New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All very welcome, whichever part of the journey you are on.

We have newbies and those who have got to their targets and lots of us in between at various stages, all supporting each other along the way.

Nothing is off topic and progress photos always welcome, encouraging us all to keep going!

No discount codes please - there is a separate thread for that.

That's such a cute jacket @Sam187 and looks great on you!

MooBaggage · 22/12/2025 07:21

Ooh @Sam187 that looks sooooo warm and cosy! You look great!

I don't know what to wear on Christmas Day - I'd like to wear something a bit special, but not sure what I've got that fits - I've got a velvet top I bought ages ago that's been a bit too small so far, so might try that on again to see if it's close!

Have lost another 1.5lbs in the last few days (won't last - have spent the weekend eating crisps and drinking prosecco...!) but my BMI is now 29.8, which is very pleasing 😀

Just over 2 weeks to go until my Lanza holiday - am currently 14st 1lb so am hoping to just tip into the 13 stones if I can find some self control over Christmas (ahem). It's theoretically possible, but am not going to beat myself up if I don't make it - I didn't expect to be this weight a year ago, and I'm not going to be disappointed that I've 'only' lost 86lbs...!

Feeling resigned that I will not break into the 9 stone barrier before Christmas but far too many events on with too much fizz. Aiming to STS if I can. Like you @MooBaggage i don’t want to beat myself up for only losing 81lb!

The rest will come off in January 💪🏻 with a last big push 🤞🏻

WeAllHaveWings · 22/12/2025 13:56

@MooBaggage @TheSlimmingPumpkin Definitely the right approach for us all to look back and recognise what we have achieved, rather than feeling disheartened about not quite hitting an arbitrary pre-Christmas target. We are all super stars ⭐ and have changed, our lives so much this year whether that is significant loses already or just taking the first steps, and it will continue next year.

It’s also worth being realistic about the Christmas period itself. We might carry on losing, we might maintain, or we might gain a few couple of pounds. All of that is completely normal, we should not see it as a failure in any way.

I will go with the flow and enjoy what is such a special time of year with family. I won't overindulge (as it will just make me feel uncomfortable/risk side effects!), but equally I won't deprive myself.

This journey isn’t just for Christmas, it’s for the long term, and real life includes celebrations. Learning how to enjoy them without guilt is all part of it.

Hope everyone's Christmas prep is going well! Fridge is getting a clear out today to make space for the M&S food order pick up and last Tesco delivery tomorrow!

Mounjaro has been hidden away in a bag in a tupperware box in preparation for family who don't know visiting! 😂

dimples76 · 22/12/2025 16:57

I haven't made it to the gym for the last week or so due to Christmas mayhem. Which also means that I haven't weighed in. I was hoping to go tomorrow but then realised that as it's opposite a large retail park the traffic and parking will be crazy. I am eating a lot less than usual for this time of year and seem.to have really gone off alcohol but I am sure that some weight will be gained.

MooBaggage · 24/12/2025 10:14

A mini whoosh with another 1lb off for my final pre-Christmas weigh in!

13.1.25 SW 20st 3lbs BMI 43
24.12.25 CW 14st 0lbs BMI 29.8

I'm 87lbs lighter than I was last Christmas! Am also a lightweight drinking-wise these days, but I'll be opening a bottle of Prosecco tomorrow (morning!) and intend to enjoy myself - although so weird knowing it won't be via a world of alcohol and a fuck ton of chocolate, but more likely just enjoying a couple of glasses of fizz, a lovely meal and a bit of pud!

Happy Christmas Eve and I hope everyone has a lovely few days R&R 😍

GiveMeWordGames · 24/12/2025 10:45

Hurrah for a last minute pre-christmas mini-whoosh!

Since I hit 12st 1 last week I've been bobbling around between 12st 1 and 2 so I've given up on the idea of losing any more before Xmas Day. Still, it's fundamentally a two meal day in this house (late egg/salmon breakfast, which is perfectly fine, then turkey late afternoon). The chocolates, and post pub Boxing Day cheesefest, are the dangerous things.😁

Scales live in the spare room which is where my Mum will be staying from tomorrow until the 27th so no weighing, which is probably a good thing. Current pen is hiding in some opaque tupperware in the fridge.

Happy Xmas Eve you lovely lot of losers and hope you all have fab Christmases. 🌲🎁

AnneinEdinburgh · 24/12/2025 14:06

I accidentally seem to have polished off a chocolate orange, just as well they shrinkflated! Have come down with a throat infection and family Christmas meal has bern postponed till I'm better. I secretly quite looking forward to an easy pj's day with just my son, and the big meal another day over the festive break. Apart from feeling crap, a heated throw snd sofa to myself is rather nice, though dont tell my ex guests!

Hope everyone has a lovely time xx

MabelSpan · 24/12/2025 14:45

Hoping on to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

SecondCircuit · 24/12/2025 23:57

Not much time for anything else from me but a very warm wishes of Merry Christmas to you all!🎄♥️

Bunnyjo · 25/12/2025 00:28

Merry Christmas all!

Posting now so I can be accountable for any festive gains.

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 12st 13lb
Loss: 34.5lb
Current BMI: 32.1
Target Weight 1: 12st 2lb (overweight BMI)
Target Weight 2: 10st 2lb (healthy BMI)

I’ve really felt the difference this week; I can see my jaw line is far more sculpted and I’ve dropped nearly 2 dress sizes. Thankfully, I don’t seem to have much loose skin at the moment. I imagine that will change as I’ve still some way to go, but as Bon Jovi sang, I’m (almost) “half way there”!

In terms of little victories, my mini target was to be below 13 stone by the New Year and I’ve hit it a week early. I’m hoping tomorrow doesn’t set me back too much as I’d like to think I will never see 13st something on the scales again.

GoingDownDown · 26/12/2025 10:36

Merry Christmas all! Hope you had a nice day yesterday.

I took my dose last night, somewhat regretted it as I’d eaten too much rubbish (nowhere near what I would have eaten in previous years), so felt decidedly dodgy all night! But back on good tracks today so hopefully that will settle. Not weighing for a couple of days to let things even out!

I started losing weight at the end of Jan last year (started MJ in April). I’m hoping to drop 5 pounds in the next 4 weeks as that would take me to exactly 4 stone down. It’s an arbitrary figure but would be nice to achieve!

UnimaginableWindBird · 26/12/2025 13:47

Hello everyone! I hope you had a lovely day yesterday. I had a great time, with a nice relaxing day, lovely people and just the right amount of delicious food.

DD gave me some beautiful Denby speckle plates, and they are very small so perfect for my smaller portions.

I weighed I today, and I've lost 3.2lbs since last week. I have a new 5mg pen to start today, but I kind of regret ordering it, tbh. I haven't really been getting appetite suppression this month, and was getting very snacky, so I thought it would be time to increase my dose, but I tried one dose of 3.3mg, got horrible stomach pains when I ate chips and just went back to 2.5 for my dose after that and have lost almost 6lb in the past 2 weeks, which feels like too much.

I think I'll try 3mg tonight and see how I go from there, and see if I can stay at around 2lb loss per week. I might need to go back to calorie counting a bit to make sure I eat enough.

GoingDownDown · 26/12/2025 15:41

I need to get back in to better habits.

What do you all keep in to eat when you’re not having a full meal? I fall back on a protein shake or scrambled eggs, both of which are fine but I need to switch it up!

UnimaginableWindBird · 26/12/2025 18:45

I have a load of single portion servings of a variety of soups and stews in the freezer, so I tend to have those, or make myself a serving of Huel, or have beans on toast.

MooBaggage · 27/12/2025 09:23

@GoingDownDown that's exactly what I have when I'm not hungry, so I can't help I'm afraid! I either have my favourite chocolate protein shake (I make a large one and drink half and put half in the freezer, so I've got a kind of chocolate ice cream for later!), or scrambled eggs with spinach.

I get extra lazy points for sometimes having just 2 or 3 frozen chicken nuggets - 8 mins in the airfryer and have them with spinach. Tiny meal but at least I feel like I've eaten!

I've weighed this morning and have held fast at 14 stone - hurrah! Today is (thankfully) my last big family meal day. Am looking forward to getting back into some sort of routine from tomorrow. I haven't gone too bonkers, but have had more puddings since Christmas Eve than I have all year!

Big family Christmas meal at the pub today, so I've offered to drive, to at least not burn through the week's calories on gin... 😬

OP posts:
HumBumBum · 27/12/2025 10:20

Oh that’s a great idea re chicken nuggets @MooBaggage adding to my shopping list!

I usually have lots of Babybel lights in, some Barebells protein bars (I had the advent calendar so lots left from that - they’re lovely and some have 20g of protein in!), and the usual eggs and beans.

I think I’ve struggled with alcohol these past few days, one glass of wine is ok but if I go beyond that it seems to sit and burn in my stomach. Desserts seem ok though!

alltablenochairs · 27/12/2025 12:04

Well its all been a bit shiteola here. I'll spare the details.
Plus points are that my presents almost entirely consisted of cast iron cookware (I have a collection of it) and things to warm me up. I'm currently under my heated blanket with a cat on my lap and my new heated slippers. My other present I am really enjoying is a block of 5 year mature cheddar. Because its so strong thin slivers at a time are enough fir a cheesy fix.

In terms of food I'm actually quite liking party food at the moment. Most of it cooks in 10-15 mins and because its small pieces I can cook exactly what I fancy.

Zebracat · 27/12/2025 12:15

Happy Twixmas everyone. We were all ill with, I think , RSV,and still feeling rubbish. I seem to have gained weight al though, I didn’t think I ate much, but I’m definitely Cleopatra- Queen of Denial! Never mind, usually I spend a year painfully getting down to 95 kilos only to shoot back up to 105 in December. This time I’ve gone up to 85 and I will spend the year getting comfortably to the lower 70s, and stay there forever. That’s the plan anyway.

GiveMeWordGames · 27/12/2025 13:44

Holding at 12st 1 here. Not much booze at all, and a fraction of the cheese and chocolate I would normally eat. Survived the pub lunch yesterday - just had starter and main and no dessert and then a few nibbles later, no other meal. And perfectly happy, I haven't felt like I'm missing out or depriving myself.

WeAllHaveWings · 27/12/2025 14:32

Saturday weigh in and it is a Christmas miracle! 🎄 - after an Indian takeaway, full scottish fry up, boxing day beef roast with creamy dauphinoise potatoes and yorkshire puddlings, crisps and dips, multiple chocolate deserts with cream, ritz crackers, wine/baileys (and some Gaviscon for my acid reflux 😂) - I have stayed the same as last week 🥳

I am fortunate at this stage 18 months into Mounjaro I don't get significant side effects if I over indulge, just a small sugar crash yesterday evening when I felt a little yuck, but otherwise fine.

It will probably catch up with me next week, but it is Christmas, I know once I get back into the routine in January it will be okay.

WeAllHaveWings · 28/12/2025 13:52

🎶What a difference a day made
Twenty-four little hours 🎶

And gone from "stayed the same" to 3lbs up! 🤣

(and going to a Chinese buffet with family tonight 🙈)

It totally went out of my mind to jab yesterday (will probably do tomorrow now - I am on a low dose so don't think it matters too much), also forgot to change HRT patch too! Losing track of the days of the week without the usual routine!

This is a good idea, veg is the first thing to go when I don’t feel like cooking! Think I should batch cook some soup and freeze it.

DottyMcDiet · 28/12/2025 21:20

I’ve been terrible here with cheese, chocolate and wine but have managed to STS.

I’m sure it’ll catch up with me in the next couple of weeks.🫣
