Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

I have the same as you @PumpKim every dose since I went up after 2.5 and I’ve had the red itchy rash the size of a 2p around the injection site. Nothing seems to help or make any difference at all, the only thing I’ve found is not scratching it and trying to ignore it seems to help it calm down quicker.

wlinewbie0425 · 08/10/2025 06:34

Just done my Wednesday weigh in so here’s my rambling analysis before I have to get up and start the day!

My very slow crawl to the end is nothing if not consistent - although i feel like my scales just yo-yo up and down within the same 2lb - for a month now - my graphs show the trend. Another 0.4lb today. Last 4 weeks have been 0.4,0.6,0.4,0.4. I share this as think it’s important to be realistic about keeping going when we don’t have the motivating big losses of the early days, my average used to be over 2.5lb a week in the first 3-4 months and is now 1.7lb over the almost 6months (downgraded every week like you said @PeachSnail) And that’s ok, I’m not gaining, which I typically would at this point in the year, it’s a very busy time with work and the season changing usually sends me running for the hearty carb-y comfort food.

I also thing the change in weather has changed my (very high) volume of salads and I’ve not been careful to replace that with enough other fibre. And drinking less water. Resulting in some constipation issues which I haven’t had much of. Addressing that this week with a combination of diet and pharmaceutical intervention!

When is everyone’s 6 month anniversary? 23rd for me. What a life changing 6 months. When we get to that milestone, I have a notion to try to add up all our regular posters’ total losses. That will make for an impressive, inspiring number!

@cannyvalleysuch a good idea on the batch cooking, I’ve not done any in an ages and you’ve inspired me to plan some in for the weekend. My family will thank you too. Hope your friend is recovering ok. Awesome about your silent disco NSV.

@PumpKimi used to have pomphlolyx on my hands and it was so uncomfortable you have my sympathy. It’s weird my eczema changed completely after pregnancies and whilst I get small bits, it’s nothing like the discomfort of my early adulthood, you’re comment about living with itch takes me back. Never understood why it changed but presume hormones, it’s such a miserable condition.

Also after only ever injecting in my stomach, on a whim I did it in my thigh last time - I’m not convinced it can make a difference but my slow loss made me think it was worth trying. It stung a bit, and there was a temporary bump after injecting. I do have a lot stretch marks there which I don’t on stomach, don’t know if that’s why.

Last thing I meant to share - I’ve been loving trying on jeans and trousers in high street shops and consistently fitting into 12s. Whilst this is great I was a bit surprised as 25year old me was a size 12 when 1-1.5 stone lighter than this. My lightbulb moment came this week during a visit to nice charity shop. Tried on a few pairs of trousers. The 14s fit perfectly, but 12s - couldn’t even get them up! The shop I visited was in a town that’s popular with well off retirees (hence having consistently great high quality stock in the chairs shops). But the trousers were all likely from 20-30 years ago! Vanity sizing illustrated perfectly by my hips and thighs! I bought the 14s, really nice work trousers and the label doesn’t matter. They still wouldn’t have fit a couple of months ago.

Well done for all the other successes this week, especially those of you managing to be more active in lots of ways. Have a good Wednesday!

Well done @wlinewbie0425 on the consistent loss and NSV of finding clothes that fit and make you feel good (regardless of the label inside)! 👏🌟

My weigh-in time also - after my mini strop last week at putting on, I went back up to 7.5mg and it’s a loss of 2lbs this week 🎉.

I have 2 full 7.5mg pens left so can either do 10 weeks of 7.5mg or 14 weeks of 5mg or some kind of hybrid. I think I’m going to stay at 7.5mg for the rest of this month (we’re going to an all-inclusive at half-term 😬) and assess after that. I’ve got 1st 7lbs to go to get to goal weight so want to max out my chance of getting as close to that as I can before life post-MJ…

wlinewbie0425 · 08/10/2025 08:26

Well done @Coventree2lb at this stage is brilliant!! I’ve changed dosing a bit as was getting queasy with 5mg but also food noise creeping back and had bought 10mg pens in the pendemic panic which need used next, so have now decided to take 3.33mg (20clicks) twice a week. Did some graph plotting and it keeps things level within -a similar range with smaller peaks and troughs. So far so good.

Well done on your losses, @wlinewbie0425 and @Coventree !
I think as you lose more its like ascending a mountain without oxygen. Your progress slows and gets more difficult at the same time. But you are staying strong, consistent and motivated, and I just know you'll get to the top!
I'm planning to batch cook a chilli today. I hope it goes better than my last one, where I put a lovely portion in a bowl, then walked across the kitchen to put the tupperware away. I turned back round to find my greedy dog with her front paws on the counter scoffing away, and ended up a portion down.

I'm sure she's just trying to save me consuming unnecessary calories 😂

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 08/10/2025 20:25

Great losses, well done everyone!

@wlinewbie0425 6 months! I love the idea of adding up our collective losses

@Coffeeandallthebooks how kind and selfless of your dog to help you with your diet 🤔😂

My NSV for today... the first week I started tracking workouts on hevy vs this mornings workout, I've added over a thousand kgs! I'm only tracking dumbell exercises for shoulders arms back and chest, not tracking bodyweight exercise or lower body. I'm feeling very motivated to get myself into a gym and use machines to lift really heavy stuff!

Hello all,

Friday weigh-in today and another -1lb for me.

Im quite slow now but I have lost at least 0.5lb each and every week since I began. My 6 month anniversary will be the 26th.

Have had a heavy week (work is crazy, kids have so much going on and now my dad is needing to have some tests via the 2 week pathway 😪). Usually I'd be reaching for the junk / living off sugar but I'm still making good choices and not letting food become a crutch again.

Well done to everyone on their losses, NSV and milestones. Keep going.

AbundanceofKatherines · 10/10/2025 08:36

Morning lovelies.

Friday weigh in…

1.1lb loss this week. Better than the last few weeks, but I have been very much on it this week.

Stats:

SW: 12st 7.5lbs
CW: 9st 7.4lbs (joined the 3st club!)

BMI: 23.6

24% of me has moved on.

I bought a belt! And it’s a size “S”!

However, I have no illusions. I agree that vanity sizing is a thing. In my late teens/early 20s I weighed around 8 stone. At 5’3 1/2”, size 10s fit comfortably. If I went over about 8 1/4, my clothes were tight and uncomfortable. I don’t remember there being any size 8s. I have some size 12s from decades ago and they are far too small at the moment. In 1985, at 9st 7lbs 5’3”, I would have been a size 14. In 2025 I am a size 10.

This also goes for men. My DH has recently bought some Levi jeans. He was a 32 inch waist in his youth. Measures at 34” now and was going to order 34s, I told him to go for the 32s. They are a little loose! I kind of understand the women’s sizes moving, as they don’t mention measurements - but surely 32” waist trousers should fit a 32” waist.

Ah well, I’m not going to get hung up on it 😉

I had a lovely day yesterday - I went clothes shopping. I only bought a belt, but I had such a fab time looking at clothes and imagining them on. I tried on coats and cardigans on the shop floor with confidence.

Wishing you all wonderful weekends.

Kat

AbundanceofKatherines · 10/10/2025 08:42

Morning @Crunchymum- your post popped up while I was typing.

Well done on your loss 😊 I’m 6 months on 26th too. I’m sooooo glad we started this. I shudder to think how miserable I’d be now without MJ.

🤞 for your dad. Thinking of you.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 10/10/2025 11:40

Well done on your losses, @Crunchymum and @AbundanceofKatherines !
Great losses for you both, and a size S belt must feel brilliant

I lost 2lbs this week, taking me to 12st 1. I'm very happy and hoping for the 11's in the next couple of weeks!

Sadly my BMI has increased again as I went for a Dexa scan and they informed me I'm 5'4, or 162.5, not 163. My healthy weight target has shifted down a pound in response. But just a pound, so I'm sure I'll cope 😂

violetmondays · 10/10/2025 11:45

Morning and happy Friday! Weigh in and jab day for me - I was expecting not to have lost anything and was actually a bit anxious getting on the scales. Have had a few meals out this week and have been more hungrier than usual (I have generally made good choices though) the last couple of days. However, I lost 1.1lb! So I am really happy with that. Only 1lb to go until my goal of 10 stone. My 6 month anniversary is on the 24th.

SW: 13st 3
CW: 10st 1
GW: 10st
Total loss: 43lb (plus 6lb before I started MJ)

Congrats on the losses @Coventree @wlinewbie0425 @Crunchymum and @AbundanceofKatherines your nsv - I hope you enjoy wearing your lovely new size s belt! I agree about the sizing, I was surprised to find that I am fitting into size 10s and I don't think I was last time I was this weight - but then again, my bum has pretty much gone awol so that could explain it, and I still have boobs so probably more like a 12 on top. I do feel like my body shape has changed a bit this time. I haven't kept much in the way of clothes from years ago so I am just going to take being a size 10!

Such great stats on the weights @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy

Have a great weekend everyone!

Great loss but the height thing is so annoying! I probably should measure my height as I am either 5'5.5 or 5.6 and that half an inch does make a difference in terms of BMI.

PumpKim · 10/10/2025 16:30

@wlinewbie0425 most people have never heard of pompholyx! Mine is on my feet 😬

@AbundanceofKatherines You've got a point about old sizing, I was about 7.5 / 8 stones in my late teens, and was a 10. My friend at the time was even teenier and she would get so upset that there was nothing small enough for her in Top Shop. It all changed with the size zero era I think.

I got my winter wardrobe out last weekend, I do love my autumn winter clothes so much more than summer. After thinking I wasn't shrinking at all, a few of my work clothes are definitely too big now, stuff that was uncomfy last year is now falling off me including a couple of favourites - don't know whether to be happy or sad!

Merlin23 · 10/10/2025 19:26

Well done everyone! Great losses!
I've stayed the same this week. But losing over 4 stone in less than 6 months I can't really complain.
But I was disappointed.
Went shopping today to get NSV feelings. Went into the Levi's store and instead of being ignored as someone who wouldn't fit into their jeans. Shop assistant came over and told me all the offers they had in store. Amazing how different I was treated. I tried some size 12s on too tight in the thighs but lovely everywhere else. Wrong shape but a 12 is pretty amazing. I did buy a lovely hoodie in Adidas in a medium. Wouldn't have looked in Adidas before.
Hopefully I'll have a whoosh next week. Perimenopause probably!

StartingApril2025 · 11/10/2025 09:04

Well done everyone fab results again this week!! And not just on the scales but the NSV too, the confidence, the clothes shopping experience etc. I hope everyone is proud of themselves. @Merlin23 amazing that you have lost over 4stone, a massive amount in such a relatively short time. I hope you enjoy wearing your new hoodie!
Weigh day for me this morning and another half a pound down. Not really the whoosh I was expecting/ hoping. Lost 3lbs this month, seems so low but trying not to get disheartened as expected nearer the end. We have a lot of celebrations this weekend for various reasons so food won’t be on par but generally I never go passed by goal and if I do I make sure the weekly balance adds up.
Onwards to another week and wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

wlinewbie0425 · 11/10/2025 09:51

Happy weekend everyone! Was pleased to see they’ve finally updated the stats on this - it’s said 1.5m users in every article since we started our joinery and we all know by the other massive threads each month that it had to have increased significantly.

1 in 20 UK adults!! 2.5million users. Amazing.

Interesting to see how the numbers increased month by month on that graph. Looks like we all jumped onto it once it's popularity really started to escalate!

I read this article this morning about people buying knock-off retatrutide, the next weight loss drug from Lilly that's still in trials... This trend is partly linked to the price rise for Mounjaro. Crazy that people would risk taking this 😳

www.theguardian.com/money/2025/oct/11/tiktok-influencers-telegram-whatsapp-parallel-market-unlicensed-weight-loss-drug-retatrutide-uk?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

wlinewbie0425 · 11/10/2025 10:36

@PeachSnailyes we seem to have caught on just as it went crazy mainstream!

if you’ve ever browsed MJ tik tok then that other article won’t surprise you - I’ve been astonished at how brazen the Reta pushers are on there and they seem at first glance just like the normal MJ affiliates, it’s absolutely wild that they don’t get banned. I’ve seen posts by MJ people with a lot of followers encouraging people to report and apparently TikTok say there is no issue. Promoting the sale of unlicensed therefore illegal unknown drugs online. It’s terrifying and I fear we are going to hear many sad stories illustrating the dangers in coming months which will further damage the reputation of the real medications.

87.2 this morning. That is a half kilo loss this week , but doesn’t feel great as I’ve been dicking about around 87 kilos for about 5 weeks now. I really really need to be 86.9 now. I’m not greedy but come on.

PumpKim · 12/10/2025 07:05

Official weigh day. 1.2lb off this week. Pleased with that 👍

It was my birthday yesterday, and I took myself for my nails done and a wander round the shops. Size 14s fit me in M&S 😱. Snug on the waist, but fastened and looking much better on the hips bum and thighs than 16s (curse of the apple 🍎 strikes again). I didn't buy anything but came home feeling pleased with myself! Again though, I have a few favorites in the wardrobe that are 16 or 18 that are probably too big now!

Off for another spa today, this one was a planned birthday treat, last week was compensation for the cancelled concert, I don't spa every week 🤣

wlinewbie0425 · 12/10/2025 09:33

Well done @Zebracatand @PumpKimgood losses and even more enjoyable changing room NSV! And enjoy your spa day!

OP posts:
Coffeeandallthebooks · 12/10/2025 09:37

Happy birthday for yesterday @PumpKim !

I hope you enjoy your spa day, and size 14 in m&s jeans is no mean feat!
I lost weight, years ago now, and tried on size 16 jeans in m&s that fitted but were too small. The assistant pounced on me as I left the changing room and wouldn't take 'they aren't comfortable' for an answer, ended up marching me up to the till and I bought them 🙈 I'm glad you got away with just trying them on 😂

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 12/10/2025 21:00

Well done on all the great losses @Crunchymum @AbundanceofKatherines @Coffeeandallthebooks @violetmondays @Zebracat @PumpKim

@Crunchymum hope your dad is ok 🙏

@Coffeeandallthebooks ooh fascinating, would love to get a dexa scan done! Have you lost some fat from the top of your head and the bottom of your feet to have shrunk half a cm?!

@violetmondays wow so close to goal, fingers crossed you get there next week!

@PumpKim Happy birthday!

Nearlyhadenough · 13/10/2025 06:19

Well done everyone! I’m loving reading all your stories as we go towards our 6 month mark.

A loss of 1.7lb for me this morning, taking me to a total of 3 stone 6lb. But, also, just into the ‘10’ stone bracket! Haven’t been there this millennium!
