Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Anyone got any clue how much ‘golden dose’remains in a 5ml pen after the 4 doses are drawn?

I’ve read

‘Each Mounjaro pen contains 3ml of liquid. It's designed to deliver 0.6ml per dose, providing four doses per pen. The pen holds more than 2.4ml of usable liquid to ensure there's enough for priming before each dose’.

so, that means there are technically five standard 0.6 doses per pen right? Barring the odd drop lost to priming of course.

so if I managed to rig my pen and get all of the liquid that’s left after 4 standard doses… would that be the same as a normal dose??

Yes, I think so.
Probably 98% (approx) of a dose.
I've got syringes arriving tomorrow.
So I can get 1 extra dose out of the pens hopefully.

one dose is 0.6ml. There is almost always quite a bit more than that left in the pen - unless you’ve done some serious repeated priming each week.

typically there is around 0.8ml. I’ve done 5th dose from the start and never did the breaking the pen thing as there is then no way of knowing quite how much you took, I highly recommend getting syringes. It’s very straightforward and can measure exactly 0.6ml with spare to prime the syringe.

Thanks @Merlin23 and @wlinewbie0425.

i decided to Jimmy my pen tonight . I’ll be honest… it’s because i forgot to take my next pen out of the fridge and I can’t bear injecting cold MJ 🫣

it was fine, and im pretty sure I must have got around 0.6 as I only really ever prime a little bit. I’m ok if it’s a bit more/less. I’ve stayed at 5ml this whole time so I figure I’ve got a little wriggle room for a one off slightly higher dose.

Today’s non scale victory was not cringing at a photo taken of me last week. And a further huzzah for some jeans I got in a clothes swap a month ago actually fitting me today. I remember trying them on in the accessible toilet of the community venue and getting completely stuck in them because they were so very tight, didn’t do up at all. I kept them as Inspo pants and I’m happy to say they fit like a glove today!!!!!

im up very late getting something finished for work tomorrow, but I’m off to bed now.

goodnight 🙂

Good morning 🌞
Weigh day check-in!

W19 D7
SW 87.65kg
CW 75.15kg
GW 65kg

So that's just 0.4kg off this week... Was kinda hoping it would be more but it's still a decent amount... Think I'm just desperate to break below 75kg as then I'll have less than 10kg left to lose!

I seemed to get along better with my 2.75mg dose this week (less tiredness & nausea) so think I'll stick to that for next week...

I just wanted to say how lovely it is hearing about all the NSVs... They've been coming in thick and fast and are always such a joy to read!

@toobusytoclean that's so lovely you could buy some gorgeous new clothes in a size 14. Hope you enjoy swishing around in them ☺️

@Zebracatnice work on the size 14 trousers!

@Undecided2025hope the comments from workmates have given you a nice boost 😎

@StartingApril2025congrats on the 12 and 14 size jeans 👖😍

I have an NSV that was pretty mind-blowing... I actually got a PB in my 5km run time... Couldn't actually believe it! I knew I was going fast-ish (for me!), but couldn't believe I'd managed to go that fast! I think it's a combination of regular running training, strength training and weight loss... Massively helps having less body weight to cart around!

Anyway, have a great week everyone. Here's hoping I'll break through that 75kg mark next week 🤞🤞🤞

Coventree · 08/09/2025 07:49

Well done everyone, amazing losses and fabulous clothing and fitness NSVs (and a NSD!) on here 🎉🎉🎉. I seem to be in a bit of stuck plateau and you’re all such an inspiration to keep going 👏

bridgetreilly · 08/09/2025 19:14

I was away last week and somehow managed to put 5lb on. Back on track today and keeping going!

GoGoGovy · 09/09/2025 10:48

Back from my holiday and I’m the same weight, which is good because I feel like I’ve eat quite a lot in the last few days.

I haven’t jabbed for 11 days so I’m going to use a lower dose than usual. I feel this is a good time to start titrating down. I want to lose another half stone and hopefully, stop injecting by November. Just ordered a new lower dose pen from Asda and the waiting time is 14 days! Good job I’ve got a spare one in the fridge.

After the horror of seeing my saggy skin in bright sunlight, this months’ targets are Pilates/yoga, daily body brushing and moisturising. If that fails, hold it all in granny knickers…

StartingApril2025 · 09/09/2025 20:37

Hi all, great to hear all the updates! had my official weigh in at the doctors (Private Gp who prescribes ) today and lost 4lbs this month, can’t really complain although it is a slow rate, at least it’s still going down. They held the price for a few weeks so I was able to get another 5mg at current price, the next one will be at the new price (£215- is that standard/ more than other places?) however I was told today that I don’t need to be paying to have a consultation each month, only every 3! Cannot believe I’ve been unnecessarily paying that. So by reducing the consultation price off then the price will work out almost the same for me monthly which is a relief. I am only planning on maybe 1 more 5mg pen after this spacing out doses and then then reduce to 2.5mg and space out the doses coming up to Christmas …I still have 11lbs to lose at least, although a stone or slightly more would be ideal to have a few pounds to allow fluctuate.
thats my plan for now anyway, will see how next few weeks go!

Coventree · 10/09/2025 07:25

Wednesday weigh-in for me…finally dropped into the 11 stones 🎉🎉🎉. Feels a big milestone (although aiming for 10 so still a way to go and my pens run out at Christmas 😬…don’t panic Coventree, it’ll be fine 😬).

I’ve been hovering at 12st / 12st 1lb for two weeks, losing and putting on the same lb, so is a relief to see a bit more movement ❤️. And I should give myself a talking to for moaning about a two week plateau given I’ve now lost 48lbs / 3st 5lbs in total!

Glad the cost’s balancing out due to the consultation reductions @StartingApril2025!

Well done @GoGoGovy - same weight after hols is brilliant 👏…and hold it all in granny knickers are always a winner 😂

Aw @bridgetreilly- hopefully that will all come off quickly 🤞

No panic @coventree
Christmas is a while away. Prices may come down. Might be worth buying a higher dose and using it for smaller doses to wean off.
I think by buying one 10mg has saved me over £300 because of how I'm planning to use it.
Are you using the extra dose. I bought 10 syringes this week from Express chemist for £3:50. First time I'm going to use the extra dose.
Just think how far you've come.
I'm still in shock at losing as much as I have. I don't recognise myself in the mirror! 🤣😳🤔

Seahawk80 · 10/09/2025 11:06

Congrats and welcome to the 11’s club @Coventree! Wednesday weigh in for me too and I’m now firmly in the 11s at 11:10. A 3lb loss which I am over the moon with, especially as on Monday one of the school mums invited me into theirs and forcd me to eat samosas (they were delicious but I was thinking I will never lose weight this week now)!

this is also my first “real” loss since 17 July as over summer I just tried to maintain and went up and down the same few lbs so I’m happy to be back on track!

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvyi also obsess over every side effect. When I did an evening jab I was like I am drowsy, am I passing out? No I was just falling asleep 🤣

Merlin23 · 10/09/2025 11:30

@Seahawk80 I think sometimes we need a treat and the body responds.

I'm meeting friends for lunch and I've persuaded them to meet at a tearoom not the pub. Hopefully I can eat something more healthy!

Coventree · 10/09/2025 14:49

Well done @Seahawk80 👏👏👏. Dropping into/cementing your place in any new stone bracket feels like such an amazing achievement 🌟

@Merlin23 hope you found something tasty for lunch! Yes, I’m using the golden dose (now confirmed that won’t be a thing going forwards in the kwikpens 😢) and have 2 unopened 7.5mg pens plus my current open pen which I am taking 5mg doses from (started when the news broke). That should see me through…I may try dropping below 5mg in Nov to titrate down further and eek them out into Jan a little. But all that’s working on the assumption I continue to lose weight and the worry is that I stall…but I’ll have to make some decisions in Nov/Dec if that’s the case.

Merlin23 · 10/09/2025 19:11

NSV
I saw a jacket I loved in M&S, tried it on back in April in a size 20 and it fitted nice. Decided it was too expensive. Saw it was in the sale at the weekend but in the store only had one in a size 22. Went home looked online, only size available was a 12.
Ordered it, picked it up today and it fits really well. A 12 how is that possible. Half price and almost half the size!

Coventree · 10/09/2025 19:41

🎉🎉🎉 @Merlin23 ❤️❤️❤️

Coffeeandallthebooks · 10/09/2025 21:03

amazing loss @wendywoopywoo222it’s so much fun shopping your own old wardrobe for things that fit again!

40lbs is fantastic @slightlysmallerPoisonIvyim glad you didn’t rage quit but understand needing to consider pros and cons - we focus a lot on the positives on here for support but it’s worth highlighting it’s not all plain sailing or at all easy tor everyone.
@PumpKim& @GoGoGovystaying the same over a holiday is just mad isn’t it? The old all of us would have put on 10lbs! 👏

Hurrah for nice photos and jeans @cannyvalleyafter you conquered your first dodgy extra dose! Well done.

amazing getting your new PB @PeachSnail exercise could still be a lot better for me - that’s really impressive.

@StartingApril2025that’s still a pound a week which is supposed to be the perfect rate to keep it off 👏

and finally wow @Merlin23 on your new size 12 jacket!! From a 20 in April 😮!! Must feel so good.

I need to come on here more often this is a ridiculous post but I get so happy and motivated reading all the updates. Also sorry anyone I missed as I lost track trying to read and write this!

Ahem, thank you @wlinewbie0425 for all your lovely words, but aren’t you forgetting something rather ‘you’ shaped, my fellow Wednesday weigh-in buddy?

wlinewbie0425 · 10/09/2025 21:40

today was a milestone for me when I didn’t expect it as we had visitors at the weekend so felt bloated up for a couple of days with extra carbs and wine.

But on today’s Wednesday weigh in my scales finally told me I was a healthy weight. BMI just under 25. I actually can’t quite believe it even though I knew I was creeping towards it these last few weeks. I was bmi 32 in only April. I know I’ve had relatively little to lose compared to some people’s journeys but the difference in how I feel and what I can do (and yes in how I look) is huge. Despite everything this stuff is changing many of our lives, mainly for the better.

💪👏👏👏
We are all on different journeys and your achievement is incredible. Well done!

I've gone from BMI 36.9 to 27.6 I haven't had a healthy BMI in adulthood, not too far to go now!

We have all made a life changing decision from different starts. This forum is great as we all support each other and no-one judges.
Keep going everyone.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 10/09/2025 22:23

some great losses and NSVs well done everyone!

@wlinewbie0425 Huge congrats on reaching a healthy weight!!

After delaying my jab and letting my levels reduce a bit I'm seeing a reduction in food noise and cravings and getting some satiety back so I think lower doses do work better for me. Hormones might have been messing with things a bit too as I finally started my period (on day 52!) but for now I'm going to stick to the lower dose. I'm v happy to have mounjaro working again but also a bit anxious about what happens after stopping when I finish my pens.
