Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

Hey everyone, how are we all doing?

We are away this week so no scales and I’ll be 2 days late in jabbing, so a bit of an experiment!

We went out for dinner last night at a Latin American place and I ate a non-meat quesadilla - boy did I regret it! My first serious side effects; massive stomach cramps and then vomiting in the night. I feel much better now but will be avoiding anything rich/greasy for the foreseeable.

Margaritawithlime · 19/02/2026 08:34

Helllloooo. Checking in here. We are away this week too so not sure how it will go - have decided not to fuss too much and try to eat intuitively along with tracking what I eat to the best of my ability but not worry about it.
It’s still coming off nice and steadily. I do sometimes worry about it being too fast but I’m hoping it slows down a little as it continues. It’s averaging about 2lbs a week recently and I’m down 33 overall. Starting to really see a difference and my MIL who I haven’t seen since Xmas couldn’t believe it when she saw me yesterday so that was a real boost!

MrsTigerface · 20/02/2026 12:08

Forgot to update last week - I lost 1lb again. This week…not so happy, I seem to have stayed the same.

Well - I say that, but I have always disregarded the fractions on the display, being of the view that humans don’t need to be weighed in such small increments. This view is now coming back to haunt me. In reality, I think I have lost a whopping one quarter of a pound.

Onwards! Next Friday I am doing measurements again. I am sure that my hips feel a bit less wodgy.

In better news, I am back in the gym, so that’s a win.

cobblers00 · 21/02/2026 17:08

Hello everyone, lovely to hear how you’re all getting on.. it’s reassuring to see other people’s experiences and shows how different this journey is for everyone. For me, I’m going to
up to 3.5mg next jab (mon) as am really noticing I’m fancying more fatty foods again & almost ‘eating round’ the jabs if that makes sense. I look forward to feeling hungry & being able to ‘enjoy’ food- this shows I’ve not changed my deep seated habits yet - which worries me for when I reach goal weight. My progress; 9.5kg down & about 5.5 to go.. - so not far away to get where I want to be. How much longer does everyone else think they’ll be on it for? I can see a scenario when I micro dose a week here and there forever more in the future if the pounds creep back on. Anyway, keep the updates coming.. and any tips too!

Are the online pharmacies willing/able to prescribe for maintenance? If so, presumably you have to stay with the one who has monitored your weight loss.

Frillysweetpea · 21/02/2026 21:43

I went back to 2.5 mg after a month off due to surgery (I'd put on 3lb). Had been on 5mg for 3 weeks prior to stopping. Just had 2nd dose at 2.5 mg again after not losing any of the 3lb the first week. Noticing better appetite suppression now so fingers crossed it starts coming off again. Btw, I could have gone straight back to 5 mg but I did have a few gastro problems with it. Manageable when ok but I didn't feel like dealing with them during recovery from surgery.
Due to the rapid weight gain after stopping I'm interested in the idea of maintenance dosing long term - I think only a minority of people self regulate long term following weight loss from injections.

Gardener82 · 22/02/2026 11:06

Morning everyone, I’m another 1lb down this week. That’s 22lb total since the 7th December.
We booked our summer holiday last week and I’m looking so forward to not feeling like a massive blob on the beach. I’m not where I want to be yet but for the first time in years my goal feels achievable.
Im starting the Caroline Girvan Iron challenge today.. Wish me luck because it looks like a killer!

I believe so- there’s a recent thread about it actually. I am not aiming to get my BMI to below 24/25 so think they’ll still prescribe at that anyway.. & will stockpile a bit too. Not sure really, taking it month by month!

Great job! It’s such a good feeling not dreading putting summer clothes on this year! Hope the fitness goes well. I’ve been weight training this morning- much prefer it to all the cardio I used to do. No loss on the scales for me this morning but I know I’m slowly shrinking as clothes are looser by the week. Decided I’m going to jab at 4mg tomorrow as really do want to speed things up to get to my interim target by mid March. Did you find the side effects noticeable from 2.5 to 5? Did you go up gradually or straight in? I’ve been on 2.5 every 5 days for a few weeks, last week was 3.5 (I think can’t remember if did 3.75 in the end?!- must kept better records!!) but still not ready to take the plunge for the full 5mg yet. Have a good Sunday everyone. Also anyone got some good high protein recipes to share.. I’m getting bored with mine!

I’m on 7.5 now, I did 2.5 for the first month, 5mg for 5 weeks and I’ve just took my 3rd 7.5.. Two more 7.5 because I’m extracting the golden dose.
I’ve got a 5mg pen waiting In the fridge and was planning on stopping after that but I’m thinking of buying one more pen to get me to my goal.

cobblers00 · 22/02/2026 14:16

@Gardener82can I ask why you’ve gone up through the doses.. were the lower ones just not as effective over time?

Exactly that, I got to the end of each month and felt the effects less so thought best to move up.
I won’t go any higher than 7.5mg though because the suppression on this is so high, it makes it easy to stick to 800-1000 calories a day.
I’ve got 2 more jabs left in my 7.5 and a full 5mg ready in the fridge. I think I’m going to order one more pen, maybe at 7.5. and then use the 5mg for the final 5 weeks.
I need to come up with a plan for stopping though.
My neighbour has lost 10 stone in 18 months on Mounjaro, she maintained for the last four months by doing intermittent fasting, she doesn’t eat past 3pm. I have another friend who lost 3 stone and has maintained for a year Mounjaro free doing a version of the 5.2 diet.. She’s not counting calories on the days she’s not doing 500 calories but she does exercise 4 times a week now, something she never did before.
Has anyone else got a plan in mind for stopping?

ViciousChicken · 22/02/2026 15:16

Good going everyone. I’ve dropped back from 3.75 to 2.5mg this week. I feel like I’m eating a bit more but am still losing. I have been feeling a bit low and putting it down to the jab hence dropping the dose back a bit. I’m now 9 stone 10.5. I think I’m going to aim for around 9st 7 - I can’t quite fit into my
favourite old jeans! I don’t mind it being slow, I’m going to concentrate on exercising well this week.

Tammy214 · 22/02/2026 16:35

Lost nearly 2 stone, decided to stay on 7.5 another month because i have struggled to eat and thats led to me not being able to do the excercsing i want to do as am too fatigued.
However bras are looser, i can fit into clothes a size smaller (some are still tight) . i am hoping 2nd round of 7.5 ends up with less suppression and i get to go to 10. I also found out that maintenance dosages are simply because of testing , and 7.5 isnt listed as a maintenance dose so you have to wait a bit longer for the doctor check.
Still aiming to finish in june and keep 2.5 and 5 int he fridge just incase

StrongGirlsLift · 23/02/2026 07:56

You’re all doing so well! I’m super impressed.

I just weighed in after a nine day gap, on holiday, and am 0.75kg down - I’ll take it. I have had good suppression really but very limited choices of food as a veggie. I’m 1.5kg away from my original target, looking back at my notes on this thread, but 11.5kg away from my new goal. I feel hopeful.

I am finding exercising so much easier without the extra weight! I’m still not cleared to run after an injury in Sept but should be able to start soon; can’t wait to rebuild the distance. I am on WG and am losing slowly compared to most of you I think, but feeling grateful for the (generally) manageable side effects and for the progress so far.

Gardener82 · 26/02/2026 11:51

How’s everyone doing?
I had a nice moment earlier, realised I was wearing the same Tshirt from a photograph taken of me in October, I hate this photo!! Took another one today and I can really see the difference now. I’m just over half way through my Mounjaro (11 weeks and 12 more to go before I stop) and I’m thinking I’ll reach my target weight within that timeframe, I’m so pleased I decided to do this for myself!

@Gardener82 that’s brilliant!
ok here on slightly higher dose. no major side effects. A little constipation and have been feeling quite cold - appetite suppression is up but not crazy.. it’s weird, I get hungry but then have to remind myself not to overeat - that’s my problem, I never listen to my tummy full cues because I like the act of eating & mouth feel of food .. does that make sense?

Well done gardener! It’s nice fitting back into clothes, isn’t it! And Cobblers, I’ve been so happy to have clear signs from my body when I’m full, it’s amazing (I now understand why certain friends/family members can wander off and leave a meal half finished - it has always baffled me before). But yes, I get it, like my mouth is operating to different instructions than my stomach.

This week, I noticed that my resting heart rate had increased since being on WG, then discovered it’s a known side effect. It’s actually been great for me as my RHR was low, sometimes too low (in the mid-high 30s while asleep). But it was weird to wake up this week and notice my heart rate feeling rapid! Despite this side effect, WG use correlates with improved cardiac outcomes otherwise.

Hi all, it's good to see how everyone is doing. I went up to 5mg last month and managed 2 doses before having to reduce to 2.5mg again due to horrific diarrhoea, first week lasting 12 hours, second week lasting 48 hours and needing to take a day off work. I'm getting mounjaro via my gp pharmacy and it was as if she didnt believe that it was mounjaro and just thought it was a stomach bug which has irked me as it was definitely the mounjaro as it happened at exactly the same time 2 weeks in a row. I got another 2.5mg pen for this month and ill decide what do do after that.

Makes complete sense to me.
I really need to use this time
to sort out my weird behaviour with food. I’m almost 44 and up until 2019 I was a size 8/10 and had been my entire adult life. Even after having kids I was slim.
I was also one of those annoying people that didn’t have to work to stay that way.. I’d never counted calories or been on a diet, like I said it was just how I’d always been.
In 2019 I gave up smoking.
I was a really heavy smoker and gained 2 stone in 9 months! And then of course lockdown happened and I came out of that with another stone and half in extra weight.
Since then I have lost and gained the same stone I don’t know how many times.
I was definitely not eating because I was hungry.
I feel like I maybe swapped smoking for eating.
I also managed to get a ridiculous addiction to Diet Coke. I was drinking 4/5 cans of the stuff a day. Since starting Mounjaro I’ve cut it down to one can every few days.

MrsTigerface · 28/02/2026 15:58

Another 1lb down yesterday. God, this is slow!

More positively, I measured my waist and hips again and in the last four weeks, I have lost another inch from each (when the scales said a loss of 2lb only in that time). I am so glad now that I did the measurements, it has helped keep me going.

Rightly or wrongly, I decided to try a 3.75mg dose for the first time yesterday too. I think I feel ok, possibly a bit bilious. I’ll see how it goes on this amount for a few weeks, I think.

No weigh in next week, as we’ll be away.

@Gardener82 , love the photos, you must be delighted with your progress! I notice you say that you have 12 weeks to go…does that mean you have worked out an exit strategy, so to speak? I am still not sure what on earth I’m going to do.

I am so similar to you regarding the timescales. I did have to work to keep slim though as I have only ever eaten in a very disordered way so to the extremes either way which kept my weight on average quite even.

I am really working on getting the mindset of not rewarding with food, not having to finish it as its a waste and not just eating as much as possible as food is so nice (eg all inclusive food). I love feeling normal about food and it really has showed me how bad my disordered eating was previously.

No weight down here this week - but can now fit in a size 12 which considering I was at 16 to start with, is great! I’ve seen a few people I’ve not seen since starting though & they’ve not commented! My DH says it’s noticeable so maybe they’re just not saying anything out of politeness? I guess they never said ‘you’ve got fat’ at the time either!!

im still binge eating. I moved onto 5mg which I feel like is making zero difference

Just ordered from medicine marketplace and it says Mounjaro ok for 6 weeks not 4? At some point I want to go every 10 days so this might work
