Well so much for my friend getting a shock! She’s lost a similar amount of weight and looks fab.

DH has just rung, full of excitement as he’s been offered tickets for something tonight. We’ve been married 32 years, known each other for nearly 40 so I don’t know why he sounded so surprised when I declined knowing; 1) I have an important meeting that I’m chairing tonight, 2) I bloody HATE musicals. Apparently it’s really funny and I’d enjoy it but I really wouldn’t. I walked out of a pantomime a couple of years ago because they sang too much. He knows that if I ask if there’s an interval I definitely won’t be there for the second half 🤣

I think I need to sit him down and explain very clearly that now I’ve turned 60 I’m not wasting a single minute of my life on shit I don’t like. That includes the ‘birthday treat’ tickets for a punk tribute act he doesn’t think I know about. 🤣. His birthday is in February so I’ll be retaliating obviously.

MJalltheway · 06/10/2025 15:05

Love a good grey hairdo! Yours is gorgeous @Jins I don't dye mine either, I started going grey at 30 (premature greying is a symptom of pernicious anaemia I later found out!) and just couldn't be arsed! I love the colour it is now, very salt and pepper.

I don't blame you @meatyryvita , the thing is you've had experience of Mounjaro working so hard to then go back to slow/no loss. I hope with shopping around you'll be able to find a provider who isn't too expensive (relatively!)
@Thelittlestranger repeat after me....No Work Drinks!!! 😁

@Jins what was the musical? My DD drags me along to a few, she loves them. I have to admit to being quite impressed with some of them even though it's not something I'd really choose to watch.

just had another consultation meeting for second round of redundancies at work - what joy. My job's not at risk but morale is so low.

HeidiLite · 06/10/2025 15:12

@Jins has the friend also...taken the.. potion?? 😁

@MJalltheway sorry to hear. In my previous workplace, I think we went through a round or redundancies every second year (and then realised we actually needed most of the people and hired them back). I was never affected but indeed just kills the morale.

Jins · 06/10/2025 15:55

@MJalltheway it was the Book of Mormon. He’s already seen it and said it’s really funny but no amount of humour can make up for the fact that there’s a hell of a lot of singing. I can cope with Rocky Horror on the stage and My Fair Lady and Grease as films but that’s it. Sorry to hear about redundancies, it’s so demoralising. I think I survived four rounds before the axe fell and I was relieved when it did.

@HeidiLite - no use of potion. She was hovering around BMI 28 (no co-morbidities) and finances wouldn’t allow it anyway so she’s done it the old fashioned way and suffered. Luckily she did controlled carbs which I know a lot about so we exchanged a few recipes and moved on to gossip.

2025istheyeari · 06/10/2025 17:19

Hi everybody

Cbecking back in after a weekend in Tbilisi! Just what the doctor ordered, good friends, amazing weather, beautiful city with loads of art, green spaces and the most fabulous wine! Drank more this weekend than I have all year and it was bloody marvellous!! Definitely recommend Georgia, know you were keen to hear how it was after being there years ago @HeidiLite. Not weighed yet, loads of walking and ate well ( food quite comforty!) so any increase will be wine and plane related I think, leaving it until Friday. Come back fully recharged and raring to go on job search ( yawn!).

@myladyjane 15 minute lasagne seriously?! That’s a bloody labour of love every time. Super impressed with your batch cooking efforts, well done!

sorry for those still feeling rubbish, @PenelopesPursuitPrevails hope you’re feeling a bit perkier and that the assessment day went well?

@BreezyPeer ooooh, first date sounds v promising!!! Hope next even better! Well done on losing more too!!

@Jins you have beautiful hair, am v jealous, mine is naturally brown but v grey so now blonde and thin, bloody awful!

@MJalltheway sorry to hear about redundancies, it’s always such a tough time and survivor syndrome is a real thing, hope you’re ok.

Sorry, I’m sure I’ve missed some people but you’ve been v chatty!!

meatyryvita · 06/10/2025 19:14

SheMed got in touch very quickly and have offers a higher dose of Wegovy. I’m happy to give it a go but won’t hesitate to move on if the results are still disappointing.

@2025istheyeari love the sound of Tbilisi! I think that around there is the birthplace of wine, so no wonder it was fantastic.

Hope you’re feeling better @PenelopesPursuitPrevails!

@MJalltheway sorry to hear about the redundancies. The constant stress and morale issues make it rather unpleasant.

Have a lovely evening losers! X

Greetings friends. @myladyjane you always make me smile - we are maidens indeed 😁.

Pleased you had a great time away @2025istheyeari . I've never considered Tbilisi. I just googled it, looks great.

@MJallthewayredunancy consultations are an awful process to witness/live through, whether your job is affected or not.

@2025istheyeari I still feel rubbish but I went to the assesement day (looking like Casper 👻, as white as a sheet), surprisingly I passed. I need to wait to see what the next step is/brings. I bet they timetable something for next week.

@meatyryvita I hope the higher dose helps. I think I'll jab on Wednesday, I am planning on going up to 7.5mg. No weight loss band not much food either.

I've got a busy (for a slightly poorly semi-retired person 😜) day tomorrow. I need to give DD a lift at 6am, have some work to do before an in person meeting at noon and another one at 5pm, I don't expect to get home until about 10pm, slow train journey with a long wait in between trains. I expect I'll have a rest day on Wednesday.

HeidiLite · 06/10/2025 19:54

@2025istheyeari did you eat any khachapuri? Yum.

Sorry you are still feeling rubbish @PenelopesPursuitPrevails but glad you passed the assesment anyway!

It's my birthday tomorrow, no special plans as frankly simply cannot be arsed. DS promised to cook and I'll go to a nice thermal bath place with a friend at some later date. I have asked for one day though when nobody needs me and everybody will use their own brain for once (I don't know if we have any more soy sauce OMG just check, it's where it has always been.) 😁
But - this year, I am the slimmest and fittest I have been my entire life.

meatyryvita · 06/10/2025 20:07

Oh khachapuri! You’re right @HeidiLite they are the BEST! I visited Moscow many years ago and used to go to a Georgian restaurant that did amazing khachapuri - cheese and bread, what’s not to love!

@HeidiLite happy birthday for tomorrow!

Polkadotdash · 06/10/2025 20:09

@meatyryvita thats interesting about your experience on WeGovy. I’m finding much less appetite suppression, but I switched to a lower dose of WeGovy than I was on on MJ. I need to order my next pen soon and go up a dose. I can’t find a supplier with a good long term price for WeGovy though. It seems to be that the introductory price is good for most places. Then the follow up price is a huge hike.

Zempy · 06/10/2025 20:26

Take it easy @PenelopesPursuitPrevails, pace yourself!

Happy Birthday fellow Lovely Libran @HeidiLite.

@2025istheyeari would you say Tblisi would be safe for a geriatric solo female traveler?

In other news, one of my so called friends has signed us both up for some hellscape called Reformer Pilates. I have never been to a gym in my life. How worried should I be?

MJalltheway · 06/10/2025 20:28

Happy birthday for tomorrow @HeidiLite ! Let us know how the engaging brains works, I'd love to know if there's a trick to getting them to do it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've had some crackers from mine while at uni and interrailing (no DD, I don't know anything about the vagaries of Bulgarian postal services, maybe you could ask them as you are in a Bulgarian post office...?)

thanks for the redundancy sympathies, it just sucks all round really. If I wasn't hoping to take early retirement in a couple of years, I'd be looking for a job myself. although looking at retirement the way @PenelopesPursuitPrevails does it makes me exhausted! That sounds like a busy day for anyone let alone a semi-retired person.

HeidiLite · 06/10/2025 20:41

@Zempy um, so...moderately worried, at least 😁

2025istheyeari · 06/10/2025 21:08

Aah a very happy, slim birthday @HeidiLite , have a great day!
Yes, we did try that, one bread between 4 of us, omg it was amazing!!
We only went to Tbilisi because BA launched a new direct flight and I’m a bit of an adventure seeker!! It was stunning, and so much to do!
@Zempy we felt safe ( other than the drivers who are crazy) but it’s worth keeping an eye out as there were local elections on Saturday, I’d read about them on the FCDO website and had checked our restaurant wasn’t anywhere near where they thought there may be demos. Turned out there was quite a bit of trouble although we didn’t see it. There have also been political demos for over 200 days. We took taxis at night too.
yes, Georgia is the birthplace of wine and it was phenomenal and really reasonable!

@PenelopesPursuitPrevails yay, great news. Hope your day tomorrow goes ok and glad you can take it a bit easier on Wednesday.

myladyjane · 06/10/2025 22:05

@Zempy I think it’s some kind of sex dungeon activity if I’m honest. Seems to be a lot of sliding around and waving legs in the air.

Morning 🌄 losers!
@myladyjane reformer pilates sex dungeon sounds like a business idea! 🤣🤣🤣
@HeidiLite Happy Birthday! 🎂 🥳 🎉
@MJalltheway hope the redundancy stuff works out in your favour

I've got a busy day at work, followed by book club and a meal out. I've already ordered a small fish and chips as there are so many of us. Really looking forward to it 😀
Have a great day everyone.
The date is still texting me and we are continuing to get on well. Another date looks on the cards at the weekend. (exciting!)

Zempy · 07/10/2025 07:17

@myladyjane well now I am sold!!

Zempy · 07/10/2025 07:50

And in other news, I accidentally lost a pound! Am now a new low of 8:10.

Not too worried as off to Malta next week and will be eating and drinking much more than usual.

myladyjane · 07/10/2025 08:56

Morning mes amies

well I don’t know what happened to me yesterday but I was hit with a thunderous upset tummy in the night. I was about to say I didn’t eat anything controversial but I did have eggs actually. I also felt very shivery and a bit dizzy so perhaps not the mj and a bit of a bug. Have decided to wfh today in any event.

@BreezyPeer 😜

@Zempy I hear you do need to wear something pvc so best get on vinted.

i realised that I probably need to reorder if I don’t want to get told off for having too much of a gap. Am hoping to switch to pharmulous who seem reasonably priced and sensible re maintenance: not sure what to order - I have a stone to go and 12 doses of 10mg in the fridge. Am thinking another 10mg pen from which I can lower my dose then hopefully move down a pen. Sound sensible do we think?

Jins · 07/10/2025 09:16

@myladyjane sounds sensible to me. You’ve reminded me that I need to work out when I should be ordering next and stick a note in my calendar. I had a date in my head but then I made another order and I’ve forgotten my timetable.

@Zempy I’m very envious and I hope you enjoy Malta as much as I did. Since returning I’ve discovered that it’s a bit of a marmite destination and people have been very forthright in telling me it’s a shithole. As far as I can make out it’s because the beaches are rocky and there are cranes and construction everywhere. Well yes, it’s a small rocky island where people live and work so peaceful expanses of sandy beaches aren’t there but in terms of architecture, history, friendliness and price I found it hard to criticise. We had a drink each and DH had a massive slice of apple pie in a smart cafe in the centre of Valletta. 8 euros!!! They wanted that for a coffee in Corfu Town.

The scales are moving downwards again and I’m bang on 9st today. I’ve not made much of an effort to lose the weight so most of it was obviously down to holiday food, plane travel and constipation as I’d hoped. I’m hoping to get to 8st 11 before Xmas as it’s in my head now as a target but I’m not bothered if I don’t. It’s really liberating not to have to worry about gaining a pound anymore. A pound gained in the past was soon joined by 5 more.

Flu jab today so I’m planning an evening of mindless tv. Have a great day all.

Zempy · 07/10/2025 09:25

@myladyjane I am never off Vinted. It’s an addiction!

@jinsI have no interest in beaches. I’m a cathedral/museums kind of person so it sounds ideal.

Polkadotdash · 07/10/2025 09:32

Another 2lb on this week. Utterly depressing. FFS. Not sure that WeGovy is doing the trick for me.

Jins · 07/10/2025 10:00

@Zempy a kindred spirit! In that case Mdina and the catacombs in Rabat and Victoria on Gozo will be right up your street.

Good morning Friends in my Phone!

Happy birthday @HeidiLite!

@Zempy I like reformer. Sounds terrible, looks weird but feels good (now I’ve written that it looks strange but I’m sticking with it). You can adjust as you go along with different resistance so you’re working at the right level too.

@Jins I’m not a musicals fan at all but I did enjoy Book of Mormon. Also Rocky Horror, Operation Mincemeat and a few others but in general they bore me. Just say it once ffs and stop wasting time singing is my usual response.

Hope you’re feeling better @myladyjane and that everybody else is doing OK.

I saw this today and thought it was quite interesting, especially as we think towards maintenance www.bbc.co.uk/future/article/20251003-is-it-possible-to-lose-weight-on-an-ozempic-diet
