Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Have a fab holiday @BeachBodyAim

wlinewbie0425 · 04/10/2025 10:38

Happy weekend everyone and happy birthday @wendywoopywoo222 so happy for you being able to feel happy and healthy and enjoy your celebrations knowing you are well on your way to a new era of being comfortable and happy with your weight!

Have a great holiday @BeachBodyAim you can live your user name now with that amazing overall loss!

I don’t know much about cholesterol, other than both times in the past where I’ve had it checked as part of pre-employment medicals I got a ‘high cholesterol’ flag and then on digging deeper, both times it was high on the good one and fine on the bad one! It annoyed me both times!

🥳 on the three stone club @Scousebloke! You’re making great progress.

87.7 today, a gain of 100 grams from 2 weeks ago. We had a dreadful 6 hour journey in torrential rain yesterday and the only thing available to eat was McDonalds, I’m sure I will start to lose again now we are home from our holiday.

BudgieMom · 04/10/2025 10:58

Happy Birthday @wendywoopywoo222 have a great day! 🎊🎁🎈🎂🍾

Coventree · 04/10/2025 11:47

Happy birthday @wendywoopywoo222 - enjoy feeling your very best as you start the next decade as you mean to go on! And happy 50th for later in the month @violetmondays! I’ll be joining you in December 🎉🥳🎁.

Well done on all the losses (however slow and steady) and health improvements we’re rocking on this thread - and ‘keep the faith’ for those waiting to see the next whoosh of weight or measurements…we will all get there - just look at how far we’ve come!

Hawkmoth · 04/10/2025 12:09

I'm coming up to a very important milestone... 2lb to go and I will weigh less than DH. That means more to me than him, I am having to find different things to hold onto because I really don't see the difference I would like to. Maybe I will start to go through the sizes quicker now and start to actually feel smaller. I don't know!

I think lipoedema is really tough with weight loss as it holds you back from your 'real' size. Things that fit my arms look very boxy round my middle, so what I wear needs careful consideration. Happily it's jumper season!

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 04/10/2025 16:29

Happy Birthday @wendywoopywoo222 !! Hope you're having a great day!

Well done @BeachBodyAim! my goal weight is also still in the not healthy range but we are recognising our limits and doing what will be sustainable for us. I've gone too low before and gained it back and we are not doing that again!
Hope you have a great holiday!

Well done @Scousebloke congrats on joining the 3st club!

Weigh in day and I'm down 2.9lbs this week! Very happy with that! I was 0.5 down mid week for my monthly weigh in on the first and got a big whoosh after my period ended. I am now 0.5lb away from my next milestone so will be obsessively weighing every day till I hit that!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Happy birthday to @wendywoopywoo222 I hope you have had a wonderful day! 🥳

wendywoopywoo222 · 04/10/2025 22:46

Thanks for birthday wishes. Been out in a lovely cross over dress feeling fabulous. 3 course meal and 3 cocktails at Miller and Carter so now I’m overful and tiddly 🎉🎉🍾. Think I’ll leave weighing for a couple of weeks as I’ve a lot of meals out planned. Well you are only 60 once and we still need to have fun 🍹🍹

PumpKim · 05/10/2025 07:40

Happy birthday @wendywoopywoo222

Weekly weigh in and another 0.6lb off, so that's 2st 3 altogether. A bit disappointed it's not more but period is due and I think I'm a bit constipated 😬 usually it's the opposite for me. One week my whoosh will come 🤣 I have consistently lost every single week so far, and that is definitely something to be proud of, that I've never managed before.

Off to a spa with my friend today, we were meant to see CMAT but her gigs were cancelled, so not ones to give up on the opportunity of a girly day we booked this instead. Looking forward to a natter and chill.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone x

Merlin23 · 05/10/2025 21:32

I love reading all the positive posts!

I'm definitely feeling hungrier! Ive been down to 5mg for a few weeks from 7.5mg. I am feeling better with less upset stomachs on 5mg. I'm definitely hearing the food noise again. I'm fighting it as I know my body can cope on a lot less food but it does make me think what will happen when I am off long term.

It almost feels like my body is fighting back as it wants to be obese. I read an article years ago that once you've been overweight/obese your body thinks that is it's correct weight and does everything to go back. I really want to win this battle.

Coventree · 06/10/2025 08:10

I’ve struggled too @Merlin23, going down from 7.5mg to 5mg. It took longer for the MJ to have an effect on me when we first started back in late April than some of us. 2.5mg did nothing, 3.75mg did nothing, 5mg I started to feel some effects, but 7.5mg was the perfect dose. Then the price rises came along and I dropped to 5mg. It was okay for a few weeks but then I realised I wasn’t recognising when I was getting full and would eat everything (healthy) on my plate. And the usual 2 glasses of wine limit had slipped back up to 3 at the weekend. I don’t think I’ve had food noise (but then I’m not sure I ever had that in the first place) so I wasn’t craving more food or unhealthy food, but the fullness and the ‘stop’ signal wasn’t coming into play. My weight stalled a bit, moved down a bit, stalled a bit more, and then I put weight on last week. So I went back up to 7.5mg and it’s been perfect this week. It’s definitely the ‘right’ dose for me but it’s been a bit of a shock that dropping down meant some old habits came straight back in, and it’s a worry for post MJ life if the reality is that I haven’t actually learned how to manage my food intake and have ‘just’ been relying on the MJ effects 😬. But for now, I’ll continue with 7.5mg for a bit longer and assess how best to manage the two final pens I’m down to now 😢.

Morning all 🌄

Weigh-in day for me

SW 87.65kg
CW 73.6kg
GW 65kg

So I just lost 0.25kg this week, making it a total of 14.05kg (2.2 stone) since starting MJ. The losses are really slowing now... Each week the Shotsy app downgrades my average rate of weight loss 😂. But at least the losses are still coming bit by bit.

I do have a fair few NSVs though 🙌

My prediabetes blood test came back as 'normal' so I'm very relieved about that!

I ran 10.7km on Saturday - my longest run in recent times... And I went to a 2.5 hour badminton club session on Sunday. I haven't played badminton in about 9 years and I'd kind of lost the confidence to do so whilst being so overweight and unfit... I have really achy arms and shoulders now though! Think I must have re-awakened some long dormant muscles!

@Merlin23keep going - You've got this! Are you talking about set point theory? Where the body has a set weight that it really tries to hang onto? I think that's one reason why weight loss plateaus from time to time... And why maintenance is so important to try and train the body to get used to a new 'set point'.

@PumpKim I saw CMAT at a festival in the summer and she was amazing! Hope you get to see her another time and hope the spa was fabulous!

@wendywoopywoo222 yes carry on celebrating - you don't turn 60 every day!

And congrats to everyone else on all the fab losses! 😊♥️

Merlin23 · 06/10/2025 08:58

@PeachSnail
Setpoint sounds right.
I will keep going it is just frustrating when I've had no desire since starting to snack. But now I'm having to fight back, even on 5mg.
I'm my lowest adult weight so I'm not stopping.
Thank you for the support and @Coventree

StartingApril2025 · 06/10/2025 10:29

@Merlin23 you’re doing fab keep going, hopefully things settle down. @PeachSnail well done great results this week!

I weighed in Saturday and lost 1lb which brings me to 3.5 stone lost since April, it’s been 0.5-1 a week recently so feel this last 10 pounds will take ages but feel ok with it. Have started my period so not putting out much hope for this week but we will see. I typically have a whoosh the week after my period.
Have had a really itchy and red reaction at the site of jab this week- not sure why as only happened once before. Possibly because I did a wipe of the skin after the injection this time with the wipe also?!
hopefully settles!

PumpKim · 06/10/2025 17:39

@StartingApril2025 I've been getting the allergic reaction every time since 5mg. I was hoping it would calm as I got used to it but no change. Antihistamines and hydrocortisone don't seem to work either it's very annoying but a price I'm willing to pay for the weight loss.

Merlin23 · 06/10/2025 17:44

@PumpKim
I'm sure you have but are you injecting in different areas and rotating the site?
Sorry to ask the obvious.

Yes, I rotate each thigh and left and right side of belly. Tried doubling up on stronger antihistamines, a good cleansing routine prior to jab, but nothing seems to make any difference unfortunately. I'm just unlucky I think

What a pain! Literally!

PumpKim · 06/10/2025 17:58

I do have another 'itchy' condition called pompholyx so I can kind of live with an itch, if that doesn't sound weird. I do wonder if it's linked even though I've never read anything to suggest it is, but it's autoimmune so I wonder if I just have very overactive histamines when something foreign enters my body. Obviously I'm not a scientist and this is all just wild hypothesising 🤣

You should email Trump, as he's a leading scientist! 🤣

Hi all, I’ve been mega busy so just catching up.

Happy birthday @wendywoopywoo222! Hope you had a really lovely time celebrating.

massive congrats to all who are losing/ maintaining/ trucking on… keep going gang, we got this!

ive been really slack with eating again this week (noticing the pattern of massive work load / poor eating habits). I just forget to eat and I don’t get the normal hunger signals to remind me- though I have been a bit light headed at times which is clearly not great.

Im going to try some batch cooking again, as this helps. I’m supporting my friend at the moment, who has had a recent surgery and is less mobile. I’m making her a few meals this week so am going to cook double so I’ve got quick meals to heat up and eat . She’s gluten free and veggie, so will be something different and exiting (my old friend the chicken breast is no help here)….

I went to a silent disco in a cathedral at the weekend and danced my socks off from 6pm to midnight…. No way I could have done this even a few months ago. So much fun and the most exercise I’ve done in ages ! Just like an exercise class (if i don’t count the couple of aperol spritz I indulged in at the same time !) …
