Lots of very useful discussions going on on the old thread, so I thought I would continue it!

Chemist4u have said they have stock and no plans to put prices up in line with list price!

Really , that is so good of you to post.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 15/08/2025 18:58

In a very typical turn of events, it’s jab day, I’ve committed to 15mg for my next three pens and I can’t stomach food. MADDENING!😭

@gimmemounjaro you wont get one because the point of posting that comment was to hurt and panic as many people as possible when they were upset and struggling emotionally after yesterdays news. It’s their sole reason for being on these threads and yesterday they had a field day including something they did on another thread in relation to the price increase which was downright cruel.

And it’s very difficult to report people like this poster because they’re so good at what they do. Just how do you explain their behaviour and intent to the moderators? But at least by calling them out on their behaviour they’ll be recognised on the threads until the change their username and start all over again.

I’ve been reporting every comment like that as not a genuine poster, it gets quite a few taken down xx

It doesn’t get enough of them gone, but it’s some!

Something this entire crisis has shown me is there’s still so much bitchy-ness on these threads and amongst WLI users in general. I remember when I started my journey I browsed all of these forums for months to do research (without commenting because I was too scared) and there was so much bitchiness about doing it the “right” way. Such a shame

That is sad. Mumsnet has been one my “Go too” for all sorts of advice…I am always grateful for good advice & don’t feel that any nastiness is ever necessary.

To be fair, sometimes words written can seem harsher than meant. e.g. I had some pretty aggressive responses when I first posted the original thread yesterday, as I recall (before the price news had really broken).

It's probable they were not meant as hard as they read.

You did indeed. One poster was really quite rude.

'I want a proper source, not reddit'.

Remember them?

Why are you here to cause shit?

I will hold my hands up and say I was stressed yesterday and wasn’t the politest to @CoverMeInMarmalade, for which I can only apologise.

im not here causing shit nearly 48 hours on, though

You've literally just done that with your 'such a shame' posts above.

CoverMeInMarmalade · 15/08/2025 19:40

To be fair @LifeOfAShowGirl I genuinely didn't know one of them was you (I never checked the usernames) and you and I have chatted perfectly politely since on the threads.

Exactly. I was incredibly stressed because at the same time as you posted, people on Reddit were saying it would be £400+ a month. Again, I can only apologise

@JustPinkFinchthere are people on here calling us twats and dicks, I’d say that’s just here to cause trouble.

And there are others referring to posters as pompus, jealous and bitter. It's swings and roundabouts tbh.

Going forward, if I’m shopping around for my next pen who would you rate as a supplier?

Is pharmacy 2U any good? They have published the new prices it seems.

Sticking to my good diet & exercise regime has gone quite well after a year on MJ got the habits firmly established. I'm 2lbs heavier than I was when I stopped in March & my weight is stable. My concern w Wegovy is that they might also hike prices. Saxenda, liraglutide, is out of patent now so anyone can make it which means no one manufacturer can hold everyone hostage. The test results are not as good as Wegovy or MJ & the injections are daily, which is why it's less used. For me, there is an element of compulsively eating sugary foods & not being able to stop which feels like addiction, so an antiaddiction tablet might help.

Thats brilliant 👏 Any tips on what you are doing diet and exercise related?

Where can we seek them please? I have just looked on their site and it says in the FAQ they dont have them yet

Time4changeagain · 15/08/2025 19:49

@chipsticksmammy
could you please link the new prices for pharmacy2u, I can’t find them

I think Chemist4U have committed to not changing thier prices (for the foreseeble - who knows in the future) and the prices I've seen quoted on rd seem pretty good in light of new developments.

Don't know what they are like, but maybe worth considering?

I have only ever used Ashcroft Pharmacy and they are very good. I don't think they've put their new prices up yet, and they are out of 12.5 & 15 today. They have emailed to say they will keep prices 'as fair and competitive as possible' so 🤞

Presumably not you though, jumping on a helpful, informative post from @Wistfullysleepy with an entirely unjustified, “You could try to hide your absolute delight that some of us might have issues.” Just one example of many.

There’s plenty of nastiness that flies under the MN mods’ deletion criteria, but it’s still nastiness, and has an impact. It is a shame.

MiniCoopers · 15/08/2025 20:02

Interestingly I’ve just had an email from Juniper saying they can’t say the prices yet but they really don’t think it’ll be the 150% increase mentioned in the press however if I want to swap now to Wegovy I can … so it seems that they’re planning ahead for worst case scenario.

JustPinkFinch · 15/08/2025 20:05

You have to wonder whether stocks of Wegovy are resilient enough for this. And as it gets short in supply, what will happen to pricing.

In reality though, I suspect most people will stick to MJ and some adjust their dosing.
