I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Just thought i”d share - I was looking at prices and if any of you have a Blue Light card (NHS and police too i think) Med Express offers 35% off the 1st order… so a 5mg pen is at £97.5, a 7.5mg pen is at 110.49 and a 10mg pen at 110.49…. It feels like “before” prices!! A great deal!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 22/08/2025 17:07

Those of you that are stretching the 30days in your pens, just curious as to how many days you are going to. I panic bought 2x5mg pens. I’m only taking 2.5mg but using it for 50-60 days strikes me that it is pushing things a bit too far. Just curious what others are doing. The 5mg pens were basically the same price as the 2.5mg I had been buying so still works out better if I just get and extra couple of doses, I may also need to increase overtime so made sense to get 5mg when I placed the order. I’m more than happy to go to 35 days so getting 6 doses out the pen (days 0,7,14,21,28,35). Just being nosey really as to what others are doing. I keep the pen in the fridge always.

my bundle hasn’t arrived yet but just had confirmation from chemist4U that my order on the 15th 8am has been approved and will be dispatched shortly.

I went about 8 weeks. That's probably too long. Will you be able to keep it in the fridge? I didn't bother.

notgonnafail · 22/08/2025 17:57

I've been splitting doses to minimise side effects @lifetheuniverseandeverything42 and been using a 5mg pen, even though I've only worked up as far as 4mg split in two, so my pens have all gone past 30 days and all had more needles going in, so more risk of contamination than just 4-5 of them a month. Haven't noticed any issues. I do use alcohol wipe to clean the pen before and after jabs and keep them in the fridge. I use every drop I can get out of them. A few people on the threads for the earlier beginners than all of us said that as long as the liquid isn't cloudy it should be fine to use - but obviously everyone's risk level is different, so you have to go with what feels safe for you.

tostaky · 22/08/2025 18:16

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42
i keep mine in the fridge, in a sealed box. Ive used mine for about two months without a problem. I think the worst that could happen would be a decrease in efficiency. If there was contamination, the colour might change or become cloudy. Im happy with the risk.

dc82 · 22/08/2025 18:48

The chat has been varied today! 😆😆😆

My MJ is definitely French and scathing as well. Lots of raised eyebrows and elongated sighs!

I remember in the 80s my mum was all over slim fast for breakfast and lunch and Lizzie videos and then I remember a Beverly Callard one!

I’ve been a jeffing saint this week, I fear if I don’t have a loss this Tuesday (gain last week) there is going to be an embarrassing toys out the pram moment.

Away to nose at this Downton stuff!

….. And if I really really had to pick, Japan gets my vote 😉

FlorenceNightshade · 22/08/2025 18:56

I had seen this a while ago and screenshotted it incase I ever got to a point where I needed it! Doesn’t give any advice about extending pens over 30 days but some ideas about maintaining and what it might look like.

Also saw some tips for what happens afterwards if you choose to stop.

Med Express have announced their prices on the website. I’ve attached (yet another!) screenshot.

Seeing how much it will now cost, I’ve ordered one 5mg pen and I’m planning that to be my last. I have two unopened 5mg and one with I think 2-3 3.75mg doses in it.

Definitely planning to titrate down and microdose, not decided exactly what that will look like but definitely some “rule-breaking”.

@FlorenceNightshadeare you working for the NHS as a nurse? Do you have the blue light card? You get 35% off with medexpress

Seahorsesplendour · 22/08/2025 20:33

@tostaky ooh thanks for sharing about blue light! I’ve only ever brought from asda but that might be a more affordable way of getting another pen!

those price increases are as depressing as anticipated!!! 😰

still can’t let the buggers get us down!! We’ll find a way!!

Rosemary Conley was my first diet at 23, set me out on this yo-yoing journey! Then 7 years later at 30 I lost 3 st with her too only to be matched now 18 years on again with MJ!

my MJ is very camp and vivacious much like my one of my best friends!! Lots of oooh darling you really don’t want that …. Do you 🤭

combined with Lily Aldrin’s death stare from how I met your mother … that’s when the aforementioned portcullis comes into play!! 😅

this thread has been ace today!!

@PinkScot so glad it came!!!!!!!

FlorenceNightshade · 22/08/2025 20:39

@tostaky its for new customers only and not on all products, or it was when I ordered the first time! When I ordered my first pen I used someones discount code as it worked out cheaper.

The increase plus postage pushes 5mg over £200 and while I can afford it ( I know I’m lucky to be in that position) it feels harder to justify. I’m about 5kg away from my goal, losing between 0.5-1kg a week recently so I’m hoping I can start cutting my dose down soon.

Plus, I’m the kind of person who likes to have an endpoint/final destination in mind. So no more pens barring a disaster! Making that decision very spontaneously today has been kind of “freeing” if that makes any sense?

🥳🥳🥳 Things are happening! 🥳🥳🥳

Just checked my e mail inbox, Asda have approved my order and given a delivery date of Tuesday !!
They must be working overtime as I’d last checked around 7pm last night and there wasn’t anything.
I won’t even care if it isn’t Tuesday , as long as it’s one day next week .
A tad early for 🥂🍾 , making do with 🫖 ☕️.
Oh, the relief….

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/08/2025 06:29

Week 16 weigh in
I lost 16kg (35lbs or 2.5 stones).
Down to 207 lbs from 242.

Whilst it sometimes feels slow when compared with others, it's consistent and I can't believe I got this far.
57 lbs to go 🤞🏼(this feels so much more achievable than 92 which was my starting point).

hottubsundays · 23/08/2025 07:02

Seahorsesplendour · 22/08/2025 11:20

The avacado message deeply entrenched here too I can practically feel my cholesterol rise when I dare to eat it!!! 🤣😂🤣

@HKG i wouldn't necessarily base my decision on losses alone … if it’s just on that I’d agree you’re losing well!

for me it’s about not having to have the constant little battles throughout the day!! It’s so freeing!! So once that food noise builds up I’ve increased. I’m hoping somehow somewhere along this journey that my body resets itself and enjoys its new end weight whatever that may be so I can take over where the medication leaves off.., it may be a vain hope (and when I get cravings that what worries me!) but there it is…

i have had a life time of daily battles and to not have it is what is helping me heal a bit I guess although that sounds ridiculous!!!

so I suspect in the end I will increase but think I’ll do smaller step up to eke the length of time out too.

my life is busy I work full time, have 7 year old with SEN & am doing a masters degree. I don’t have time or brain space to fight myself which is why I was the heaviest I’ve ever been & why MJ has been such a gift.

Sorry as I’m not sure that helps you make your decision but thank you as you’ve helped me make mine - I think I need to find areas to cut back even more to be able to keep doing this as am terrified of ending up back at the start before I even get to the finish line!!

Wow you’re a busy lady! I agree that I really enjoy not having the stress of food to clog up my week

DBatteryBand · 23/08/2025 07:08

Just did my weekly weigh in - even with the Bourbon Attack I am 3lbs down! I've lost 44lbs since May. That's mad!

Still a long way to go, but all very encouraging. Onwards and downwards!

notgonnafail · 23/08/2025 07:30

After a month of no real movement (a few ups, a few sts, a few downs all around the same weight) my weight seems to be moving down again! Hurrah!!

I'm now down 8kg (17.7lbs) since I started on May 21st. I may be the slowest loser on this thread, but I'm ok with that. Slow and steady suits me as I don't have a 'slim' reference point as an adult, so the extra time to get used to the changes helps, I think!

Also, with fatty liver, pre-diabetes and lots of other metabolic dysfunction, there was a lot of 'inside' stuff for the MJ to work on, I guess, to reassure my body it was safe to let the fat go!

I'm hoping the weightloss will speed up a bit now, to make the most of the pens I have, as I'm not sure I'll be able to afford the new prices, but we'll see how things go.

Onwards and downwards my lovely friends, hope we all have a wonderful weekend xxx

ElsieJay · 23/08/2025 07:43

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal , @DBatteryBand and @notgonnafail -
Congratulations to you all , great and inspiring start to the weekend.
Onwards and downwards indeed !

dc82 · 23/08/2025 07:55

Fantastic work on the losses @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal, @DBatteryBand and @notgonnafail! We’ve all come so far in our own ways in the past 4 months. It’s mad when you think back and in the past I would have wobbled off this path before now. May 25 team be knocking it out the park.

Not sure what everyone’s plans are for today but I’m hoping to get some weights in and a walk. I need some fresh air after a fall out with the boyfriend in the week (we don’t live together) and I feel walking is the best thing when my mind is a jumbled mess. Hope everyone has a smashing Saturday!

Seahorsesplendour · 23/08/2025 08:10

@hottubsundays 😅I don’t know what possessed me to do the masters if I’m honest other than felt I needed it for job security! But only 2 years to go!! 🙈 then hopefully some normality can return and at 50 (when I finish) I 100% will not be persuaded back to uni!! 😂

@DBatteryBand we’re weight loss twins this week!! Glad the bourbons and the dairy milk didn’t derail us!!!

also means I’ve hit my 3st mark which I’m thrilled about!!!!!

celebrated with a lovely knee friendly LWR workout! Oh how times have changed!!

@dc82 you're right we’re all smashing it!!!! I’d love to know how much we’ve lost collectively!!! At least one obese adult I would imagine!!!

well done everyone & hope you all have good weekend!!!

Seahorsesplendour · 23/08/2025 08:13

@ElsieJay 🥳 so happy to hear that!!!!!!! Great start to the weekend!!!! 😆😆😆

PinkScot · 23/08/2025 08:18

Jab day here today and my package did arrive yesterday on time hooray 🥳. I actually had a blip this week due to a slice of toast with peanut butter but overall still lost 2 pounds. As I am feeling a bit wobbly I thought I would look back on my journey so here it is from Shotsy - it’s jab to jab so a couple of them are 6 days.
1 = 4.0 lbs
2 = 3.0 lbs
3 = 1.2 lbs
4 = 0.5 lbs
5 = 2.5 lbs
6 = 2.0 lbs
7 = 1.7 lbs
8 = 2.5 lbs
9 = 1.8 lbs
10 = 2.2 lbs
11 = 0.8 lbs
12 = 1.0 lbs
13 = 2.3 lbs
14 = 2.7 lbs
15 = 0.3 lbs
16 = 2.0 lbs

woo hoo 🙌 feel better now that looks good 😊

BerfyTigot · 23/08/2025 08:18

Yay! @ElsieJay just been notified that mine is coming today 🥳 also Asda.

@notgonnafail that's great news, well done!

I'm struggling too and a sneaky midweek weigh in shows that I'm slightly up again - been having some treatment which is accompanied by a large dose of steroids which makes me ravenous for a few days and I can't control myself at all. But i wonder if actually I've used it as an excuse and maybe i could have tried harder.

Anyway, had the last dose this week, so should be able to get back on track. But it's still hard to see the number go up on the scales 😭

Onwards and downwards! Let's do it 🤞

ElsieJay · 23/08/2025 08:55

@Seahorsesplendour and @BerfyTigot -thanks, and great news yours will arrive today Berfy 🥳.
I’d made up my mind that if I hadn’t heard anything by Tuesday I was going to cancel (don’t know if that is possible ).
The vision of the parcel arriving with nobody here to receive it , and the resulting waste of £263.41 😱 was ….. somewhat stressful!

ElsieJay · 23/08/2025 08:57

PS Would think the temporary gain has everything to do with the steroids, Berfy.
