Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

@TragicMuse I would definitely consider dropping down, either back to 7.5mg or an interim dose if the 10mg isn't settling down for you. You could try 8.75mg and see if that's any better.

I was going to post the same as this @TragicMuse

Last year's tree with Linney the cat trying to decide if he's going to pull it down.

Linney has his regular appointment with the vet this afternoon, and this year's decorations will go up when I get home. A good friend is taking me and the cat to the vet's, which is 15 miles away. Husband took the car with him when he left.

It's the loss of the car which annoys me more than the loss of the husband.
🤣

@PearlTeapot sorry you won't be home for Christmas, hopefully the hospital will try their best to give you a nice day. I'm sure some of us will still be around if you wanted to chat too :)

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne cat is gorgeous! Hope the tree is up now! In the new year could you manage to get yourself a run about car to get from A to B?

My pile of Christmas food is getting bigger but still it's a lot less than usual and it's going to be much more spread over a long period.

I've bought an expensive (for me) jumper from vinted, I love it but I'm actually thinking it's going to be too big. As it's a brand I'm hoping it's small fitting, other wise I'll have to resell and wait for another one to come up.

Is that the broon one or the white one? 😉

Here they are, in all their glory.

CATS!

I’m going to experiment with not calorie counting for a few days and see what happens…I’d like to trust my instincts and not spend all my life calorie-counting so s’pose I need to actually try it!

It is! Room is looking very festive.

I'm hoping to, but not quite sure if I can afford it.

Hi guys I'm @Snowcat5
I got locked out of my account, and had to join using a different account.
Or an old account,I don't really know as it seemed to just allocate me this username.
It doesn't help I'm not particularly technical,so it's probably something I've done wrong rather than Mumsnet

Anotherstressedmother · 16/12/2025 06:11

I'm still ill ,I can't shake whatever it is that I've got .
At least it wasn't a tooth infection..stuff of nightmares anything to do with teeth for me .
Sinus pain and headaches and feeling very run down ..whole family had flu and were ,in bed for a week, with me running myself ragged looking after them ,while feeling like shite .

GnomeDePlume · 16/12/2025 10:22

@Anotherstressedmother I hope you are feeling better soon.

A couple of NSVs:

I no longer routinely spill food on myself. A combination of sitting closer to the table and eating more slowly and thoughtfully.

I am starting to develop a gym routine. I go when DH is at work. He leaves the house before 6am so I go to the gym at the same time. I'm not 'going for the burn', 20 minutes of cardio machines then 10-20 minutes of strength machines. I'm only aiming to get a little bit toned and fit, nothing spectacular.

I dont love it but I dont hate it.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/12/2025 10:26

Isn't that typical of families though @Anotherstressedmother
It doesn't matter if we're ill too. We still end up looking after everyone else.
I hope you start to feel better soon.
I agree with you about teeth.
I can't stand anything to do with teeth; I got dry socket once, and I've never known pain like it.

NSV- my DD made me sort through all my coats yesterday as nothing would stay on the hooks as there were so many. I can fit in all my old favourites and have made a bag for the charity shop for a couple of recent swampy ones I detested but that fit.

Maybe it’s time to revisit my wardrobe too!

Everdecreasingcircle · 16/12/2025 11:48

Loved 🥰 your pictures @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne of your cats.
They are gorgeous. I too would rather spend Christmas with 2 fab fur babies than a useless ex husband .

Cat4324 · 16/12/2025 11:58

Hoping someone can confirm I am thinking right here! I need to get my new 7.5mg pen out of the fridge before the in-laws come round on Boxing Day as I really can't be bothered with the judgement and comments if they spot it 🤦‍♀️ I have 1 dose left of a 5mg pen that should be this Weekend so instead of using that last dose can I do a 40 click dose of the 7.5mg pen? So I still only have 5mg this week and then after Xmas do my 5mg old pen and then a 2.5mg from the new pen so the doses are right again?

SilenceInside · 16/12/2025 12:01

@Cat4324 that sounds quite complicated! If the inlaws are only there for one day, I would just put the 7.5mg pen in an insulated coolbag with lots of ice packs and then just put it back in the fridge when they've gone. Save all the chopping and changing of pens and doses.

Cat4324 · 16/12/2025 12:03

🤦‍♀️ Can you tell I'm just a bit stressed about them coming round? 😂 That makes so much more sense

Fffreeeeezing · 16/12/2025 12:13

@Cat4324 can you not just put it in a tomato puree like box/hide it in the veg drawer/put it in the top of the fridge door where no one can see unless they are freakishly tall and keep it in the fridge?
