I like the tofu idea as well.

Made NYTimes saag paneer lasagne tonight.

Nice, but not really worth all the effort. Next time will just do the saag paneer and have it with some rice.

Also dropped by the other gym, they had a bodycombat type of class, which was quite ok, got heartrate up to 186, not bad.

Polkadotdash · 09/12/2025 21:54

The curse of the DPD ban strikes again. I picked Bolt as not only were they the cheapest but they offered Royal Mail delivery. They’ve sent my dispatch note this afternoon and for some unknown reason they have switched to sending it by DPD. So that will just get sent back to them. That will be the third pen that’s been wasted by DPD. It’s criminal. And it just sucks up so much bloody admin time. Grrrrr.

HeidiLite · 09/12/2025 22:10

oh how annoying, @Polkadotdash ! And when you chose them specifically because of Royal Mail option.

2025istheyeari · 10/12/2025 06:08

Morning losers!
Glad your brother has some answers @Jins, I’d be like you wanting to get answers now, but I guess we’re all different and hopefully he’ll be feeling much better after his antibiotics. Well done on the weight loss too, good to have a buffer for Christmas!

hope DH ok @DGonMJ
Love the tofu tip @discov,genius!

@HeidiLiteI’d never thought of it that way, I’d need to gain 53%, wow that’s so motivating ( and slightly sobering!!).

Hope party was good @Aimingdown!

@Zempythey're some mighty impressive stats! You must be tiny, bet you feel amazing!!

@Polkadotdash😱so annoying!!

I'm back on track, and feeling much better, was hungry yesterday but made sensible choices. 3 pounds to drop to get to lowest weight and 6 1/3 to get to 6 stone, I’m staring to think I don’t need to do that. Like @DGonMJI think my brain doesn’t register how slim I am now. Feeling a bit meh here, not sleeping very well, weather bloody awful and not being able to drive and go and do things is getting to me. Also missing the social interaction of work very much. Saying that im seeing friends today, tomorrow and Friday so that should sort me out!!
Have a great Wednesday .

BlueLimes · 10/12/2025 06:15

Sorry you are feeling meh @2025istheyeari the job hunting is stressful, also time of year not always joyful.

Have a great days I’m still hovering at 9.2, trying to have a final push to see if can get in the 8s.
@Zempy is a super responder!

2025istheyeari · 10/12/2025 06:44

Thanks @BlueLimesI’ll be ok, just feeling a bit sorry for myself and need to shake myself off!! Going to put some nice, small clothes on and do my hair and make up after opening my advent of course!
Great news on your weight loss and wow the 8s, I’d never get into single figures on the scales! Good luck.

BlueLimes · 10/12/2025 06:54

@2025istheyeari good plan- hope it’s a good advent treat today. I had a lip gloss, a little serum and something I’ve no idea what it is …

8s - I’m only 5f3 and small boned, so think I should be …

Zempy · 10/12/2025 07:01

Thanks fellow losers. I don’t always see myself as small but I must be!

Work Christmas lunch today. 80% of the people there haven’t seen me aside from Teams head shots for a year. I’m hoping to get some positive feedback!

Jins · 10/12/2025 08:02

Morning all!

My temperature regulation seems to be reaching ‘normal’ as I’m starting to feel cold which hasn’t happened for years and I’m not overheating from minimal physical tasks any more. So my chance of being in the first team of menopausal women to summit Everest without coats has slipped away from me. I’ve treated myself to a polar fleece nightdress and what a fabulous night’s sleep I’ve had. I’ve got fleecy PJs but I prefer bare legs in bed. It has to be said that I look a bugger in it but I don’t care.

I’m jabbing today, a day early. Everything went well until the evening tbh. I made the hello fresh jerk king prawn pilaf which was lovely then an hour later we decided to test the carte d’or baileys ice cream to see if it earns a place at the Xmas table (it does). That set me off so I tried grapes and clementine which wasn’t the answer so ended up with some fruit and nut chocolate and a handful of drumstick squashies. This is 100% down to festive food temptation. I definitely need MJ to help with this situation.

Fridge freezer remains in the centre of the kitchen so it looks like I’ll lose my bet with DS2. I’d weighed up what was left and added a day but i was wrong. We have until midnight so I’m not conceding defeat yet.

I love this group. I really enjoy reading every post. We’ve all come so far

HeidiLite · 10/12/2025 08:15

@Zempy I know, I still don't see me as slim. In yesterday's gym class, there was a woman who was very slim and fit, I thought. Then saw us side by side in the mirror and was astonished to see that I was slimmer and certainly more muscular and shredded. Weird. In my head I'm still a bulky, heavy set person.

myladyjane · 10/12/2025 08:24

Morning

weigh in day today and I have lost 2lb and over 4.5 stone now. 7lb to goal. Using @HeidiLite measure I would need to regain 40% of my current weight.

I am not 100% sure today’s weight will stick mind. My tickly throat turned into the worst cold I have had in years and I’ve been shitting through the eye of a needle and totally off my food. Have had to cancel my Christmas lunch and am semi off work (will log in for an hour or two to clear some urgent stuff then back to bed).

Tofu in soup is a good idea, will try that. I use it to make chocolate mousse sometimes and that works well.

Jins · 10/12/2025 08:35

Sorry to hear you aren’t well @myladyjane. There seems to be so many bugs around this year.

I’m starting to feel smaller and if I’m wearing the right trousers I look positively skinny but my top half is still rather robust. I’ve still got plenty of belly fat but it’s finally starting to shift. It’s always the last to go despite being the first place I want it to go from. I think it takes a while to adjust, much longer than you expect. I still feel like the fat one in a group which I need to work on.

CurlsandCurves · 10/12/2025 08:36

Morning!
@2025istheyeari sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit meh, hope the meet ups with friends lift your mood.
@Polkadotdashthats so annoying!
Enjoy your Christmas lunch @Zempy, hope you get lots of positive comments!
@Jinsi am liking the sound of that Carte D’or ice cream, may have to investigate….

Im feeling ok after jabbing 6.25 on Monday night. But I don’t think I’ll be making it up to 12.5 on Friday as my stomach is still feeling a little delicate, still can’t eat loads so I don’t want to push it. I am conscious that I’m not getting much in way of fruit and veg, need to work on that. I’ve got some greens powder that I’ve got out of the habit of taking, I should get some of that down me I reckon.

Meeting a friend for brunch this morning. Then this evening I’ve got a consultation for some possible work on my face. Thinking of going for microneedling to freshen me up a bit, I feel like I need something. Possibly Botox as well which I’ve had in the past. I’ve a big birthday coming up in the new year so this is an early present to myself.

HeidiLite · 10/12/2025 10:08

sorry to hear @myladyjane , indeed many bugs around this time of year. Hope you recover soon.

@CurlsandCurves ask if they do HarmonyCA, I had it last spring, really liked the result

MJalltheway · 10/12/2025 10:57

I've been looking at microneedling as well @CurlsandCurves but more for getting a home one to do myself. I have very sensitive skin on my face though so that's put me off so far.

after 3 days of the same weight, I'm ready to call it - I've officially now lost 30kg!!! 🤯
Only a couple of targets left to hit - reaching 40 as my metabolic age (currently on 41), reaching a healthy body fat percentage (still a while off for this) and reaching final target of 70kg (800g to go!)

i realise this too in classes @HeidiLite , I'm now one of the slim ones at the front doing the harder version of all the exercises!

Aimingdown · 10/12/2025 11:32

I’ve been feeling a bit fat/then very fat for at least the last 30 years, so yes I’m also finding it hard to adjust. I constantly find myself looking around gym classes and comparing myself, hope nobody thinks I’m a complete weirdo! I genuinely don’t think that I actually look particularly skinny now if you didn’t know what I looked like before, just very normal, which is nice. I think I also imagine that if I’ve put on a kilo, I’m back to my starting size.

myladyjane · 10/12/2025 12:11

@MJalltheway @CurlsandCurves I have posted before but I do home micro needling. I have pretty good skin for my age (thanks genetics) but I think this helps - I think it’s helped with the turkey neck.

myladyjane · 10/12/2025 12:14

Also o never thought I was as big as I was oddly. Lots of kidding myself. But I’m now finding clothes hard - I will pick up a 16 and hope I squeeze into it. It falls off

HeidiLite · 10/12/2025 12:18

I definitley suffered from weight blindness. Photos from my last year's office party popped up, the ones I took myself, I was quite happy how slimming and flattering the velvet dress was, thought I looked actually really good!
I looked like a (large) sack of spuds. In velvet.

meatyryvita · 10/12/2025 13:39

I suffered from serious weight blindness too - I look at pictures from last year and oh my goodness, I was really quite big and my face was enormous.

My size 12 Sezane (small French sizing I hope!) trousers arrived and they fit like a dream! No stretch to them either.

I've checked my stats and I've lost nearly 31 kilos and just shy of having lost 31% of my starting weight!

Well done everyone - I hope we're all feeling so proud of ourselves!

@MJalltheway and @meatyryvita 30kg is an outstanding amount to have lost. 👏

and a small Christmas miracle happened in that DPD actually delivered my pen! Not sure why this has happened. May be it’s a fluke in that they forgot they hated our house or something. But it arrived. Hurrah!

meatyryvita · 11/12/2025 06:30

Thank you @Polkadotdash and what Christmas joy WRT your pen! Brilliant news!

Jins · 11/12/2025 06:49

My 16.3kg or 2st 8lbs loss isn’t in the same league but I feel so much better for it. Some of the losses that others have achieved in just under a year are staggering. We should all be proud.

Taking a dose a day early has stopped my mindless eating in its tracks and yesterday I ate only what I’d planned plus one single square of fudge from a bag placed next to me. No will power required.

In other news I’m getting the Tesco Ugg Tasman dupes for Christmas from DS1. I know this because he asked for hints and then asked me to get them using my colleague card. There’s 25% off slippers in Tesco at the moment so by the time I used my discount £15 became £9. I love being able to share DS2s employee benefits. It’s saved an awful lot over the years

2025istheyeari · 11/12/2025 07:01

Agree @Jins, we’ve all come a long way, all on our own journeys and should all be really proud! I’m doing the same today, taking a dose a day early as had another mindless eating day yesterday, what’s going on🫣. I’ve also contacted Oushk as I may go back up to 10 for a while, and their silly site isn’t applying the maintenance discount, I would move to Bolt but we go away on Wednesday and I want to delay delivery until new year ( and make sure I get it prebooked in case they’re inundated!).
I intend to have a strict word with myself and try to understand what’s going on with this eating, it’s worrying me. I’m not doing what old me would and think sod it im going away in a week so I’ll just eat everything in sight.

Hope work party was good @Zempy
and that you’re feeling better @myladyjane, sounds horrid.

@CurlsandCurveshope brunch was nice and consultation went well?

@MJallthewayamazing!! @meatyryvitaenjoy the trousers!

@Polkadotdashyay a Christmas miracle indeed, great news!!

Right, off to jab, may try my stomach for the first time ever and see if that works better!!

Happy Thursday!

Zempy · 11/12/2025 09:12

Get well soon @myladyjane. I am scared of getting one of these December viruses!

Well done @MJalltheway that is brilliant.

I received many compliments at work party. Generally people didn’t believe I had been five stone heavier last time they saw me. I think that is just people normalising being overweight?

I had three glasses of wine and gained a pound. I can shift that easily this week though. I’m having a facial today! It was a birthday present that I hadn’t got around to booking. Maybe my turkey neck will disappear with the right cream!! 🤣
