I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

@SaintAgatha I think many of us might be feeling a bit down today - an effect of the price rises and worry about what we'll do.

I doubt it's the result of going one day over your usual routine. There will still be lots of MJ in your system. Try not to worry - well no more than is reasonable in the circumstances.

Fedupoftheshits · 17/08/2025 16:49

Been very lax with updating! Hope everyone is doing ok?

Week 12 update - I forgot to update last week as was going away (Stayed the same) after spending a week on holiday at an all inclusive I’ve put on 3lb which isn’t bad at all. I had factored in about half a stone gain so was quite suprised.

Sorry for TMI - I suffered quite badly from constipation when I was away so struggled with feeling bloated etc. I’m glad to be back home only to get my bowels back in their usual routine!

On the positive side my NSV was being on holiday and not hating my body and actually thought I looked ok in any pictures that were taken of me. This is sometime struggled with for years.

SW: 13st 7lb
W1: -4lb
W2: -3lb
W3: -2lb
W4: -3lb
W5: -2lb
W6: -2lb
W7: stayed the same
W8: -3lb
W9: -2lb
W10: -2lb
W11: stayed the same
W12: + 3lb
CW: 12st 1lb
Dosage: 2.5mg

SaintAgatha · 17/08/2025 17:48

@Apprenante You’re right of course. I think I was just so profoundly struck by the difference in my mood (for the better) that I started to foresee a future without the fluctuations, and felt a bit shit at that not being doable. But I’ve responded really well to 2.5mg and the increase to 5mg, and I think I’ll just stay at those levels. I can justify the cost on the basis of the whole impact.

I’m going to weigh at the end of the month to see where I am. I suspect (going by my clothes) that I’m in the 14 stone category for the first time in a decade.

Onwards and downwards!

SaintAgatha · 17/08/2025 18:15

Also, I’ve just measured and between 23 June and today (so, almost two months) I’ve lost 3 inches from my boobs, 3 inches from my waist, and 2.5 inches from my hips. That feels incredible to me!

FlorenceNightshade · 17/08/2025 18:51

Amazing @SaintAgatha!! Well done you! I never took measurements couldn’t face it, kinda wish I had for the weeks where the progress feels slow!

OP posts:
SaintAgatha · 17/08/2025 19:11

@FlorenceNightshade Thank you! I can’t face the weighing regularly, it gets to be a thing for me and I didn’t want to get bogged down with having scales at home, especially with the kids there. So the measurements have been one way of tracking, clothes another. Then I try and weigh monthly so I can report back to my pharmacy.

HereIGoOnceMore · 17/08/2025 19:21

Amazing to hear about people’s progress. I’m joining in with the positive comments too. Like many, I’ve had a wobble since the news about price rises broke on Thursday, but yesterday I broke the 10st barrier for the first time in decades and today I bought a dress in a size 10. It’s a generous 10 but still a 10! Two really helpful reminders about why I’m doing this - it works.

I need to keep my head. I’ve ordered another 5mg pen which will take me into October and then I’m going to re-evaluate. I’m hoping by then, I will be able to drop back down to 2.5mg.

FlorenceNightshade · 17/08/2025 19:32

@SaintAgatha i am the exact opposite - I weigh daily! I like to see the little fluctuations and enjoy the general downwards trend of my little graph! Funny how our brains are all programmed differently.

Amazing @HereIGoOnceMore! Size 10 must feel good that is a goal of mine! Congratulations 🥳

SaintAgatha · 17/08/2025 19:38

@FlorenceNightshade I find it fascinating! I totally get the feeling of joy re: the downward movements. I think for me my DM was always obsessed with weight loss/gain and the scales were a frequent reminder of the potential for either. I’ve expunged them from my life! 😅

SaintAgatha · 17/08/2025 19:38

@HereIGoOnceMore Oh my gosh. What a feeling that must’ve been. Amazing, well done you!

Huge congratulations ! 🥳 🥂 🍾 xxxx

Another tracking app worth looking at is glapp.io. As well as tracking your dosage levels it shows how the medication is peaking and waning over the week and what to expect in each phase. You can track your weight, side effects and feelings. It provides an individual weight loss graph and also compares your weight loss over time to the average. All free.

VashtaNerada · 17/08/2025 23:29

DH made me a cheese sandwich on white bread this evening which I wolfed down with a bag of crisps in a moment of madness and now my stomach is VERY cross with me 😞
Putting it in writing to remind me to Just Say No next time!!

SutekhsEars · 18/08/2025 08:38

I've been away for a few days - only put on 0.5kg, which is not too bad. Back on water & protein today!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 18/08/2025 08:53

I gained a pound. Boo. Had loads of salad and chicken over the weekend, so it's unlikely to be a real gain, but boo all the same.

Hope everyone slept well, have a good day today.

notgonnafail · 18/08/2025 09:49

@Oysterblue thanks for suggesting glapp.io, prefer that to shotsy, and being free is a bonus!

notgonnafail · 18/08/2025 10:54

Well, what I thought was acid reflux from upping my dose on Wednesday has turned out to be some kind of virus (probably covid as same symptoms as the other times I've had it). Feeling a bit sorry for myself, after the excitment of yesterday's drop below 17stone! Hopefully it will clear soon as I'm fed up of the scratchy sore throat (since Thursday afternoon), pathetic unproductive cough (Saturday morning) and both bunged up (since Friday) and runny nose (since yesterday)!

Gingercar · 18/08/2025 10:58

Hope you feel better soon. My husband is off work with a stomach bug today too. There are lots of things going around.

Kbr22 · 18/08/2025 11:00

Well, I am driving to Spain today, hoping to arrive at our house on Wednesday. We will be there for around 10 weeks! We have never been away for this long before so not sure how it will go.
I am anxious re weight loss, but have 3 pens with me, and hoping we will not treat it as holidays but living in Spain. So my plan is to do a lot of walking, swimming and golf. We won’t be eating out much so can hopefully eat healthily, but the wine is going to be a problem!! We will be socialising much more than we do at home so it will be a real test for me.
I will still be on the thread, reading everyday, so hoping for all your wonderful inspiration.
I have different scales in Spain, and they are the ones with the phone app, with more information, so I am really hoping to see a good muscle and water reading since I was there last, just 2 weeks after starting my weight loss, so 9kg down since then, so it will be interesting.
Have a great week everyone, and lets not panic and see what the real prices are going to be like going forward.

tostaky · 18/08/2025 11:04

@notgonnafail i am currently in the GP’s waiting room! Ive had a sorethroat for the past 2-3 weeks. The past few days my symptoms worsened (sorethroat, runny nose, dry cactus like cough! earache and tiredness).
I dont know how being on MJ affects my immunity or my body resilience to bugs/viruses. It would make sense that as my body needs to adjust to a lower calorie intake and has to adapt to a lower weight and lots of changes in my body composition, it may have more difficulties fighting off infections (even though i take a daily multi vitamin).

notgonnafail · 18/08/2025 11:44

@Gingercar hope hubby feels better soon.

@tostaky Sorry you're still suffering. Hope doc can give you something to help. Low calories and possibly missing nutrients even when trying your best certainly don't help immune systems, so probably adding to the issues for us.

I'm so annoyed by it. I barely have contact with humans, as I live in the middle of nowhere and only really see people at the supermarket. Usually very quiet shops are currently full of tourists dithering around, coughing and spluttering, not caring who they infect with their germs, and now I'm poorly and feeling miserable.

PinkScot · 18/08/2025 12:54

happy Monday losers! Feeling blergh today my 7.5 mg shot on Sat has hit me for six, and it’s the 3rd one so not sure why. On the upside I flat lined last week lost less than 0.5 lb but I’ve dropped 2 pounds this morning 😆😆. I’m an every day weigher! Hopefully it’s still off by Wednesday which is my official weigh day. I’ve got one pen in hand and two on order so if they come I should be ok. If not I’ll dip into savings I’m not giving up!!

ElsieJay · 18/08/2025 13:03

Hello all ,get well wishes 💐 to everyone feeling poorly today - seems like quite a lot of us laid low today !
Have a great time in Spain, @Kbr22 , you have a plan (and pens) so relax and enjoy the sunshine.

tostaky · 18/08/2025 15:20

@notgonnafailso the GP thinks i may have had covid but with my body being depleted (v busy life + weight loss) and the stress of the heatwave (i am in France) my body has struggled to fight the infection off. (It has been three weeks with a net deterioration when i went to an area affected by the heatwave). She blamed the heatwave more than anything.
and it makes sense, everything around me is yellow, dried out by the sun… nature is struggling and so our bodies probably struggle a lot too.

PinkScot · 18/08/2025 15:31

@notgonnafail i feel you with the heat and I haven’t got a virus! Absolutely exhausted and everything I’m doing feels like walking through treacle. Think it’s a combination of the heat, the jab the lack of calories etc.

Anyway I thought I would share an update regarding extra orders… just had an email from Asda re: my two extra pens, they’ve said there will be a delay because of the unprecedented orders but it should be reviewed by doctor by Friday this week and delivered two working days later.
sounds promising anyway!
