A NSV today which has made me so happy I almost want to cry which is silly. I’ve had a day out with a friend to a nearby spa town; morning in the spa, lunch at Wetherspoons which I really wasn’t keen on the idea of but went for a Korean grilled chicken bowl which it turns out is less than 650 cals but 42g of protein and then the exciting bit. We had a wander round the shops- nice fancy ones like Mint Velvet and Oliver Bonas AND TRIED THINGS ON TOGETHER. I could fit into standard size clothes in all the shops. I haven’t enjoyed a shopping trip like that with a friend for years and years. Though we both came away empty handed though having been spoilt by Vinted prices!

I’d forgotten what it’s like to shop with a friend. All my clothes were from Simply Be before.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 14/11/2025 06:15

That’s so lovely @Onenotsosmallstep I’m so glad you had a good time- clothes shopping is becoming such a pleasure now where it used to be a depressing chore!

Weigh In day for me today and another good loss brings me to a new milestone - I have now lost 12 stone! (12 stone 2 pounds to be exact 😄). My BMI is now 26.8 - sooo close to being healthy! I still can’t really believe it!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 14/11/2025 06:34

GnomeDePlume · 13/11/2025 07:47

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 95.3kg BMI 37.2
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

15 stone exactly in old money. 6 stone 8 lbs down. A smidge over 5 stone to get to goal weight. 30% down on starting weight.

But it is a scary thought that to get to goal weight I will have lost 54% of my start weight.

We were the same starting weight @GnomeDePlume (1 was 136 kg) I started this journey in January.
You are ahead of me and my loss slowed since the summer really but have reached 100.5kg and frustrating want to get under it.

I just wanted to say how brave you are setting an actual target. I have not been able to do that. I have stuck to mini ones (currently to get under 100kg)
and to get to weights I have been at time stamps in life.
i currently passed the weight I was before children.
I am aiming next to weight I was at wedding.

i have the ‘lightest teenage weight’ I remember that I may go for, but still then, my BMI will be overweight.

i just wanted to say I admire you and well done

Motnight · 14/11/2025 07:59

Happy Friday all! I've lost another lb. Really struggling to lose weight in general at the moment - averaging 3 lbs a month. I know that I need to move more!

PearlTeapot · 14/11/2025 08:59

@Onenotsosmallstep what a wonderful post! I'm sure most of us have dreamed of the day we can just go high street shopping. I don't know if I ever have since I was about 18 and I'm hitting 40 now. Hope you had the best day!

@MummyInTheNecropolis brilliant! So pleased for you!

@diggitydoo here's to a great first week for you! Drink as much water as you can and away you go!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 14/11/2025 09:09

@Fffreeeeezing ive done that before, but didn’t realise until the buyers sent messages to say they’d received the wrong item. Drop them both a message in advance to say you may have made a mistake, then when they receive the parcels that are incorrect they mark ‘I have an issue’ and can select wrong item received, you can then generate a return label that the buyer can use to return the parcel (you will pay for the label) and the buyer gets refunded when you mark the parcel as returned. You can then re-list and they can re-buy if they still want the items - I gave the buyers a discount due to my mistake, made me feel a bit sick making that sort of mistake! I am extra extra careful now 🤞🏼

Iwouldratherbesinging · 14/11/2025 09:22

its our wedding anniversary today, 38 years… 38 years ago I wore a size 20 wedding dress at 14.5 stone and then gained (more) and lost (less) repeatedly throughout our married life, I am still in awe of the fact I weigh less now than I have ever done in my adult life. We’re not doing anything special today but I really fancy a posh fish finger sandwich with ciabatta, rocket and tartare sauce, so that’s what we’re having for tea tonight.
The weather is utterly miserable here today so we’re going to hunker down and have a lovely long weekend.

@MummyInTheNecropolis thats amazing and so inspiring!
@Onenotsosmallstep how wonderful, I did the same recently with my daughter after never being able to before and yes, it was an emotional experience that I’ll forever treasure

SilenceInside · 14/11/2025 11:01

Week 71 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 73.4kg (11st 8lbs), was 74.4kg (11st 10lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal - achieved!
Final GW: 65kg (10st 3lbs)
BMI: 26.6

Current pen: 10mg, 27 weeks on this dose.

A 1kg loss this week. I will take 73.4kg as having achieved my 6th and last interim goal of 73kg. It's taken a good few weeks to push down into the mid 11st range, but now I am definitely heading towards my original final goal of 65kg/10st 3lbs. Starting to think that I can actually achieve it now! It's taken a while to properly believe it.

GnomeDePlume · 14/11/2025 11:24

@mamabeeboo always good to have company on a long journey!

@Reginaphalangeeeee having a target works for me. I'm not looking at the weekly losses or gains but at the overall progress. I want to be a healthy weight. I'm 58, in the age bracket where things can sneak up. I want to be able to go to see a doctor and have concerns listened to. Not to have every conversation prefaced by 'you need to lose weight'.

You are (both) doing really well. For me the great thing about mounjaro is that it just keeps doing its thing.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/11/2025 11:25

Have you seen the thread where the OP is moaning that she's 10st and "so fat"?

She's 5' 3" BTW so her BMI is normal.

I'm the same height, and my goal weight is 10st 10lb.

Oh well. She won't qualify for MJ anyway. 😂😂

GnomeDePlume · 14/11/2025 11:26

@SilenceInside that is hugely inspiring. It must be great to see that final goal in sight.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/11/2025 11:28

Amazing loss @MummyInTheNecropolis
And a great boost for anyone starting out with well over 10st to lose.

You see - it's really possible.

12st 2lb lost woo - hoo!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

For goodness sake. But I had a real life friend say same to me, we’ve fallen out, as I just wasn’t prepared to listen to how hideous her body is when I weighed 10 more. I was in tears and she was still saying her problem was just like mine. Tone deaf. Blind too. It says more about them than us though, a lifetime of self hatred and the diet industry convincing women they’re too fat at any size except a 6 or 8.

@Kay2000 Some people genuinely aggravate me. I'm unsure though how much is seeking compliments though as inevitably people say no they look great. So for example, I wonder if they would keep discussing it if the response was "yes you could lose a few pounds". 😂
I was reading about someone who did just that, and instead of complimenting that person, started helping and saying "why don't you try gym, try calorie counting" etc and the person soon stopped discussing their weight. 😂

I also remember the other thread on here where someone wanted to discuss stopping losing weight because they were looking older. And I just think what privilege that you're doing this purely for asthetics, rather than health. Whilst I'm here fighting for my life 😅

Autumnflowers2 · 14/11/2025 12:11

Im still at the same weight..very slow again.
Getting frustrated, but trying to not be .
Discovered prunes ...3/4 a day .makes a difference

Billybingbong · 14/11/2025 12:20

Week 32, and 1lb off this week, total 5st 5lb. It's been a funny old week, and I'm not too sure how I feel about it. I've revamped my work wardrobe, and it's made my weight loss really quite noticeable. We're quite a close team, most people know I'm on MJ, and we do have an occasional chat about it. But this week, my 'transformation' has been the talk of the office. All very complimentary and supportive, but just a bit much, iykwim. I've still got such a lot left to lose, and it's making me realise I must have looked hideous before, it's all quite unsettling. Im probably not making much sense, but just my ramblings of the week ☺️

SW 22st 8lb
CW 17st 5lb
GW 11st 4lb

Have a great week everyone 💕

Lds1 · 14/11/2025 12:26

Not a great week but at least it's something. Lost 0.3kg (0.7lbs) and that's with the fasting still 😔

SW: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW: 75.4kg / 11 stone, 12 lb and 3.7 oz
Total loss: 67.4kg / 10 stone, 8 lb and 9.5 oz
BMI: 50.8 now 26.8
To get to healthy: 5.3kg / 11 lb and 11 oz
To get to target (Mid BMI): 15.4kg / 2 stone, 5 lb and 15.2 oz

SilenceInside · 14/11/2025 13:00

@Billybingbong you absolutely did not look hideous before. I think when you get to the point where you need to change a lot of your clothing for smaller sizes, and perhaps change what you regularly wear, that's when people notice the most. To them it seems like a sudden transformation, whereas to us it's a pit stop in a long process. Compliments now just mean they've noticed, not that they thought you were hideous before. But I do think that's an issue when people comment on your weight/body, it's fairly inevitable to think that it implies that you didn't look nice before. But, it's not a binary choice of nice/hideous. That's what I tell myself when people make (complimentary) comments to me about my weight loss. Although, recently, it's shifted to nice comments about my clothing choices, which I find easier to deal with, rather than my weight/shape.

mamabeeboo · 14/11/2025 13:55

@Billybingbong Your post resonated with me. I think that once you move from the obese to the overweight category in people's heads, they start to notice because you're not how they have always known you as. It's similar to me that I started as 22 stone, and now I'm at the top end of 15 (which is considered overweight but also a normal overweight size), people are now saying WOW, because I'm not in the huge category in their minds.

I also believe people are well-meaning, but unsure of how best to acknowledge and phrase it and it can come out wrong. Because let's be honest, not many can or need to lose this much weight. (Which is why we have our own thread!) I felt the same way a few months ago when I shared with some work colleagues I had lost 4 stone and their mouths flew open, and I felt highly embarrassed and fat at the response, despite it being positive.

Kay2000 · 14/11/2025 14:30

I’ve now lost 4 and half stone, and it’s very slow now, despite me increasing my pen to 10mg. I think I’m going to have to “diet” which I had been avoiding. I’ve not lost anything for 3 weeks now.

But anyway, I’ve gone from a size 28/30 to 22 and have bought smaller clothes and still no one has noticed - not one person, even those who don’t see me regularly. I think I now look “quite overweight” instead of “morbidly obese” especially in my new clothes, but nope, not one comment and if I say I’ve lost weight, they look amazed. Doesn’t do much for my confidence 😬. BUT - my mobility is so much easier, I FEEL better, and I don’t need affirmations from anyone.

@mamabeeboo I’m going to try that with people who have the audacity to sit and tell me how fat and disgusting they are, instead of disagreeing and thinking try being me, I’m going to agree and say yes you do look like you could do with losing some, what diet are you going to follow 🤭. See if it shuts them up 🤣

mamabeeboo · 14/11/2025 14:37

@Kay2000 if it helps - It was only once I moved from a size 28 to a size 18 (5 stone) that suddenly everyone started noticing. Otherwise, I bearly had any comments, except a few polite people noticing something different.

Earlier this week I got comments from 2 separate people on the 15 min school run (despite seeing me everyday). There's definitely an element of "when it rains it pours" when it comes to weight loss.

Let me know the update when you agree with your slim friends about the weight loss, I'd love to see their faces. Because in reality, unless you have body dysmorphia, you know if you're actually fat or not.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/11/2025 16:12

Hi @Kay2000 I also didn't get comments until I was a size 18.
I'd lost over 5st by then and weighed about 15st.

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 14/11/2025 16:32

I think I’ve said it before, maybe even on this thread (!), but I didn’t get comments until I’d lost 5.5st ish and was a size 20. The first comment was at a Christmas party and I was wearing a dress for the first time in an age. It was a flattering shape and all of a sudden people who had seen me every week started commenting. I don’t think they really had any comprehension that I’d been losing weight for about 6 months at that point.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 14/11/2025 16:36

Same here @Kay2000, wasn’t really until I ditched the 26/28 clothing and moved into the 18s did the comments start, now I’m in a 14 bottom and 16 top they are frequent - I got called ‘tiny’ the other day - that I’m definitely not, but am compared to how I used to be. It’s that paper towel analogy again.

I’d also like to know how those conversations go 😉

GnomeDePlume · 14/11/2025 18:14

I'm over 6 and a half stone down and havent had any comments outside of DH and DCs.

I went into the office last week for the first time in well over a year and did notice a few people looking at me in a slightly puzzled 'something's different' way. Partly people dont like to comment. Partly, I still do have 5 stone to lose. I am still obese just not as obese as I was.

I am experimenting with new bras. My armpit boobs are now joined with my regulation boobs. I have never needed a bra to 'lift and separate' what I needed was 'hoik up and introduce'. I believe this is called a sheepdog bra - round them up and point them in the same direction.
