Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

I do @Merlin23 got more energy to run after my 9yr old! Shes autistic so need all the energy I can get 😆

I completely understand, I work in a nursery and I am running after 18 month to 3 year olds.

Hawkmoth · 17/11/2025 13:46

Bad - spent Saturday night in ED (existing condition flare, I'm not any worse)
Good - no medical person told me to 'try losing weight' 😁🤦 It really is eye opening being treated like a normal person rather than a fat-led problem.

Anyway, I'm with everyone just ticking down slowly. Gained and lost a kilo for totm but overall I've now lost 35kg from starting. That's a good number... An adult Emperor Penguin 🐧

@wlinewbie0425- I’m so sorry 😔 I have reported my post.

Not at all I know it was with best intentions and kindness I am just wary of keeping our thread safe from deletion ❤️ I get the impulse completely x

Hope you're feeling better.
The way tgat people who are overweight or obese is treated is really eye opening once out lose the weight.
Doctors don't mention weight when you go to see them with the same ailments as before.
Shop assistants take you seriously about buying their products.
I didnt realise how widespread the discrimination was

Hawkmoth · 17/11/2025 16:13

I've read a few articles about how depressing people find it once they are treated like normal members of society. It really is awful.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 18/11/2025 22:20

Well done @PeachSnail @BudgieMom great losses!

@Hawkmoth @Merlin23 completely agree, the difference in how people treat us when we've lost weight is quite astounding

Coventree · 19/11/2025 07:27

Morning all, well done on this week’s recent losses @BudgieMom, @PeachSnail@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy(nice and steady is great!), @PumpKim, @BeachBodyAimand everyone else! 1lb on for me this week, but I don’t mind after such a big drop (7lbs in the two weeks previously).

Have a great rest of the week as we get over Hump Day and head to the weekend!

Zebracat · 19/11/2025 09:11

I have a pen. So relieved. Last week was shit. I felt so ill, couldn’t do anything, put on kilos. This week s better. I syringed out the last bit of my old pen, not at all sure it would work, but it did, so that was good.. I have a friend staying so may eat and drink a little more than usual. But Iwill start my new pen at the weekend and I feel proper motivated. Thanks all for your kindness. It really helped.

Crunchymum · 20/11/2025 11:47

Hello all,

Weigh-in for me tomorrow.

Congratulations on the losses, NSV's and procurement of pens.

Now I know it is cold, but is anyone else bone achingly cold all the time? I just cannot seem to warm up and stay warm? I'm working in fingerless gloves 😩 (and warm clothing and have a space heater!)

I know I'm a little bit anemic as I have blood tests every 12 weeks. My bloods have been similar for 7 years - either my red blood count or haemoglobin are slightly low (but never both at the same time which would warrant a prescription for iron tablets) so I'm always told to manage it with diet. I see my consultant again in January so I'll ask her!!

However this blood thing long predates the coldness.

I suppose I should just be thankful I'm not having peri menopausal hot flushes?? 😕

Coffeeandallthebooks · 20/11/2025 12:20

So glad you got your pen Zebracat.
Well done everyone on your losses, I am stuck on a pound a week at the moment. Although it was 2 pounds this week before I had takeaway to celebrate Scotland getting into the World Cup, so a pound is attributed to happy weight!

@Crunchymum I too am very cold, and also get hot flushes which require me to throw my clothes on and off faster than a stripper in a hurry. I wear fluffy socks, slippers and often fingerless gloves in the house. I don't know what the answer is, I have an electric blanket but last week I had that, socks and slippers and my feet were numb with cold. Soon I'll be like my mum who keeps her thermostat at 24 degrees!

Hi all, I’ve just started my mounjaro journey and I’ve jumped on your board as you’ve all been here for a while so might be able to help me 😊 Usually the few days before my period, I tend to eat a lot more, do you find you still want to eat more even when on mounjaro or does that go as well?

AbundanceofKatherines · 20/11/2025 16:53

Hi Flossyknicks. I didn’t want to ignore your post but I’m afraid I have no answer for you as I’m in my 60s so periods are a thing of the distant past 😆

Good luck in your MJ journey - it’s wonderful stuff!

x

Merlin23 · 20/11/2025 16:57

@Flossyknicks
Welcome to your mounjaro journey. I am perimenopausal but I haven't found I have eaten any more around my periods. I used to get the munchies.
Good luck!

wendywoopywoo222 · 20/11/2025 19:55

Also past the menopause so don’t know about pre period hunger. Well done everyone on securing pens and losses.

I’m finally in the 16 stone bracket after what seems like weeks hovering just above 17. Was prob only two weeks but I have little patience.

I’ve started doing Clubbersize. Leaping about badly in the dark with loud music and glow sticks. Think I’ve finally found an exercise class I love. Would highly recommend it.

Coventree · 20/11/2025 20:22

Sounds fab @wendywoopywoo222 and I have great visions of you having the time of your life on the dance floor (okay, gym floor) 😁

No change here around periods @Flossyknicks and good luck with your MJ journey!

I’m freezing too @Coffeeandallthebooks and @Crunchymum! I was sat with three blankets wrapped around various bits of me today. Was annoying when I had a Teams call and had to shrug two of them off to look vaguely professional 🥶

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 20/11/2025 22:58

Hi @Flossyknicks I also had the increased hunger before periods thing and it's been completely removed by mounjaro however I choose to still eat higher calories for a few days before I'm due to start and for the first couple of days because I suffer with heavy periods and low iron so was feeling a bit light headed on the lower calories on those days. Our bodies know what we need and do try to tell us but it took me a minute (30years lol) to figure out that what I actually needed was higher calories and protein and not a mountain of chocolate.
While we're on the subject, I've also had a lot of disruption to my cycle while losing weight, periods arriving very early or very late, it's not caused by the medication itself but the weight loss affecting oestrogen levels, not everyone is affected but many are, so just another thing to be aware of.
Good luck on your MJ journey!

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 20/11/2025 23:03

@Zebracat yay glad to hear you got a pen!

@Crunchymum I'm freeeeeeezing, my thermostat is set higher this year and I'm under the heated blanket at every opportunity

@wendywoopywoo222 clubbersize sounds fun, well done on reaching the 16s!

AbundanceofKatherines · 21/11/2025 11:05

Morning team.

Friday weigh in for me and I’m delighted to report a 1.8lb loss, taking me into the 8s - where I’d like to stay for the rest of my life please 🙏🏼

SW 12st 7.5
CW 8st 13.0
GW 8st 10

29% of me gone

NSVs - Kicking ass in the gym, running 10km with ease and enjoying it again, yoga poses I’d thought were gone for good are back to not far off their best.

I will be taking the final dose of my last 5mg pen today, then we’re away for 10 days and I won’t be taking any MJ paraphernalia. I’m hoping this will be fine as I don’t get more hunger on days 6/7.

I still have 2 x 2.5mg pens - intend using one to taper, and retain the other as a safety net. Although if I feel okay on day 10 I might try going cold turkey.

Well done on all the losses and NSVs. Wrap up warm and keep strong 💪

(My god my face is wrinkly 😱 but I’ve heard positive stories of a rebound after some months. Whatever though, the positives far outweigh a bit of vanity. I’m just avoiding mirrors)

Crunchymum · 21/11/2025 11:10

Weigh-in day (week 30) and I'm -1lb this week.

That's a loss each and every week for me. Albeit a few losses have been 0.5lbs.

CW: 135lbs
GW: 126lbs
Total lost: 52.5lbs (which is averaging at 1.7lbs per week)

I'm finally accepting that no matter how much I lose I'm always going to have a tummy (3 DC and many years of being several stone overweight)

The main difference I have noticed is that I can get dressed now without having to try on loads of different outfits to see what hides how fat I am the best. I'm not dressing particularly fancy and I haven't invested in much new (its Palazzo trousers, trainers and woolley jumpers for me mainly) I had a load of size 12 stuff I'd stored and it all fits and looks relatively okay / not too unfashionable.

Although I'm in fleece lined leggings and jumper today!!

I think I'll be hitting Vinted in the spring though. When they sort out their sizing.

Happy weekend to everyone.

Merlin23 · 21/11/2025 13:37

Friday weigh in
2lbs off this week
SW 202lbs14st 6lbs
CW 134lbs 9st 8lbs
68lbs total loss

My aim was to get 40-50lbs off
So I'm in shock that I'm not far off 70lbs.
I love reading everyone's weight loss journeys. We got this.
@wendywoopywoo222

I'm pleased you've found an exercise that works. I have no coordination.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! Wrap up warm as those bones aren't as insulated anymore! 🤣

Seahawk80 · 21/11/2025 17:15

Hi all, bit late for my Wednesday weigh in post but I’m 1lb down which I’m happy with after my gain. Finally in the 10s albeit 10st13 but still there! Well done for all the losses. @wendywoopywoo222clubbersise sounds brilliant!

what are everyone’s thoughts about Christmas? I was hoping to be down to 10 1/2 stone by then but it’s mine and DH birthday plus work party etc and I want to enjoy myself. I’m thinking a goal of down to at least 10 1/2 stone by end of January, hopefully a bit less and then have a huge effort Jan / Feb to hopefully get to goal weight by end of April (around 9st) which would make it a year total on MJ.

If anyone sees a particularly good deal on a 7.5 for Black Friday let me know as think I’ll need a couple more pens.

@Flossyknicksgood luck! I used to eat a ton of chocolate right before my period, now I still feel bloated and rubbish but don’t need all the sugar so it is definitely better.

dozywelshbird · 21/11/2025 17:44

@Seahawk80 I was just coming on to say I just got a 7.5mg pen from Bolt Pharmacy for £164, had to complete questionnaire, add photos and proof of last prescription but then all approved.

Well done to all on your losses, I STS this week, period from hell arrived so pretty much knew no point in weighing 🤷‍♀️

dozywelshbird · 21/11/2025 17:48

Oh and I have a referral code for £35 off that I can PM @Seahawk80

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 21/11/2025 22:56

Well done great losses @AbundanceofKatherines @Crunchymum @Merlin23 @Seahawk80 !!!

Did some black friday shopping today... biotin and protein strengthener shampoo, volumising shampoo with biotin, anti hair loss scalp serum, more biotin tablets, are we sensing a theme here?😂I have no hope that any of these things are magical cures but I'm gonna try everything just in case. I've never needed to buy a volumising shampoo before, my thick hair has never needed more volume 😭
For anyone who started off with thin hair, are you guys ok?? How are thin haired people coping with this?!?! Are you bald already?? Maybe if you started with less then you are losing less than the literal handfuls that are falling from my head multiple times per day. Gonna go check if wigs are on sale. Oh and mr muscle drain unblocker because I have been using ridiculous quantities of that in my shower drain recently 😭

Weigh in day tomorrow, I'm feeling hopeful for a whoosh, haven't checked the scale all week as no point while on period but I'm feeling thinner and my jeans are loose again and had to order the next size down
