Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

I hope you dont mind me checking in on here.
Bowels still not back to normal, so unfortunately not just taking a break, and I won't be starting the jab again.
I have managed to keep the kcal intake down, and now just about 9lbs down since min December, so it's alright for now.
Just need to stick with it!
Still need to up my protien and cook a bit more.

Sorry to hear you’ve had to stop. It’s weird your stomach isn’t back to normal. Must be awful being constipated for no apparent reason. Glad you’ve maintained the loss and are making some positive changes though.

ViciousChicken · 09/02/2026 07:43

I lost just over a pound this week bringing me to 9st 13lb. Not sure what my target is, checked my body fat on my (probably not very accurate) scales and it said 33% so I’d like to bring that down to under 30 I think. Also got a specific pair of jeans as a target! I know I need to build some more muscle too.
I'm sticking to 3.75mg for now. Side effects are bearable. I do have some hunger and food noise with it but it’s manageable and I need to learn to control that in the long run.

I am similar and according to my measurements body fat is similar! I need to up my exercise game. I have an app I have subscribed to for 3 months so want to give that a go at home

Has anyone started having weird cravings, I have been craving cheese, am lactose intolorant so its not something i have often and i pick a lactose free cheese if i do. its an odd thing to crave, and this is new to me

cobblers00 · 10/02/2026 11:57

Yay, I did the golden dose successfully! Drew out 0.7 & used it all as am going up to 3.75 from next week so thinking this is a stepping stone to that?!

Thats what I did, I think it helps.

I am considering going up again, definitely more hungry this week which is good as I am still able to control my eating but would just like to get closer to goal first then go down lower and get more hunger gradually etc. Or alternatively I will take 2.5mg every 5 days, not really sure what is best?

cobblers00 · 10/02/2026 12:38

@SexyFrenchDepression I’ve been taking 2.5 every 6 days last pen.. still been hungry & struggling to keep within deficit as seeking out less healthy foods which when I first started I had no appetite for at all. I still can’t eat big portions. But I’d say my willpower is working at 60% whereas at the start it was 10% .. I’m hoping going up to 3.75 will help but have always had the view I want to take a low a dose as possible & lose slowly.. which I am- 1lb a week or less!! Like you I want to kick start it again & speed up for a few weeks now.

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 10/02/2026 12:41

@cobblers00 its tricky isnt it, I had a good loss last week compared to the 1lb a week for the few weeks before that so its going ok but I am also looking to the maintenance/reducing usage so thinking 3.75 will be good for getting to target, then can reduce dose slowly after that. Possibly taking more regular 2.5 will do the same thing though. I need to do the maths 😂

cobblers00 · 10/02/2026 12:46

@SexyFrenchDepressionare you eating to deficit each week or noticing a difference on the scales corresponds to your intake? Mine doesn’t seem to! Unless I’m tracking my food all wrong but I honestly don’t feel I am seeing a true reflection on the scales - maybe cos I’m doing lots of weights. I need to find some scales that measure body composition. I am almost two dress sizes down so that’s good!

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 10/02/2026 13:19

@cobblers00 yes always in a deficit, I log most days. The days I don't log tend to be the ones I know I have eaten even less. Weightloss does vary a bit for me, when I am on my period I always lose more! I do suffer from a bad stomach though on that week, always have done. I have lost every week since 1st Nov, lowest loss 1.2lb. I do think there are so many things that make a difference, incl exercise, often there is that catch up a week or so later also. I wouldnt say weight lifting should hinder weightloss though, it may stall it a bit but will then pick up. When I was lifting weights 3 times a week (heavy weights) I still always lost weight if in a calorie deficit.

I am always reviewing my TDEE to ensure my deficit is big enough as often thats something people forget.

Edited

Yeah my exercise is rubbish during the week. I walk the dog so get my steps in but I only usually get to the gym at a weekend. I joined the Ladder app a few months back but am not using it enough.

cobblers00 · 12/02/2026 16:38

so got on some swishy scales at the gym today & was pleasantly surprised.. 31% body fat & muscle mass is in the excellent zone. I’m pleased my increased weight training is paying off. So the focus now is to build more muscle & lose the fat!

Well done!
I had a chat with Chat Gbt last night. I feel like 9 and a half weeks in my weight loss is slowing down.
It asked for my height, age, problem areas (stomach fat) and goals.
According to it, this is common at this stage of Mounjaro and it said I should up my calories to 1600 with 100 grams of protein and do 3 thirty minutes weight training workouts per week.
Im not sure about upping my calories.. Feels wrong, but it must know what it’s talking about I guess.
Interested to see what others think?

cobblers00 · 12/02/2026 21:34

I have been told this too by trainer at gym. Body goes into starvation mode if in too much deficit for too long & it plays havoc with metabolic rate etc.. the trick I believe is to make sure those calories are high protein, low fat..

@cobblers00my pants are too big too! Smile And all
my bras! Reckon my days of 34 E / 36 DD are long gone, I’m not sure I could fill a c cup!

Lovingthelighterevenings · 13/02/2026 07:46

So I've had a couple of weird weeks - first one not eating a lot or balanced meals and not losing anything, and last week actually eating more balanced but more and a slight gain last week. I'm away for most of the next week (and not in control of food choices) but hopefully more steps than normal (although I feel like I have flu right now...). I'm thinking of going up a dose when I finish this pen - the side effects haven't been too bad. And there's a new gym opening in the village which I'll check out as I know I should do some weight stuff (although I think it may only be open mon-fri 7-7 so that won't work...)

Sorry if this has been asked but what needles are good for golden dose as can’t find any with actual needles attached on Amazon just the measuring bit.
also I’m terrified of trying to do the golden dose, any information would be appreciated x

SilenceInside · 15/02/2026 19:52

@user1479317972 you want ones like this from an online pharmacy not Amazon: https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

What are you terrified about with extracting the remaining medication?

user1479317972 · 15/02/2026 20:39

People mentioning infection , air bubbles , not being sterile .

SilenceInside · 15/02/2026 20:44

The risk of infection is no different to using the pen and a pen needle, if you use sterile single use syringes and follow the same process of wiping the pen with a swab before extracting. Air bubbles are not a risk, this is subcutaneous injection not an intravenous one. There is no risk of an air embolism if injecting subcutaneously. If you did inject some air it might result in a raised lump that’s sore for a bit, but nothing worse. You can also remove large air bubbles easily if you get any after extracting.

cobblers00 · 15/02/2026 22:01

Hi all,
Hope you’ve had nice weekends. If a little wet! Starting 5mg pen tomorrow & planning on doing 3.75mg at a time. Can anyone give me the number of clicks for that dose please? I can’t fathom those charts & it would save me scrolling back though all the threads! Thank you!!

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 15/02/2026 22:12

60 clicks is always a full dose from any strength pen. 3.75 is 75% or three quarters of the full dose of 5mg from your 5mg pen. So you need 75% or three quarters of the 60 clicks, which is 45 clicks.

So I failed on the golden dose as I blunted the insulin syringe when extracting so I’ve now ordered the ones with the removable needles. You use the longer one to extract the dose then swap to the smaller one.

Jab and weigh day for me today, was supposed to be yesterday but I was away for a wedding.
I must have done something right this last week because I’m another 4lb down.
My suppression is at its highest since week 1/2 and apart from a bit of a headache no terrible side effects… I did find I couldn’t stomach more than 3 glasses of wine at the wedding, definitely not usually a problem for me?
How is everyone else getting along.

4lb in a week is great! I’m only losing 1lb a week but lost an awful lot in the first couple of weeks now in week 8 it’s slowing down. Don’t really want to go up to 5 but might have to soon x
