Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

They were not all with the same supplier

just to say I meant that suppliers having increased their prices already is immoral and should be illegal.

I wasn’t referring to bulk buying - every penny a person can save nowadays even on the family shop is a penny saved.

Oh sorry. I did word my post badly!
That was the announced price increase from 1st September.

Weepixie · 15/08/2025 16:58

@Red. Ah okay 😊.

Now can I have your hand whilst I get down off my soapbox😆

That made me laugh 😆

I was looking at ordering a couple 12.5s - anyone know who has stock to save me trawling?!

PoemsForTea · 15/08/2025 17:22

It was my anniversary yesterday so I celebrated by taking measurements! I am -67lbs but still nowhere near a healthy bmi - not particularly aiming for that, and don't really have a goal weight. I'll think I'll know when I reach it.
Anyway - I have lost ....

Bust

-9.5 "
Top Belly (the menopausal under bust one!)

  • 9" Waist
  • 12" Hips I didn't actually measure at start but from when I recorded -5 Left Thigh (didn't do the right 😆) -6.5"

Following seeing the nurse this week, she was going to chat with GP today re: me trial stopping my 5mg Amlodipine for BP, I've just had a text to say do a months trial and review, so I'm delighted.

PoemsForTea · 15/08/2025 17:24

Well the numbers went weird! Trying again..

Bust -9.5"
Top belly -9"
Waist -12"
Hips -5
Thigh -6.5"

Weepixie · 15/08/2025 17:47

Im so pleased for you. I’ve been off my 5mg for two weeks today and I feel fabulous. I still have to check it another few times a day for a couple weeks then every few days between now and December when I hope to be discharged from the specialist BP clinic.

I don’t know about you but my last 6 weeks on the amlo were awful. I was having terrible funny turns and generally just feeling grim and it was my Dr son in law who said it’s your blood pressure, not your blood sugar, it’s way too low and he was right. I’ve never been so blooming glad to get off a medication in my life. I feel like a different woman now. 💐

Weepixie · 15/08/2025 17:48

You have done fabulously well. ❤️

Weepixie · 15/08/2025 16:12

@Redlightbulb that should actually be illegal and this may sound absolutely bonkers but during wars people are shot for profiteering. Not that I’m asking for anyone to be shot but what your supplier has done is immoral and trading standards should be involved.

All the very best going forward - you’ve got a plan so you’re almost at the finish line already.

Edited

It could be that all of their stock purchased at the old price is accounted for and they will have to buy new stock to meet new orders. The pharmacies have quotas and can't order as much as they want whenever they want.

Of course they could also be a bunch of bastards

BettyandtheVets · 15/08/2025 20:42

For anyone looking at which pharmacies have stock. Try Chat GPT. Be specific - what dose, if it’s currently in stock and the once you have identified who has it ask it to find you a discount code.

It isn't accurate I just followed it's suggestion and the pharmacy had no stock of any strength!

Ah no?! Worked ok for me yesterday morning, so there’s clearly limited stock out there. My pharmacy (we prescribe) have sent an email saying they are expecting more stock on 19 August if that helps?

BettyandtheVets · 16/08/2025 06:37

@owlyboo would you mind sharing the schedule you followed to titrate down?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2025 08:02

@MrsHerbs79 take a full length as it really it amazing and confident boosting to see the diff

@Redlightbulb ouch. That’s crazy

@poppym12 if you can afford to I think it’s wise to order now to save huge £

@20bloodypounds if you /we/me do every other month can we do the same dose. So if on 10. Then a month off 10 can I go back to 10. Sure I read you can if under 8w don’t want to go back to 2.5 as that did nothing for me

@Weepixie sounds like all suppliers will do the same as no choice

@poemsgreat measurements. I will Take mine once home

Good morning guys.

so, I’m back down to 85.3 today. 🤣🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Who would have thought I’d decide on the 14th of August last year to set myself a target of 85kg on the 14th of August this year, and I’d get to within 300gms of it.

300gms is equal to 10 ounces. 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2025 08:05

So a year to the day when I started mj after realising slimming world wasn't working for me

Never thought I would be slimmer and so many lovely comments from people on my holiday pics on fb. A year ago I was a lot bigger.

17.4 to 10.7 tho I'm happy to be 11. That's my cut off

BMI 38 to 23

Size 20 to 12. Some tops /dresses a 10 but I know I'm not a 10.

Few weeks of sts which really pissed me off but generally a lb most weeks.

I'm hardcore and got to 15 without any major side effects.

im tired a lot but that’s due to anemic and be interesting what my levels are after taking iron , Vit b12 - Vit A and folic acid which in all low in

and wanted to reduce for cost (even more now so for sept)

I am reducing and on 10 tho the pain has increased in my ankle hips and knee which isn't so good so trying to find the balance

I will drop to 7.5 I think esp with the rising costs and maybe even try one month one and off to see how my hunger and weight cope

Annoying as it is with the costs going up. Thank god we did this a year ago my little auggies 💖

Morning all. Very sad news about the price hike. I can’t afford it at the old price, let alone at £50/£100/£150 more. I guess that’s the end of my MJ journey.

It’s been really hard without it, I won’t lie, however I have maintained what I’ve lost. I would like to loose more but now isn’t the time to do it as I’ve shed 16 stone of man. I’ll get there in my own time as I know what I need to do, I just need to stick to healthy eating and as much exercise as I can manage.

My main concern is that MJ has helped me so much with my health, the same as so many on here. My liver is functioning normally and my aches and pains are so much better than they have been for years. It makes me wonder if I go downhill again whether I would be able to get it prescribed through the NHS. Something to look at in the future.

I’ll still be around lurking in the background as I feel you’re all my weight loss friends. I’ll be cheering you all on, and will pop back to update you on how I’m doing.

Bon voyage all!

owlyboo · 16/08/2025 09:43

@BettyandtheVetsI did two weeks of 15, 12.5, 10, 7.5 and all was good, then when I got to 5mg I did feel unusually hungry so I stuck at 5 for a about 4/5 weeks (I think!) then everything settled down so I switched down to 2.5 to finish out my pen. Which I think I’ve done for around 4/5 weeks (maybe a little more) I took my last dose on Monday so that’s it now. Apart from a few weeks at 5 when I guess the higher doses were all coming out it’s been fine. Haven’t been anymore hungry on 2.5 then I was on 15! So I’m hoping for the same without the jab and my body has adapted 🤞

well done @Blondeshavemorefunlooking lovely, enjoy your holiday and the fb compliments!

well done @Weepixie! I only ever count the whole number so you’re at goal to me!

Azuresky68 · 16/08/2025 09:47

Hi

We have just been informed there will be some changes announced next week to maintenance plans, codes form September will not be valid and new ones will be issued. therefore we are unable to send any new codes at the moment until we have confirmed pricing and maintenance plans.

Pen update - Used my fifth dose to go up to 15 mg last Sunday. No side effects. I have a 7.5 pen to use up as it's open, so I'm going to use that as a couple of 15 mls dose, then I have a full new one of 12.5, then 3 x10 mg. That will take me to December. Might space out doses now. Could have done with one for over Christmas. Definitely going to have to go down to 5 eventually. I am still staying the same weight, with daily variations, since February...around 8 stone 10. I might look elsewhere for an extra pen. Scarily dependant on MJ now. My ideal weight would have been 8 stone 6. That would be BMI 23.8
8 st 10 is 24.6
