New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

@RobinEllacotStrike neither had i, until i started click counting my dose back earlier in the year, which naturally accumulated a little at a time - mainly for financial reasons and also that mind frame of ‘its controlled, can’t be doing that!’. I always just placed an order pay day, as a standard! I also worry if I stretched it out because of that build up, my provider would question or make me slide down dosage as i hadnt been ordering every 4 weeks etc, hence being proper regimented with my schedule.

ASDA also never had options for more than one pen until now - although they do not allow you to order two of the same dose in the same transaction - it has to be one higher than the other, which is a little odd to me.

I am also surprised that people use multiple providers so easily - I could never afford to anyhow!!

RobinEllacotStrike · 15/08/2025 13:11

"I am also surprised that people use multiple providers so easily - I could never afford to anyhow!!"

exactly - what is to stop someone ordering for a friend who only has a few kilos to lose etc?

QueenOfHiraeth · 15/08/2025 13:19

I confess that since the shortages of higher strengths I have built up a small buffer so always have one in hand. It did work in my favour as there was a month when 12.5 and 15 were simply not available and so I built it back and have continued at that level.
I have no objection to one or two but am seriously pissed off with FB and TT posts saying "I'm so glad I have a stockpile" and showing anything from 4, 5, 6ish through to over a year's supply. It has reinforced my thoughts that this does need closer regulation

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 13:26

@QueenOfHiraeth i hear you, its really frustrating for those who have no chance of buffering themselves in any way. I’ve only ever ordered one a month, until this month, and only placed one additional order, so feel comfortable from the moral perspective, i could not feel good about ordering more than that right nown

@RobinEllacotStrike wild right?? Like I had not thought about it, but sure that happens a lot, especially if providers arent informing gps, like I know mine is not!!!

HumBumBum · 15/08/2025 13:36

Urgh, just had a ‘sorry we have run out’ message from supplier but then 20 mins later ‘we are reviewing your order’.

I’m in such a precarious position, I’ve never let my pens get so low and now might not be able to continue beyond September 😭

RobinEllacotStrike · 15/08/2025 13:54

Just to add to the confusion of today, I put on a size 22 dress this morning & it looks good. I wore this very same dress when I was 6 stone heavier & it fitted me well then too.

I know its about the style etc (woven wrap dress), but its doing my head in. I might have to retire the dress for mental health reasons.

In better news my underwear is size 14. FFS its a crazy game getting dressed some days.

RobinEllacotStrike · 15/08/2025 13:55

fingers crossed for your order @HumBumBum

eleanorwish · 15/08/2025 14:42

I usually order my pen 2 weeks in advance, I’d ordered my 10mg pen the day before the announcement. I’m hoping I can manage on 10 for a while, as I reckon I need another 6 months before I’m a healthy BMI. I could afford the extra, but will find it harder to justify, as it all comes out of family money

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 14:42

Asda have now put this sign up in the last couple of hours.

QueenOfHiraeth · 15/08/2025 14:47

@Darlinghag I'm not perfect but feel I can live with myself too. I have my one buffer pen and panicked yesterday seeing all the out of stock messages online so ordered a 12.5mg pen from a new supplier. It may not get approved or they may have run out by then, who knows, but if I get it I'll use it when I start to reduce my dose down.

@HumBumBum Remember the supplies keep coming in to the providers so, even if they are out of stock now, they may have more arriving next week. My regular provider has marked everything out of stock so nobody can order at all just now but they have told regular customers to Whatsapp them and said they will resume orders when the next stock comes in next week.
Fingers crossed for you
@RobinEllacotStrike I share your confusion and frustration! I have some clothes from my size 24 days that I still wear but am now benefitting from cast-offs from both adult DDs. Last week I acquired some clothes which are anything from 12s to 16s and there is no rhyme or reason to what fits and what doesn't.

I think the one thing this debacle has told me is that I am not as close to my goal as I was convincing myself I am and not quite ready to stop yet. I am older than a lot of you so don't want to get to "ideal weight" as I will look shrivelled but I need to focus, get back to basics, and try to get just a bit lower yet.

Asda have now put this sign up in the last couple of hours.

Well that’s good as they are restricting supplies to the current customers. Shows some loyalty.

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 15:00

@Pumpkinforever yes, i guess so, although they are otherwise remarkably quiet - I had hoped they would send an email out even just acknowledging the news, but nothing yet!

@RobinEllacotStrike well done on the pants!! But i’d say get that dress on vinted if you can, it sounds like a mind melt!!

WeAllHaveWings · 15/08/2025 16:33

@QueenOfHiraeth @AnneinEdinburgh if you have been Oushk customers before/through their verification checks they have just posted an update on facebook which includes below. No further details, but perhaps a little bit of hope.....even if you haven't used Oushk before other suppliers may be getting stocks back in too.

New stock of higher strengths is due early next week, and once it's safely with us, the system will update again and ordering will reopen.

OnwardsDownwards · 15/08/2025 16:36

I don’t plan to stockpile, but I am due to order my next pen and now my current supplier has turned off all their discount codes. Which is frustrating! They normally have a 15% code available. Will have to look around, but I see a lot are going out of stock or restricting themselves to current customers only. Hopefully things calm down in a week or so - luckily I’m not desperate for my next pen.

Oh, that might mean mine is cancelled then. Don't want to try another until it is though, and end up more out of pocket.

InfoSecInTheCity · 15/08/2025 18:23

Sorry I don’t really understand the private ordering process that well, but if you have several months supply won’t there be a prescribing gap between now and the next time you need to order? Will that cause issues for anyone trying to order in 6 months with potentially a BMI under 30 but no continuity of prescriptions.

Sorry everyone having just a crappy couple of days trying to work through this mess!

Edited

I think that can be a potential problem although I saw on the other thread that Oushk are ok if you can explain the gap and evidence all the pens.

I have a couple of pens in hand from early on when I didn’t trust delivery times and got in the habit of ordering at the first reminder. So now when I want to try stopping but with the option to go back on, it’s not easy because from the pharmacy’s pov you stop earlier than you do in reality. So somewhere like Simple Online Pharmacy, which allows a restart within 3 months of your last order, is no good to me now (especially as I plan to eke as many doses out of each pen as I can). But luckily I have found somewhere which is happy to let you restart within a year of your last order, as long as your BMI is healthy or above. So that will give me time to use up my spare pens, be off MJ for a good few months, and still be within the window for restarting if I need to.

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 18:32

@InfoSecInTheCity my plan is that my 2 pen box order will give me two months grace to at least to adjust my budget to fit whatever the new price will be, protect against any shortfall in stock through the mad period and hope and pray that providers will negotiate better prices in the meantime. Ive got some extra costs in other parts of my life this year, and it will help give me some breathing space.

i’m not planning to avoid buying it again til i run out, but i will be able to stretch out my ordering after that 2 month period, say to every 5 weeks instead of 4. It helps I’ve stuck to one provider so they can see how much I’ve ordered so as to know I won’t have been weeks without a dose etc.

its not a perfect well thought out plan, but helps me feel more secure.

Fingers crossed you’re covered! I think it went up between 12.30 and when i posted, so maybe before that is honoured fully!

QueenOfHiraeth · 15/08/2025 18:38

@WeAllHaveWings Thanks but I have never used Oushk. They are always on my list but never got round to using them.
SwiftDoctor and Medicine Marketplace have stock coming next week too.

@InfoSecInTheCity If only suppliers were that diligent! The only time I've had that arise was when clinical friends warned me about the impending shortage of 15mg earlier this year. At that point I used to order 2 x 12.5mg pens at a time but then ordered a 15mg only 2 weeks later so had 3 but it was all the same supplier so I just messaged when I next ordered and they were fine

MooBaggage · 15/08/2025 18:47

@Darlinghag please can you pm me the Asda code - I need to try and order a 7.5mg pen, as it's stressing me out now...

NewbieMJ · 15/08/2025 19:23

Getting caught up and popped on to say Solidarity Sisters (and any brothers). What a shit show.

I am a riding-on-the-seat-of-my-pants MJ orderer. Because no one knows in real life (so don't want them lurking in the fridge when I am not at home) and I have been away (unexpected major family crisis which has taken all my energy and time), I arrived back, got a delivery and injected myself from the package within 5 minutes of it arriving (late - 9 days instead of my usual 7), ....so I am completely stuffed with no back-up pen except the one I have started. I have ordered from Med Express from the start, so hoping when my window of being able to re-order opens (24th August) I can at least order my next pen before the price increase.

Med Express is already eye-wateringly expensive (I stayed for ease of ordering and the fact they use Royal Mail and are speedy at turning it around from order to delivery), so any hike will be ridiculous. I am on 12.5mg and wanted to stay on this for a wee while. I still have just under 3 stones to lose (2 stone 11) so was happy to keep on 12.5 and go up to 15 when I really needed to, then taper down.

Those vicious vipers on the other threads are making me fume. The wonderful world of the naturally slim (not all, obviously) but the slim privileged who go out of their way to bombard the WLI threads with "just eat less and move more, like me...I'm not stick thin cause I like my pizza and wine, so happy with my size 10 body". Well love, you do you...

This thread has got me almost a year on and you are all amazing. We can feel each other's pain and are a genuine support with natural empathy for each other. I really feel for some of the newer members who are embarking on their long journey ahead and now price is an unexpected obstacle. I hope you are all OK>

Finally, is @Crikeyalmighty still here? You were doing low carb and stopped MJ and I wondered of you'd be so kind as to give me an update of how it is going? I recall your posts were inspiring and you were getting good losses. I may well do the same, sooner rather than later.

Darlinghag · 15/08/2025 19:36

ASDA have updated.

No new prices yet though. They are out of stock of both 10 and 12.5mg, and 15mg limited to existing customers.

I am not sure what this means for me. Maybe they have accounted for orders received. I ordered a 12.5 and a 15mg pen, so I did wonder if they would give me my 15mg as I am currently on 10mg pens or will they make me order 7.5mgs. I will only order 1, if thats the case, as I can bump up to 8mg over 4 doses with the golden.

ARGH.
