Here’s a random question: do we think it’s easier to wear heels now that we’re lighter??? I’ve never been able to walk in thin heels but then I’ve always been big (I go over on my ankles easy too). Do we think this might change now that I’m 59lbs down???

My feet are smaller, less swollen so I think it’s easier. Definitely a NSV.
I can’t believe we’ve been on this journey nearly a year… it’s been so much easier reading all your stories.

After a 3 month plateau, I went up to 10 mg and suppression is strong & so is fatigue 🙈. On plus side I’ve bought a few size 12 trousers 😀. I’d like to push through to 11st. 11lbs to go and then I’d like to titrate down but a bit daunted by maintenance. I’ve lost nearly 4 st but it feels like it’s been very slow & steady but I’m bored jabbing!

I have only shared with a couple of people that I’m on MJ (I just don’t think it’s their business). But my boss is obsessed with ‘the jabs’ and their impact on the food industry (relevant to my job) .. he brings it up all the time and I’m waiting for him to ask the Q he’s dying to ask …

Gingercar · 10/04/2026 21:55

I felt a bit guilty today. One of my customers came on that hot day and commented how much slimmer I was. Today she came again and I noticed she’d lost lots of weight too. I commented and she said “yes but I’ve cheated” The other day she’d asked me how I’d done it and I just banged on about the diabetes prevention course and cutting out sugar/processed foods. Which isn’t a lie, but.. So today I felt obliged to say I’d used them too, but that they hadn’t had a huge affect on me. It’s a dilemma, isn’t it.

it does seem like a lot of us will be stopping in a couple of months. Which is kind of nice because we started together.

HKG · 10/04/2026 23:41

Gingercar · 10/04/2026 21:30

I don’t know really. That is random! I used to wear heals a lot, had to for work, but haven’t since I stopped flying 6 years ago. If I do I tend to wear wedges. But our balance ought to be better as we get leaner. Why not go into town and try a few, test out your theory?

And yay to all coming to my coffee box! I’d love it. But if we ever do a meet up my vote is for Elsie’s place in Cyprus. 😀. Or HKG - how about breakfast at Stanley market and a day at repulse Bay?

You are on!!! Repulse Bay it is! Following by an evening stroll to watch the lights on the harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui! Oh if only!

Thank goodness for your imminent break! Have you planned anything nice for yourself? A little sneaky pampering appointment? A quiet day with a book and several cuppas (and the doorbell unplugged?!?!)

He’s fishing! Trying to get you to say voluntarily by bringing it up all the time. Cheeky so and so. Only say something if you want to!

HKG · 10/04/2026 23:45

Loving the idea that many of us will be stopping together. Then we can navigate maintenance together too!

SutekhsEars · 11/04/2026 08:47

Morning all! Great to hear everyone's news. Are we completely injury/major illness free at the moment? 🤞Glad to hear everyone's over the worst of it ready for a fabulous spring and summer!
My weight has settled at ~70kg and I'm happy with it. Less happy about how my face looks like a melted candle, but hey ho.
I've decided that my maintenance regime will be jabbing weekly, reducing by 0.5mg per month. I'm on 4.5mg at the moment. So I'll probably reduce down to 0 by the end of the year - although this may change as time goes on of course.
I've decided that maintenance only works with very strict menu planning. If I don't plan a proper lunch, I'm eating crap by mid-afternoon. Bread is still my downfall .
Need to be strict with myself!

Gingercar · 11/04/2026 10:44

I think that’s a good point @SutekhsEars. I’m not planning, particularly lunches, as much as I did, and that’s why I’m struggling.

Interestingly- I put on 4lbs this week for no particular reason this week, a week in which I was five days late to jab. Now, two days after jabbing, two lbs have already disappeared.

HereIGoOnceMore · 11/04/2026 13:41

I’m following the weight gain/loss when Mounjaro is missed taken with a lot of interest. I know lots of people with inflammatory joint conditions have found MJ helpful irrespective of weight loss benefits. It does perhaps suggest that inflammation may be a possible cause for increased weight, but there needs to be a lot more research.

Personally, I’m torn between wanting to come off now that I am happy with my weight, and being scared to. The evidence a couple of weeks ago about heart disease is making me wonder if staying on a low dose would be a good thing for my overall health.

From a pure vanity POV, I’m enjoying the novelty of wearing normal clothes and feeling confident in them so so much, that I’m determined not to go backwards.

Gingercar · 11/04/2026 14:53

Yes it’s interesting. I couldn’t have “really” put 4lbs on, and o don’t usually lose anywhere near 2lbs in a week (sadly!). I’m intrigued to know how long it would have taken to level out. I guess I’ll find out in a couple of months when I stop with a little bit more to lose!

Gingercar · 11/04/2026 17:16

Added to the above post, I need to say that my weight often/usually goes up and down by a few pounds over each week, but keeps plodding downwards slowly. So it might be absolutely nothing to do with being late to jab.

You’d all be most welcome !! 🇨🇾

Had a bit of drama on Friday evening - it was Good Friday here ( “Megali Paraskevi” ) and you visit local churches to see the floral tombs for Jesus - I’ll try to add a pic.
Then in the late evening, the tombs are paraded around the village, accompanied by musicians, and most of the local population .
We’d come back to the house after and DH managed to cut his leg quite badly in the corner of the car door . I patched it up as best I could and we drove up very early next morning to daughter’s house.
DSiL took one look at the cut and whisked us off to the nearest (private 😱! ) hospital, DH had a tetanus jab , antibiotics and the wound redressed -all very speedy .
We had to return 9am this morning for plastic surgeon to decide whether or not to stitch - DH with him as I write. The blood supply to his legs isn’t the best so they’re a tad limited medically .
All fine except we didn’t get to bed until 4am , big ( beautiful and very moving )church service at midnight for the Resurrection , then back to DSiL’s parents for traditional egg and lemon soup, chicken etc - and the red egg cracking contest - 🩷🩷.- lovely lovely time but sooooo tired this morning .
Aaah he’s being stitched now, luckily DSiL knows the plastic surgeon so shouldn’t be too much longer. Need to get back to theirs to fire up the barbecue, as all the family coming for Easter Sunday lunch .
Happy Easter ! 💐 🐣

SignedUpAgain · 12/04/2026 09:36

Morning all.
this thread has been a huge support to me too.
I’ve still a long way to go - I think. So hopefully you’re all going to stick around.

I’ve been stuck at 90kg for about a month. Not sure why. Have gone up to 12.5mg pen to try to kick start something.

bad weather and cold hasn’t helped me at all, and struggle to get exercise in after work, and drink enough water.

i use the Shotsy app and it says my BMI is 32

i feel so much better a bit smaller though, had a comfortable long haul flight to the US recently and was able to buy size 16 clothes which are tiny bit big already.

Didnt take any warm clothes with me, was a very short trip to visit my daughter in college. One day was super cold, and she just said. Borrow one of my hoodies! lol as if I ever could have done that before.

I also didn’t feel like such a big heifer meeting all her friends.

i originally guessed 70kg might be a nice goal, but that’s 20kg more to go and now I don’t know if it’s possible.

i have given away ALL my bigger clothes. Have tiny wardrobe left. Need to shop. Don’t know what fits or suits me anymore. Kind of dreading summer.

the weightloss has had a positive impact on my joints. Much less painful ankles and Achilles problems.

I thought I’d do MJ for 6 months but now it’s very nearly a year. I started first of May exactly.

only my DH and my kids, and one friend know. I’m gonna tell my friend I’ve stopped. As she is kind of obsessed about it and I only told her cos she was going on and on about my weight loss.

good luck everyone. Please keep this thread alive.

ElsieJay · 12/04/2026 09:43

Back at the house, six stitches plus need to come back to plastic surgeon on Thursday for wound to be checked and redressed.
Bonus ! - as that means we’ll see DGD again before she goes back to Rome for Uni.
Off to make banoffi pie cheesecake now, and watch DD make “old rag pie” .
Sun is shining , life is good !
Onwards and downwards …… 🐣 💐.

Apprenante · 12/04/2026 09:57

@ElsieJay it sounds - apart from your DH's accident - like a wonderful holiday. Thank you for the information on customs and the photos.

I looked at my Shotsy graph and realised I've been maintaining since the beginning of January. Dose is now 2.5 every 10 or 11 days. As my BMI is still happily at 27 I guess I'll be able to get a 2.5 pen if I decide to continue? I haven't made an order since the pendemic so I'll be a 'new' patient whoever i order from.

Really I hope to use up what I've got for the next 2-3 months and then stop. But it's scarey.

Apprenante · 12/04/2026 10:05

Hey @SignedUpAgain you've had some really good NSVs! Your daughter's hoodie, the long flight, reduction of joint pain. That's fantastic.

I've been using Vinted a lot. Then if I decide something doesn't really work for me I don't feel so bad. I should re-sell my mistakes but I haven't quite worked out how to do it yet. I think giving away all your bigger clothes is a great idea. I'm not quite brave enough (some have gone) so my wardrobe is crammed.

I stated on the 1st May too. I'll be posting here forever.

Gingercar · 12/04/2026 10:41

I’ll keep posting here too. I am going at a snails pace anyway! I have half a 12.5 pen left and a 15mg pen that I will probably stretch out and taper down with, plus a 2.5 that Voy sent me when I wanted a 7.5. So I think it looks like being July when I stop the jabs. Who knows where I’ll be up to. The losses are slowing down. I’m also keeping a close eye on my skin. I’m wondering if I’m seeing the start of a bit of loose skin, which I really want to avoid if I can. (apologies to those that have it, it’s just not for me). If it is I might stop now and really slow down the weight loss, See if my skin catches up. Once these school holidays are over (tomorrow!) I’m going to start C25K, like I’ve been saying since I started!

@ElsieJay what an eventful holiday! Hope he’s ok.

HKG · 12/04/2026 10:53

Oh @ElsieJay ! I hope he’s okay! And you! Oh the drama! Hopefully you’ve got the drama out the way now and the rest of the holiday will be all calm bliss.

@SignedUpAgain wow! I mean just wow on all those NSVs! Your daughter’s hoodie?? That’s tremendous and must be a feeling to bottle forever!

@Gingercar ive also been toying with C25K - I started last year and got the week 6 then life. Thinking I should try again - virtual running buddies?!? I have thought maybe I should sign up to a race or something but then remembered I HATE running in crowds. 🤣🤣🤣

just done my first ever 7.5mg. Bracing myself for vomming…

Gingercar · 12/04/2026 11:00

Yes definitely I’d virtual running buddy up. I remember you starting. I was going to then didn’t! I need to nip to Decathlon on Monday and get some running shoes.

ElsieJay · 12/04/2026 16:42

Just about recovered from huge lunch and dessert , everything washed up, put away, DsiL’s family departed , and lounge and dining room put to rights - so vegging on DD’s sofa and scrolling back through thread.

Think I’m going to stay on a low dose for the foreseeable , coupled with WW and meal planning - the last few days have shown me how easy it could be to undo all the good work put in since we all began.
Enjoying the extra walking since we’ve been here but I’m definitely a fair-weather walker 🙄.

Thanks for all the good wishes for DH - he’s “resting his eyes” at the moment, lack of sleep coupled with strong antibiotics have taken their toll ! We’re going back to ours tomorrow after lunch , about 1.5 hours drive at our pootling pace.
Couple of days of chilling on the beach if weather stays as it is 🤞.
Had to Google location of Stanley Market and Repulse Bay - definitely up for meeting there, but may have to settle for a Virtual Anniversary Party ! 🥳 🎉 🥂 🍾 xxxx

Thanks, @SussexLass87 - DH seems particularly accident-prone at the minute, was going to rename him Mr Bump but don’t want to tempt fate any further ! 🙄

notgonnafail · 13/04/2026 09:56

Hi all, sorry been missing in action due to moving hubby from UK to France (at last!) But had an expected massive flare up of my disabilities afterwards which meant I've been reading but not contributing! Well done to all of you on so many wins, on and off the scales. Must admit I'm a bit envious of you all.

I'm still losing slower than a squished snail and I'm still not below 100kg (SW 115kg), but my post-exertion crash was less than usual and I definitely have less inflammation than I did. I also flew recently and had a teeny bit of seatbelt left and didn't feel garotted the whole way which was amazing (too proud in past to ask for the extender!) Am also 1-2 sizes down from where I started depending on make of clothes. So even if scale is slow to respond something has been happening!

But, it turns out my thyroid dose has been a bit off, and I finally started taking HRT recently too and that has helped me feel better too I think so I'm hoping that those tweaks may help the weight start shifting a bit.

But, did a small (0.25mg) rise in my dose this week and ended up with 4 days of severe d&v and am really struggling with food since too, so not sure if it was because my body wasn't ready for an increase, or if it is because I was a bit wiped out from moving hubby, or if the changes hormonally from the thyroid and hrt made it all go haywire!

Normally dose twice a week to minimise SEs, but haven't done my usual Sunday dose this week to let levels drop a bit and will see how I feel on Wednesday as to what I dose then!

Would be great to get below the 100kg for our anniversary!

Gingercar · 13/04/2026 10:39

Sounds like you are still moving along @notgonnafail. I hope you hit your target for your anniversary. Where did you go to in France? How exciting!

I have my final Diabetes Prevention Course session on Thursday and would really like to lose my little (unfair) gain by then for the last weigh in. I’m off to do a hill with the dog, see if it helps!

notgonnafail · 13/04/2026 11:03

@Gingercar I've been living in France for the past 5 and a bit years. Hubby had to stay in UK to work to pay for the renovations to our shell of house to make it habitable - but has finally retired. We're between Limoges and Clermont. It's lovely here, but has most certainly been tough getting to this point!
