@ElliebearbluesI have done 4 weeks of 5, got one 5 dose left then got another 5 pen and a 7.5 in the fridge! Went a bit mad and stocked up, I’m going to do one more week of 5, then use the 7.5 pen, then I’ll just order a 2.5 to use with my 5 pen, that will take me to end of January then I hope to wean off them I have used a pen to top up, so probably taking around 6-7mg weekly now.

@Elliebearblues I use the Shotsy app that was recommended on another thread - just the free version, but it’s calendar lets you see your level on any given day if you record your jabs - I’m looking at that and planning to jab on the day after a planned meal where I can - by going early or late… can’t make everything work eg Xmas being on a Thursday whereas most family / events are Saturday but Christmas Day is usually chaotic so I’ll get away with actually eating less.

it also lets you record notes eg side effects etc so you can see patterns.

I’ve actually started using that to record jabs and side effects but never really taken notice of my levels . Thanks for that x

Touch wood the suppression is still ok on the 5mg, but when it starts to wear off and no longer works I may go up to 6ish before the full 7.5mg if needed x

@putthehamsterbackinitscage @Moosey898 I just did my C25K week 2 day 1 and I have to say it was better than week 1. Thank you for tip on reducing my pace - It was a game changer! Amazing loss 💪@putthehamsterbackinitscage

@Meandmypooch You are killing it!

@Elliebearblues I noticed my jab stinged me more than usual on last jab, maybe the cold weather also contributed, is it all good now?

@jaelato1 yay well done getting out there! Glad slowing the pace helped 😁

I'm having to take a few days off as I got a new tattoo on Friday so letting that settle in before I get sweaty again. I'm about to start week 8, eek!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 24/11/2025 17:41

@jaelato1 well done for getting out there- it wasn’t pleasant today!

I’ve done w4r1 earlier. It’s building longer time but manageable at a very slow pace. Got caught in a heavy shower before I finished but still glad I went out and did it.

narcASD · 24/11/2025 17:49

@Moosey898wow your doing so well, that’s a lot of weight lost and bet you are really starting to feel the difference now.

I have to lose 1st 2lb to go from being obese to overweight on the NHS bmi checker. Can’t wait to see the back of obese!

The last few days I’ve been struggling, despite taking a jab on Friday!
I can’t say I’m particularly hungry, I just seem to be thinking bout food more, nice food too, like roast potatoes, tiramisu etc, also getting sweet cravings. I no longer her periods so can’t be that.

StrongLikeMamma · 24/11/2025 17:52

@Elliebearbluesmy jab last week bruised me. I did it out the fridge for the first time. It’s at room temperature tonight so will see if that makes a difference!

It’s definitely come right down so that’s a relief, I think I’ll l take it out of the fridge half hour before on Friday x

I’ve had a few bruises, but this time when it went red and slighly raised it was concerning, thank god it’s gone down now. It never normally stings so definitely could be the cold weather. Let me know how the jab goes this time x

StrongLikeMamma · 24/11/2025 22:16

Just did my 6th jab. It actually stung a bit - weird none of the others have hurt at all.

So it’s the end of week 5 and am down a stone since starting.

Have had my smallest loss this week - 2lbs. But am happy with that.

I have stuck with 2.5 for this second month as have felt really wiped out from each jab. I guess it’s the lack of calories too - finding it hard to eat much more than 1000 a day.
But am focusing on protein, and fiber.
The gym is easier towards the end of the week that’s for sure.

Weirdly I’ve had a actual nightmare on jab nights too - apart from the last one (week 5) so maybe I’m getting used to it.
Will report back. Fingers crossed for sweet dreams!
Night all ✨

Mine also stung for the first time Friday also wonder if it’s the cold air? I’m taking mine out of the fridge at least half hour before I use it on Friday to see if that helps.
2lbs is a amazing loss, it’s taken me twice as long to lose a stone 😩🙈 I’m getting there though.

I actually think it’s better to lose slower in terms of your body, metabolism snd skin. Am really trying to keep up with the weights so as to be more toned. It also helps with my perimenopausal aches and pains - I just have DOMS instead 🙄😆

StrongLikeMamma · 25/11/2025 07:55

Here’s what AI says about stinging…

Potential Causes for Stinging

  • Medication Temperature:Injecting cold medication straight from the refrigerator can cause a stinging or burning sensation.
  • Injection Site Variation: Different areas of the body have varying nerve distributions, skin thickness, and fat layers.
  • One spot might be painless, while another spot (even in the same general area) might be more sensitive due to hitting a small nerve ending or blood vessel.
  • Injecting too close to the belly button (within 2 inches) or into a less fatty area (like some parts of the upper arm) can lead to more discomfort.Injecting into muscle tissue instead of the intended subcutaneous fat layer can also be more painful.
  • Injection Technique: Minor variations in technique can affect sensation.
  • Injecting through an area where the alcohol swab hasn't completely dried can cause a burning sensation.
  • Pressing the pen too hard against the skin or moving the needle while it is inserted can increase discomfort.
  • Injecting too quickly may also cause more irritation or the formation of small lumps.
  • Skin Sensitivity/Condition: You might have injected into an area with stretch marks, an existing bruise, or an area of hardened skin from previous injections, all of which can be more sensitive.
  • Individual Variability: Pain perception varies from person to person and even from week to week. What feels painless one time might be a slight pinch the next.
Tips to Minimize Discomfort
  • Allow to warm up: Let the Mounjaro pen sit at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes before injecting. Do not use a microwave or hot water to speed this up.
  • Rotate sites: Rotate your injection site each week to a different location within the recommended areas (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm). Keep a log if it helps you remember which spot was used last.
  • Ensure skin is dry: Make sure the area cleaned with an alcohol swab is completely dry before injecting.
  • Relax: Tense muscles can make the injection more painful. Try to relax your body before and during the injection.
  • Use a new needle: Always use a new, sterile needle for each injection.

@putthehamsterbackinitscage Agreed, the weather on monday was not great, I had to give myself some mental motivation before going for the run as I almost chicken'd out due to the weather. Well done on starting w4, I have to say I am enjoying it so far but I looked at the w5 runs and I almost screamed lol.

@Moosey898 I have always envied people who can endure the ink pain..eek, I have a low pain threshold. Hope the healing goes well and I dont envy you at all for week 8 run😫

@StrongLikeMamma Another great loss! Thanks for the info! I was wondering why the jab stunk last week

I managed to get back to the gym fri and omg the DOMS were a killer. I was going to go again but my daughter is off school unwell. Hopefully I can go tomorrow. They do say slower losses are better and that if you’re losing more than that it’s water and not proper fat. x

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 25/11/2025 13:44

@jaelato1week 5 does look awful but I did it this time last year and still remember being surprised I managed the 20 mins… so, roll on next week - all being well that will be next Friday for me… though it could well be Saturday if the weather is bad 😉

Aah honestly it doesn't hurt anywhere nearly as much as you'd think! I got it done on the inside of my forearm and it was like someone drawing on me with a biro but with a bit of pressure 🤣

Bit nervous for week 8, 28min run after 5 days off...will pick my flattest route!

Exactly- it’s maybe more likely to stick I think too as your body has time to adjust to the new normal.

End of week 6 weigh in and I’ve just squeaked another small drop. Total loss 8.0kg (just over 17lbs). 3.75mg dose seems to have settled too.

Struggling to manage energy levels to exercise, especially still getting over a bug

Clumsykitten · 26/11/2025 08:41

For what it’s worth @StrongLikeMamma@Elliebearblues when I did IVF the injections just randomly stung - like your AI list I always assumed it was bad luck hitting a nerve or tiny blood vessel. Obviously if you mess up the technique, that can sting too.

I also got good at angling the needle which I think really helps too. This explains the angle thing better than I can https://www.gatesheadhealth.nhs.uk/resources/giving-subcutaneous-injections/

Giving Subcutaneous Injections - Gateshead Health

A subcutaneous injection is given into the subcutaneous fat under the skin. The skin is made up of different layers.

Realise I haven’t been holding my skin, just sitting the pen straight on my thigh. Do you angle your pen @Clumsykitten?
