Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Morning all, congrats on all the fab losses and NSVs especially @violetmondays. Size 10 jeans and from Zara!! Amazing.

On holiday at the moment waiting for the family to wake up. Food has been an issue for me this hols, eating in restaurants most evenings has made me realise just how high my suppression is. Everything that arrives just looks huge and overwhelming and then I can't finish even half. Usually food is my holiday highlight.

Been browsing Monj for new prices, has anyone used Dr Weightmans? They are showing £185 for 7.5mg but thinking that's possibly the old price?

dozywelshbird · 01/09/2025 09:15

some amazing losses and NSVs :)

no loss for me this week, it has been TOTM, but still disappointed, I need to be making a bigger dent in this weight loss as can't afford to keep going with the pens :( I have 1 and a half 7.5mg pens left (that I am taking 5mg from) and unless prices come down then that's probably it for me, but I still have a good 15-20lbs left to lose - gah!

Anyway, here's to a good week for everyone... 😁

Same happened to me 2 weeks ago no loss because of totm. The following week I lost 4lbs.
Hopefully you've just got water retention.

Merlin23 · 01/09/2025 10:24

A big moment. I have just cancelled my SheMed subscription.
I have 5 more doses of 7.5mg. Then I have a 10mg pen which I am looking to use as 5mg for 4 weeks then 8 weeks of 2.5mg or 6 weeks of 5mg and 4 weeks of 2.5mg
I feel like I now have an end in sight.
Now just hoping I can maintain in 2026 and beyond.
I have a GP appointment about something else but I am going to ask about local support. I'm not hopeful they will help but it's worth a try. It might plant a seed.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.

Now back to my studying before work tomorrow.

Crunchymum · 01/09/2025 15:39

Slightly non related but I can't really tell anyone in RL.

I ordered a pen from YourMedicals on 18th August - £134 (with discount) for 10mg. 10 days later they send an email to say they can only fulfil if I pay extra - think it was a random £85 on top of the £134. Of course I don't want to pay some ad hoc extra amount when I'd agreed at a certain price. So I cancel and head over to Trustpilot and my review mirrors many others (YM obvs sent a group email about the higher price en masse). Well anyway Trustpilot then email to ask me to verify my review - they need to see proof of the order / cheaper cost etc. I send all the info within 30 minutes. TP then go on to remove all the negative reviews citing "unusual numbers of negative reviews" - urm yes all of which were after Yourmedicals sent a group email asking people for more money.

I have been in a 3 day battle with Trustpilot to get my review reinstated. I accused TP of censorship and supporting fraud.

My review is back up!

I feel like Erin freaking Brockovich.

None of this actually detracts from the fact I should have just paid the extra £85 and it would still be cheaper than what I will be paying now!!

Greetings from The Med!

For the first time in years, I am not at an AI hotel. It’s working out quite well because there is no opportunity to snack and drink cocktails all day long ( not at €10 per cocktail!). I tend to eat a good healthy breakfast - yogurt, fruit and seeds. Salad or soup for lunch, then a small dinner with a couple of large glasses of wine in the evening. Probably all within my daily allowance.
There are hardly any Brits at this hotel and it has been quite interesting watching how our European cousins eat and drink. I don’t want to put my fellow countrymen down, but not once have I seen anyone downing pints at 10am. There is no hotel shop selling a dozen types of crisps or biscuits. Breakfast seems to consist of lots of yogurt, fruit, salads, olives and feta cheese.
Id love to adopt this way of eating when I get home, but the thought of endless grey, rainy months just calls for carbs - must resist!
Like @pumpkin I am struggling to finish my meals, which has put a little dampener on things.

I know exactly what you mean. We have tried to stay away from hotels with predominantly British people. We tend to stay off the beaten track. The first holiday myself and husband did put us off package holidays and we tend to book our accommodation and flights separately. Buffets have always put me off food as I hate watching people piling food up high taking a bite and going to chose something different. As a non drinker I've never understood the alcohol at all hours culture.
We went on a cruise in June and the amount of wasted food broke my heart. Especially now when you see people starving in Gaza.
I ate reasonably well but didn't finish any of the evening meals and I hate to see food wasted. I lost 4lbs that week 😆

I think getting into a mindset of eating until full and not eating because it's there is going to be the hardest change after the food suppression goes.

I would love to eat a more Mediterranean diet but I don't like a lot of it and our culture means as it get cold we go stodgy.

@Crunchymum I still feel bad that I was the one that mentioned them 🙈

Have you had your refund yet? My order status still says under review even though I confirmed I wanted to cancel when they emailed. Very annoying!

Oh gosh, I was glad for the recommendation. If it had all panned out I would have been laughing!

I actually just got the email to confirm my order has even cancelled (I selected the cancel option on 28th) but no refund to my card yet.

Will definitely steer clear of any suppliers not on the official monj list going forwards though!

Hi everyone was due to injected yesterday and a family emergency cropped up and I had to drive 3 hrs away very suddenly and ended up staying overnight and won’t be back home to very late tonight. Didn’t remember to inject before I left yesterday and on the journey remembered and thought it’s fine I’ve had high suppression il hardly notice the extra day … not true! Don’t know if it’s psychological or physical but all day I’ve been looking for the next thing to eat all the time. I was in a hospital cafe for lunch and tea both days and ate way more than A) normal and B) than I thought I could eat! Tried to eat semi healthy things today to hopefully avoid having to stop for toilet repeatedly on journey home tonight! Scares me a bit that in future without this MJ il be munching all round me again!

@StartingApril2025
Just remember how far you've come.
You have had a stressful time and one day is one day. Start again tomorrow!
You've got this! 🤗

violetmondays · 01/09/2025 21:49

Just having a look at the new prices. If anyone is looking to switch providers I can really recommend Swift Doctor. According to Monj.co.uk they are one of the cheapest (especially for the lower doses). I switched to them a couple of pens ago and it was simple to move, as well as quick delivery and well packaged.
they don’t seem to email customers with updates but regularly update their website with the latest info.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 01/09/2025 23:47

Thanks @PeachSnail 😘

Excellent loss @violetmondays yay for tiny new jeans!

@PeachSnail all losses count! well done, and for the fab run time too!

@PumpKim hope you are having a great time on holiday!

@Crunchymum / Erin Brockovich well done for standing your ground and getting your review reinstated! some of these pharmacies have been very shady during all this and we should be able to call them out and warn other people

@GoGoGovy hope you are having a great time!

@StartingApril2025 stress will have you craving all the things, I hope your family member is ok

toobusytoclean · 02/09/2025 19:17

@Merlin23 i too have cancelled with SheMed and gave them honest feedback as to why - if I’m paying that much money I want to control what dose I’m on.
a little worried that I haven’t founD anything to switch to, so thanks @violetmondays for the news on Swift Doctor.
well done @Crunchymum on standing up for us all and highlighting some of the very shady practices that have been going on since the price increase was announced.
@StartingApril2025 stress definitely seems to be stronger than Mounjaro 🤣. I’m on 7.5mg but with my new year group arriving at college tomorrow and all the prep required and last minute changes I feel like I could eat for England this evening. Have had a quite slice of cheese and am prepping lamb and veg and am hoping tha I can leave mos of the garlic hasselback potatoes on my plate if I eat the rest first 🤣

Seahawk80 · 02/09/2025 19:36

I’m back! Had a great week in Cornwall and was glad I didn’t jab, enjoyed myself and ate and drank what I wanted. Weighed myself the morning after we got back and I’d put on half a pound. So feel like I have maintained pretty well.

Well done to everyone for the NSVs and losses. My feet have also shrunk a bit!

I ordered a pen from MedExpress and not sure what I did wrong but ended up with 2.5 mg!! Oh well will be useful for weaning off!

Coventree · 03/09/2025 07:10

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy ah getting myself confused and thought you’d dropped like me to save on the pens - how are you getting on now with the higher dose?

Well done everyone for all the losses and NSVs!!! And good luck for start of term and back to school for all the parents of school kids amongst us (although my secondary school child doesn’t go back until tomorrow, much to his younger sister’s annoyance)

Wednesday weigh-in for me - 1lb lost this week after last week’s phenomenal but random 4lb loss, which makes 47lbs/3st 5lbs in total 🎉. I’m hovering on the edge of dropping into the 11 stones - just 1lb to go so hoping that will happen this week on the scales. 5mg still working well and jab number 20 (😮) due later today.

Seahawk80 · 03/09/2025 12:03

Wednesday weigh in for me too! 11.13 so 2lbs down from my last “official” weigh in 3 weeks ago. I’m very happy with that after my break and a few days being healthy. Hope everyone has a better back to school than me. My poor son was sobbing in the playground and as he’s in year 4 they just expect them to walk in and follow the teacher. He’s being assessed for ADHD but we are stuck in the pre diagnosis gap and it’s hard. I’m going to speak to them about extra emotional support for him. No wonder I never had the energy / willpower to diet before the magic of MJ!

Well done on your loss !!!

My youngest has global development delay (she has a genetic condition) so whilst we do have an EHCP in place it's not an easy path to walk. Life is so different with a child who has SEN. It feels like battle after battle.

She went in okay today (Y3) but I wasn't happy as no-one came down to see her to her class? So she went to a new classroom, with a new teacher, in a new key stage (so lots of new rules) and they just expected her to find her own way. She doesn't have a 1:1 but she is supposed to receive help with things like this, as per her EHCP. So day one and I'm not happy. Thankfully my Y6 child saw the younger one to the classroom and the day went well.

To my DD's credit she was absolutely fine, told me she knew where her new class was and was happy to go off on her own but that isn't the point!

You raise a very interesting point about not having the willpower and energy pre MJ to look after myself properly! Food ended up being a huge crutch / reward / comfort for me and I feel like I am breaking that habit now.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 03/09/2025 22:25

@Seahawk80 Excellent loss well done! I hope your boy settles in, it's heartbreaking to have to send them off on their own when they're struggling

@Crunchymum Well done to your daughter for handling that so well on her own! She shouldn't have had to, I'm glad the day went well for her

@Coventree Excellent loss well done!

Still having lots of food noise and can eat large amounts there's no suppression at all. I have been back on track and staying within calories for the last few days but it's all been willpower, 5mg is doing nothing for me.

wlinewbie0425 · 04/09/2025 07:23

Well done my fellow Wednesday weighers @Seahawk80and @Coventreei didn’t get a chance to pop on yesterday but also had a loss this week after last week’s bank holiday gain - feels a big one at 2.8lb but that’s cos some of it was reversing the bloat gain!

and… I am now less than 1lb off a healthy bmi. Period due next week though so might take a little longer to get to that (arbitrary but somehow amazing) goal after being obese in only April - it still blows my mind!

Sorry you are having a rough time lately @slightlysmallerPoisonIvyit’s so hard to know when to go up and down as there are so many variables. Well done on your willpower though, building great habits is no small thing.

Hope DD has a good day today too @CrunchymumI don’t talk about it under this username but have similar worries and it’s in no small part both my downfall and inspiration on this weight gain and loss journey.

I’ll catch up pre-Wednesday when I can but wanted to get a quick post on before the mayhem of the day takes over!

have a great day everyone!

Seahawk80 · 04/09/2025 07:53

Thanks @Crunchymumand sorry your daughter had to navigate that on her own. It’s just chaos on the first day back but it’s no excuse. Glad she did well. Of course when I picked DS up he was fine and had a good day after I’d been worrying! I’d actually let him skip breakfast club as I was WFH and thought it was a bit harsh for him to do breakfast and after school club on the first day back but actually I probably should have stuck with breakfast club as they are lovely there and would have helped him when upset.
I feel like before MJ I just always was too exhausted to make the effort but having that help to get me started and see results has been life changing.

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvythank you too. How annoying that 5mg doing nothing! I guess it’s good that you are doing well with willpower but that’s not the point. It is interesting how everyone reacts differently.

@wlinewbie0425congrats on the loss and so close to a healthy BMI!

In other news I have decided I am definitely a morning jabber! I did an evening jab on Monday and felt awful and convinced myself I was having a reaction while trying to get to sleep! Whereas in the day I am too busy to notice anything. I think I am quite sensitive to MJ and 5mg after a week off feels a lot.

Hope everyone has a good day and good luck for weigh ins coming up!

toobusytoclean · 04/09/2025 08:14

Busy day yesterday as my year group started (I’m a head of year in a secondary school) so didn’t get on here to share my Wednesday weigh in. Only 1lb lost but my NSVs happened on Tuesday evening. I had asked my 21 year old daughter to help me choose what to wear for school yesterday. I had a number of work dresses that I used to wear that thankfully I hadn’t thrown away even though I hadn’t been able to fit into them for about 3 years.

NSV 1 was the fact that they all were wearable as I have lost so much visceral fat between my boobs and hips 🎉
NSV 2 was even more important though as it was my daughter’s reaction to seeing my body as I was changing between outfits. She could not believe how much it had changed. Her comment was “you’re still fat mum, but all the fat is in the right places”. 🥰. This made my day. I don’t have a partner in my life and full length mirrors are few and far between in my house so whilst I have felt the difference it was so powerful to be told how visible it is as I am mainly wearing the same baggy clothes.
So I may even be brave enough to go clothes shopping at the weekend. 💕

cannyvalley · 04/09/2025 08:58

Morning all.

So I had a moment of madness after medexpress have been super slow at getting my next one to me, and signed up to swift doctor (thanks for whoever recommended, £35 cheaper than my usual one!) .

anyway, I got accepted the same day and it’s out for delivery. And both my my medexpress orders are now accepted and out for delivery as of this morning 🤣🤣🤣🤣

sorry credit card…..

never mind, I’ve now got 2 suppliers that I can access if needed. I’ve never had more than one pen at a time and I feel quite secure knowing I’ve got a few on back up in the fridge.

this means that I’ve got 3 months supply, and I’m wondering if this might take me to my end point. I might get another 2.5 closer to December, to titrate over Christmas…. Don’t want to suddenly get my pre MJ appetite back just when the mince pies and quality streets make an appearance.

feels weird to be at this point. I never thought I’d get here if I’m honest.

I saw a colleague (who works in another building ) yesterday, haven’t seen her since before MJ… she didn’t recognise me at first and said she couldn’t believe how well I looked. She didn’t specifically mention my weight, which I thought was tactful, but I felt great as her comments were really genuine and I felt like I really had drastically changed!

I’ve dropped 3 clothes sized (and if I’m honest, I was bursting the seams of my clothes before MJ and was probably actually a size bigger than I was wearing).

I initially lost quickly but have been plodding at 1-2 lb per week for while now. I’ve stayed at 5ml as this feels manageable side effect wise. Ive lost 2.5 stone, which in the grand scheme probably isn’t loads, but I feel like my body has totally changed!

im a bit sad that I don’t seem to have much of a bum anymore. But I don’t mourn the loss of my boobs, as I prefer to wear shirts and clothes that look better with a smaller chest.

I used to have lots of fat below my waist/bellybutton , which was starting to feel like I was wearing a rubber ring under my clothes… this has gone. I wore a short (ish, not cropped!!!) tshirt yesterday within worrying about what my bottom half looked like. I have a waist and hips. Huzzah!!!!

Here’s hoping for onwards and downwards in the scale department for the next few months.

im so grateful for this community. Thank you all.

Hope everyone has a great day !

Coffeeandallthebooks · 04/09/2025 08:58

2lbs off for me this Thursday morning, half way to goal and ar 12 8 a pound off a BMI under 30, I'm really pleased. It's my birthday next week so if that pound comes off it would be the best gift I could hope for!

Love and solidarity to everyone with children going back, especially those who have struggled- I'm in Scotland and my kids are older so its in the past but I remember how awful it can be.

@Seahawk80 I can't believe the lack of support your DD had. DS is 18 and starting uni, DH took him and DD to the open day and found all his lecture and tutorial rooms so he wasn't struggling to find them on the first day. And he's 18! Your DD did so well to cope with that.
@toobusytoclean that is a great multi-part NSV, and I think you should reward yourwelf with some clothes shopping - you have worked hard and deserve it!

Hawkmoth · 04/09/2025 11:16

Hello all. Checking back in and a bit more positive today. Finally starting to feel better, and losing weight despite my spongy areas. In fact, including the first whoosh week before MJ when I went cold turkey on sugar, today I have hit the 4st mark. I shall celebrate with a tin of Vilgain chicken (look out for it on offer, it's lovely even though it looks like a cat food tin) and some microgreens 🤣🤣
