I think you’re right about the pen design. It’s so annoying to have to throw a costly dose away!

and on maintenance - are people maintaining without any MJ? My worry is that for the two week MJ break I took after my surgery I was eating like a horse. And loving my food too, planning meals and all that. That’s what got me into the mess in the first place!

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 11/08/2025 19:01

yes I've seen plenty of people saying they're off the drug but haven't gained weight. I'm with you here, I love my food - but we can still love it in smaller quantities.

I don't think I'll ever go back to same level of alcohol drinking though, with or without drug.

So I'm having my hernia surgery tomorrow. Not looking forward to it as such, but honestly a few days to be able to lay there and have no Teams calls or alternatively, someone going MUM?! every 2 seconds does not sound too bad.. 😂

Hope it goes well and that you recover quickly.

BlueLimes · 11/08/2025 19:49

Wishing you all the best @HeidiNotSoHeavy
@Polkadotdash have you any syringes? Could attempt to extract unless the liquid has leaked?

Good luck with exam results.

Polkadotdash · 11/08/2025 20:39

@BlueLimes i don’t know quite how he did it, but my DH managed to crack the whole pen. Far too much force!

hunkydory54 · 11/08/2025 20:47

@HeidiNotSoHeavy wishing you all the best for your op tomorrow and enjoy the peace and quiet

PenelopePerseveres · 11/08/2025 21:03

Best wishes @HeidiNotSoHeavy I hope everything goes well and you get to have a good rest afterwards..

I had a long day today, trains completely knackered. I didn’t get home until about an hour ago and have just eaten ⅓ of a normal sized supermarket pizza express pizza ….. realised when I got in that I haven’t eaten all day! Must do better tomorrow.

Wow re the pens breaking, I’ve never tried and have wasted the leftover dose more than I’ve used it but that’s a bit surprising.

DGonMJ · 11/08/2025 21:09

Good luck @HeidiNotSoHeavy hope, along with a swift recovery, you get to enjoy the downtime.

Zempy · 11/08/2025 21:32

Nightmare journey home from Sweden. I will catch up properly tomorrow but just wanted to say good luck @HeidiNotSoHeavy. We will all be thinking of you.

mince3point14159265 · 11/08/2025 21:38

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow @HeidiNotSoHeavy and the recovery afterwards 🥰

MJalltheway · 11/08/2025 21:52

Best of luck for the op @HeidiNotSoHeavy and hope the peace and quiet is good!

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 12/08/2025 07:11

Good luck for today @HeidiNotSoHeavy

Thelittlestranger · 12/08/2025 07:34

Best wishes for today @HeidiNotSoHeavy

Forgot to jab again yesterday, so 10 days from my last jab - doing it this morning. My mind is telling me I want to come off it feels - and I'm impatient. But sticking with it to go down properly.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/08/2025 07:35

I'm getting DaVinci robotic surgery. Fancy. Just waiting now.

Jins · 12/08/2025 07:55

All the best @HeidiNotSoHeavy.

MJalltheway · 12/08/2025 07:56

That sounds ever so fancy @HeidiNotSoHeavy , hope all goes well.

@Thelittlestranger have you jabbed yet?! Go do it!

I've always just extracted the bonus dose with a syringe and needle and always swap for a fresh needle before injecting so that you're not using a blunted one. So I use a large gauge needle to extract and a fine gauge one to inject.

Had a brutal body conditioning class yesterday and my legs have NOT recovered so I'm having a day off exercise for today. Going to spend the day with the in-laws, then back to work tomorrow.

Zempy · 12/08/2025 09:03

The Scales tell me I have gained three pounds since Saturday morning. I suspect this is sorcery.

It’s going to be a hot day so I intend to do very little!

Jins · 12/08/2025 09:28

@Zempy i think our scales are collaborating on the 3lbs gain. They need a good telling off.

I’m planning very little today. Making chutney and ketchup from our glut of damsons took up far too much of my time yesterday. Damson ketchup is a tiny bit like hoisin - thanks Delia!

edit - I have never switched needles and I’ve never had a problem. My brother is type 1 diabetic and when he was using bottles of insulin he was never told to change needle so I never did either. I’m pretty gung ho with injections though as I’ve been assisting in a veterinary capacity for decades

meatyryvita · 12/08/2025 09:35

@Zempy @Jins we will not stand for RUDE scales! How dare they!

Best of luck @HeidiNotSoHeavy.

All good here, an early weigh in suggests I've lost the 1lb that so rudely clung to me for last week's weigh in but I'll wait until my official weigh-in on Thursday to know for sure.

Have a great day losers and stay cool!

BreezyPeer · 12/08/2025 10:56

@HeidiNotSoHeavy hope all goes well today with the robotic surgery!
I have a much less impressive MJ and health question.
I was away at the weekend visiting family and one of them came down with a sickness bug, followed by another and . . . you've guessed it - followed by me 🤮. A horrible night in a hotel bathroom.

Anyway that was Sunday night, I was clear of symptons yesterday and ate one scotch pancake before bed. I am OK today, just completely exhausted. I will eat something light today but I haven't eaten yet.

Jab day is Thursday. What should I do? Jab as normal? Delay a couple of days? Skip it altogether and wait for next week? Or take a reduced dose?
All advice gratefully received xx

Cabinfever20 · 12/08/2025 11:10

@HeidiNotSoHeavy Good luck with your op today. Hope all goes well and you make a speedy recovery.

Polkadotdash · 12/08/2025 11:46

@HeidiNotSoHeavy oooh they threatened me with the DaVinci robot to assist with my hysterectomy. I was half terrified, half finding it hilarious, imagining a robot with a Leonardo DaVinci face and surgical scrubs on coming to operate on me. It was all done by humans in the end.

2025istheyeari · 12/08/2025 12:49

Ooh hope it’s all over @HeidiNotSoHeavy, that you’re not in too much pain and can rest up robots, wow!

@Polkadotdash so annoying with the pen 🫣. I’ve managed it once only, other times just wouldn’t budge…

@Zempy sorry to hear about your journey home, hope it didn’t spoil what sounded like a fabulous weekend. On the weight gain for you and @Jins , rude and nonsensical! I find I retain water after flights so bet it’ll be gone in a couple of days.

@meatyryvita yay, hope scales move downwards even further for official weigh in!

@Thelittlestranger you should definitely jab today!
@PenelopePerseveres hope you have a better day today.

@BreezyPeer oh no, poor you, that sounds grim 😢. You have a couple of days, maybe see how you feel and if you’re able to eat normally, otherwise delay by a couple of days?

@MJalltheway , I remain in awe of your exercise regime!! Enjoy your ‘day off’.

I think that’s everyone, sorry if I’ve missed anyone!

I had a cheeky mid week weigh in today and I was 10 something for the first time in I don’t know how long, early 20s?! DH asked last night when I’d last weighed what I weigh as I’m ’wasting away’, I’m not, I’ve just not been slim
forever!

I had my weight and height verification call and maintenance chat with Oushk today. I seem
to be 1/2 inch shorter than I thought I was but let’s gloss over that 🤣. I’m going with their conti plan like others, sticking to 10mg for my next pen to hopefully lose a final 6 pounds to get to 10 1/2 stone then gradually titrating down, a couple of months at 7.5, then 5 and see how I go. My long term plan is I think to get to 2.5 and extend time between doses but we’ll see. They are v flexible, it’s about what works for individuals. He made no mention of the set point theory I talked about reading another poster mentioning.

Sorry, that was a long post 🤣

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/08/2025 13:32

All over, went well

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 12/08/2025 14:43

Ha so the surgeon just came to see me and said they had to modify the surgery a bit because I had ..no fat inside, under the muscle. So they used some extra fancy biological mesh that is absorbed in 2 years and replaced with my own collagen. Curious to see if that will help to tighten loose skin as well, it should in theory?

But I can't believe that people who have just had c- sections are expected to take care of newborns! I'm fine, tiny little incisions but I wouldn't fancy taking care of a rock right now
