Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

Sounds complicated!

It’s not as in easy to use app and you press ready and take the pic and if don’t like it redo

just hard if on own to angle camera to be able to do head and feet on same pic

@Azuresky68ive had two surgeries, work won’t let me return with my pain levels and instability so I’m hoping I can see my previous surgeon privately and he can operate. However, he does run a clinic privately, it’s tricky. My consultant has referred me but not heard from him yet.

I’ve run out of naproxen so managing on ibuprofen, or not! I put in a request a week ago so I’m a bit frustrated.

Do you not have a monthly prescription

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 21:25

For some reason, god knows why, they won’t put my gabapentin, naproxen and lansoprazole on repeat. I get it with the oramorph but the rest of it?!

I’ve just taken some cocodamol I found in the drawer. I’ve got tramadol too but hate that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2025 21:54

How weird. Mine is on a monthly repeat well every 28 days /4w and I can do via my chemist app or email doc if need more /earlier

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 22:00

I have inhalers and randomly an antibiotic listed as repeats. I’ll do an e consult tomorrow and again ask them for a repeat. I need to organise a payment certificate too.

FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 22:03

I’ve gone quite mad this evening, I’ve been sat moving my hands as though I have a hand bike for 4 minutes at a time. I probably look very random but it’s got my heart rate up a bit and it feels like exercise? I can just sit and do some of that and some boxing moves and I’m at least being more active.

I looked up average total and active calories burnt and went down a Reddit rabbit hole and realised that even in good times i am not burning any calories at all.

Azuresky68 · 20/08/2025 22:07

FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 21:09

@Azuresky68good luck with the specialist, are you likely to have surgery? I can absolutely sympathise as I also have a bad back!

Thank you. Mine is nerve pain ..had it for years but worse now. I have had guided injections manyvyears ago and was on tramadol for a few years. Consultant is well regarded for pain management so fingers crossed. Not seen anyone about it since 2018.

Azuresky68 · 20/08/2025 22:10

@FurForksSakewas interested to know if you will still try to get to your preferred weight, despite STS for quite a while. I am frustrated that I can't seem to lose the final 4 pounds!

Give it time tho rem you wanted to be 9s I think and then went lower

you may get to the weight you want but can you keep it there and esp with price hikes

FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 22:19

Can they do a nerve root decompression or an ablation? They can be very successful. I have sciatica but currently it’s ok,thankfully. Nerve pain sucks.

I did wonder if I might stop and accept 8st 10/11 was my end point, but I’ve decided I’m going to do it and finish properly.

im supposed to be seeing family this weekend so I’m sure I’ll be told I’m gaunt and that I’ve lost enough, they told me that a stone ago 😆

with the new diagnosis of osteoarthritis in my good hip I want to put the least pressure on my joints possible. And also if I’m going to taper at some point and come off I want to come off from a low point in case I very reasonably put some back on.

I’ve come far enough and I keep saying I’ve lost 5.5st and I want to make that accurate 😆

FurForksSake · 20/08/2025 22:20

I have no idea what my original target was, I never imagined I good get under 9st! Same as @Azuresky68 it felt like a good number. We do need to be patient the pair of us as you say!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2025 23:44

Good god. Now an email from iq asking for proof of what I’m on as they said they can only give me 2.5 as been months

now I get all the tightness of checking right dose /bmi etc but getting annoying now

I have sent them proof of a 10 before the weekend when I did the order

found out why med express have refused me - coz my bmi is under 23.5

im too skinny for them 🙄🙄🙄

ha ha ha

never thought that would happen

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2025 23:45

At this rate im not going to get any spare ones at aug prices

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2025 23:51

And Ousch have no 10 or 7.5

OP posts:
Timetochange24 · 20/08/2025 23:57

@Blondeshavemorefun my bmi is back up to 24 after my holiday- does that mean med express would send me something?! It seems so arbitrary, especially after so many places were so comfortable prescribing until now.

I've been quiet while trying to juggle the holidays. Just trying to catch up. Dc find the summer hard so it hasn't been great.

I've got a delivery tomorrow hopefully (booked ages ago) then nothing... Just had an email from Oushk that they don't know when they'll get more stock of anything under 12.5 so might try for that when it comes in, then switch to wegovy while I step off the medication. Can't justify spending so much on MJ after Sept but not ready to go cold turkey. My careful plan to titrate down after the stressful summer holiday has been thrown out somewhat!

I hope you're all well and enjoying the summer ☀️

Weepixie · 21/08/2025 00:08

All the years I’ve had an Apple Watch and I didn’t know if I swiped left on the fitness app when looking at my activity circles I’d get my total calories for the day. But just what are those total calories, is it my BMR?

Argh @Blondeshavemorefun that is so aggravating!!

@Weepixietotal calories is your bmr + active calories burnt across the day.

Notfinanciallyresponsibleforyou · 21/08/2025 00:36

Email from Oushk just in. They only have 2.5. No idea when they will get 5, 7.5 and 10. They are expecting 12.5 and 15 in a couple of days but they are prioritising existing patients. They may not get everything they order as

‘We have now been officially informed that all pharmacies have been allocated strict quotas for each strength of Mounjaro. Once these quotas are met, we will not be able to reorder that particular strength until 1st September, when the new pricing from Eli Lilly comes into effect.’

Weepixie · 21/08/2025 00:54

@FurForksSake thank you. I really must start exploring technology beyond working out to do the very basic things I want (for eg) a phone or a watch to do when I buy one. In fact it’s just yesterday my grandson asked me about something in my car and as I scrolled through a list of stuff on the home screen I sat there thinking oh, I don’t know that, fancy that, wow bloody hell, imagine that, what does that mean 🤣. It really is just completely wasted on me as is my phone, my laptop, and apparently my watch as well. I don’t even use Siri and on a recent long journey with my girls I was amazed what they both used it for in the car even.

And I’m sorry you all seem to be going through the mill with your pens and your future on Mounjaro.
