I had a 24 hour nearly-fast yesterday. Sort of unplanned I just couldn’t be arsed with food so had drinks but no actual solids, and much weeing. Choosing something in the evening was a trial! Had plenty of liquids though.

I also had excellent bowels yesterday.

Today? Optimism high, I hop on the scales. A fucking gain! What is that all about?!

Will it show up tomorrow? Or was it waste of time?

FFS BODY! Unimpressed.

I find that when I have a big eating day there is a 24hr lag before it shows on the scales, so it may be the same for a fast/low cal day. Fingers crossed you get a big whoosh tomorrow!

TragicMuse · 21/11/2025 18:15

Thanks Elf! I bloody hope so! Not that it was massive effort, I really could not be arsed eating yesterday! But y’know! If I’m doing it at least make it count!!

I am so pleased that I have lost 1lb under 7st but my gosh I miss being warm. I really don't want to have the heating on constantly, I probably need to invest in a heated blanket. I debated it so much last winter then it got warmer and I wasnt always so cold. It's 2° outside I have leggings under my jeans a vest a t shirt a hoodie and an oversized cardi and I'm wearing my winter slipper boots!! My hands are freezing all the time and I get cold to the bones when I just can't get warm. 2 of my 3 kids play football and I couldn't stop shaking on Monday night at their match I was so cold and I had to many layers and thermal gloves and hat and hand warmers. I wouldn't go back to over 20st but I do miss being warm!

I am blooming freezing @WafflingDreamer! Wearing woolly hats outside already and everything 😂

I find exactly the same.

@Janie934 I love your NSVs, well done you! I have also had a very squished and unhappy time in an MRI machine and it's a nice realisation to know it wont be an issue for me next time. Yay for that, for you and for me. I hope you hit your ten stone target- you sound like you've done absolutely incredible. Happy for you.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/11/2025 19:12

I'm sick of being cold, too.
It doesn't seem to matter how many jumpers and cardigans I wear.

I'm not enjoying seeing the smart meter every day.

I knew my hair loss was becoming a thing but I've been in blissful denial to the giant piles every time because I've always had tons of thick hair and always lost loads of hair every time I brush my hair (poor DW is forever despairing at the robots hoover. normal hoover and shower drain!!). But my friend plaited my hair today and erm WHERE IS MY HAIR?! I have two tiny rats tails hanging either side of my head! I used to have fat braids!!

I'm getting it all chopped off when I leave ready for my 40th anyway.

@Lds1 that sounds really frustrating for you, pre Mounjaro I could only really maintain weight most weeks by fasting but that was because I was over eating on my non-fast days but it doesn’t sound like that’s what happening to you. Fasting does make constipation worse for me and that affects weight, are you drinking and sleeping enough? How long or how many days are you fasting for? Too many can slow your metabolism due to calorie restriction, our bodies are so unique which can be frustrating sometimes as what works for one doesn't work for another.

@Lds1 this is a great post. As we know the scales aren't black and white - consider water, sleep, stress, hormones etc.

Would you be interested in going to a 24 hour fast, just for one day? So instead of eating at 5.30pm, don't. And eat breakfast first thing the next day. But absolutely nothing the rest of the time (water and black coffee like you have been doing)
Perhaps do this on a high suppression day? Do you think you could manage that? I'll admit I haven't done a fast that long before.

Studies have shown fasting to increase metabolism, so it might help.

If that fails, the next thing to try is a eat whatever you want day. Just for the aim of making the scales move, in any direction.

I don't have that this year, just normal person cold. I still live in my heated poncho but it does warm me now rather being constantly freezing 🥶

Total loss: 71lbs (5st 1lb)

Fffreeeeezing · 22/11/2025 11:38

Week 36 and a 3lb loss for me this week

SW: 25st 9lbs
CW: 18st 12lbs
GW: 12st 12lbs (first interim goal)

BMI 43.9..... edging closer to that under 40 number (started 59.7)

Total loss since March 6st 11lbs, only 3lb til I hit 7st and just 5lb til I reach 100lbs gone!

Did my second Reformer class this week and see a PT once a week for strength and weight training (this one isn't new, been going for about 5yrs) plus my daily 1hr+ dog walks (my minutes per km have now nearly halved in the last few months so I'm doing a lot longer distances), and yet I swear people still look at me and think fat and lazy 😡

oh and I've still only had 3 people comment on the loss (in total since March!), a woman at doggy daycare and 2 people I see once in a blue moon dog walking. Yet I'm down from a size 24 ish to an 18 (ish) and some of my clothes are literally falling off me. I genuinely don't care, just think it's weird!

My weight seems to be bouncing in a downward trend which seems a little strange since I e been on MJ. I seem to gaining and then losing a bigger amount so the overall trend is still downwards but this seems a big departure from the first six months where I think I only gained a half pound once and lost every other week.

Has anyone else found this? I’m not massively worried as overall the trend is still downwards but is just a different pattern to what I have been experiencing.

I recognise this. For the first 6m I lost consistently, nowhere near the rate that some seem to on here, but I lost about half a stone each month for six months. In the second six months it has slowed down massively. I often gain or stay the same, and usually have a small gain followed by a decent loss. I started in September last year and in the 8m since March I’ve only lost 9lbs. It’s really depressing and I’m contemplating coming off it as it’s such a lot of money for a pound a month loss.

It is difficult, isn’t it? I am still losing weight but slower and there are ups and downs now. I’m on 7.5mg and really don’t want to have to go to a higher dose due to the cost. I am sticking with it as it is still working but not quite as easy as before. Initially I was losing a stone every 6 weeks but now it is about every 8/9 weeks, which is still good going just not what I was experiencing. What dose are you on?

eibbed999 · 22/11/2025 15:19

Friends, I have jeans!!! Well, boot cut jeggings to be precise. In a size 18. And I know I'm not skinny by real world standards, but I DO look like a normal human. Feeling good!

I did up my coat to watch a sports fixture today - no-one has ever seen that coat done up (me included). And that has made up for the scales not yet showing that I have lost the 12 stones I would like to lose (should have lost at the end of the first pen if life had been fair).

I’m on 15mg!

I could understand it if I was close to target but I’m still miles and miles away. 4 stone gone but I’m 5”10 and BMI is still over 39 so I have many many stones to go

TragicMuse · 22/11/2025 19:13

Friends, I am really struggling with food.

I don’t want to eat, well, anything really. I just cannot be bothered. And since I cook for the family, I do that and then when it’s time to dish up I just don’t want it. I don’t feel very hungry, but most it’s just that I can’t be bothered with it all.

It’s not new-pen thing, I’m on my second 10mg.

I don’t know what to do really. It’s weird and a bit unsettling.
