The separate needle for extracting and injecting isn't for hygiene @BreezyPeer it's because the needles blunt so easily as they are so fine. So I use a thick gauge needle to extract and a new fine gauge to inject. But as I say, I've been self-injecting B12 with this method for over 10 years so that's just the way I do it.

jealous of the retirement plans @PenelopePerseveres ! We're working on our own plans and aiming to retire in 4 years when youngest finishes school.

I’ve just ordered 1x 5mg and 1x 2.5mg using my final maintenance code with Oushk (sorry I mistakenly thought they had fully sold out yesterday but it was just the higher doses!). Had to whack it on my credit card as I don’t get paid until the 20th! It was £248 in total and the soonest delivery date was 28th August.

So I have the extra dose from my 10mg left, then I’ll move down to the 7.5 I have in my fridge and then down and down again and off completely. I’m a bit sad about it all really but need to remember that I am in a far better position than others as I am only 5lbs away from goal.

Hope everyone else manages to work out a plan and get what they need!

wasn't orange clown's argument that UK has cheaper prices and they have to be in line with what Europe pays? Yes it's more expensive here, but as @PenelopePerseveres says, the US crazy prices are not due to manufacturers pricing, but their ridiculous health care system. 5mg is about 270 eur in Europe, not 1000+ like in the US.

@HeidiNotSoHeavy Sounds like you have done a phenomenal job of reducing fat, well done! If they did the same op on me, they’d definitely still find enough!!!

Glad most of you have managed to find pens. I’m waiting for Oushk to confirm the order I did last night but it was for 3 pens and I’d already ( before the news) ordered 1, I see they’re now saying people can order 2 so maybe that’s why. I’m currently holding to speak to them but may drop as they’ll be crazy busy and probably don’t need me!!

Thanks so much for all the needle recommendations, I’m going to have a good look later. I’m on the train to get my hair cut and coloured and for a Bravissimo bra fitting, very exciting 🎉.

In other news, weigh day for me today and my loss earlier in the week has stayed so I’m 10 stone 13, which I can’t believe! I’m hoping my last 10mg will get me down to 10 stone 7, BMI 22.7 ( or 23 depending on which height I accept 🤣), and then maintain 🤞🏻.

Another week another weigh in and I still haven’t seen 9.0.0 on the scales.

This time however it’s because they are saying 8st 13.8. 🍾🎉🥳

2 stone 5.2lbs or 15kg lost. BMI 28.2 to 22.3, smaller clothes, more energy, IBS controlled - I’m a happy bunny. Next target is to lose 1% of body fat and to maintain. I’ve had 3 10mg pens approved which could last me 20 weeks. Sod the 30 day rule for now.

Thanks to all you wonderful people in my phone for being the best bunch of losers ever and long may we be here to support each other.

amazing, @Jins ! I'm sure this time we can all keep it off - all we needed was this tiny dose of the hormone we're lacking, after all.

Neither of my orders are confirmed 😩 yet. I’m not panicking, if I actually get them both I’ll have three pens and get 16 weeks out of them. If I have to/feel the need when I get there or I don’t get my orders I’ll consider Wegovy.

@BreezyPeer 😂 re my kids. I think it will be five years before they both leave uni and neither is destined for a particularly well paid career so I imagine that there’s potential for them to live with me for a while and it’s important to me for them to know that they’ve always got a home with me whether they are 3 or 33. Hopefully they’ll fly, but DC2 has struggled with severe depression since adolescence so definitely needs a safety net. DC1 is an absolutely lovely lad, very very bright, very ND, no common sense whatsoever, thinks about eating dinner at 7pm having not given a jot of thought as to what he might eat all day and is then surprised that he hasn’t got anything to cook 🤯. We hear a lot about mental health these days, that’s my biggest concern for my two tbh and why I’ll always have a room for them.

@2025istheyeari I clicked on the awful Facebook page earlier, apparently Oushk have got 3000 emails outstanding 😱.

The FB group is crackers today. There’s been a few very rightly frustrated people who can’t even place their regular order because they allowed everyone to order 3 additional pens yesterday. Oushk are trying to say the amount of orders placed was ‘unexpected’ but surely anyone with a shred of common sense could have foreseen this happening! The fawning ‘omg they are doing their best they are amazing and can do no wrong’ posts are irritating me. And I am saying this as a fan of Oushk!

@discov that facebook page makes me want to puke tbf and I am generally supportive of Oushk as a business/been there since the beginning. Mind you I only use facebook as an information source, never post and I probably find it vomit inducing genrally 😂.

Looks like my order is trundling through the process at Farmeci. Fingers crossed they can supply it next week. I need to inject tomorrow, I might go for 6.25mg.

I’ve had such a lovely day, 3 bras that fit ( have gone from a 38-40ff to 34G) and hair cut and colour. Spoke to my fab hairdresser re hair loss, as suspected combo of menopause and weight loss. I’m trying some Aveda Invati shampoo and she said to brush my scalp with vigour- I’ll give anything a go! Tried a coat on in Jigsaw and was only a bloody size 10, can’t believe it!!

Just had price update from Voy, pretty impressed with their response. No price increases until 14 Sept earliest, a commitment that prices for existing customers will be lower than those offered to new customers and £50 off if you want to switch to wegovy.

That’s brilliant @MJalltheway . I think I’ve seen that Boots have said something similar about prioritising existing customers and offering them a discount.

@2025istheyeari so o have been obsessive re the hair thing since noticing it a couple of weeks ago. My research has led me to pumpkin seed oil supplements as a first step.

I guess lowering the price is a super shrewd move. They have probably sold more MJ than they can get their hands on + their modelling will be 💣out of the water if we all stop buying MJ.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing @PenelopePerseveres I do wonder if Wegovy might be more suitable for maintenance.
MJ has worked so well, with v few side effects for me I’m loathe to change, but I was always planning to reduce to a very low dose. If it came to it, and the price became unaffordable, I could try the lowest dose of Wegovy and if it’s not the same I could switch back to MJ after making other lifestyle cutbacks. I was hoping DH could get onto MJ, but maybe he could try Wegovy instead.

I’m feeling all over the place at the moment. Bounced around the same 4lb for about a month and a half. But in that time I’ve had a holiday, first period in about 6 weeks, and a UTI. Only been back to normal in the last couple of weeks. Lost 0.4lb last week. This week suppression has been rubbish until today, and I jabbed Monday night! I’ve been so hungry until today tho, what’s that all about?

So I’m still undecided about whether to move up to 10. I’ll give it another week. Never a dull week on this journey!

I found moving up to 10mg great in terms of pushing me through a wobbly few weeks on 7.5mg @CurlsandCurves although now there's the price increases to consider as well.

Today I've hit a super exciting milestone - my metabolic age on my scale is the same as my actual age! I started at age 80 (😭) in January and today I am....51! 😁
