Happy 1st birthday to us all - somewhere in this month we gathered our courage and started what would be a memorable journey for us all - made some hopefully forever friends

Gather round my little auggies 😍 and we are all doing amazingly so be proud of yourselves

the amount of weight per person lost varies from 1-2stone - 3-4 - 5-6 - 7+

in a year or for some 11-11.5mths - I was middle of August - we have totally changed our body shape - reduced our bmi and weight and hopefully improved our health

some are at goal - and working out how to maintain

some nearing it

some still have weight they want to lose

Some have stopped for cost / various reasons and blowing baby dust your way to those who are ttc

but ALL of us have lost weight and I love the fact we are all so supportive to each other over weight and our general day to day lives

maybe if brave - post your before and after pics to see how far we have come in a year

@MargoLivebetter lovely to hear from you and many congratulations on your success 💐💖💐

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2025 10:16

Sorry for gain @Azuresky68 but weird your friend lost

Just shows how everyone is different though! Will be easier for her I guess as she is still 2 stone overweight. I don't mean the journey is easier, just harder to keep losing for some people when near to goal.

How is the holiday going? Hope it's amazing. When are you back or are you back now?

MissFancyDay · 14/08/2025 14:26

Another original checking in. Congratulations @MargoLivebetter and massive kudos to @Blondeshavemorefun for keeping this thread going.

I haven't posted since before Christmas but I often lurk and nearly post. To be honest this news this morning (for U.K. people) about potential price increases gave me the push to update again. So sorry for being absent.

I started at 17stone 4lbs at the beginning of August 2024 and am now at 11stone 11lbs. So a loss of 5 stone 7lbs.

To say I'm thrilled is an understatement, it's changed my life and changed everything I do. My goal is 10 stone so I have about 1stone 11lbs to go. I'm on 12.5ml at the moment and trying to save the highest dose for the last stone.

It hasn't been all plain sailing along the way and I've suffered terrible constipation despite trying everything.

I have been thinking about maintenance and switching providers, I've been with ZAVA from the start. But to be honest this news about potential price increases has thrown mw a bit (a lot) I'm thinking possibly titrating down to a lower dose, I don't know. The best thing is of course to wait and see what happens before making any snap decisions.

All I know is that I am going to see this through whatever happens. All the best everyone.

owlyboo · 14/08/2025 14:47

Just popping on to say has everyone seen the news about the price hike in September. Looks like MJ is going to be WAY more expensive. Obviously doesn’t affect me now, but just in case anyone still buying wanted to buy a bulk buy before the hikes!

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 14:52

Yes, though the thread on here was saying that maybe not as big a hike as people are fearing as pharmacies don’t pay list prices they get adjusted and deals etc.

owlyboo · 14/08/2025 15:01

I did see that they think they’ll be able to swallow some of the increase for a little while at least.

MissFancyDay · 14/08/2025 15:01

Yes, there's no point panicking until the actual facts come out. I have just ordered my new pen a week early though just for safety's sake.

owlyboo · 14/08/2025 15:01

Thank god we all started a year ago!

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 15:25

I’ve just ordered my next two pens with oushk so that will see me through till end of October. I’ve not ordered two at once, but it let me add two to my cart for delivery at the end of August.

PineappleCoconut · 14/08/2025 16:52

Hello August 24 skinnies

I left considerably earlier in the year, and came off MJ, while trying to find out what was wrong with me.

Many NHS telephone appointments and several thousand £ later, I was diagnosed with cancer. And now awaiting surgery, although they seem confident it was caught early enough to hopefully not need chemotherapy too.

But in more positive I too have almost lost an elephant’s penis.

By tomorrow I will have done.
I had lost about 2 stone I think before I stopped, the rest has fallen off on the cancer diet of nausea and pain, and now the extremely strict cancer diet of not eating anything that causes bloating and pain.

I’m losing about 0.5-1kg a day, but wouldn’t recommend it.

It does however keep me out of A&E.

I am however positive, and this should be out of me soon. And I’ll have to stay on the super strict diet for weeks if not months after, whilst being ordered out for flat walks, so expect to continue losing.

It was not how it was planned, but heyho.

I’ll be skinnier and cancer free at the end.
started in a size 20-22 depending on boob and bum clothing cuts, rarely actual fitted clothing, today I’m in a size 16, although it is a very loose fit almost maternity dress. Thank goodness they seem to be fashionable. And my boobs are still here and will remain, even if other bits of me will be cut away soon. Woop, even more weight loss. I have an extremely dark sense of humour.

I am astonished at all your progresses.
Bravo August ladies!

And thank you for inspiring me to finally do something about my weight. I always said I didn’t care. I realise now I really did.

BettyandtheVets · 14/08/2025 17:12

@PineappleCoconut so sorry to hear that news. Sending you best wishes, and if you want support through this new journey of yours, stay with us here. @Blondeshavemorefun will look after you and we’ll all chip in where we can.

I’ve also ordered 2 pens - feels a bit bad, like the buying toilet rolls in covid but this price increase worries me. Apparently it’ll come into force 1st September but may take some time for private pharmacies to increase.. who knows.

upped my dose to 15mg slightly before I was ready but my plan is to take 12.5 out of it and hope I can eek the pens out as I’m not bothered about the 28 day thing. Then by the time they run out I’ll reassess.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2025 17:22

AIN@Azuresky68 holiday is lovely. Back late this sat. Been on boat trip today and saw dolphins and whales in the sea

Blondes you might want to get onto oushk and order 3 pens. Looks like it’s going to go up by £100-150 a pen from 1st September. It’s definitely going up as trump has pushed for it.

owlyboo · 14/08/2025 17:41

@PineappleCoconut so sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. Glad you’re coming out the other side.

@BettyandtheVetsi took my last dose of 2.5 out of a 10mg pen this week so have been using it for AGES! And it hasn’t seemed to lose any of its effectiveness. I’m not saying it’s okay to do but been okay for me! I think it was my last dose anyway… I don’t think there’s another left if it. I think it’s just the golden dose left. If I can hard twist it I’ll use it if not that’ll have been my last dose.

@Blondeshavemorefunthat sounds like a very lovely day! And yes sorry about the bad news I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware, not to scare monger as I realise we have no idea how much it’ll go up by but it seems it’ll be costing the companies 3x as much to bring us more inline with the costs of America etc. so there has to be somewhat of that increase put onto the consumer. So agree with @FurForksSakeanyone with any more pens to buy I personally would do it sooner rather than later.

Weepixie · 14/08/2025 17:47

Hi ladies. I hope you’re all well.

I came of my 5mg of amlo 2 weeks ago, I’d previously been on 10 but that was reduced a few months ago. Anyhoo - for the last 6 weeks I’d been feeling really ill and having funny turns, one of which my GP son witnessed and he said straight away it’s your BP and I think it’s very low, and it was. So the next day I was off the medication and checking my Bp twice a day for the last few weeks, and as the days have gone by and the medication has left my body my BP has gone down to normal where it’s stayed steady for the last week - it’s actually the lower end of normal, not just normal 🤣

Anyway, Today was my quarterly BP check up at the clinic and they’re delighted. They’ve said I don’t need the medication anymore but I will continue to monitor my BP for the next few weeks to get a month long reading to put in my file, then in December I’ll be discharged from the BP clinic. I’m so happy. Mounjaro has been fabulous for my cholesterol, my prediabetes and now my blood pressure.

And today was extra sweet as it’s my 1year anniversary on Mounjaro tomorrow and it was my goal to get to 85kgs and if I’m not that tomorrow I’ll only miss it by about 300gms. And yes, I am telling myself it fabulous but that 300gms will seriously piss me off big time for a few hours 🤣🤣

I thought the lady called Hira had said on a live it was 50-100. I saw that on the other thread. Regardless of what it is though, I’m heart sorry for everyone who’ll feel as if they’ve been hit by a train with this news.

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 17:56

I hope it’s £50-100 but for higher doses that is still such a huge rise.

Weepixie · 14/08/2025 17:58

@PineappleCoconut I’m so sorry! I just saw your post. I can remember when you said you were going to try and find out what was going on with you and what you’ve said is shocking. Is there anything we can do for you? Are you coping? I had ovarian and had an old fashioned nervous break down such was the shock - so having been where you are I really am hoping your managing to keep even the tip of your ears above water. With lots of love to you ❤️

Weepixie · 14/08/2025 18:12

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 17:56

I hope it’s £50-100 but for higher doses that is still such a huge rise.

I know and I can cover it, but I don’t want to which is why I decided from the outset not to buy it where I live at 450 pounds a month. I felt it was immoral and that somewhere along the line some greedy pig was going to be getting fat off my fat so I said a big fat no! What I pay is bad enough but as strange as it sounds I quite liked outsmarting the one supplier we have here so I paid up to get it from the UK at about 340 pounds a month with a very twisted/warped/evil smile on my face everytime I passed the local pharmacy.

Anyway I’ll be titrating down next week as planned and pen wise I’m okay till the end of September when I’ll grudgingly cough up whatever I have to cough up for a supply that will last to the 15th of December which is the day I’ve always planned to stop it.

Im heart sore though for everyone who this must be a terrible body blow to.

WorriedRelative · 14/08/2025 18:24

Fuck

Oushk have no 15 or 12.5mg in stock!

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 18:25

That was quick! I imagine hira will sell every scrap she has access to before the end of the month.

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 18:26

Do you have another pharmacy you can use?

WorriedRelative · 14/08/2025 18:39

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 18:26

Do you have another pharmacy you can use?

I haven't used anyone else since October. I haven't been chasing discounts.

FurForksSake · 14/08/2025 18:40

I stayed with Voy until a few months ago when I switched to ousk. I think it’s taken the whole market by surprise.
