Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

@AbundanceofKatherines Congrats!!!!

@Coffeeandallthebooks @Crunchymum Great losses!!

@Coventree @cannyvalley Thank you 😘 The insatiable hunger has been a bit less today and I've managed to stay on track. Tomorrow is jab day and I have all my fingers and toes crossed that I'll get some suppression back and turn down the volume on the food noise.

bridgetreilly · 30/08/2025 01:14

Well, I have seen my nurse practitioner, and the good news is that I can reduce my other meds. But, because MJ has worked so well to control my diabetes, she can’t increase the dose just because the weight loss has slowed. So, I will be on 5mg for the foreseeable future.

BeachBodyAim · 30/08/2025 08:55

SW 17.7
CW 14.7
WK 18 loss 2lb
total loss 3 stone

Absolutely buzzing - hit the 3 stone!!!
Never did I dream at the end of April I’d be here at the end of August - quite simply the BEST thing I’ve ever done for myself!!!
I had a reply yesterday from Medexpress- I’ve had to answer some questions and send a pic in of my last prescription so fingers crossed I get clinically approved in the next few days!!!
Well done everyone on your losses and NSV’s!!!
Have a fab week!!!

StartingApril2025 · 30/08/2025 09:05

Hi everyone just checking in, good to hear your updates! I just have no idea what to do about the cost at the moment, my appointment with the private Gp isn’t until the 7th and they haven’t communicated the price change so I’m in the dark. I have lost 1lb this week, been slow these last 7 weeks of max 1 lb a week. Which is fine but also frustrating when I may not be able to afford more than 1 more pen and I still have a stone to go ideally! I delayed my injection from Friday to Sunday last week so I may delay it again another day this week as suppression still high.
need to up the water this week as have been slacking a bit, I’m not strict calorie counting daily but think I will start to get me into the way of it for when I come off.
hope everyone has a great weekend, we have a birthday in the house so nice meal out planned but not stressing on the food as plenty of choices where we are going.!

Merlin23 · 30/08/2025 09:10

Congrats everyone on all the positive news
SW 14st 6lb 202lbs
CW 11st 1lb 155lbs
GW 10st or as near as I can get with the mj I have left
Dress size from 20/22 - 14/16

After no loss last week 4lbs this week so still averaging 2lbs a week
I expect to slow down now as my body always fights back at this weight area.
Going to buy some tshirts for work as my work polo shirt is like a dress and my boss said I can wear my own plain black tshirt while I wait for a new smaller polo.

Good morning . 89.1kilos this morning, so a loss of .7 kilos, I’m really pleased with that as I have been a bit becalmed lately. My next dose on Thursday will be the first at 10 mg. I’m going to really work it because I don’t know how much more I can afford. I’m hoping that I can lose 5 kilos with that pen, which will drop my bmi below 30, and then use the next 10mg pen to get into the 70s. Then I think I’ll have to start moving back down the doses, because of the finances. A normal bmi would be below 71, but I think I’d be happy just to weigh less than Dh who is 79 kilos, and then take a slightly less than maintenance approach. I keep getting told to start weights, so that’s my plan for this month .

My husband has been 10 stone 7lbs everyday we've been together for 27 years. I'm hoping to go below him too. Funny the goals we have in our head

cannyvalley · 30/08/2025 12:32

happy weekend everyone !

I’ve lost 2lb this week, and have (for the first time) worked out my loss in pounds.

34 lb lost since first dose. I’m pretty chuffed with this actually.

This week I bought a tshirt that is 3 sizes smaller than the same tshirt in the same shop that I was wearing in April. I can’t quite believe that. I tried it on in 2 sizes smaller, and felt it was still too loose.. so then tried it in the 3x smaller size, thinking no way will this fit. And it did! I’ve laid out the 2 T-shirts and can’t believe the size difference.

I haven’t worn an item of clothing in this size in years, and it’s just a tshirt but I actually feel amazing in it.

Im going to do another wardrobe cleanse this weekend, as I think my brain is starting to catch up to my current weight, after weeks of still wearing things that are now way too big. It’s a weird thing, feeling like I’m still bigger then realising smaller things are now fitting .

wishing everyone a happy and healthy weekend. I’m off to a BBQ later and hope to enjoy many salads….

Enjoy salads that's something I will never say 😆
Well done on the weight loss and the smaller t-shirt.
It's so strange how our brain takes ages to catch up. I've just bought a size 12 t-shirt I haven't worn a size 12 since I was a 12 and that was a long long time ago!

Scousebloke · 30/08/2025 17:31

Hi all. Been missing in action with regards to this thread for the last week. Congrats to everyone who has had success in that time be it scales or not. Ive stayed the same this week keeping me at 37lb loss in total.
For those who remember my struggles with my gp practice possibly "deprescribing" my mounjaro, i put in a repeat prescription request last weekend via an app. When i do this a prescription is usually approved early monday. Got to Wednesday and the status was still pending so i was expecting it to be rejected. Checked Thursday and it was approved and i picked it up from the pharmacy yday. All very odd as i have not been told anything about the "consultation" from the clinical pharmacist recommending taking me off. In fact ive never had a face to face with anyone regarding mounjaro. Not with a gp, pharmacist or diabetic nurse. I just had a couple of phone consultations back in late March when i asked to go on the jab.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 30/08/2025 18:21

@Scousebloke that's good news! Hopefully they will just keep prescribing it.
I think they often don't have time to do all the reviews they should so just sign off repeat prescriptions.

@cannyvalley It's my birthday in a week so have been looking at clothes, and couldn't get over the difference. I was a 22 in January, 20 in May when we started. I put on a 16 jacket, zipped it up, it fits fine. I've lost half a shoe size too.

@Merlin23 12 is my goal size, well done for getting there, I'm the same as you and have never been that size as an adult

wlinewbie0425 · 30/08/2025 18:58

Great news @Scousebloke in your shoes I would just keep ordering the repeats on schedule and hope that the system hasn’t been joined up enough to put a block on it. Then if an issue occurs, fight it at that point. Brillant loss too and snap! I’m at exactly 37lb since our thread began too!

well done too @cannyvalley(ricoletti) love the tshirt NSV.

also well done@Zebracat @Merlin23 @StartingApril2025 @Coffeeandallthebooks@Crunchymumand @BeachBodyAim amazing updates so happy for everyone on this thread and how far we have all come in only 4 months??? It feels like so much longer!

@AbundanceofKatherines absolutely amazing to hear you’ve reached healthy BMi - what a milestone!

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 30/08/2025 23:20

@BeachBodyAim Congrats! 3st is amazing!!

Great losses @StartingApril2025 @Merlin23 @Zebracat @cannyvalley

@cannyvalley Excellent NSV! It's not just a tshirt, it is tangible proof of your loss. The scale and the mirrors and the photos often lie but seeing those tshirts side by side is proof that you are shrinking! And if it makes you feel amazing then it is much more than just a tshirt!

@Scousebloke Yay! happy to hear you got your next pen approved!

I did dose 18 this morning. I didn't weigh in because I haven't pooped (sorry tmi!) Still have zero suppression and zero satiety and zero willpower and all the noise and all the cravings and all the hunger 😩😭

I think I understand now why people chase total suppression. Up to now I was happy with just some suppression and still using some willpower, I figured it would be easier to adjust to not having mj if I was still exercising my willpower muscles and not relying completely on mounjaro. But screw that, I miss it and want it back and I want total 100% suppression and food aversion!

Coventree · 31/08/2025 09:26

Morning all! Loving all the scale victories and the amazing representations in every day life of how much transformation we’ve all undergone 💪.

Sorry to hear dropping down still hasn’t gone so great for you @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy 😢.

Shame the nurse doesn’t think increasing is worth a try but how fab that the MJ has worked such wonders for your diabetes @bridgetreilly 🎉. And glad the prescription hasn’t been taken off you @Scousebloke.

Has anyone else found the distribution of the weight loss a bit uneven?! I know this is typical of all weight loss not just MJ-related, but it seems particularly noticeable (to me) at the moment. I’m currently in size 14s and buying stuff from Vinted to see me through the transition, and some of the tops are already looking a bit baggy so starting to buy a few size 12s. But around the waist…I’ve bought several pairs of different brands of jeans in 14s that don’t even meet to attempt to do up! Thank god for elasticated waists, but denim is a whole different matter. C’mon belly, just let go of all that stubborn fat and catch up with the plan!

Scousebloke · 31/08/2025 09:32

Thankyou @Coffeeandallthebooks @wlinewbie0425 @Coventree @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy

Merlin23 · 31/08/2025 10:12

NSV for everyone
My husband said he is now fitting back into some trousers that had become too tight. He always weighs the same but sometimes he has that middle life spread.
He said as we're not buying in the snacks and baking cakes he feels the difference too!

Merlin23 · 31/08/2025 10:15

@Coffeeandallthebooks
I'm not quite a size 12 yet, it's one top. But it's one more than before 😆
I would ideally like to be a size 12/14
Pear shape so always 2 sizes.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 31/08/2025 11:29

I'm a pear shape too, @Merlin23, so tighter things like jeans are still uncomfortable at a 16. Even one top at a 12 is the stuff of dreams, well done!
My sister had a similar NSV to your DH, she has been cutting down on sugar and snacks as she was diagnosed with high BP.
She put on a summer skirt, fastened it up and it dropped off in a puddle on the floor! Quite glad it happened to her before she left the house 🤣

That is a very special t-shirt! Great job.

cannyvalley · 31/08/2025 11:50

Thanks for all the lovely replies about my magic teshirt , I’ve washed and dried it this morning because I just want to keep wearing it 🤣🤣🤣

@Scousebloke I’m so glad to hear you have got your prescription, I was worrying about you after such terrible news from your provider.

Happy Sunday everyone x

Merlin23 · 31/08/2025 13:51

@cannyvalley I get that about the t-shirt. It feels so good wash and wear, wash and wear repeat until this one is too big. 🤣
I just bought a new zippy hoodie for work the same make as my other one. The one I had was an xxl and I could only just do it up when I bought it in March The new one is a medium and fits nicely.
Loving all these NSVs that make us all feel good!

This weeks weigh-in was a surprise, I was expecting a gain so I'm happy with a 0.3lbs loss. Tomorrow is 1st of the month which means progress photos and measurements. I don't think there'll be any difference, I've only lost 4lbs for the whole month but fingers crossed I'll be proved wrong again!

@Coventree I didn't drop down, I increased to 5mg. I very much regret that decision and will be going back down to 3.75mg next week. I wish I hadn't done a second 5mg dose yesterday.

violetmondays · 31/08/2025 21:29

Happy Sunday! Loving catching up with everyone’s NSVs and losses, including amazing smaller T-shirts and zippy hoodies.

I weighed this morning and I lost 3lb since last week which I’m really happy about (probably included a bit of post holiday water retention).

I went shopping today as I got a small bonus from work and decided to treat myself to new jeans as all my old ones are now hanging off me. Went into Zara and tried on 5 pairs of jeans in a size 10 and 4 of them fit me!! So I bought all 4 but mainly only to try on at home and will take 2 pairs back. It’s been a lot of years since I fit into a size 10 and this has probably been the biggest win for me so far. I’ve got 9lb to go until target weight.

@Coventree yes I have found the distribution uneven and certainly different to what I used to be like. Most of weight seems to have come off legs, bum and hips and tummy/waist and boobs seem to be hanging onto it for dear life. Definitely still a size 12 on top! Hopefully the next 9lb will be mainly off my stomach although to be fair it has gone down a lot if I think back to before.

I can’t believe an elephants penis weighs 60lb!!!!!

PeachSnail · 01/09/2025 07:33

Morning all 🌄

Weigh-in day for me

W19 D7
SW 87.65kg
CW 75.5kg
TW 65kg

So... It's pretty much a maintain this week (only lost 0.05kg!!)

There's probably a few things going on: MIL bought me two bars of posh choccy for my birthday and I just wanted to get rid of them to stop them bothering me (so I ate them!); plus I was experiencing quite a bit of nausea on this week's dose of 3mg, which, bizarrely was only cured by actually eating; plus I wonder if I may have got down to another of my body's "set points"? I managed to diet and get down to this weight about 6 years ago (before putting it all on again during the pandemic) so it's possible my body might want to stall at this weight for a bit... Ah well, so be it. Fingers crossed for next week.

I do have a nice NSV though... I managed to run my 3rd fastest 5k yesterday (according to Strava) so I'm definitely getting fitter and stronger and it feels really good!

@violetmondays wow - size 10 jeans! That's amazing! That's when weight loss feels really real IMHO. Enjoy your new purchases 👖😍

Well done for the losses @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy@cannyvalley@Zebracat@Merlin23@StartingApril2025@BeachBodyAim

I'm going to do a lower dose jab tomorrow as I think 3mg was just too much tiredness and nausea... Possibly 2.75mg... I'm constantly doing a very finely balanced dance between a dose which is effective vs. too strong and it's sometimes very tricky to judge as the levels build in your system from week to week... I still think I'm pretty sensitive to mounjaro as I feel a wave of mild nausea almost immediately after jabbing. Does anyone else get this?
