MooBaggage · 08/07/2025 08:50

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

@NewbieMJ I moved to SwiftDoctor a couple of months back. I had planned to go to Medicines Marketplace but they seemed to have more out of stocks. I don't know what MedExpress charge now but have found SD excellent, even got a reply to a Whatsapp message on a Saturday!

NewbieMJ · 15/08/2025 19:40

@QueenOfHiraeth Thank you x

I had an email from Swift, just answering a tedious question unrelated to The Hoo Hah, at half midnight last night / this morning.
I haven’t actually switched to them yet because I’m not due to order just yet, but I will be doing, top customer service all round 💪

Arglefraster · 15/08/2025 19:53

Hello all
I've been awol (from MN not just you lovely lot - every so often I get freaked out by the idea that the people in my phone are real 😵‍💫🤣 & hide).

Congratulations on all the amazing scale & non scale victories 🎉🎉🎉 you know how I love a NSV! my favourite is from a month ago when I couldn't work out why my tissues (hayfever!!) kept falling out of my sleeve - my arms are smaller than my sleeves 😲
My SV is being down 30kg (weirdly though I'm in some smaller tops I'm in the same trousers albeit in danger of falling down)

The giant wotsit has totally screwed us over huh?! I'm an idiot & don't keep any reserve at all & was due to order my next pen today so I only I have one (bonus) dose remaining & of course my supplier is sold out 😭 but they have a delivery early next week so 😬🤞🤞🤞

Really panicking about the money but DH is determined that being totally broke is worth it for me being so much happier - I'm not sure as it's an expensive time with teens needing to learn to drive & education stuff to pay for...

taylorswift1989 · 15/08/2025 20:07

I ordered a pen from Bolt Pharmacy yesterday and got an email today saying orders will take 1 - 2 weeks to deliver. Hopefully they don't cancel my order as they were the cheapest for a 10mg pen. I've been on 7.5mg but I've decided to order a 10 pen and count clicks to 5mg so one 10 pen will last two months. I realise this isn't ideal but if it works then it's a way I can continue to afford it. However 5mg wasn't really working that well for me so it might be a doomed strategy! If it does work to some extent then maybe it will be enough to keep me going until a new and cheaper solution comes along.

I know that these drugs are being developed quite fast and there will soon be tablet versions available. Patents expire (although not til 2032 for MJ) and things change. So I'm really hoping we get a new glp drug that is even better than MJ. I'm just praying I can hold on til then and not put all the weight back on.

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 18:34

Fingers crossed you’re covered! I think it went up between 12.30 and when i posted, so maybe before that is honoured fully!

@Darlinghag I hope so. I've got a new pen to start next week so if all else fails, I'll try somewhere once they refund. The whole thing is so frustrating x

gimmemounjaro · 16/08/2025 08:32

Weigh day for me

SW: 241.2 / 17st 3 / BMI 35.6
CW: 154.5 / 11st 1 / BMI 22.8

Total loss: 86.7 / 6st 3

First week of not actively trying to lose weight and I have lost 1.5 lbs, go figure. I had raised my daily kcal target by 200 so will nudge it up a bit more. I’m aiming to stay in the 150s, although I wouldn’t mind reaching what was my ultimate goal of 150lbs and then shifting the maintenance parameters to 10.5 - 11 stone or 147 - 154 lbs.

My main reason for deciding to ease off the weight loss was not feeling great and needing to start reducing MJ, I wasn’t expecting to carry on losing. I’m now on 7.5mg from 15mg highest and 10mg for a long time, already feeling better so will sit here for a few weeks to finish off the 12.5mg pen I’m using and will then continue to go down the doses. Evidently 7.5mg is effective so maybe a few more lbs will come off in the meantime. I’m hoping I can successfully come off MJ eventually, or at least cope on a very low dose. We shall see.

I hope it’s ok to hang out here still, even though I am edging towards proper maintenance. It’s a lovely group and I’m very invested in everyone’s stories!

Also hope everyone is ok after yesterday’s announcement, it’s a scary time for those of us for whom MJ is a completely life-changing intervention 🫤

Sam187 · 16/08/2025 09:20

Woke up to a refund from Asda, the order isn't showing as cancelled yet, but obviously won't be approved. I guess it's fair that they're prioritising current customers. I'll wait til my reorder date with IQ which is still before 1st and see where we're at. The drama!

Darlinghag · 16/08/2025 11:15

@gimmemounjaro well done!! A great loss!!

@Sam187 Were you an existing customer and what dose? My banking app still says pending, and then still processing on ASDA dashboard, so no clue whats happening. They typically don’t work out of Mon -Fri hours, but wondered if they would this weekend due to the drama?

GiveMeWordGames · 16/08/2025 11:45

Brilliant, well done @gimmemounjaro and please do stick around.

I hope you get your next pen, @Sam187 .

I received a text this morning from my pharmacy about the price rise and saying to make an appt before the end of Aug. Well obviously I'd already done that and it was a round robin text to everyone on MJ but that made me worry about stock levels by the 28th. I had to go into town for something else anyway so I popped in. Luckily the bloke who I see every month was there. He said they're ordering as much as they can but as a small independent chain, fridge space is a problem. He let me buy a 7.5 and a 10 then and there and promised me I could buy another 10 on the 28th. So at the bare minimum I'm good until early December - which is a huge relief.

QueenOfHiraeth · 16/08/2025 12:20

@gimmemounjaro I hope you stick around too. I'm about a stone behind you and watching your reducing dose with interest.

Good God, there are some selfish tw*ts on that other thread. I'm alright Jack thinking at its best and the OP posted some "medical evidence" from Reddit last night then told me (retired clinical professional who posted the correct advice from Eli Lilly) that I was wrong and she was right. I need to learn how to walk away...

I admit I panicked when my provider marked all strengths out of stock so have ordered one pen from a new company who have messaged to say that it may take 1-2 weeks but if I don't get it I don't get it and I'm not rushing out to order loads more.

GiveMeWordGames · 16/08/2025 12:26

@QueenOfHiraeth I saw that. 🙄 She is amazingly annoying and that thread has gone somewhat Lord of the Flies.

gimmemounjaro · 16/08/2025 13:02

I saw that too @QueenOfHiraeth - the advice about switching needles. Quite bizarre that they think they know better!

WeAllHaveWings · 16/08/2025 13:33

Next Target 🎯- 11st 12lbs (BMI 24.9 healthy!)

A neat 1lb loss this week and very happy to see the scales start with a 12 now!.......but tainted with still being pissed off with Eli Lilly, Trump or whoever has caused this shit show 🤬 which is going to so seriously affect so many people.

Being far into my own journey and on lower doses (assuming they keep working for me), I know how fortunate I am and compared to others it might only be a few more quid the lower doses add to my cost every month which I can tweak things and do, but I am still so pissed off for those needing higher doses and being so cruelly priced out. Thinking of you all 💗

AnneinEdinburgh · 16/08/2025 14:53

Apart from all the bad price news, I have finally had a woosshhhhhh and lost 3lbs in 2 days. I have also been to the best aquafit session, there's nothing like starting a working day by bouncing around in a swimming pool singing the Grease soundtrack with a load of lovely ladies. Many of them are older and I want to be like that - they go to 2 or 3 pool based classes every day going from one to another including bikes in the pool doing a water based spinning class. Not sure I'd have the stamina (yet)!

So glad everyone here is so lovely. Hang in there all and hope all the extra pens arrive for you!

Onwards and downwards

xx

Arglefraster · 16/08/2025 15:22

Omg I should ALWAYS check here first I wandered into the price increases thread 🫠

Darlinghag · 16/08/2025 15:47

Well done @WeAllHaveWings !!

Asda now appear to be out of virtually all doses 🤯🤯

no change on my order or payment, and grateful i do have enough for now, because it is stressful!!

can anyone tell me - so i can avoid venturing into that awful increAses thread - are we expecting a long term shortage? Has Eli Lilly slowed distribution? Or is this solely down to panic over the change in price and we will see stock levels return (albeit mega bucks prices) next month?

edit: just did a run through to check what the site would let me order - and i had 2.5, 5 and 7.5 available, no 2/3 pen packs. So i am assuming they have considered unprocessed orders for returning customers.

Mounjaro/Wegovy with > 5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 9!
Slowrunning · 16/08/2025 15:58

I am feeling very relieved as one of the two pens I ordered has arrived. The other order is still pending and they are showing as out of stock so it looks like that one will be cancelled so I am extremely glad I decided to order a back-up.
I am acutely aware of how lucky I am to have had enough money in the bank to order 2 pens (as I am sure it will be a while beore the other one is refunded).
I won't be able to pay over £300 a month, we are already forgoing other things as a family for me to be able to have this opportunity so even though I am still 10kg to goal I will probably start to taper down after my current pen. I was planning to taper down over 6 months and stay on a low dose for at least another 6 months but that plan is going to have to change drastically.

On another note I was out for a meal last night and the hard wooden pew I was sitting on was incredibly uncomfortable on my spine - which now has minimal back fat for padding :-)

GiveMeWordGames · 16/08/2025 16:13

@Darlinghag there's nothing I've read that indicates distribution or manufacturing issues. Right now it's purely excess demand all at once, so the stock isn't there in the pharmacies to cover it immediately.

Sam187 · 16/08/2025 16:15

@Darlinghag I wasn't a returning customer so I suspect that's the issue. I had registered with them previously but decided to go with MedExpress then IQ doctor. I have a new 5mg pen to start on Monday, with golden dose I have 5wks to figure it out. Hopefully the chaos will be over by the next week or so.

Unsure who to even attempt another order with anyway. It's very overwhelming.

@GiveMeWordGames thank you - here's hoping.

Arglefraster · 16/08/2025 16:30

I ordered from oushk as a previous customer but no idea if the order will go through.
I will be refreshing my current pharmacy's page constantly Monday/Tuesday as they say they're due a delivery. They are restricting to current customers and single orders though so I am hopeful (my last dose of MJ is due on Tuesday🤦🏻‍♀️)

As horrific as the price increases are at this point I'm more concerned about not ending up with a 2 week gap & then having to go down doses again...

I think I'll delay Tuesday's jag until ?? Thursday if I don't have a confirmed order yet so that will mean less than 2 weeks until the new September prices when presumably there should be plenty of (£££) stock again - does that sound sensible?

gimmemounjaro · 16/08/2025 16:58

I think there will be plenty of stock in a week or two, but some people will no doubt continue to stock up at the lower prices. I saw someone (not sure which thread) who had four in reserve already and bought two bundles of three pens yesterday, so ten pens in hand!

Darlinghag · 16/08/2025 17:00

Thank you @GiveMeWordGames and @Sam187

@gimmemounjaro you gotta question the logic - if you can afford to buy multiple pens like that - then clearly the price impacts won’t be as challenging for them? Or am I being to innocent and they are whacking a £1000 in meds on a credit card?

gimmemounjaro · 16/08/2025 17:06

Yes that did cross my mind! Plus it does seem to stop working for some people, or side effects can appear randomly, which happened to me with low blood pressure. It does seem a very large and risky investment to me!
