Just done my Wednesday weigh in so here’s my rambling analysis before I have to get up and start the day!
My very slow crawl to the end is nothing if not consistent - although i feel like my scales just yo-yo up and down within the same 2lb - for a month now - my graphs show the trend. Another 0.4lb today. Last 4 weeks have been 0.4,0.6,0.4,0.4. I share this as think it’s important to be realistic about keeping going when we don’t have the motivating big losses of the early days, my average used to be over 2.5lb a week in the first 3-4 months and is now 1.7lb over the almost 6months (downgraded every week like you said @PeachSnail) And that’s ok, I’m not gaining, which I typically would at this point in the year, it’s a very busy time with work and the season changing usually sends me running for the hearty carb-y comfort food.
I also thing the change in weather has changed my (very high) volume of salads and I’ve not been careful to replace that with enough other fibre. And drinking less water. Resulting in some constipation issues which I haven’t had much of. Addressing that this week with a combination of diet and pharmaceutical intervention!
When is everyone’s 6 month anniversary? 23rd for me. What a life changing 6 months. When we get to that milestone, I have a notion to try to add up all our regular posters’ total losses. That will make for an impressive, inspiring number!
@cannyvalleysuch a good idea on the batch cooking, I’ve not done any in an ages and you’ve inspired me to plan some in for the weekend. My family will thank you too. Hope your friend is recovering ok. Awesome about your silent disco NSV.
@PumpKimi used to have pomphlolyx on my hands and it was so uncomfortable you have my sympathy. It’s weird my eczema changed completely after pregnancies and whilst I get small bits, it’s nothing like the discomfort of my early adulthood, you’re comment about living with itch takes me back. Never understood why it changed but presume hormones, it’s such a miserable condition.
Also after only ever injecting in my stomach, on a whim I did it in my thigh last time - I’m not convinced it can make a difference but my slow loss made me think it was worth trying. It stung a bit, and there was a temporary bump after injecting. I do have a lot stretch marks there which I don’t on stomach, don’t know if that’s why.
Last thing I meant to share - I’ve been loving trying on jeans and trousers in high street shops and consistently fitting into 12s. Whilst this is great I was a bit surprised as 25year old me was a size 12 when 1-1.5 stone lighter than this. My lightbulb moment came this week during a visit to nice charity shop. Tried on a few pairs of trousers. The 14s fit perfectly, but 12s - couldn’t even get them up! The shop I visited was in a town that’s popular with well off retirees (hence having consistently great high quality stock in the chairs shops). But the trousers were all likely from 20-30 years ago! Vanity sizing illustrated perfectly by my hips and thighs! I bought the 14s, really nice work trousers and the label doesn’t matter. They still wouldn’t have fit a couple of months ago.
Well done for all the other successes this week, especially those of you managing to be more active in lots of ways. Have a good Wednesday!
