I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

I think you’re right @lissie123 this thread shows there is no “right” way it’s just what makes sense for and works best for you! I hope going up to 7.5mg goes smoothly for you!

Gingercar · 13/08/2025 21:15

I’ve just ordered a 7.5 pen too (although need to do all the clinician stuff, pics etc tomorrow). I was wondering about doing more doses of 5mg from it, but now thinking stuff it, go up!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/08/2025 21:31

Also on 7.5mg from Friday. Bring it on!

tostaky · 13/08/2025 21:32

good luck with the 7.5mg pen. Im thinking of moving up to 3.75 and maybe 5mg soon. I have such a long way to go.. still onese and still cant fit in clothes i like.
well done to those who have already reached their target weight, im hoping to join at some point!

I did so well all day long and even said no to an icecream this afternoon… then tonight my son came back with magnum ice cream and i had one! I feel rubbish… i know it is only an ice cream in an otherwise “good day” but still.. it is so sweet and i dont even like it!!

Gingercar · 13/08/2025 22:02

I’ve still got three doses of 5mg left before I go up a dose. (assuming this pen doesn’t break, which it almost did on dose 2 this morning). We forgot to do the jab last night!

Apprenante · 13/08/2025 22:25

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Hayfever is the pits. But don't forget that not only does sneezing use up multimillions of calories but also that snot is a polysaccharide. If you are losing quantities of snot that will lead to a massive deficit and a big whoosh.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/08/2025 22:57

That made me chuckle, @Apprenante ! I needed that!

VashtaNerada · 14/08/2025 07:53

I still have so far to go! Just calculated how much more I’d need to lose to get into the ‘overweight’ category, not even ‘healthy’ and I’ve got ages to go yet 🙁

Me too. It’s horrifying. Probably best not to look too far ahead, and just keep at it.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/08/2025 09:33

Me too. It could take a long time.

In the meantime, so many things in my wardrobe fit me now! I'm no longer doing washing every 2-3 days to ensure I have something to wear. Doing laundry once a week now, our new place has a garden with space for washing lines and the only sounds are nearby cows mooing and birds tweeting. It's lovely.

Makes me sneeze though!

Gingercar · 14/08/2025 11:24

I use an app called “my weight” to log and it calculates when you should reach goal if you continue at the rate you are. It currently says early March (was feb until I stayed the same this week!). I think that will be longer as there will be some plateaus in and among.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/08/2025 13:57

Has anyone seen this? It's being covered in the Sun, the Telegraph and the Financial Times so far:

I feel sick. The price of Mounjaro could rise by up to £200.

I have been a long term lurker on this lovely thread, following everyone’s downward progress with laughter and commiseration. It’s been such a support. Though I’m now a bit more open about my MJ use, I think WLI’s are still the jabs that dare not speak their name (to misquote Oscar Wilde). Which is why the information and secondhand support I’ve got from you all over the weeks has really helped to keep me going - and losing. DH just has to look at a grated carrot to lose half a stone. My body has begrudged every single pound it’s been forced to give up. MJ has changed all that. I’m over 20lbs down and close to a healthy BMI. This thread has sustained me along the way. Thank you.

Me three. I'm going to be here for a while...glad I'll have some company!

Yes I keep seeing this on threads. I’d have to stop. But it might not be passed onto customers 100%. I think people will panic buy now and we’ll have shortages. I have enough left to probably lose another stone, which would mean I was nearly half way - perhaps I could continue myself from there?

PinkScot · 14/08/2025 14:30

@DidILeaveTheGasOn oh my goodness they are saying from 1st of September although the price rise may be lagged from that. Seriously considering a wee stockpile, can order a two pack from Asda where I get mine for £297 of a 7.5 mg and a 10mg pen. I’ve got one on order so that should see me to goal. Certainly not wanting to pay £200 more!!

There’s a lot of discussion of this on another thread. One or two people are saying not to panic until the pharmacies have come to commercial terms with el Lilly. I’m not going to think about it until I absolutely have to.

Kipperandarthur · 14/08/2025 17:18

I'm afraid it has spurred me on to apply to an on line provider, plus see my local pharmacist so that I can get a stock of 4 pens ready.

It's obviously going to happen and it's just a case of what exactly are the price increases going to be. Looking like they are going to be significant whatever happens.

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 14/08/2025 18:23

Urgh I’ve just ordered another pen - hopefully last one. Can’t believe they’re putting the price up. Medexpress emailed me and they’re saying for people to switch to Wegovy.

SaintAgatha · 14/08/2025 18:37

I’d advise a strong constitution for anyone going into the thread discussing price rises, there’s a lot of panic going on that, whilst understandable, won’t be conducive to keeping a clear head and making a plan for going forward.

I plan on staying as low as possible for as long as possible, start doing the golden dose and see where I get to. My plan was always to get to Christmas and then reassess: I hope I make it there. I don’t blame people for ordering more but it does look like there’ll be shortages going forward, UK users will want to get as many pens under the wire as possible.

This is a priority for me, as it’s not just changed my weight. I will wait to hear from my pharmacy and then go from there.

Seahorsesplendour · 14/08/2025 19:34

I feel sick!! I’m not normally someone that panics but I am this time. I am trying to stay calm but feel I may need to order a 10mg asap so at least can wean down sensibly over time if I can’t afford to continue.

I can’t look at the other threads as I know it won’t help me and hoping we can all support each other as we have so far!

i’m feeling stupidly dramatic over this but it feels like a life line that maybe snatched away after just starting to get a grip on it … I’m another with a long way to go & I was so looking forward to seeing what ‘there’ felt & looked like

gutted

SaintAgatha · 14/08/2025 19:42

@Seahorsesplendour We’ll probably have a better idea of what’s happening tomorrow, so try not to panic. I feel much the same as you though - MJ has helped me lose weight but also steadied my moods, given me more energy and improved my concentration. If it goes up horribly in price I’m going to stay at 5mg as long as possible, golden dose, and stretch the days between jabs longer. I’m determined that Donald Fucking Trump won’t exercise any power over my body or choices.

FlorenceNightshade · 14/08/2025 19:45

@Seahorsesplendour please just remember that no one knows any more than this - the prices are likely to increase. Anything more detailed than that is guesswork.

All we can do is wait it out, our respective Pharmacies will be scrabbling about behind the scenes trying to work out their next moves. Once they've done that I’m sure we will all get emails about what future prescriptions will cost.

Ordering early or extra is to be expected if you can and if that effects supply temporarily then there isn’t much that can be done about it.

Nobody is being dramatic, whichever stage of treatment we are at individually it’s unsettling to have the rug pulled out from under our potential plans. Nobody likes feeling out of control but for now I don’t really think there is anything else that can be done.

Hopefully we get meaningful updates from our prescribers soon.
