Tinnitus and MJ?

Just wondering if anyone has had this? It’s just started in the last couple of weeks in one ear only. I suspect it might be related
to Eustachian tube or something as it stops if I put a finger in my ear and wiggle it about…but starts again as soon as I remove my finger.

The only other thing is MJ and I wonder if there’s a connection at all? I did look it up but didn’t see anything.

I'm pretty sure I read something on here where someone's tinnitus disappeared after using Mounjaro.

Edited to add a link: Unexpected (positive) side effect of Mounjaro | Mumsnet

How come Google can find threads when MN can't?!

Apologies - duplicate post.

I have seen tinnitus being discussed anecdotally where it has either appeared or existing tinnitus has improved.

I've had tinnitus for 12 years (had all the tests, MRI scans etc but they found nothing) and it hasn't improved or worsened it.

It is possible it is related, but also I don't think it has been confirmed as an actual side effect.

So I had tinnitus for 14 years pre-MJ and it was always a low hum. The first month on Mounjaro it changed to a high pitched squeal/ringing. Genuinely thought about giving up because it was that bad.

I'm 6 months in now though and as of a couple of weeks ago it's back to the low hum with only the occasional period of high pitched ringing.

I don't know if it was actually caused by MJ or if it was just coincidence. There are quite a lot posts on the mounjaro reddit subs from people who developed or had worsening tinnitus after starting the jabs.

That’s really interesting. This is a high pitched squeal and intermittent beeping. At first I thought it was something in the house and was going around with my ear up against appliances. 😅

I can only hear it if I’m in a very quiet space but most of the time there’s a distracting noise around me which drowns it out. If I knew it was MJ related (and short term), I think I’d be able to put up with it.

Well strangely, last night it just stopped. I’ve had it for over a week and then I suddenly noticed it wasn’t there any more. Such a relief!
