Mounjaro/Wegovy with > 5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 9!

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

Over 1/3 of the way to target and creeping up to 2stone loss. Hoping to be there by the end of the month. Also saw on my smart scales that my visceral fat has now dropped to 14 from started at 18. More and more of my old 16’s are fitting. Feeling very positive. Need some breakfast now after my walk in the park in the rain.

Good morning all!

Weigh day for me, and as I skipped a proper weigh in last Sunday, we have two weeks to catch up on, and I have lost 3lbs total!! I am now 13st 7.1lbs! That’s .1lb from my interim goal, so am pretty chuffed with that. I’m working towards 13st for my MJ anniversary which is exactly 4 weeks today. It might be a little out of reach, but if I can get as close as I can, I’ll be pleased!

Some things:

  • picked up the adrienne yoga this week - its surprising what I struggled with, like sitting back on my heels, and holding the triangle (i don’t know names, some kind of dog???) pose. We shall persist!
  • i think want to try and find a ten minute beginner workout for arms that i can so along side the yoga - if anyone has any recs, let me know.
  • i think i said back in early february that i bought a Free People dress on Vinted in a size 16. At the time I was probably an 18-20, but FP are notoriously oversized. Except this dress is tiny!! Likely closer to a 12 and at the time, i could not even get the sleeves up my arms!! I tried it on yesterday, and its closer to fitting! I can get my arms in, although its not wearable - and i can get it shut across my belly - but not my boobs. So while its still a couple of stones away from fitting the way it should, its really nice to see the progress!! I’m not sure if Christmas is a viable goal for it, but i would love to wear it then!!

hope everyone is doing well!!

gimmemounjaro · 20/07/2025 11:23

@Darlinghag I’ve done quite a bit of yoga (just booked for this evening actually) and I can’t sit back on my heels for more than a few seconds. I have come to the conclusion that my legs are just not designed for it! 😅

Body shapes are so different, things like whether you can touch your toes with straight legs depends on leg and arm length as well as flexibility. But yoga still works for everyone, you just do what feels good in your body and notice how that changes as you get stronger and more flexible 🧘‍♀️

So I have been on MJ since November and have lost almost 4.5 stone which I am over the moon about. I still have another 2 stone to go but weight loss has slowed right down. I am drinking lots of water, cut carbs, watch calories and get my steps in.

Currently I am on 7.5mg and toying with the idea of going up to 10mg but the thing is that suppression is still good and I have no real side effects. So I was hoping if any of the wise ones on here have any advice? Should I just persevere on 7.5mg and continue slowly or could I give myself a boost towards the finish line?

Pumpkinforever · 20/07/2025 11:30

My finish line is 9 and half stone, not necessarily November. I am one of those who will be taking a maintenance dose for some time given my age and the number of years I have been obese.

How long have you slowed down for? Are you eating enough calories?

Pumpkinforever · 20/07/2025 16:39

According to TDEE calculations my maintenance calorie level is 1882. I am aiming for between 1200 and 1300 calories on average over a week. I am still losing weight but a lot more slowly which is not surprising. So for the past 2 months I reckon a pound a week. It could be if I up my exercise that might fire things up again

QueenOfHiraeth · 20/07/2025 19:50

@Pumpkinforever I might be wrong but I thought you should not go below TDEE - 500 which would be 1382 or about 1400 for you. Some trainers suggest even that level can be too low. Do you think you might be slowing down as your body is starting to conserve energy?

NotsosunnyShropshire · 20/07/2025 20:43

gimmemounjaro · 19/07/2025 13:26

@NotsosunnyShropshire These ones had a bit of a moment on a previous thread, a few of us have them - there’s an app and they measure all sorts of interesting stuff like bone mass and various different types of fat.

They arrived today. Love the set up. Screen and information is clear and easy to read but they weigh about 2lbs heavier than my old ones 😢

Oh well, best get on with it.

Aaargh that’s annoying! 😣

mince3point14159265 · 20/07/2025 23:15

@Pumpkinforever I'm in a very similar position to you and have just done my fourth 7.5mg pen. I spent most of the last month bobbing around the same weight but finally things seem to be shifting again. Thanks to following the progress of the lovely posters on this thread and elsewhere that often post their whole journey of losses, I managed to keep the faith that it was just a plateau and would hopefully pass. Definitely would have given up under any previous diet plan!
I have got a 10mg pen for the next month but I think I will count clicks and go up slowly (can feel food noise creeping back in and less suppression so do think I need a bit of a boost).
I know I will need to stay on it for a while so that my body can get used to being a much lower weight again, so don't feel the need to rush it. If you're still losing and feel happy with everything else, maybe just wait it out a little while?

Pumpkinforever · 21/07/2025 00:27

Yes that’s the thing @mince3point14159265 without MJ I would have given up previously. But I am going to keep buggering on because I want to shift another stone and a half / 2 stone.

I am going to up my breakfast calories a bit @QueenOfHiraeth or add a boiled egg or similar as a snack during the day. I will do a proper calorie count over next week to make sure I am not kidding myself. I think I will use 7.5mg again this month but get a 10mg on order depending what happens in the next couple of weeks,

InfoSecInTheCity · 21/07/2025 06:44

So after a week of much more relaxed eating and this did lean heavily towards carbs I showed an initial gain of 7.5lb, after 2 days of being back on low carb/high protein and lots of water I’m now showing a gain of 3.7 lb. It was interesting because I didn’t have a glucose monitor on but I could feel that my blood sugars were high by the end of the week, I was more tired, I was weeing A LOT despite not drinking anywhere near enough water and feeling urgency to wee, I was also more irritable and shorter of temper. Got home Friday, and went back to better eating and drinking as of Saturday morning, looking forward to seeing what happens on the scales this week and have decided that while croissants, cherry scones and seaside chips are delicious things they really aren’t worth the end effects to me so for the next holiday I will find ways to have a better balance.

Hi, Please can I join? Started Mounjaro at the end of March and am 2lb away from a 3 stone loss. Only just starting to fit into a smaller clothes size though.

I have just moved up to 7.5 and have around 3 and a half stone to go until my initial goal of 11 stone (although ideally I will lose another stone on top of this to get to my ideal goal).

Not much of a poster but do like to follow others journeys and cheer them on from the sidelines 🙂

gimmemounjaro · 21/07/2025 08:21

Welcome @Mounjarogirl25, sounds like you are doing really well 💪

MooBaggage · 21/07/2025 08:27

@InfoSecInTheCity Seaside chips are the best! There's a brilliant chippy in Cromer that does gluten free fish and chips and you can eat in at it - I went a few weeks ago and was back there again last week - just so delicious....

I'm also back in the groove and the scales are showing another 2lbs loss this morning 😀 So I have finally hit a loss of 4 stone (and 1lb!) and have lost 20% of my body weight - hurrah!

Next aim - to get in the 15 stones - am now 16 stone 2lbs, so am hopeful I'll see the 15s in the next couple of weeks 💪

Hello! You're very similar to me. I started on 24th March and am 4lbs off a 3 stone loss, with a goal between 11-12stone. Sounds like you're doing really well!

And on that note. It's jab day today, I'm back to my normal Monday.

It'll be my first proper 7.5 dose (second from the pen but I split the first one) so we shall see how things go but I definitely want to change things up a bit. I've only lost .75lb since last week's whoosh but it makes 4lb in total over the last two weeks so that's ok.

Amazing, well done 👏

Feeling more suppression with 7.5, I jabbed Saturday night and didn't feel hungry at all yesterday. I am going on holiday in 2 weeks so wondering whether to drop my jab back down to 5 for that week so I can at least enjoy the lovely food, just eat less of it. Will see how the suppression is over the next couple of weeks...

Shouldn’t thatCW be 14.8 if you’ve lost just under 3 stone? Fabulous job!

Oh, bollocks, thank you, yes!😂 Clearly my brain still thinks I'm a stone heavier than I am. It's too late to edit now.

Do any of you take a creatine supplement? I had always associated it with alarmingly ripped bodybuilders but I've been reading about the benefits for women in particular and have started taking it. I've been warned to expect a slight gain on the scales but that this will be water weight.

Fabulous! Don’t swizz yourself out of a stone. 🤣
very well done. I only noticed because what you’d written is almost where I started/am, and I was wishing it was 3 stones! But I’ll get there.

MooBaggage · 21/07/2025 10:37

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping I got some creatine from Nutrition Geeks and have been taking it for about 2 months now.

I have no idea if it's doing me any good or making a difference though! I got that and their Collagen powder - take them both every day and thought I'll take them for a few months - but of course I'm losing weight and getting fitter anyway, so who knows?!

@InfoSecInTheCity its interesting to see body changes due to diet so clearly, isnt it??

I took my jab last night and today started my period. I think this might be the first time I’ve had the two coincide quite so closely - and gosh I am feeling it!! I haven’t had MJ side effects for a while, as I’ve been on between 7.5-8mg since October, but today I’m dizzy, tired and nauseous. Bleurgh.
