But can you resist Frangelico @HeidiLite? I find that much more more-ish than Baileys (and don’t get me started on home-made eggnog. No really, don’t)
I actually think there’s some truth in your theory in that if we are trying to retrain ourselves then a day or two of over-eating doesn’t become a habit like it would if we over-eat a bit every day over a longer period?

HeidiLite · 07/12/2025 16:40

I've never tried, @Aimingdown But will check it out.

Thelittlestranger · 07/12/2025 18:03

Agree with that - a little every day becomes a habit. A lot over a few days is a binge.

Also aware that I crave food in the few days coming up to my period and happy to indulge. Just like, because I went for a run today, I know I can have some crisps and it not be the end of the world....

@RockyisMYRhino sorry you've had a rough time, and I hope it improves x

RockyisMYRhino · 07/12/2025 21:37

Thanks all you lovely ladies! I have an appointment at the gp on Tuesday to discuss a few things so here’s hoping it’s all on the up from here now. In other good news I’m now at either the same or similar ( I honestly can’t remember) weight as I was when I fell pregnant for the first time 8 years ago 😱😱😱😱😱

2025istheyeari · 08/12/2025 06:02

Hi losers, happy Monday!!

@RockyisMYRhinosorry to hear you’re having tough times, really hope the GP can help. Well done on getting back to pre pregnancy weight, that’s brilliant!!
@Polkadotdashonly a stone to go, that’s fantastic! You’ve had quite the year with your hysterectomy so I think you should be really proud of yourself.

@CurlsandCurvesno way! Is it worth speaking to a gp to see if you need a test do you think if it’s now been a couple of weeks? Hope you’re feeling better.

@BreezyPeerwow sounds like things are going really well, so pleased for you! Hope Saturday was amazing?

@Jinshope your brothers appointment goes ok today and fingers crossed for him.

@cloudjumper, wow, 3 peaks with the kids sounds amazing!

@myladyjanests is great considering you’ve been away and eating out. Hope you feel the benefits of HRT quickly, it’s been amazing for me, I can actually string a sentence together sometimes 🤣. Hope you’re feeling better and that Christmas fun day was lovely!

@PenelopesProteinPackedPartyhouse viewings sound stressful, don’t compromise on what you want, if a cottage garden is important will you really be happy in an apartment? Hope you enjoyed the film, on my watchlist for tomorrow! Ooh when do you go on holiday? Have a great time. Have you done your measurements recently? I’ve done that when I’ve not lost and sometimes been amazed, sounds like that’s definitely what’s happened for you which is brilliant! Agree with @DGonMJon trying a higher dose. If you’ve only got a stone to go it could be just what you need? The chicken dish you shared sounds amazing, I’ve saved that thanks!

@DGonMJ, cooking sounds fab! Hope DH surgery goes ok. I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night hot over the past week but not sweaty, hope you’re ok.

@Thelittlestranger hope lunch nice and that DH feeling better, go you on the Christmas shopping!! Also amazing that you’re happy with your body, MJ is incredible isn’t it!

@HeidiLiteyou continue to inspire me with your exercise and strength. Weights on my Christmas list and next year is the year for me!! Hope you enjoyed your illegal activities yesterday 🤣. I completely agree with your theory, I think it’s about the odd day or two and then getting back on track. I’ve had a terrible 5 or so days, ( as @Thelittlestrangersaid, it’s definitely been a binge) mostly because I’ve had wine and then all
sensibility goes out of the window. I worried myself yesterday as I was literally eating anything in sight, I wasn’t hungry. I’ve weighed this morning at my heaviest weight for a good few months ( in the context of pretty much maintaining) and now I’m determined. Food delivery last night with lots of protein and vegetables . Lunch today is prawn salad, dinner is chicken with chilli and basil and stir fried tenderstem and mushrooms. I’ve got 10 days until I go away and I’m determined. I just don’t know what caused this binge after being so in control all year. I’m wondering whether I need to go back to weekly jabs for now to see me through to January and figure out what on earth is going on. Has anyone else had this?! Posting this really for accountability, I know what I need to do and I actually feel so much better knowing I’m going to be eating healthily. I had more bloody Baileys last night and seriously considering throwing the rest away!

@tinyemmythats not good on the pen! Hope you sort it. I don’t like using syringes either, I used one on Friday and I’m really not sure I got much out which could partly account for my complete wild abandonment this weekend…

@BlueLimessorry again on the pm, seems messaging doesn’t work in the app! Oxford day sounds lovely. Thanks on ROH, it was lovely! How’s your weight loss going?

sorry that was a long post and hope I got everyone! So great to read all the stories and wha an incredible year we’ve all had!

HeidiLite · 08/12/2025 06:14

@2025istheyeari same here, just could not stop snacking yesterday and I didn't even have any wine. Maybe it's just the winter and body thinks it needs all the fat for hibernation? We will have an unusual heat wave here (15 degrees today) so maybe that will help a bit? If not, will jab a little extra mid-week, as I have 3 Xmas parties this weekend.

BlueLimes · 08/12/2025 06:32

@2025istheyeari don’t worry, I said the same on as the pm 🤣
Ive had 2 meals out this weekend and had Christmas chocolates - I’ve 9 days until my work drinks so I’m going to be good, I think @HeidiLite is correct, better to have a few days off than the whole of December 😳
Id be tempted to jab @2025istheyeari and reduce in January.
hope you appointment goes well @RockyisMYRhino

2025istheyeari · 08/12/2025 06:37

I think you’re both right! And at least we know and know what to do. We can keep each other accountable on here! I’m going to jab on Wednesday eve and then again next Wed morning before we fly in the evening. Not taking MJ away so again will have 2 weeks off. We land back on New Year’s Eve morning, not sure whether I’ll jab that day or the next but will figure it out. I’m not going to worry too much on holiday and with my mum, sister and nephew all of whom are exercise freaks so we’ll definitely be active!

Zempy · 08/12/2025 08:38

Bloody forgot to jab last night! In London today so I will have to jab tonight. I am still getting the odd dizzy spell on my 6.25 dose, but suppression is just right for maintenance. 8:4 weight today.

I dare not reduce dose this close to Christmas but maybe I will try in the new year.

Get well soon to all the poorly people, and 🤞 for your brother @Jins

MJalltheway · 08/12/2025 09:19

I've had the same this weekend @2025istheyeari . I've had chips from the chip shop, lots of chocolates, home made bread and no fruit at all! And yet this morning I was down half a kilo?! Baffled.
I'm continuing on with 12.5mg dosing throughout Christmas, I imagine I will start to taper down in January.

felt really fed up yesterday, usual Christmas stresses building up. Hoping for a better day today.

Jins · 08/12/2025 09:20

Morning all!

I’m not impressed with my 5mg dose at all. Yesterday I woke up ok but started feeling hungry at 10am and didn’t stop feeling hungry all day. Sadly that translated into eating copious amounts of utter shite. I’ve spent some time looking at levels on the calendar on Shotsy and have discovered that they actually seem to fall each week on the same dose which was unexpected. The day after my first 5.8mg dose my estimated level was 8.51mg but 4 weeks later it was 7.98mg on the day after. So rather than it building up in my system it seems to be falling by about 0.2mg even without titrating down.

It’s a tricky time right now and I’m very prone to treating stress levels by comfort eating so I’m seriously considering a top up jab today. I’m at goal and BMI 22 so losing a little more wouldn’t be a problem. I’m going to increase my dose through December and titrate down on my January 10th anniversary.

Quiet day at home today and I need to get on top of things as we’re rocketing through December and I’m yet to write my first list. The DSs have always been amused that my solution to life’s issues always start with writing a list. Presents are sorted for immediate family and we don’t buy for adults nowadays so I’ve just got my brother’s kids to buy for.

Hope the week treats you all well! I really appreciate your support and even though I’m not acknowledging each post they help a lot. You really are the best bunch of losers!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 08/12/2025 10:15

Morning all, well I ate far too much of the chicken thing yesterday but didn't eat much else, skipped my baked plums with star anise and clotted cream (divine and a dessert is a sunday treat usually).

@2025istheyeari I think my problem is that I could move anywhere within a 30 mile radius, IF I want to move DC away from their friends, although everyone is at uni so part of me wonders why I am worrying about that. The kids (DS in particular) keep telling me to move where I want to and not to worry about them, but I am torn.

Away Thursday to Wednesday 😍looking forward to it. I think I will stick on the same dose this week as I don't want to be under par when I am travelling, maybe increasing it when I get back.

I don't have any advice re jabbing and eating for you as I haven't been there. Who knew that Baileys was so calorific. I'm planning on having a drink with dinner each night when I am away, other than that I don't drink anymore, which is incredibly good value 😅. In fact when I went to Majestic for some drinks to have in the house for when people pop in the other week I had not been for almost a year. I might do an order for some non alcoholic lager/pale ale from the Ilkley brewery in case I fancy one. I can recommend their Maiden Mary which is gorgeous.

HeidiLite · 08/12/2025 10:33

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty tell me more about those plums?

But listen to your kids, they don't need to live next door to their friends any more to keep the friendships.

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 08/12/2025 10:45

Thanks @HeidiLite . I know you are right (as are they), I literally do not know where I want to live. Imagine drawing a 30 mile radius and having the pick of city, village, market town, dales or moors - cottage to house to flat to small city apartment - it could be anything, anywhere and my brain is a bit fried looking. I also like the amenities where I live but houses are more expensive here. I don't know what I want tbh.

Plums, I halve two plums per person, squeeze the juice of a large blood (or ordinary organge) over six plums, add three or four star anise and grate a good portion of nutmeg into the orange juice, sprinkle over about a tablespoon of dark muscavado sugar and put them in the oven for half an hour or a bit longer depending on what temperature it is on for whatever dinner needs. Sometimes I reduce the liquid at the end if I can be bothered, most of the time I don't. Serve with yoghurt, ice cream or clotted cream for pudding. Good with porridge too or one plum and yoghurt with a few oats for breakfast.

Thelittlestranger · 08/12/2025 10:59

Stewed plums is currently on my hit list - delicious.

Had a Christmas coffee yesterday afternoon (double shot of baileys) and realised that 50 mls of baileys is the same as a glass of champagne...

Loving the accountability. I'm not loosening the reins too much until Xmas eve. I'm ok with that, as I feel they are fairly loose on the weekend anyway nowadays.

I am very keen for work to be done for the year.

HeidiLite · 08/12/2025 11:49

Oh I can't wait for Xmas break, work is absolutely mad and everybody wants to wrap up a ton of things before end of year. But most people I support have a few projects that they know from inside out. Then they all end up on my desk meaning I need to have an opinion about a 1000 projects..
A guy asked me today about something we discussed in February 2024, he still remembered, I have no clue 😁

Zempy · 08/12/2025 12:07

I will be making plum crumble for the family sometime over Christmas

BlueLimes · 08/12/2025 12:37

I want @PenelopesProteinPackedParty plums and @Zempy crumble.

Oh that sounds wrong sorry @PenelopesProteinPackedParty

People who have reduced doses - have you noticed much difference??

2025istheyeari · 08/12/2025 13:16

Those plums sound delish @PenelopesProteinPackedParty! I made some masala plums last Christmas with loads of spices and they were good too!

yes @BlueLimesme! Just got to the end of my first 7.5mg one and definitely definitely hungrier. Am going to see how I do on the next and if needed go back to 10!!!

Aimingdown · 08/12/2025 13:43

I’ve gone from 10 to 9 to 8 to 7.5 in consecutive weeks without noticing much difference, can’t decide whether there is a slight difference or whether it’s just in my head. About to try 7 and may stay there a little longer. I do miss the early days of struggling to eat more than half a portion at 5, that never really came back even at higher doses.

BlueLimes · 08/12/2025 14:27

Interesting @2025istheyeari @Aimingdown
I’m definitely going to try 12.5 in January,

HeidiLite · 08/12/2025 14:49

It must have been about 2 years ago when I got this idea in my head that I want one of those cashmere trouser and sweater co-ord sets. In my head - full hygge, so cute, sipping hot chocolate next to a fireplace while it's snowing outside.
Ordered one. Reality - looked like a sack of spuds.
Was still in denial, so decided it was the outfit that was faulty.

But just found a similar one in a local outlet and guess what, it was in fact not the outfit. Looks exactly how I imagined!

myladyjane · 08/12/2025 17:54

Ohhhhh @HeidiLite this cements you in my minds eye as a power scandi. I appreciate you are technically down a bit geographically but I am going to ignore that. Is it a sort of caramel/beige colour?

@PenelopesProteinPackedParty you sound like you have tasty plums: I love stewed stone fruit and yoghurt - standard pudding here.

I randomly have a return of my symptoms so have been sulphur burping all day and had bad tummy. Don’t know why except I had cake yesterday from the Christmas fare (so sweet I couldn’t eat it). Also cold came back with sore throat so all I have had is Lemsip and cough sweets all day. Can’t face anything else.

@myladyjane I am actually originally from Northern Europe, very boringly blonde and blue-eyed.
I got a grey set, they also had taupe I considered but had to admit that grey was more flattering with my colouring.

Now, those plums, can I use frozen ones? French supermarkets are super seasonal, there won't be any plums around until next autumn.
