be “worth the calories”. But I still eat cake and biscuits. Just in smaller quantities and mostly home made.
I have given up crisps and things like wotsits etc as they are such empty and unsatisfying calories.

WeAllHaveWings · 10/01/2026 23:18

I’ve been on Mounjaro for over 18 months now and can go weeks/months between biscuits, fizzy drinks, cake/desserts, chocolate as they are just not really on my radar anymore but still have a single biscuit, or a couple of cubes of chocolate occasionally.

Thinking about it I don’t think I have had any sweets - haribo, skittles, jelly babies, pastilles type sweets the entire time.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/01/2026 23:27

19 months in and can’t think of anything I haven’t had!

I didn’t eat red meat for the first 5 months and didn’t have chocolate for about a year but 8 months into maintenance now and eat most things.

Hmm, thinking about it, not sure I’ve had any cake🤔

Sugar

Pasta! Haven't had pasta for over a year and it was one of my fave foods. I had some early on into WLI journey and it gave me the ick, not had it since!

SilenceInside · 10/01/2026 23:43

After 18 months I think I’ve had a bit of everything that I used to eat. A big difference is that we don’t really order takeaways at all anymore, so I haven’t had any takeaway Indian or Chinese over that time, although I have eaten out at a Chinese restaurant once or twice.

The main difference is that I don’t seek out high calorie, high sugar, high fat foods all the time! So I couldn’t care less about ice cream, chocolate, desserts in general. I might try a bit of something when out, but I wouldn’t order any for myself or buy things in my weekly shop.

Think I’ve had pasta twice in 18 months, left me feeling hungry.

Had cereal, a previous favourite crunchy nut cornflakes, twice a couple of months ago as the box was going out of date, and was ravenous within an hour. So avoid that now too.

I went 10 months without chocolate, and I used to eat my body weight in Galaxy! Tried a piece at Christmas and it just tasted so sweet. Don’t miss it at all really. Also gone off wine, which was my other vice! Had a glass of that on Christmas Day and really didn’t enjoy it.

I don't think there's anything I've not had at all, but I've had barely any pasta, compared to before times.

daffodilandtulip · 11/01/2026 00:24

Diet Coke and alcohol. Went off it overnight and haven't touched it in over 18 months now.

No actual food that I've gone off, I just have one treat a day eg crisps, and a normal portion, rather than alllll the treats everyday. Chocolate makes me feel sick the next day, but I have still given in to the craving here and there.

Megsdaughter · 11/01/2026 00:40

Chocolate, i was addicted to it. Havnt touched it in a year, just dont fancy it.
Coffee even the smell of it makes me feel sick. I was like that during pregancy as well.
Apart from that have eaten pretty much what i always ate just in smaller amounts. Ive lost 5stone

Toddlerteaplease · 11/01/2026 01:09

Waitrose ham and emmental cheese sourdough baguette.

tobee · 11/01/2026 03:10

Toast

I was going to say bread but I've had some breadcrumbs in something and i also shared an open bagel sandwich thing with my sister who doesn't know I'm on WLI.

I used to absolutely love bread and toast in all its forms but I just haven't had any. I don’t know why though.

I was saying to my kids earlier that I've had a bit of chocolate and biscuits, a couple of alcoholic drinks etc but just don't favour them above other food and drink now iyswim. Quite weird.

Overtheatlantic · 11/01/2026 03:51

Pizza. I would easily have had it once a week before but I haven’t had a slice in 6 months. Unfortunately I still eat chocolate, but I’m disciplined about it.

TidyDancer · 11/01/2026 06:43

Alcohol. I can’t think of any foods I had before that I haven’t had since I started (16/17 months ago) but I haven’t touched alcohol once. I was never a massive drinker but now I can’t see why I’d bother going back to it. It’s empty and pointless calories to me.

DBatteryBand · 11/01/2026 07:08

I haven't had a single mince pie (mince pie season, for me, runs from when they first appear in the shops in September to mid-January when my supplies usually run out.) I started taking Mounjaro in May and haven't had any cake or fizzy pop since then. I could never pass through the bakery section at the supermarket with throwing bags of doughnuts into the trolley - haven't even looked at them since last Spring. I almost never eat bread, and I was a proper breadaholic before.

I have developed a weird fixation with mint tea, though, and have a great many varieties cluttering up the kitchen.

HollyhockDays · 11/01/2026 07:52

Nothing. I’ve just eaten less of stuff.

lovealongbath · 11/01/2026 08:52

Alcohol - gone from approx 15 units per week to zero units.
Bread - I wasn’t a bread fan before, but I am choosing not to eat bread at all.
Crisps - ate alongside the alcohol.
Pasta - choosing not to eat the carbs.
Pizza - in the past, once a month pizza takeaway, not had any in 14 months.
Biscuits - decreased significantly, Gosh, I could easily demolish half a packet of chocolate digestives in one go but I haven’t bought them for 14 months and if I do have a biscuit, it’s a rich tea.
Fizzy juice - sugar free diluted now

Brightlittlecanary · 11/01/2026 09:19

During my weight loss phase I think I had two small chocolates, didn’t really enjoy them, been maintaining about 9 months, had chocolate at Xmas and some desserts on holiday, but back into maintenance now and not really interested, I’m on a 5mg maintenance dose, so can take or leave.

i haven’t had bread since I started, and I had a bowl of pasta on holiday, was the first in over 18 months, was nice, but not something I’m craving again.

we don’t do takeaways any more. Used to get one once or twice a month, we haven’t had one for 18 months, just not bothered, we do still go out to dinner though, but eat more protein and veg meals when out.

myladyjane · 11/01/2026 09:59

It took me 11 months to have alcohol. I wasn’t a big drinker anyway but it just wasn’t a thing. I had maybe 5 drinks in total over Xmas. Also non milky coffee. Still ok with lattes etc but black or instant coffee with milk really sets off acid/heart burn weirdly. Luckily I mostly like tea.

Purlant · 11/01/2026 10:12

Tomatoes. Used to eat them a lot and now don’t fancy them. There are a few things I didn’t used to eat before that I enjoy now (like chocolate) and I find I am drinking more wine. Not sure if this is due to low blood sugar?

BelleEpoque27 · 11/01/2026 12:15

Bread and thickly spread butter. I used to be completely addicted, would have a piece while I was waiting for my toast to brown. I haven't even thought about it since (except to wonder at my aversion to it).

Everything else I've eaten in moderation, though I've noticed I don't really fancy chocolate at all except very dark, bitter chocolate.

Normally when I'm on a diet I immediately start to crave very high fat foods - chip shop chips, doughnuts etc. It's torture, they're not things I normally eat but as soon as I can't, I want them. Now - I wouldn't thank you for them. It really is an incredible medication.

bignewprinz · 11/01/2026 12:18

Not a single take away. No McDonalds or Chinese, and I used to have one or the other every week. For me, the jabs have paid for themselves as I used to spend so much on Saturday night.

Mysticmaiden · 11/01/2026 12:34

No alcohol, pasta or takeaways in over 15 months. Got to around a year without chocolate and biscuits, went around 6 months without cheese. Its only Xmas that messed up those streaks lol no ice cream or desserts around a year.

HangryBrickShark · 11/01/2026 12:35

Pate and walkers crisps! Pate too rich, crisps too dry. Weird. Only had two Cadbury Roses over Xmas, before it would have been two boxes!
