Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Wow @wlinewbie0425 thanks so much for the summary and congrats on a healthy bmi . @Merlin23 . I was a size 20 in April with a similar bmi. I’m a 16 now, I think, so I’m a belittle bit jealous or annoyed with myself or something, but I am beginning to believe that I will get there. I’m trying to delay the injection by a day or 2 , to cut costs. I injected today but it didn’t kick in immediately. I ate an enormous scone with jam and cream and then a bar of Aero. Might be better to stick with weekly injections. Feel very cross with myself .

GoGoGovy · 11/09/2025 07:33

@wlinewbie0425 🎉🎉🎉 congratulations! That is fantastic! Thank you for your daily summary. It’s such a fast paced thread that it would be easy to miss something - your posts are really appreciated.

Ive just done my daily weigh in and amazingly, I’m now only 0.5lb off a normal bmi (am constipated, so I’ve probably hit the milestone 😉). I’ve lost 4lbs in two days, which is my biggest loss ever. I I think I must have been holding onto airplane/hot weather bloat. I’m so close to the big 2 stone loss now - perhaps next week? Clothes wise, still wearing most of my 14’s but a lot are too baggy and I can get into some 12’s. My target was 9.5 stone, but I think my new target is a small size 12, whatever weight that may be.

Amazing work everyone, congratulations on reaching healthy BMI @wlinewbie0425 🥂🥳

I have not been great this week, stressed at work and finding myself picking at things a lot more, also weather has been awful so just haven't been out for as many walks. Need to rethink that for the forthcoming winter months 🤔

What's this about the golden dose? They're stopping that too 😞 why is everything against us to succeed at weight loss finally. Very demotivating.

Coventree · 11/09/2025 08:08

Go @GoGoGovy, that healthy bmi / 2st loss will be yours 💪 . 🤞 for next week!

Can you plan not to have food like that around you on injection day @Zebracat? Hope you can balance it across the week so there’s little impact from the odd ‘binge’ x

Glad things are getting back to an easier level to manage @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy. We definitely need to think about strategies for maintaining (and continuing to lose if needed) once current pens run out. Maybe prices will settle, maybe we’ve changed enough habits to go it alone. Cutting out bread, crisps and chocolate (but then I never really had a sweet tooth) are hopefully habits I can maintain - I’ll save them for special occasions.

I’m certainly feeling the pressure of the ticking clock looming as I’m working my pens down ⏰

Yeah @dozywelshbird, ‘golden dose’ being reduced so only just enough for priming the four doses (sorry for the DM link, couldn’t find an article elsewhere on it!) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-15080555/Fresh-blow-Mounjaro-users-manufacturer-Eli-Lily-reveal-KwikPen-REDUCING-size-removing-golden-dose-prices-increased-170.html

I bought an exercise bike for using when the weather’s rubbish…but it’s currently gathering dust 😬. That is one habit I can make myself get into.

New Mounjaro price squeeze: Pen size will be REDUCED

The pre-filled injection pens are currently 3ml in size and designed to deliver a fixed amount of the drug once a week, typically over four weeks.

Merlin23 · 11/09/2025 08:20

Exercise equipment.
I currently have an Exercise bike as a clothes horse and a walking pad gathering dust. As the weather changes I need to use them on my non work days.
That will help hopefully with maintaining in the new year.

dozywelshbird · 11/09/2025 08:39

are the walking pads any good @Merlin23 do they fold away as I hate things cluttering up the house (gathering dust and being used as a clotheshorse 😄)

Merlin23 · 11/09/2025 08:43

@dozywelshbird
The walking pad folds it's not very big. I always put a dining room chair by me in case I need to grab on as it doesn't have any sides like a full treadmill.
I need to use it more especially during the winter.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 11/09/2025 09:04

Lots of good news about this week, well done to everyone with losses and NSV's!

I've gained 2lbs this week but it's due to the birthday takeaway and cake so I'm not worried. Before MJ a gain would have really upset me, but I know why it happened and I'm sure it will be back off soon.

Had my first 7.5 last night and am braced as I get quite severe side effects when moving up. I'm sticking to water this morning until I see how I feel!

Coventree · 11/09/2025 09:32

Fingers crossed all goes well @Coffeeandallthebooks 🤞

Oh (sorry, I feel like I’m being spammy today 😁), it might be worth the reminder for people to check their TDEE calories again if you haven’t in a while, as due to weight loss you are likely to need less calories. I’ve just checked and am about 200 calories less a day, which means I need to make some tweaks to my intake. I then put everything I ate yesterday into My Fitness Pal, which I’ve slipped on doing, and it made me realise my nut consumption and glass of wine size 😳 have crept up, so useful to have the nudge to pull back on them and prob why I’ve stalled a little recently. I fill in this calculator and go down to the ‘macronutrients’ section and click on ‘cutting’. The text will tell you the calories (I don’t bother with the breakdown of carbs and fats and just prioritise protein): https://tdeecalculator.net/

TDEE Calculator: Learn Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure

Use the TDEE calculator to learn your Total Daily Energy Expenditure, a measure of how many calories you burn per day. This calculator displays MUCH more!

Good suggestion @Coventree . I had lunch out with a friend and thought it would be ok because I injected in the morning. I had a bowl of soup, but then fell off my resolve when I saw the scones. Twas delicious though. But I think it triggered a sweet craving and when Dh went out for milk, I asked him to buy chocolate. I should be fine today . But it is how I was and I can’t go back to that . I’ve just decided to ditch my old clothes as soon as they get too big , because I don’t want to be a size 18 or 20 again. But I will if I just blindly follow my impulses .

PeachSnail · 11/09/2025 11:30

Another cheeky NSV for me... I've switched to wearing a smaller cup size and chest size sports bra for my running! I noticed that the old mammaries were not being as securely constrained as they used to be, so tried a size down. I'm happy as that's a sign of really significant weight loss... But slightly anxious about what this means for my wallet... Investing in a whole new set of bras will not be cheap!

I also need a new belt as I need to go beyond the last hole... It actually makes me feel quite emotional as I can remember feeling so down on myself when I needed to go up a hole on that belt... All part of that weird inner turmoil of battling with weight... It's such a relief to have left that behind 🥺

@Coventreetry not too worry about the future price hikes too much... I got my last 5mg pen in August for £135 and I noticed that the cheapest price for a 5mg pen on Monj is still £135 (with discount code)... So hopefully there will still be good deals on the lower dose pens

@wlinewbie0425massive congratulations on reaching a healthy BMI 🙌🎇🎉🥳🏆
I'm closing in on a healthy range myself... I'm now at 25.1 and need to be at 24.9 or lower to get there. Really hoping I'll be able to join you in the next couple of weeks 🤞🤞🤞Looks like you'll be there soon as well @GoGoGovy- we've got this💪☺️

@Coffeeandallthebookshope you fully enjoyed your birthday takeaway and cake. You definitely have to spoil yourself occasionally! You'll get back to losing again in no time 🥳♥️

Amazing updates from everyone , I’m so very impressed with us all!!!!!

I got a promotion at work this week, and was wearing a truly fabulous outfit which I think helped with my confidence and swag in my interview.

I’ve bought a few new bits of clothing, mainly on Vinted but I did treat myself to a delicious soft jumper in M&S…. I’ve been shocked to fit into some 12’s, and my new jumper is a size small… a freaking SMALL?!!!!!

weight is slowly coming off in 1lb ish a week. I’m ok with that. To be honest i possibly should go up to 7.5, but also perhaps now I’m nearing a healthy BMI and weight, it’s just naturally slowing down?

im hungry this week, but still find I can only eat small portions. I’m exercising will power (that I didn’t know I had) in my food choices. It helps that I feel sick if I eat junk food.

did a mega drive for work today (7 hour round trip!!!) and bought apples, cheese strings and water in the service stations. Just sailed past the crisis and chocolate.. who am I?

lovely to hear you are still with us on this journey. Hope that things are still ok with your prescriptions. It’s hard to keep up with this thread at times, but lovely to check back in and see the names from way back in April - in some ways no time at all but in some ways a lifetime ago!

Congrats on the promotion @cannyvalleyI'm sure you would have got it anyway but the extra confidence of feeling more comfortable in your own skin can’t have hurt at interview. I think slow is better than fine- it’s good, I won’t go up any more now as it would just be impatience as I’m suppressed still and I am so busy that I know the weeks will fly by so 1lb a week would be perfect and is loads by Christmas.

great about the bra victory @PeachSnail weirdly I’ve not bought any new ones yet at all mainly cos I had been in denial, using extenders and changing into non wired sleep bra style ones as soon as I got home. I want to wait until I’m sure I’ve settled at a steady weight then treat myself.

Good reminder on the TDEE @Coventree great reminders that the occasional gain or slip is normal and we just get back on track no problem @Coffeeandallthebooks and @Zebracat

walking pad info is interesting - I’m not sure about them but DH has one, I should try!

Almost the weekend and it can’t come soon enough. Nothing planned after a busy one last weekend.

good luck to all the Friday weighers -
from my notes app I think we are all around week 20/21 Wow!

Late weigh in this week as after school event yesterday meant I just crashed as soon as I got in.
1.8kg down 😳my biggest loss in a single week since starting.
My eating habits haven’t been great since going back to school - skipping meals and not drinking enough water so I’m not happy that this was a healthy loss. But it’s all in the right direction and if I don’t lose anything next week that’s fine
SW 87.1kg
CW 73.8kg

Total loss 13.3kg. Finally joined the 2 stone club 💪🎉

Scousebloke · 11/09/2025 22:11

@GoGoGovy @wlinewbie0425 @cannyvalley Yes im good thanks. I set myself a target for my weight loss back in April of 3 stone and im currently at 2 stone 8lb lost so just 4lb short of that. Ive managed that while staying on 5mg after the initial 4 weeks at 2.5mg.
My main use for mounjaro was to control my type 2 diabetes blood sugars and so far so good so im desperate to stay on it. Since i read on the NHS App that the clinical pharmacist at my gp practice was trying to deprescribe it for me ive requested it twice and got it. So i will just keep on until a repeat prescription request is knocked back and then try and argue my case.

Scousebloke · 11/09/2025 22:21

Sorry should have said currently at 2 stone 10lb weight loss

Crunchymum · 12/09/2025 07:54

Only a measly -0.5lbs for me this week. Which is disappointing as I'm on such a high dose (10mg).

It is time of the month though and I have had a few off piste instances this week (party on Saturday and Domino's on Sunday) so I won't dwell on it.

Think I have the start of a wisdom tooth infection, which reminds me I need to chase up my referral. I get it once every few years and usually end up on antibiotics.

All on all feeling a bit "meh" this week.

I'm 3.5lbs from losing 3st which cheered me up as I thought I was much further away.

3st was my initial goal but for my height that doesn't even put me into healthy BMI category. So 4st it is!! Hoping to be there for Christmas.

Congratulations to everyone in their losses and NSV 🎊

Merlin23 · 12/09/2025 08:06

@Crunchymum
Hope you're not in too much pain
A loss is a loss.
When I started I hoped for 48lbs, I'm now at 51lbs. 16lbs more to be at a healthy bmi. I'm hoping to finish at the beginning 2026.

Nothing measly about a loss! Especially after a domino’s (yum).

re wisdom teeth. I’ve had the same issue for years. I bought a HISmile toothbrush (amazing , amazing toothbrush) and a water pick / water flosser. Utter game changer, haven’t had a flare up in 2 years (previously at least once a year or more). Having mine removed would mean extensive surgery, as apparently they are positioned in very tricky spot and roots are ‘enmeshed’ (don’t fully understand this but sounds gnarly so I tend not to dwell on it), so managing this has become a total mission for me.
