I drink sparkling water all day mixed with sugar free french vanilla syrup that you use in coffee! I used to live on Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke but went right off of it as it tasted sooooo sweet, now I can control the sweetness and it tastes just like cream soda (which I love).
good luck on the dress hunt… I was looking at Joanie dresses on Vinted this morning, there were a few really nice ones

Fffreeeeezing · 04/11/2025 11:44

I drink one cup of tea in the morning and then it's only sugar free squash (I'm not a fan of plain water or anything sparkling) I get through a minimum of 4 litres most days, often more, I have to rein myself back from drinking more, doesn't seem to have any effects on me though.

Mum2Fergus · 04/11/2025 11:56

Drumroll please…sz16 jeans (Next) on today!

SilenceInside · 04/11/2025 12:50

@mamabeeboo there seems to be a lot of Coast wedding guest type dresses in size 18 on Vinted atm, if that helps at all? Congratulations on the 40kg total loss so far, it is amazing when you realise how much it has all added up to.

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping congratulations on getting into the next stone down bracket!

@Mum2Fergus size 16 jeans! Brilliant, 👏

Random NSV of the week. I can keep a bobble on my wrist and it doesn't feel like my hand will fall off. Barely a bobble line in sight!

I can also put my socks and shoes on without sitting down.

108lb down. ⬇

Looooove this! Both things. Well done you 💖

When there are seriously awful photos of things on Vinted, you can report it to them.

They make the seller remove the item.

So I had my hair cut in to a bob last week..it's been very long for years .
Anyway I'm glad I had it cut .
But I can see my scalp.where the parting is on top ,I can see lots of scalp ,
Where has my hair gone 😞.
It must of gone like that ,but I'd not noticed because I wore it up in a knot on top of my head ,so that hid the scalp .
What with this and my turkey neck ...
I'm not sure if the hair loss is down to menopause or weight loss of jib jabs 😞

PearlTeapot · 04/11/2025 17:24

My hair is falling out like crazy too. But it’ll come back!

Bet having a bob feels so good after long hair for so long. So quick to shower!

From weight loss or jabs

TragicMuse · 04/11/2025 17:46

Mine seems to have thinned but I am keeping it short anyway and using thickening spray or powder!

I think it’s ageing and post-meno.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 04/11/2025 18:57

Same here with the hair, started falling out when I hit perimenopause, then thinning with menopause and falling out again with weight loss, I look like I have a lot of hair as it’s quite long and curlyish but it’s got so thin and breaks easily, I’ve noticed tufts growing back, but I don’t know if it’s from breakage or if it’s growing back. I have recently bought micro clip in hair fillers from Milk & Blush which are lovely and very comfy to wear and match perfectly with my hair colour, so I’m going to carry on with these for now. I will admit to being quite precious over my hair.

I’ve yet to pluck up the courage to go to a hairdresser, I always said I’d treat myself once I can comfortably stare at myself in the mirror, but it’s the whole small talk thing that I also struggle with, I’m also deaf in one ear (from birth) And I always worry that I’m not going to be able to hear what they are saying - am I just making excuses? arghh!

Micro Filler Clip-In Extensions

Micro Fillers are ultra-tiny clip-in hair extensions for filling fine hair or blending out layers. Available in a choice of lengths and shades.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 04/11/2025 18:58

I think hair loss is associated with the jabs but caused more by rapid weight loss rather than anything in the medication. It is generally temporary and the hair will recover naturally. But I think @TragicMuse is also right and it can also be caused by age/menopause - I've certainly noticed mine thinning gradually for a while before I started the jabs

Lds1 · 04/11/2025 21:02

I seem to lose hair but I did that before mj also, it doesn't seem to have got any better or worse since I started.

I bought some fleece lined tights from a normal shop and they've been on me all day without rolling down or falling down. All my tights are snag/better tights, but I couldn't bring myself to pay £15 for 1 pair, the ones I got were only £6!

PearlTeapot · 05/11/2025 04:54

I can’t seem to stick to my calorie allowance here. I’m trying not to boredom eat but having a sandwich on white bread for dinner every day is the most carbs I’ve had for a long time, but I don’t like the meals. And I’m having 3/4 lattes a day because the americano option on the machine tastes like shit. But I did get DW to send me the only sweetener that I like (Sugarly) so I’m at least not having sugar now in my coffees.

Breakfast is the hardest to resist. It’s all fresh pastry’s. I was having a warm pan au chocolat for breakky every day!! But I’ve had to focus and force myself to stop that habit. It’s like 350 calories and also just old me behaviours. So now I’m having a fruit yogurt but feeling pretty hard done every morning 🫢

Autumnflowers2 · 05/11/2025 06:17

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling with hair loss as well ,but it's nice to know I'm not alone .
I need to try some different products to see if I can get the thickness back .
When I was a child it was like a ponies main ..now it's wispy. And thin
ive bought a thick moisturiser cream for my face and neck ,I'm really slapping it on where it's gone wrinkly.
Menopause 😩 😩 😩 😩

Autumnflowers2 · 05/11/2025 06:19

@PearlTeapot ...sounds so hard hunny ..your doing your best ,that's all you can do x

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 05/11/2025 07:21

Oh @PearlTeapot is there anyone you can talk this through with on the ward? I would genuinely up your calorie allowance while in hospital and aim to maintain not lose - your body is doing so much with healing that reduction in calories might not be the thing it needs this week.

TragicMuse · 05/11/2025 07:36

That sounds so hard @PearlTeapot working on recovery while not feeling nourished must be taking more of your resources that you want.

Is fruit an option? Or an egg?

I wonder if you can have a chat with the nutritionist and come up with a plan together? Then you would feel more in control. Or have a food shop delivered. My friend has breast cancer and has been in hospital since July and she has deliveries daily because she doesn't like the food. She is in a swish private hospital tho and has a fridge kettle microwave so I dont know what yours is like. She's not allowed to exercise but does have a walking pad and does youtube videos between rounds. She's in isolation so no visitors allowed but things can be delivered to the desk.

PearlTeapot · 05/11/2025 09:12

Morning everyone, thank you. Things always feel more bleak at 5am don't they?

I’m absolutely broke so can't order food in, otherwise I would. They do try and encourage me to eat different food but it's just the anxiety plus autism plus out of control feelings making me stick to salad for lunch and sandwich for dinner. I feel like I can't eat another sandwich though. This morning I saw the chef and he suggested a jacket potato for dinner but that feels too heavy to have as an evening meal although I will take that option for lunch and then try salad for dinner instead.

@Doggymummar lots of love to your friend with her recovery. I'm in a private hospital too and it is lovely and I'm very lucky to be here. The salads are excellent etc but because I won't leave my room I can't go down to the restaurant to pick out food which means I just stick to what I know. We are working on building up to going there though, this morning at 7 I went there for the first time and got a coffee.

EDIT TO ADD... sorry if my posts are annoying people, I realise we're on a weight loss thread and I'm a misery in my mental health at the moment. I love my friends on this thread though but I can try to keep it off if anyone wants to PM me and let me know if they think it's not appropriate. I wont take it personally.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 05/11/2025 09:53

Oh @PearlTeapot, we’re all with you ♥️. Please don’t feel that your burdening anyone, we are all truly rooting for you lovely x

@PearlTeapot I'm sure that nobody on this thread is finding your posts annoying. We've built up a small community of online friends on this series of threads and I've found that we're invariably good to one another.

We're all together for the long haul and I feel that we support one another, through whatever challenges life throws at us.

You must miss your wife terribly. Has she been able to get down to see you?

I sometimes wonder if the majority of people realise that it isn't uncommon for mental health patients to be admitted to psychiatric hospitals which are hundreds of miles from those patients' homes.
