Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

well done @StartingApril2025 @BeachBodyAim @Merlin23 @Scousebloke @GoGoGovy @SassyLimeHelper

hope you both feel better @cannyvalley

@StartingApril2025 maybe try lowering the dose back down to 2.5 or 3.75 if the 5mg is not agreeing with you?

@AbundanceofKatherines that is a fabulous nsv!

@dozywelshbird 45clicks from a 7.5pen would be 5.63mg. 40clicks would be 5mg.

Weigh in day for me, I lost 1.2lbs this week. I did my 17th jab and my first dose of 5mg.

It was my birthday yesterday and for the first time in at least 10 years I didn’t have a “what don’t I feel fat in” trying on dresses session before going out for dinner. That soul destroying 30 minutes that leaves you feeling low and would often result in me hating myself and not wanting to go out for dinner or having to go out to dinner unable to breathe due to shapewear.
Well, yesterday evening I put on the first dress I wanted to wear and felt good about myself. I took a selfie and shared it with close friends and family and felt confident Those feelings remained with me all evening. What a life changing difference this MJ journey has made. 💕

dozywelshbird · 24/08/2025 07:54

That's an amazing NSV @toobusytoclean 😁 and happy birthday for yesterday 🥳

I just jumped on scales post holiday before I jabbed and I've lost 2lb, can't believe it, although we did do an awful lot of walking. So still very much slower than others who are nearly at the 3 stone mark, but 25lbs in total I'm happy with.

Merlin23 · 24/08/2025 08:06

Well done everyone on your losses and nsv.
One nsv I'm looking forward to today is going to the football and not squeezing awkwardly through the turnstiles.

GoGoGovy · 24/08/2025 08:29

Happy birthday @toobusytoclean 🎉💐 and what a positive story. What an amazing journey we have been on. Loving the nsv’s as much as the weight loss updates.

violetmondays · 24/08/2025 09:12

I didn’t log on yesterday and what a load of lovely losses and NSVs to come back to! Hope you had a fab birthday @toobusytoclean and amazing to feel comfortable and confident going out - I always used to think ‘what don’t I look fat in’ as well when getting ready to go out and it would always ruin my mood so I know exactly how you feel 🥰

@AbundanceofKatherines fabulous NSV!!

Well done on all the losses - there have been a lot this week and it’s amazing how a lot of us have maintained or lost whilst on holiday 🙌🏻

I’ve noticed I get awful headaches, and like some others I’ve had low mood and extreme tiredness each week on days 2/3 after the jab. I managed to get rid of yesterday’s headache with paracetamol and electrolytes but it’s getting me down a bit - my hope is by October-ish I’ll be in a position to start tapering down and go into a more maintenance phase. I also enjoyed the week break whilst on holiday as I didn’t get any headaches at all. It’s made me realise that I could have breaks in future and I might use them to extend the MJ a bit when I’m trying to maintain for a bit.

Coventree · 24/08/2025 09:31

What fabulous NSVs and losses to wake up to everyone 👏👏👏 @SassyLimeHelper@AbundanceofKatherines@Merlin23@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy@dozywelshbird and everyone giving helpful advice and motivation to each other! Love our support network ❤️. And a special happy birthday for yesterday @toobusytoclean 🎉🎂🎁

Edit: my name tagging’s gone a bit random and now I can separate you all!

Coventree · 24/08/2025 09:36

Can’t!!! Ffs, I give up 😁

PumpKim · 24/08/2025 10:03

Official weigh day today, only 0.6lb this week, but it's been period week so my fluctuations have been insane, pushing the average up. My actual weight today is 2lb lower than the weeks average!

I go on holiday on Wednesday for 10 days. I jab on Wednesday's so thought about doing it Tuesday before I go but I sometimes get a dicky tummy the next day and don't want to risk that on the plane, I'm just going to take my pen with me and jab as normal.

Not too worried about weight gain while away, I feel fine about making good choices but still enjoying myself. Normally I plan my day around the next meal so I'll have to find something else to obsess about🤣

Small NSV. I bought a new belt in size L instead of XL as I'd got to the last hole, and my jeans are falling down 😁

Aww - hard relate to this!

Previously, most days out/nights out would be preceded with a depressing episode in front of the mirror trying to work out what I'd look least fat in... I'd end up feeling really down on myself before going out, which isn't the best mindset before a social event!

I'm also finally regaining a bit of confidence... And I'm hoping that will only increase over the weeks! 🤞

So happy to hear that you felt good about yourself and that you were able to really enjoy your birthday 🥰

wlinewbie0425 · 24/08/2025 17:56

Been away this weekend and lovely to come back on the thread for a catch up and see so many new losses and brilliant NSVs, especially the ones about being happier seeing yourselves in mirrors/selfies/ring cameras. It’s all these little things on top of the massive impact on health that shows just how impactful this is for all of us. Well done everyone! and belated happy birthday @toobusytoclean

.
@violetmondaysi was feeling a bit low (not terrible but just ‘meh’ like a lack of ups and downs) for a while taking this and read various recommendations for L-tyrosine supplements (it converts to dopamine). I’ve started taking that and think I am feeling overall a bit brighter - been off work through so will need to see if that continues once I’m back into my usual routine.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend - I’ve eaten out quite a bit, and less healthy food than usual, but the portions have been sensible (MJ won’t let me do otherwise) so I’m not very worried about weigh in, even if it’s up a little that’s ok.

Hi all,

me and the boy have been rerouted, so our 3 hour nip back to the UK has turned into us being stranded in Charles Du Gaulle airport for 10+ hours 😐😐😐

upshot is I’ve eaten a burger king and a McDonald’s so far. I’m dreading the scales reflecting all the salt I’ve likely eaten so far ….

im sure it’s lovely outside of the airport… but I can’t say I particularly J’adore Paris at this point….

cannyvalley · 24/08/2025 18:17

I have however thoroughly enjoyed all the fabulous updates of success from you all 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

wlinewbie0425 · 24/08/2025 18:27

Oh no @cannyvalleyyou really have experienced the extreme highs and lows of food quality this week 😭 hope you get back tonight eventually.

Go and walk round and round the airport. Get your steps in and buy some water.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 24/08/2025 18:35

@toobusytoclean that's awesome! and belated Happy Birthday!

Great loss @dozywelshbird 2lbs down on holiday is impressive, well done!

@PumpKim Loose jeans and new smaller belt are big NSVs well done!

@Merlin23 turnstiles are evil!

@cannyvalley Oh no, hope you get home soon! I bet mcdonalds and burger king taste a bit rubbish after all the delicious food on your foodie holiday!

If anyone else is trying to increase their strength training to avoid muscle loss... I've started using the Hevy app to keep track of reps and weights and am finding it very motivating to keep track of progress (as long as I don't look at the crazy high weights other people are lifting!) At the end of the workout it adds up the total weight lifted on all the reps and sets and exercises which makes my little dumbells look a bit heavier 😂
In other tmi news my period is ten days late and it's making me cranky and hungry, I don't know if it's weight loss or mounjaro or peri messing with my cycle but it's very annoying.

Hi all, we are home! Finally got back late last night. What a time we had on the last leg of our trip!!!

I didn’t jab yesterday as was so tired I just fell into bed, so will do that today (a day late).

I couldn’t resist the scales this morning. 2lb gain… not bad for a week of eating delicious food and drinking wine. I’m going to eat very well this week and see if I can shift the gain. I am hoping that it’s mainly water retention, as though I did eat and drink more than usual, I also did a heck load of walking and my portions weren’t out of control. also the food poisoning at the end was rather “cleansing” 🤣
.. I cant remember who it was on here that decided ‘Plane gain’ was a thing, but I’m hoping this is what I have!

PeachSnail · 25/08/2025 10:16

Morning 👋

Happy bank holiday Monday. Looks like it's going to be a sunny one! 😎

Weigh-in day for me...

W18 D7

SW 87.65kg
CW 75.55kg
GW 65kg

Total loss: 12.10kg (1.9 stone)

Somehow I managed to lose 1.3kg (2.8lbs) last week, despite not being very strict with what I ate and drank... Was honestly expecting to have maintained or gained this week!

Shotsy now tells me I'm 53.3% of the way to my goal weight, which is great news as I feel like I've been hovering around the halfway mark for a while.

So I just need to lose another 10.55kg (approx 1 and a half stone) to reach my goal.

But it will be really strange as I won't have weighed lower than this since my late 20s / early 30s (I'm mid 40s now)... It will take some getting used to... but in a good way rather than a bad way!

Overall, I've probably been losing a bit slower than most others, but I'm ok with that as long as I'm feeling healthy and there's progress in the right direction ☺️💪

cannyvalley · 25/08/2025 10:17

On another note. I saw elsewhere on MN some talk of the MJ quickpens changing design to mean there isnt a ‘golden dose’ left in them after the 4 doses are used. I don’t know how accurate this is but wondering if anyone here has seen talk of this? I don’t do the golden dose but I know some of us here do use it and may have been considering it in their plan to continue MJ at the higher cost.

BudgieMom · 25/08/2025 10:19

Hi everyone well done on all the losses and Nsvs! I weighed in this morning it's 4.5lbs off taking me to 2st6 off with mounjaro! I've lost 4st 8 in total from doing slimming world before the MJ. Still sticking to the 5mg seems to be still working for now hopefully I have enough pens to get me to goal the new prices are a no go for me! Hope everyone had a great week 😊

So pleased you're home and had a great time!
2lbs is not too bad.
That will come straight off!
Im sure you had some great bonding time with your son too.
I really miss my youngest son he left to go back to university on Saturday. He's now back in the USA.

Gosh - just took a look at the thread relating to this. I've been doing the golden doses from each pen and it does help to make pens more affordable... It's not surprising that Eli Lilley are switched onto how this practice is denting their profits. It makes sense they're implementing measures to prevent it... But it's more bad news regarding affordability for new starters 😩

bridgetreilly · 25/08/2025 12:51

Well, I took three bin liners full of clothes to the recycling at the weekend, which was very satisfying. There are some things still just about wearable, but on the big side that I’ve kept just so that I haven’t got to replace them quite yet. I’m enjoying wearing things that have been in the ‘hopeful’ section of the wardrobe, some of them for years.

And this morning, I slid under 16 stone for the first time in years.

Sheldon4k · 25/08/2025 15:34

I have just realised that I actually dont know what losses everyone is up to now and although I know the weight I am now I dont instinctively (without working out) know what loss that is. Yet I remember reading all of the stories about clothes that are too big, feeling more comfortable on holidays, people starting to notice others weight loss etc and I think I finally have moved my mentality away from the number on the scales.
I have looked through my holiday pics and realise that I am wearing clothes that are far too big for me now and instead of hanging on to them I am going to order a couple more summer outfits for now and my week away in october and actually get rid of these big and baggy items I seem to have been clinging to.
Onwards and upwards to these good feelings and here's to many more NSVs.
Hope u are all enjoying your bank holiday Monday!
