Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

Just checking in to say that while I’ve had a pretty miserable week with some kind of virus, I have just seen a number on the scales that I haven’t seen since 2017! And I have had several long term attempts at dieting, all stalling out a few pounds higher than this.

I haven’t been able to exercise or eat much this week, so it may bounce around a bit, but wow.

cobblers00 · 30/01/2026 09:06

great stuff @StrongGirlsLift- hope you’re back to full fighting health too v soon.
im confused today. Scales shifted marginally to 69.6.. on googkectgst tells me 10st 9, but on my nutracheck app progress chart its translating to 10st 13??

@cobblers00 This gets me all the time - it's 10.9st but 10st and 13lbs.

StrongGirlsLift · 30/01/2026 09:40

I just can’t work in stones! It’s not instinctive to me at all. I usually weigh in pounds, but I have a lot of feelings attached to pounds weight. Kilos are useful for me as a sort of clinical weight - I have no emotional attachment to what kilo range I’m in. The Voy app tracks in kg, which helps.

Happy to be down in a new stones category though!

MrsTigerface · 30/01/2026 11:04

Morning all, finally an update from me post holiday.

What with one thing and another, I have not weighed for 4 weeks. This is unheard of for me, whilst trying to lose weight, and I haven’t liked the lack of access to the scales. I found a public scale in a shopping centre and was tempted, but then thought that it would weigh differently to mine and either have me elated or deflated, so skipped it.

Reading about everyone else’s weigh ins really helped, though x

Anyway, I am another 3lb down. I am not surprised in one way, as I didn’t eat much while we were away but (full disclosure) I did drink my body weight in red wine. Yes, I am another for whom Mounjaro does act as a booze deterrent 🍷🙂

So it’s 13lb now! Not displeased.

In other positive news, I have 2 used pens here and managed to get the 5th dose out of one of them this morning. It looked so easy and straightforward on the video I watched but I had a feeling it wouldn’t go to plan. I was pleasantly surprised when I managed it.

I can’t be the only person who is surprised that their lifelong weight struggle has them mucking about with needles in this way though 😳

My new (3rd) pen (5mg) arrived this week. I am going to try to get the 5th dose out of the second 2.5mg one next week, and consider after that if I want to increase dosage a wee bit, maybe to 3.75? We’ll see.

@StrongGirlsLift , You make an excellent point about weighing in kg taking emotion out of the process. I have a lifetime’s worth of baggage attached to stones and pounds, so perhaps I should give it a go.

10.9 is the 0.9 as a decimal (9/10ths of a stone) it is the same as 10st 13lbs as 13lb is 9/10ths of a stone (14lb)

StrongGirlsLift · 30/01/2026 13:29

You’ve done so well there @MrsTigerface to lose while travelling! Welcome back.

Thinking about being attached to certain weight measurements/thresholds: I do know at one stage in my early 20s that I weighed a teeny 52kg (from a job-related medical). That’s still only BMI 20 for me and I was training twice a day (weights, running, and three team sports). I never felt lean but did get a few comments that year (including from a nurse who wouldn’t let me give blood as she thought I was underweight - I was not!). But I’ve never really used kg so it doesn’t come with the baggage for me. In any case, that kind of training load isn’t possible or healthy for me at this life stage, so I won’t be aiming to get there again.

Still working on that pull up! (Not this week actually as I’ve been so wiped out by this lurgy).

I was like that for the 1st month and occasionally now and then since. I was generally trying to have a protein shake (powder one made with milk) but I couldn't stomach it. Someone on MN suggested clear whey instead and its amazing, lovely flavours and easy to stomach. I used MyProtein and you can get a sample pack with loads of flavours.

I dropped back down from 3.75mg as I was ill but stuck to it for now to see how it goes as overall I feel a lot better. Appetite suppression is ok and I still get full quickly so will see how it goes.

I’ve been slightly better with a small protein shake in a morning this week while on the 2.5. Will have a look at the clear protein but think a lot of them have sweetener in which I don’t like the taste of. I'm thinking of trying 3.75mg this week as I’ve been a bit hungrier.

ViciousChicken · 31/01/2026 08:51

I record my weight in kg these days but at the moment am converting to stones because I’m almost under 10st which will be a huge psychological boost when I get there!

This site does the proper kg to stones conversion (if you can get past the pop-up ads!). https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/body_weight/weight_converter.htm

I dont like sweetener but can't taste it in them, I actually didnt notice they contained them but just checked and they do. Maybe worth trying a variety pack to see. I have attached photos of ingredients.

Morning all! I agree @ViciousChicken, under 10st has a great ring to it! A ways off for me.

Jab 10 for me today, 1mg WG.
SW: 74kg
CW: 67.67kg
GW: 55kg?

I am 33% of the way there! I was reading an interesting piece on WG weight loss projections, which say losing 4-6% of body weight is projected between 8-12 weeks. I’m currently at 8.6% body weight loss - really happy to be marginally ahead. I haven’t been calorie counting, but I had already made adjustments to my food choices and was eating too much/panic snacking in the evening.

I have been really unwell this week and hardly out of bed, so I need to be prepared for a bounce back this week, I suspect.

StrongGirlsLift · 31/01/2026 09:17

This is the weight loss projection article I read: www.joinvoy.com/blog/wegovy-week-by-week

Thanks. I might try some. I do struggle hitting my protein targets as I’m not a big meat eater.

StrongGirlsLift · 31/01/2026 09:25

Oh my word, I just injected and gave myself an injection wheal - a hard white lump where the medication didn’t go into the fat enough!

I have been pressing quite hard and decided to be more gentle today. It’s already fading but I gave myself a fright! Will press more firmly again in future. Apparently, it will absorb over the next day or two.

When i went under 10 stone it was 9st 13.9 but I was still happy 😂 it is now just going down slowly, next target 9st7 then final target between 8st11 and 9st. If I can get to the gym moee consistently then 9st-9st 2 will be fine.

Can I sense check something?

The AI support on the VOY app is saying that anything in BMI 25 is a healthy weight, ie BMI 25.9 is in the healthy range. That’s not accurate, right? Healthy BMI is anything under 25, ie 24.99 and down?

I ordered from medicine marketplace for my next 1mg pen - the one I have now will run out while we’re away in February and was going to be a pain to sort out. I paid £75 less than Voy (which I can pause for a few weeks). Will report back how it goes; I needed to send a video and it’s being reviewed.

Thats strange, its definitely under 25, if ypu put in a weight that is dead on BMI 25 it still would say you're overweight.

I ordered from Lloyds for MJ yesterday, they were super efficient and didnt ask for any evidence at all. So strange how different they all are. I have used MedExpress, Lotus, Pharmacy 2u and Lloyds now.

With rhe exception of MedExpress they have all been great and dispatched pretty much immediately with next day delivery. ME were slow. Pharmacy 2u wanted a video for 1st one (for 1st order, nothing after that) Lotus needed a photo that was less than 30 days old then Lloyds absolutely nothing. My BMI is now 23.6 so I know some can be funny unless you are ordering regularly from them. I clicked the box to say inform GP as wasn't sure if that made a difference.

StrongGirlsLift · 01/02/2026 10:12

Thanks SFD, it is weird! It’s an AI summary of my progress I think. Yesterday it said I was only 0.1 away from a healthy BMI but today it says “you are only one point away”. (BMI exactly 26.0). It also seems to be set up for weekly weigh-ins so gets confused by my daily weigh results. Not a problem obviously, but something they should improve! I will look again as my weight drops.

Good to get feedback on other providers, especially those who handle people getting back into healthy BMI ranges.

There’s going to be a massive shift in the diet industry, isn’t there! WLI don’t “cure” so loads of people will be on them for ages. I was surprised to hear about someone who had bariatric surgery recently - for most people, I imagine WLI are less risky. What will happen to all the bariatric surgeons and specialists?

Interesting times!

ViciousChicken · 01/02/2026 18:57

Comedy moment for me this morning. I’d ordered some insulin syringes to extract the golden dose from my last pen. It was a bit tough to push the needle into the pen but I managed to extract more than enough. I then tried about 4 times to inject myself but the needle wouldn’t pierce my skin. Even got my husband to have a go and it just bounced off my tummy! I’m not sure if I’d damaged the needle getting it into the mounjaro pen or what. I couldn’t work out how to safely extract it into another syringe therefore ended up throwing it away and using a new pen. So annoying!

SilenceInside · 01/02/2026 19:01

@ViciousChicken you can get syringes where you can remove the needle and replace it with another. They’re called Luer Lock syringes and then you buy separate Luer Lock compatible needles. You can then extract with one needle, and then swap to a second for injecting.

Gardener82 · 01/02/2026 19:01

I managed to get the golden dose into an insulin syringe this morning and do jab number 9.
No weight loss this week but I started my period this morning and I hardly ever lose during this week.
I did go into H&M on Friday though and tried on a pair of size 12 tailored trousers that did up perfectly. 8 weeks ago I was having to force some of my size 14.

I also didn’t lose this week but there was cake and a meal out just yesterday so I’m not surprised. I’ve taken a 3.75mg dose today so hopefully it will work for me.
My non scale victory is I bought a pair of size 10 jeans today. The 12’s fit me really nicely but the 10s fastened ok and as they have lots of stretch were quite comfortable despite a bit of a muffin top. Thought it would motivate me to keep going too. I’m the same as you @Gardener82, 2 months ago my 14s were tight and now getting into 12s easily. (I should add the jeans are Fat Face whose sizing I feel is generous!).

ChristmasCalsDoCount · 01/02/2026 19:31

second week on 1mg Wegovy, I feel like the suppression has been strong but also had cake and a meal out yesterday so not sure if the scales will reflect this.
So far the only side effect I’d had was extreme cold but this week I’ve had really sensitive skin on my legs and head, similar to the feeling of sunburn. Apparently this is a known but rare side effect called allodynia. Hopefully it eases soon. Anyone else has this?

StrongGirlsLift · 02/02/2026 07:37

I hope the skin sensitivity stops soon, @ChristmasCalsDoCount, sounds unpleasant. I have had a couple of bouts of Raynauds in my fingers in the last month, and have never had that before!
