Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Loving reading all the comments.
Well done on all your losses this week - too many to mention
@cannyvalley
Loving your post. Its so lovely when people notice.
I work in a nursery school and this week I've been allowed to drop my uniform as my top was a dress. This week I've had a plain top on that fits. So many parents commented as well as colleagues as to how much I have shrunk.
From a size 20/22 to 12/14
What a difference!

Today I am 4lbs down since last Thursday. 49lbs gone altogether.
I never thought it would go this quickly. I'm now under 11 stone which is so great!
Keep going everyone we have sooooo got this.

GoGoGovy · 04/09/2025 19:39

@Merlin23 that is an amazing weight loss. Flippin well done!
Can I ask you a personal question? Have you now got a lot of loose skin or has it sprung back? I’ve only lost 1.5 stone and although I exercise, I have developed bingo wings and a saggy tummy. Apart from upping the weight training, I’m at a loss as to what I can do.

I've got the bingo wings but had those from when I lost weight before. It took 4 years to get to the exact weight I am today last time so very slow in comparison. Everything else seems to have shrunk. I'm 53 so I thought my skin would struggle especially losing so quickly.
I need to do the dumbells. But want to concentrate on losing first.

GoGoGovy · 04/09/2025 20:06

@Merlin23 similar age - I'm 57. Quite shocked at how little elasticity I have in my skin. I’ve never moisturised my body, so perhaps that is the reason. I’m on holiday and wearing my bikini, but actually feel less confident than the last holiday as my skin seems so saggy. I’m probably dehydrated, so that won’t help.

cannyvalley · 04/09/2025 22:54

@GoGoGovy, re saggy tummy’s… in years gone by my tummy was super wrinkly after having kids, when I lost loads of weight. When I was a bit bigger it plumped out , but when I was smaller my tummy looked like an old wrinkly apple!

now I’ve gone from being much bigger, to less small than I was back then, my sagginess is different. I have some wrinkly apple belly, but I mainly have more loose flesh that is quite… foldable 🫣
im guessing this is because I was in my 20’s when I had kids and was only very big when preggers. I’ve been bigger for quite a few years now and am not in my 20’s anymore!!!

I’m hoping that this magically shrinks down, but I’m not sure if this is realistic 🤷🏻‍♀️

im also very interested in anyone’s experience of skin/body changes after weight loss.

Crunchymum · 05/09/2025 06:59

Happy Friday all.

-2lbs this week so I'm -38lbs overall. Unbelievable that I'm quite close to 3st gone now.

Feeling good on 10mg. Was less hungry and had less food noise this week which I'm pleased about but period is due next week so we'll see how it all goes.

Off to a family party tomorrow, meeting lots of DP's extended family for the first time / seeing people I've not seen for years. We've been together 18 years but it's family from abroad etc. I'll be doing it on a very flattering dress which is a size 14. Knickers are down from an 18 to a 14 and I'm wearing interim bras of 36DD (instead of 42E)

I'm getting comments left, right and centre now (it's been the holidays so I'm seeing people I've not seen since July). Mainly they've been "you look well" type comments but I have been grilled by one mum I know. I told a white lie and said I'd changed my arthritis meds - which is true, I started a new med in July - but I just don't trust this woman not to tell others. She's a bit of a gossip. Plus she's not a friend of mine, it's none of her business. I don't like lying though.

Anyway I'll stop gabbing. Happy weekend all, onwards and downwards.

AbundanceofKatherines · 05/09/2025 07:34

Well done @Crunchymum! I have also been into work after a period of time off and have been welcomed with complimentary comments of how great I look. It’s nice but I actually wish they’d just ignore the change. Maybe if they ignore it I’d be affronted though?! 😆

2.5lbs off for me this week, also bringing me to a total loss of 38lbs. I’ve burst Into the 9s with a 9st 11.8 (BMI 24.4). I can’t adequately describe just how fabulous this feels. I’m so glad I plucked up the courage to begin this journey with you all.

I have moved back down to 5mg this week (from 6mg) and I used (part of) the “golden dose” for the first time. It was easy - although the needle is not as sharp so you have to push a bit harder into the skin 🫣 and it’s a bit longer so you have to stop pushing quickly - if you don’t want the needle to go too far in. (Sorry for the tmi). My next pen is a 7.5, which I plan to use as 5mg doses (this might change if I stop losing). And I have just requested to go back down to a 5mg pen for my next one. Plan is:

6 weeks of 5mg from 7.5mg pen - maybe 7 or 8 doses if I’m brave enough to use for so long (last one would be smaller).

Use the 5mg pen to wean off taking me up to Christmas ish.

Order a final 2.5mg to keep unopened in the fridge in case of weight gain.

Have super weekends everyone x

wk 19?! Loss 1lb
total loss 3st 1lb

Im a day early weighing in this week as we go away tomorrow for a few days!!
My Medexpress pen arrived yesterday at last!! 3 weeks since I ordered but at least I’ve got it now lol!!!
well done everyone and have a fab week!!!!

StartingApril2025 · 05/09/2025 13:01

@AbundanceofKatherines @Crunchymum @Coventree brilliant results well done! I agree with the saggy sick concern for some of us, my stomach is still flabby and my back/ arms. My legs have disappeared however, probably muscle lose there though.
did a day early weigh and 0.5lbs down this week bringing me to 3stone half a pound 🤪
this week I bought some size 12 and size 14 jeans and both fitted so that’s better than my previous 16s that were digging in.
I do definitely have to go shopping but I hate shopping and think I still have a mental block that nothing is going to fit me or look good. I don’t feel like I have any style?!
for years I’ve always thought I’m too fat, I can’t wear than and I guess I still have that feeling. I am 13.5 lbs away from target and feel like il be plodding on for ages yet!

Hawkmoth · 05/09/2025 15:27

Just wanted to share that I've been to the chemist today and today's pen was the same price (£160) but the next will be £200. I live too far away from civilization to risk getting deliveries so I won't be shopping around.

Hawkmoth · 05/09/2025 15:27

That's 5mg btw. No plans to go up as suppression is still really strong.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 06/09/2025 01:24

@wlinewbie0425 Excellent loss! Omg you're so close to a healthy bmi!!!

@Seahawk80 I'm a morning jabber because I like to be conscious and alert to panic over any side effects 😂 That only really applied to the first couple of weeks but I've stuck with the same time

@toobusytoclean great loss and NSVs!

@cannyvalley I like having the security of a couple of pens in the fridge and not having to worry about delivery delays and stock issues. Yay for genuine and tactful comments!

@Coffeeandallthebooks Great loss! Under 30 bmi would be an awesome birthday gift, fingers crossed for you!

@Hawkmoth @Merlin23 Wow!! They are huge losses!!

@Crunchymum Great loss! It's none of their business what medication you are or are not taking. By all means shout it from the rooftops if you want to, but there's also nothing wrong with keeping your private medical information to yourself. Have fun at the party/family reunion, hope you get lots of compliments on your dress!

@AbundanceofKatherines Great loss!! Congrats on getting into the 9s!!!!
I don't like the slightly blunter needle but it's worth it to save lots of ££s!

@BeachBodyAim Great loss! These long delays have been stressful, glad it eventually arrived!

@StartingApril2025 Great loss! Congrats on the tiny size 12 butt!!

Tomorrow is jab day and I don't know what dose to do. I want to eat all the things, I have zero satiety after eating anything and zero suppression and constant food noise :(
I've been managing to stay on track with willpower but it's been tough this week. I could drop back down to 3.75mg and hope I get the good effects back. Or I could do 2 more weeks of 5mg and hope willpower can see me through till I can increase. Or I could ignore the 4 week minimum on each dose and just increase now? I don't know which to choose. I want the satiety and quiet back 😭

Undecided2025 · 06/09/2025 08:09

Morning everyone! Well done on all the losses. I feel like I’ve caught up a little bit. I took a 3 week break when I was on holiday, then struggled to get another pen quickly when I got back so had 5/6 weeks off all in. So it’s jab 15 for me tomorrow and so far I’m - 2 stone 1 lb and bmi 25.3.

NSV - all of a sudden this week I’ve had work mates and friends commenting of my loss. Maybe 2 stone is the charm.

@Merlin23 @cannyvalley @GoGoGovy I recommend yoga yoga yoga as often as you can. I tried to lose weight on my own the last couple of years and became a bit of a yoga convert. Obviously the weight didn’t change enough for me, but my shape completely did. I’m much leaner, my arms are loads better and my legs look quite strong for the first time ever. In terms of weight, you’re holding your whole body. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really love it now.

GoGoGovy · 06/09/2025 08:49

@Undecided2025 thanks. I already do Pilates. I’ll try and book a yoga class or at least find an online class. I was a bit of a yoga addict about 15 years ago (last time I was thin!) and did feel really good, but I moved and never found another class that I liked in the new area.

dozywelshbird · 06/09/2025 10:07

Some amazing losses and NSVs 😁 good work everyone.

2lb loss this week, yay, taking me to 27lb in total since 28th April. Much slower than some but it I'll take it.

I'm currently on 5mg and reluctant to move up due to cost, but have felt a bit hungrier the last 2 days, will give it another week and see how I fare.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend 😊

Zebracat · 06/09/2025 12:34

Well done everyone . 87.7 kilos today, a loss of 1.4 kg. Best I’ve had in ages. I’m firmly into the 13s after a few weeks of wobbling about. I usually weigh in kilos but keep an eye on different scales so that I get more little victories. I’m also wearing size 14 trousers . Just gone up to 10 mg and it is really helping. I’m about a pound off a 3 stone loss, but the constipation is back , so if I can just sort that out..

Zebracat · 06/09/2025 12:42

However,I sometimes think I have an overly flattering perception of myself. And yesterday this was confirmed . I’m seeing medical professionals to help with my back problems, I had an appointment and needed to stand in front of 2 full length angled mirrors. Oh my word, I definitely do need to lose another 3 stone . It was ghastly. I also now want rhinoplasty . So is that a non scale defeat? It was quite motivating in its own way.

toobusytoclean · 06/09/2025 17:22

Well I took the plunge after my NSVs on Tuesday evening and have gone clothes shopping with my daughter.
For context I’m 58 and have always dressed conservatively and in my 30s and 40s loved Hobbs dresses and tops.
So braved Hobbs today as I’d seen some nice dresses online. My daughter picked out quite a collection in size 16 with me and the sales assistant came over to help. Looked me up and down and immediately said “These are too big for you”
So I am now the proud owner of 2 size 14 dresses, and 2 size 14 tops 😍. Including a gorgeous dress for my friend’s wedding next month.
I was a size 18 loose fit elasticated waistband kinda girl before starting this journey.

wendywoopywoo222 · 06/09/2025 17:54

I’ve lost another pound this week so 3 stone 6 pounds gone. Only one person has noticed or commented but I have been so up and down in the past so that’s no surprise. Got out all my smallest ever clothes that I haven’t worn in ten years and I don’t have many bits that don’t fit so that’s a win. 😊😊. Still on 2.5 and inject every 9 or 10 days

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 06/09/2025 20:02

I lost 2.1 lbs this week, no idea how that happened but I'm very pleased it did!
I hit 40lbs down, 1.7 away from the 3st club, and moved down to the next stone, I'm now in the 16s (which I know compared to some of you is still very high but I started at almost 20 and comparison is the thief of joy so we're not doing that!) I really needed some wins today! 😁
SW 277 / 19st11 / 125.6kg
CW 236.7 / 16st12.7 / 107.4kg

I haven't jabbed today. I was ready to rage quit and throw all my mj pens in the bin, I decided not to do that but the last two weeks have been a struggle and I can't make myself inject medication that's making me feel rough if I'm not getting any good effects from it.
(and before anyone says but you lost 2lbs so it did something... nope my willpower and I are taking all the credit for that one thank you very much! 😂 )
I'll decide tomorrow what to do next, maybe take a break idk, but today I feel relieved to not jab which is very different to the usual excited to jab feelings I have felt up till now

PumpKim · 07/09/2025 09:06

Well done in the loss @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy sorry you're feeling negative about continuing with the jabs and they've been making you feel rough ☹️

Back from a 10 day holiday yesterday and I've more or less stayed the same weight, give or take 0.1 of a pound so I'll take that as a win 🎉
I didn't take my pen with me in the end, so jabbed the day we went which was normal jab day for me and then missed the next, and am going to jab today. Can't decide whether to keep Sunday as my normal day or gradually push back a day at a time to get back to Wednesday which is my comfort zone, but it's all in the mind I'm sure!
Food noise didn't get worse towards the end of the 10 days after missing the jab but I definitely started to be able to eat more, I really struggled at the beginning and I wasn't enjoying eating out at all. At the end I was much better but it was a combination of making better choices of lighter dishes and the jab dosage wearing off I think.

Now to start on the washing and get everyone prepared for back to work and school!

violetmondays · 07/09/2025 09:56

Morning! Slighter later than usual update for me. Weighed in Friday and hadn’t really lost anything last week (less than 1/2 a pound) and I can see that I was definitely eating more including nibbling on the kids popcorn chicken (haven’t snacked on their food since I started MJ) and a couple of portions of foraged apple & blackberry crumble and custard that I made. I have been on 3.75mg since the second month and I think it’s maybe starting to wear off a bit now. I’ve been doing 45 clicks of a 5mg pen. I’ve got about 9lb to lose to target. I probably should just bite the bullet but I think I’m fairly sensitive to it like some others on here and worry about side effects. Anyway, on Friday I upped it to 50 clicks which I think is about 4.2mg. I feel ok and depending how this week goes I might up to 5 for the next jab.

Well done on the fab losses and nsvs this week @wendywoopywoo222@Zebracat@dozywelshbird@Coffeeandallthebooks@Hawkmoth@Merlin23@Crunchymum@AbundanceofKatherines@BeachBodyAim@StartingApril2025@Coventree - sorry if I’ve missed anyone it’s difficult to keep up after a couple of busy days on the thread.

@toobusytoclean ahhh congrats on the new much smaller clothes it feels really good doesn’t it!

@slightlysmallerpoisonivygreat loss but sorry you’re feeling rough, maybe just a week or two break will reduce the build up a bit?

@Zebracat I’ve always wanted a rhinoplasty but not sure whether at my age (50) I should just live with it now - I think it would have changed my life
drastically if I’d had earlier in life but I’m not so sure now? 🤔

@pumpkin glad you had a good holiday and result!

Have a great Sunday all!

Undecided2025 · 07/09/2025 18:16

Argh! Can someone help me pls? My brain has gone to mush. I’ve been using 3.75 on a 5 mg pen, so 45 clicks. Went to take my dose there and got 31 clicks before it stopped. I have needles, but cannot work out what I should be extracting into the syringe to top up my dose. To further complicate it, I was going to do 50 clicks to give me 4.2ish. Anyone have a working mind? 🤪

So you are 1.25 mls short
You need to draw 1.5mls out so if using an insulin needle that will be 15.
I think that is correct. Happy for someone else to correct/check my workings
