Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

Morning. You’re doing really well. What I’d give for a big poo too!
I’m definitely feeling less of an effect in this second week. Managing to stick to around 1500 cals a day but I could probably eat more. I wouldn’t say I’ve much food noise but if there’s food there I will eat it. I still get full more quickly but there are also times when I feel hungry. Will be interesting to see if I’ve lost when I weigh in on Sunday as I don’t really feel like I will have! Probably a sign I’ll be going up in strength next time.
It really is so different for everyone and it is a great thing but not an overnight thing either!

OMG I feel the same, I feel fine Sat-Mon, bloated tues-fri, go to toilet Fri then same pattern. I wish I could get more fibre in my diet, I am awful with it. If I was more regular my weight would definitely fluctuate less.

I took some senekot max a couple of weeks ago and I was in absolute agony with it about 2 hrs after, no idea why, I've never really taken medication like that before.

Any good recommendations for easy ways to increase fibre would be welcome 😂

cobblers00 · 19/12/2025 09:30

I take laxido every couple days to help get things moving, only cos got it in from when I was on iron tablets.. apparently psyllium husk is very good.

psillium husk. Awesome stuff, I swore by it when low carbing years ago Psyllium husk

SexyFrenchDepression · 19/12/2025 16:33

I have been taking psyllium husk for about a week now, haven't really noticed any effects at all from it yet but hopefully will do soon.

Hi all. Been feeling ok but v tired and suppression only v slightly noticeable. Def less inclination to binge unhealthy stuff though.

But just tried to administer my 3rd dose. I’m so rubbish with this pen. Fear of injections/ panic meant I pulled out the pen too quickly for first dose so think only partial dose. Last week I think I got it right. This week (full of cold/ heavy period/ stressed with work and not with it admittedly) I clicked the thing at the end to test the flow and no obvious bubble appeared on needle as with previous weeks. I don’t trust my squinty middle aged eye sight though and no one to ask so thought it must be me. Plowed on and lined up the 0.25 dose, put needle in and pressed end but it didn’t seem to do anything. No click. Didn’t go to zero - just stuck on the dash lines. Instructions said to contact supplier so I’ve done that but says 3-5 day response time 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Bit peed off that it’s like £25 down the drain and one week missed/ interrupting the process if I’ve messed this up. Anyone had similar? Not sure what to do but learning point is I think I need to order some spare needles - from where?! I think I should have swapped it out but then wouldn’t have had a needle for final dose as only given 4. Urgh. I really wish this was a nice straightforward pill.

Georock · 19/12/2025 21:46

Hi everyone, so I’ve ordered my pen after much debate! I can’t wait to start. My anxiety is through the roof. Has anyone experienced any hair loss on Mounjaro? That’s the jab I’ve ordered x

Are you on wegovy? There is a Novemver starters wegovy thread so someone on there may be able to help you with the specific pens?

Thx - yes on Wegovy - started beginning of this month so only 3rd week in.

StrongGirlsLift · 19/12/2025 21:57

Oh no @2026goals! I just wrote to my supplier (Voy) who are sending me more needles with my next order, just in case, but there are MN threads showing which spare needles work with the pens.

I am watching the instruction video every time - I’ve been so rushed and stressed, I keep thinking I will mess up. Ordered my next pen (0.5 Wegovy) early as it would have arrived while I will be away.

Yeah definitely worth posting on that thread then as they will have been going 5+ weeks now so probably have some good tips.

Good thinking! I will def see if I can do that with next order. I guess it’s a learning curve but I really find the pens fiddly. It doesn’t help that I’m trying to do it on the quiet as have teen kids at home and I’m constantly listening out for them as they often wander into my room at all hours.

How are you getting on so far?

StrongGirlsLift · 20/12/2025 08:49

Morning all!

Jab 4 this morning, my last on Wegovy 0.25. The app indicates I’ll hit a level of 0.5 in my body in two days, and the 0.5 pen is arriving soon for next week.

SW: 74kg
CW: 71.39kg
GW: 55kg (healthy range 49 to 65kg).
Measurements same as last week except 1cm off my hips.

A minuscule loss of only 0.18kg this week, so frustrating. I have had less appetite suppression and have been getting through more of my meals. No snacking to speak of.

BUT! It’s December and I will be happy not to put weight on this month; I must keep this in mind!

I’ll be at my parents’ house next week, where “treat food” is massive at this time of year - bowls of sweet food out everywhere, desserts x3 available at every meal, pastries for breakfast etc. One of the reasons I’m doing this is that I’m built a lot like my father, who is obese and had a major health incident last year. I thought it would scare him into losing weight, but he has only really lost the weight he lost at the time and has a lot more to go. I never ever want to end up in that situation, but I have the same risk factors.

Is anyone else facing big emotional eating factors over the next few weeks?

Backonthejab · 20/12/2025 09:27

Just done my 3rd jab. I was worried that a combination of this being my 2nd time on mj and the fact I have much less to lose this time around, that it wouldn't work so well but I've lost just over 1st in my first 2 weeks. Suppression is high but I do have some low level nausea which hopefully will abate soon. All in all, I'm glad I restarted. Only 1.5 stone to go!

Colinthedaxi · 20/12/2025 10:39

So,

SW 74.3
week one 71.3
CW 71.4

I really haven’t strayed this week apart from a small GnT last night so was really hoping to be sub 70kg! Hey ho, as @StrongGirlsLift says, it’s December. Onwards 🤞

Gardener82 · 20/12/2025 10:41

Second weigh in for me this morning and a smaller loss this week but still a loss is a loss.
SW 185lb
CW 178lb
GW 140lb
No terrible side effects and I feel less bloated.

SW 185lb
CW 178lb
GW 140lb
No terrible side effects and I feel less bloated.

Just did measurements and in the space of 2 weeks I’ve lost
1.5 inches from my stomach
1 inch from my bra line
2 inches around my bum
1 inch from my upper arm
1.5 inches from my thigh.
Happy with that.
Is everybody else planning to calorie count and jab this week?
I don’t know what to do. I’m going to my MIL tomorrow and there will be a ginormous buffet.
Mon I’m at a restaurant with friends.
Wednesday we’re all going to a Chinese and then we have Christmas Day and then I’m cooking a buffet for 10 on Boxing Day!!
Is it a waste of a jab to try and carry on in calorie deficit in these circumstances or should I enjoy Christmas food because it only happens once a year?

StrongGirlsLift · 20/12/2025 12:54

Well done on the inches loss @Gardener82 and right there with you @Colinthedaxi!

I am happy to jab and have some help managing portions, but I won’t be avoiding the occasional treat. I will have some tricky moments, I’m sure. If anyone points out my smaller plates I am just going to say “oh yes, it’s all so delicious, leaving space for pudding/seconds/whatever”. And if people persist then I think that’s their problem!

I think it’s so individual - I haven’t had terrible side effects and I’m just so eager to get towards goal that I don’t mind a few compromises this week. But everyone is different.

I’m currently cooking an enormous lentil veg soup recipe so I always have easy, soothing, nutritious food to hand - I’ll freeze some in small portions. Super cheap and full of fibre and protein, so all good.

Margaritawithlime · 20/12/2025 20:43

Well down a whopping 1lb this week which - given my rapid first two weeks - is actually more than fine. I don’t want gall stones or unmanageable crepey skin so I’m glad it’s slowed.
I’ve definitely found the suppression less this week - looking forward to moving up to 5mg next week really - Christmas will be a bit of a test but I’ve less of an urge to snack. Not saying I won’t. But less. And that will do me for now.

BelleEpoque27 · 20/12/2025 21:51

I did my third jab on Tuesday and it's been my best week yet - no side effects and high suppression. I delayed by a day as I had a work Christmas dinner, and I'm glad I did - was able to eat a normal portion, including roast potatoes, and enjoy it rather than feeling over-full. I'm doing the same this week and will delay until Boxing Day evening. This feels really manageable.

I've lost nine pounds, which is crazy and a bit faster than I'd like, to be honest! I think I need to eat a bit more earlier in the day - I'm so used to trying to intermittent fast and not eat until I'm starving that I'm not leaving myself enough hours to get enough nutritious food in.

rivercobbler · 21/12/2025 07:37

Hi all, thanks so much for sharing your experiences here. I have about 3 stone to lose. I have CFS so can't exercise with any intensity or regularity, really. Also approaching menopause. I'm hoping for slow weight loss over the next year or two, and hoping I won't end up with more energy problems as result of reducing food intake.

I've done my second 2.5 jab on Friday morning, and I'm finding it a little hard to tell whether certain things are side effects because my health is quite variable anyway. So I THINK (?) in the first couple of days both times it has given me some spots and a bit of achiness (like 'coming down with something' achiness), a slightly croaky voice until Sat eve. Then last time these went and I got more energy and some (not much) appetite suppression for about 4 days (until Tues eve). It was fairly noticeable when it wore off - I wasn't ragingly hungry but just noticed I had more of the urge to snack.

Not sure how much weight I've lost as I haven't really tracked as it is such early days and I don't think I've eaten that differently so far.

I predict that I will have to go up to 5 in order to see much effect. At the moment, I am most concerned about what happens when I eventually come off the jabs and how to manage appetite long term.

Florrieboo · 21/12/2025 22:09

I am 6 days in and last night I grabbed a few sweets from one of the kids while sitting on the sofa, didn't even think about it. I felt so awful afterwards, they sat so heavy in my stomach. Very strange feeling. I will weigh in tomorrow morning, and will do weekly I think instead of monthly, I don't think I have the patience for monthly. I haven't had a single piece of chocolate all week and haven't even thought about it.

cobblers00 · 22/12/2025 08:25

Morning all, & hello new starters!
So back from the ‘big weekend’ - I survived drinking far too much, just! Didn’t eat the healthiest food, but also didn’t eat lots of it.. so was delighted to get on scales this morning and see another 1lb off despite all that. Jabbed last night but still woke up a little hungry so perhaps the 2.5 is wearing off a little. Hope everybody is finished up and ready for Xmas now?? Who’s cooking and how are we all feeling about the big day?!

Margaritawithlime · 22/12/2025 08:37

Just making my shopping list now @cobblers00 am sure I’ve forgotten something! Everyone is at mine again this year so I’m cooking for 10. Seafood to start and then the usual Christmas dinner. I’m not a pudding person really but I am nervous about the cheese. It’s my kryptonite… ah well. It’s one day and honestly I usually am so happy to get everything on the table in a semi warm state I rarely want to eat much. That’s been the case for years even without jabs. I just feast on adrenaline and contentment (and cheese)
Did another cheeky weigh today and am stuck firm at the weight I hit at the weekend. It’s so interesting. Usually I’d be fluctuating all over the shop but it seems my body wants to hold firm and recalibrate. I’m trusting the process.

Gardener82 · 22/12/2025 10:46

Morning everyone, I decided to jab on Saturday instead of taking the week off for Christmas. I doubt I’ll lose this week because my dining table will look a lot like M&S food hall but hopefully I won’t gain either.
I went to my MIL yesterday and she’d put on a massive buffet, I ate some but a lot less than I normally would.

Letsstartnow · 22/12/2025 14:31

Second jab today. Can't say I noticed much difference last week, and I've put on a pound so feeling a bit flat about the whole thing - but decided to carry on instead of taking a break over Christmas, might as well see how I go!

Hopefully I'll feel it a bit this week as it accumulates in my system
