Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

I'm kind of regretting delaying this week's jab - should be tomorrow, but my suppression is minimal and I'm fancying sugary stuff again (although not as much as usual). I just absent-mindedly ate some of my child's chocolate while I was doling it out to him.

I don't want to risk jabbing tomorrow and not being able to eat on Christmas Day though, as last week on days 2 and 3 I didn't want to eat at all. I suppose at least I know this isn't the beginning of the end of the diet, as I know it would be with a normal diet. I can just get back on with it on Boxing Day. Still rather unsettling though, to realise when the medication wears off my brain/cravings/appetite are immediately back to normal 🤦

cobblers00 · 22/12/2025 22:34

@BelleEpoque27i know what you mean.. jabbed last night & def much lower suppression than previous weeks (this was week 4).. I’ve not been wanting to eat huge meals but have felt peckish all day & been nibbling more & thinking about food more too. I’ve got a whole new 2.5 pen to start next week so it’ll be an interesting month & I fear my hopes of staying on lowest dose might have been naive!

BelleEpoque27 · 22/12/2025 22:55

@cobblers00 Yes, I think I might end up going up to 5mg eventually. Not yet though, my new 2.5mg pen arrived yesterday! I'm happy to have good suppression for a few days and eat more towards the end of the week, as I don't want to go too fast.

It really is fascinating feeling how it works!

ViciousChicken · 22/12/2025 22:55

Hi everyone. Had my third jab on Sunday. Lost 5.7lb in the first two weeks which isn’t bad.
I’m not sure how my appetite suppression is - I don’t really want breakfast but force a bit down. I don’t think about food much if it isn’t there, and I get full quite quickly. But if there’s food in front of me (like today’s work buffet) I can keep eating for a while, and the sweet tooth definitely hasn’t gone!
It means I will probably not lose this week but should at least be able to enjoy most of my favourite food over Christmas.
Still not sure whether to stick to 2.5 or go up to 5 when I re-order…

Florrieboo · 22/12/2025 23:48

My health insurance covers a good portion for me so I have gone ahead and ordered a second 2.5 even though I have only done one jab of my first 2.5. My limits reset on Jan 1st so I want to get one more into this years budget.
So much food about at this time of year I am not as interested as usual, not really interested at all to be honest but I did wake up hungry today which was a first since I started. Today is the day I do my injection so I guess that makes sense. I had a protein yogurt and had to stop half way through as I was just so full. Second dose tonight and then first weigh in tomorrow morning, which doesn't really make much sense but that is what I did last week, so I should probably stay consistent.

Foodylicious · 23/12/2025 17:25

So had 2nd Jab on Sunday
Had a half dose 1st week, and about a 3/4 dose on Sunday
4lbs down in 8 days so doing okay.
Bit of nausea still. Went out for lunch yesterday (club sandwich &small side chips). Only ate abiut half and felt like I had to make myself eat that.
Just had a small sandwich for tea and a biscuit size toffee crisp later

Today Ive been to the cinema with kids and met a friend with her kids there.
Had a pre packaged pain au chocolat, that I had to make myself eat (ate in 2 halfs and was okay once I started). About half a sandwich for lunch, and have managed 4 Christmas chocs this afternoon.
Still getting used to the not feeling like food feeling, and struggling to recognise when I'm hungry.

Florrieboo · 24/12/2025 01:22

I am not making myself eat things I don't want, I just can't see the point of it. I am making sure to eat "healthy" things and get my calories in but chocolates etc don't appeal right now so I am not bothering.

ArtesianWater · 24/12/2025 07:04

I've had a really patchy start with MJ. I got on very well in the first week. Then I paused for a week because I was travelling heavily for work and worried about side effects. So I did my second week last week and it went well. I'm due to jab again tonight but am worried that it'll spoil Christmas Day if I have side effects or am unable to eat properly (my family don't know I'm doing it and my mum would hate it). Should I do the jab tonight or delay by one day? I don't want to keep delaying it but Christmas is an important time of year.

I am ordering 2.5 again for my second month to make up for the patchy start, even though I've had very few side effects and would like to keep going up.

Edited to add: Suppression is not that low for me anymore so I do need to keep going if I want the effects.

BelleEpoque27 · 24/12/2025 08:28

Personally I'm jabbing (4th jab) on Boxing Day, which is a two day delay. I still have some suppression today but it's lessening, and my cravings are back in full force. I ate quite a lot of chocolate yesterday and felt the same way as before MJ, like I just couldn't stop thinking about it and going back for more.

I'm really quite looking forward to doing my next jab 😂 But I know if I'd done it yesterday as I should have I wouldn't have been able to eat Christmas dinner.

My only word of caution is that I'd want a clearish system, because when I jabbed on a fairly full stomach before I had stomach cramps and diarrhea. Hence why I'm doing Boxing Day and not Christmas Day evening.

StrongGirlsLift · 24/12/2025 09:37

Hey all, happy Christmas Eve, and hope everyone is feeling well, whatever your WLI plan over the holidays.

I just need a minute to grumble - I am in week four and have been the same weight for 12 days, give or take half a pound. And I’m so mad about it! No snacks, booze, second servings, mince pies at all in this time, and plenty of exercise. I felt sure this morning I’d see a lower number, but nope. I haven’t pushed past feelings of fullness at all.

I usually have a 200kcal high protein/chia/fruit yoghurt breakfast (or nothing), have had (eg) lentil soup or egg mayo sandwich for lunch, then a veg focused evening meal (really limiting any cheese etc). I cannot be eating more than 1200kcal, not eating back exercise calories etc, and I’ve felt a bit wobbly/dizzy at times.

I’m aware that I’ve hardly pooped though, despite focusing on fibre and green veg etc. Should I be trying to remedy this do you think? Not usually an issue for me so I haven’t tried anything!

I’d skip a day and jab on Boxing Day, might aswell enjoy your Christmas Dinner.
I get what you mean about not wanting others to know, people are so judgmental.

Are you tracking your calories and nutrition ? That doesnt sound like a huge amount of protein, probably a fair amount of carbs in comparison. It could be so many reasons.

I am the same, i definitely dont have enough fibre and the days I feel bloated my weight doesnt shift much. I definitely need to sort it out in the new year! I have been taking psyllium husk but it doesnt seem to be doing much at all. I dont feel particularly constipated either though.

Ah good point, I was considering xmas day evening (due xmas day morning) but I think I will leave till friday morning.

StrongGirlsLift · 24/12/2025 12:29

Good point @SexyFrenchDepression - I’m veggie, so protein is tough, but usually I have 20g protein in yoghurt, plus the stuff I add in, and I add tofu to salads, grated fried tofu on soup etc. After exercise I take a protein shake that’s 98kcals and 20g. I do struggle with protein but have been veggie for over 25 years and really couldn’t cope with meat or fish. Hmm. Might need a bit more meal planning than is currently happening.

On the October thread one poster discussed having additional calories when they plateaued and then they started losing weight. She used chat gbt to get the idea from and it appears to have worked.

PersephoneSmith · 24/12/2025 12:36

I’ve had my 4th jab on Monday and I’m hungrier this week too. Unfortunately I had already decided to stay on 2.5 for another month because of the migraines so I’m not moving up yet.
It was never going to be a quick fix for me though so slow and steady will be fine.

StrongGirlsLift · 24/12/2025 12:49

Thanks for the tip! I think some extra calories are likely over the next couple of days, so I’ll have a proof of concept 😅.

@PersephoneSmith hope the migraines ease up for you. You will note from my prior posts that I said I’d just be happy not to gain over Christmas and I just wanted to get started, but obviously I am impatient and want to see results for my efforts 🤷🏻‍♀️. And it is still an effort on 0.25 for sure! I think I’m going to start my 0.5 on Boxing Day. I’ll be driving up to my family and it’ll be a food fest, so it’s a bit of a gamble, but I don’t want to delay and I don’t want to store my pen in their fridge, so it’ll be a day early and I’ll just have to cope.

ArtesianWater · 24/12/2025 12:57

This is such a helpful thread. I think I am also going to push this evening's jab out til Boxing Day evening too. That way I know I will be well for the two days with family and it will also shift my 'jab day' to a Friday, which will be more convenient longer-term. I guess I will have to see December as a kind of warm-up month for MJ, which is fine when I am playing a long game!

Margaritawithlime · 24/12/2025 17:34

I’m down a stone total now thanks to a weird shift over the last two days even though I’ve definitely drunk more calories over the weekend than previously this month since starting. I’ll take it but not sure it’s sticking around. I’m trying just to eat better and not worry too much. Sure there’s been the odd chocolate but so much less picking than usual and I’m making better choices every time I can. (Did not get mcd’s with family today and ate soup dumplings instead. I’d like my halo now thanks!)
5mg on Saturday so interested to see how that hits me!

cobblers00 · 24/12/2025 20:24

Happy Xmas eve all- into the breach we go!!! I’ve had 2 meals out in 2 days, each time felt uncomfortably full afterwards despite eating a fraction of what I would usually & barely any carbs .. tracking cals best i can & think I’ve not gone too far over 1200 each day thanks to some exercise thrown in too. I would t be surprised if I don’t lose this week but that’s ok- as someone else said dec was always going to be a bit hit & miss & im looking forward to the gluttony of the season to be over so we can be ‘watching what we’re eating’ like everyone else!! Happy Xmas. Let’s all catch up on the other side!

Evening all. I am due to start Wegovy before the end of Dec. Any useful pieces of advice from those on it?

Foodylicious · 24/12/2025 20:59

Sounds like you all have good plans in place.
Good tip re not jabbing after eating alot, wasn't aware of that.
Have been jabbing late morning after a small breakfast and not had the runs so far, so will keep on with that.
Didn't really have an appetite at all today, so didnt have breakfast or lunch, just 4 chocolates (were out at sisters house) over about 3 hrs this afternoon.
Decided I could manage a crisp and salad cream sandwich for tea (I know lol), then added in some cheese and did enjoy it once I started eating.
I've got some lovely food in for tomorrow, and will be making sure I have some of it all in small portions accross the day.
Merry Christmas everyone!

StrongGirlsLift · 24/12/2025 21:30

Merry Christmas all, hope all goes swimmingly!

Thank you great advice - I'll do the same I think as due to jab today but will delay until end of Boxing Day as jabbing on full system doesn't sound good. At least we get to enjoy tomorrow!
