New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

@RobinEllacotStrike I'm feeling very virtuous now - blueberries, strawbs, raspberries and blackcurrants are all in my morning smoothies 😇

Fuck me, my hysteroscopy was AWFUL 😥 I was doing OK, but she found a polyp and had to take a biopsy/remove it. It was sooooo painful... I had gas and air, but had a bit of a reaction to it all and ended up fainting - take the shame!!

So I'm taking the rest of the day off sick - day time TV and painkillers it is 👌

QueenOfHiraeth · 21/07/2025 13:22

@MooBaggage Poor you! I had a hysteroscopy a while back with gas and air which hurt but, luckily, for a very short time. It is very common to faint after anything footling about with the uterus apparently so you cosset yourself, you deserve it
@RobinEllacotStrike I love kiwis but just cannot bring myself to eat the skin. I'm really funny with textures and they are a step too far!

gimmemounjaro · 21/07/2025 13:25

I agree re the skin but fully signed up to Kiwi Klub otherwise. Love those little green fellas. Unfortunately the kiwi quality in my local supermarket is very poor but the greengrocers usually have some good ones.

CanIGoHomeNowPlease · 21/07/2025 13:49

I bloody love my kiwis in the morning - I chase down my marine collagen capsule which is awful with them.
I can't bring myself to eat the skin and I also hate them when they are too ripe. I like a hard kiwi!!

I've had a shocker of a week, lack of planning and not having food ready to go has meant I've made some poor choices, coupled with a nasty infected bite on my leg which has prevented walking - but I'm back on it now!

I also forgot to jab Thursday and then Friday - jabbed Saturday morning in the end - what a numpty.

My son has just finished year 6 and its all been a bit manic.

I stayed the same when I weighed last week. Hoping to maintain this week again. Would be nice to actually hit the 5st lost mark!

SW 20st 9lbs
CW 15st 9.6lbs
GW ?? ?? ??

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/07/2025 14:42

My current lot of 🥝🥝 are VERY furry so no way I’m eating the skin. But I will eat the smooth skin.

grizzly bear 🐻 types I do not eat the skin.

my daughter is on quite high doses of iron so she is also on the 🥝🥝 plan with success.

InfoSecInTheCity · 21/07/2025 14:44

I have tried on several occasions to have kiwis in the house, the golden ones with the thin skin, but they seem to magically disappear within minutes of arriving in my kitchen before I can get them to my mouth. DH and DD both do innocent eyes and claim they didn’t realise they were for me but I have my suspicions!

MabelSpan · 21/07/2025 15:08

Hi everybody! How are you all doing?

I havent been on here for a while, I am really forgetting that I am on MJ, if it werent for my alarms, I wouldnt remember to jab at all!
Last week I had a little 0.6lb gain.

This weeks weigh in is...
SW - 20st 3lbs (Aug 24)
CW - 14st 8.4lbs
WL - 1.6lbs
Average wkly loss now 1.6lbs.
Best news is that today my BMI turned to 29.9! I am just fat, not obese, woohoo!😆
43.4lbs to get to what I think will be my goal. Easy! Haha😄

MabelSpan · 21/07/2025 15:09

I eat the skin on kiwi but I scrape the worst of the hairs off with a knife first.

mince3point14159265 · 21/07/2025 15:37

Sorry to hear that @MooBaggage , sounds painful; take care and hope you're feeling better soon 💐

MooBaggage · 21/07/2025 16:00

@MabelSpan woohoo!!! That is brilliant! What a moment 😍

Congratulations on being overweight - 32lbs until I join you there 😁

By which point you will be positively willow-y (my greatest ambition 😀)

I blooming love kiwi but I became allergic to it a few years ago. I'm struggling with 💩 so I bought a kiwi this week and I'm going to try a spoonful to see what happens. Maybe I've grown out of the sherry 🤞🤷‍♀️

52soon · 21/07/2025 16:19

@MooBaggage very brave getting through hysteroscopy, etc. I had the same attempted last month without gas and air offered and I had to stop it, it was so painful ended up getting it done under general 2 weeks ago in day surgery. Definitely a few days with daytime tv needed, I was exhausted the day after so take it easy.

I hope you are feeling better at the end of this day @MooBaggage and a good nights sleep resets you for the rest of the week.

Love the sound of your amazing smoothie!

Well done to all in 🥝🥝club!

Those golden kiwis are ££ and delicious and lovely & smooth @InfoSecInTheCity and they also disappear almost immediatly if I buy them. The red kiwis are also nice if you see any - not really red, more red-ish.

I've known a few people with kiwi fruit allergies. Maybe there is another fruit you can use as an internal body brush that you can tolerate better? Apples are also very high in fiber

RobinEllacotStrike · 21/07/2025 19:53

for those struggling with regularity, for whom the 🥝🥝 don't appeal or don't work, you could try this:

https://www.mynewroots.org/2013/02/the-life-changing-loaf-of-bread/

Super easy to make, yummy, and it freezes too (slice it first). This also guarantees regularity for me - I think its all the flaxseeds. I make it with almonds not hazelnuts but as long as the quantites are roughly in balance you can mix & match the ingredients. I like pumpkin seeds in mine.

This plant-based, gluten-free, Life-Changing Loaf of Bread has appeared on the plates of thousands of readers and is a staple in my home too!

Ooh @RobinEllacotStrike ! Love the look of that; will have to try!

alltablenochairs · 21/07/2025 23:56

For those of you who like a lot of kiwis, pomegranates or indeed other fruit have a look at crowdfarming.

I buy boxes of fruit from there. Currently got a load of sliced lemons in the freezer ready to go in drinks. I've also brought pomegranates and mangos before. The mangos might seem a bit pricy but they are usually organic and the taste is absolutely epic. Especially sucking the juice from the stone which is my prize. Any that dont get eaten in one go get sliced and dried (I have a food dryer) allegedly for future use but fat chance if they last that long. Pomegranates can be a bit hit or miss however I have had consistently good ones from a farm called 'Verger d'Alicia'. Only snag is you're usually buying things in 2.5kg/5kg boxes but thats not a problem in this house.

Mandolin slicers make swift work of slicing up 5kg lemons to freeze but a chain mail glove (Amazon!) is an absolute must. Ask me how I know this.....

alltablenochairs · 22/07/2025 00:08

Been a bit quiet here. Not much has been happening weight loss wise since I moved up to 15mg however there are a few reasons for that. Its been scorchingly hot recently, autoimmune health thing is active at the moment, school holidays (I have a 12 year old with complex special needs), the whole world seems to want me work-wise, and some other stuff.
However I am noticing changes in other ways. One of my favourite pairs of trousers is getting very loose, my all-time fave cardie is miles too big for me now and I've had to adjust my wheelchair again to make it smaller.

For those that have been here a while they might remember the Killer dress saga. Back at the start-ish of my MJ journey I brought a vvvvvvvv expensive silk dress in a size I hadn't been since my teens. This was for a family wedding. Wishful thinking because the dress didn't fit me. I ended up taking a selection of killer dresses from my wardrobe. Well I now need an epic killer dress for an awards ceremony of DH's in the autumn. They've gone out of their way to make it accessible (including hiring a properly accessible toilet in a converted horsebox!) so I'm absolutely going. However silk killer dress wouldn't be suitable- I'd freeze to death for starters because its a summer dress. So time to start looking for an epic killer dress...... Not sure what size to buy though, thats thr problem. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease MJ gods do their thing.

MooBaggage · 22/07/2025 07:41

Ooooh @alltablenochairs a posh do! An epic killer dress is definitely needed! When in the Autumn, roughly? Would the summer killer dress not be a possibility with thermals underneath and a wrap?

Not that I want to remove the excuse to dress shop, obvs 😀

My epic killer dress will not be used for my son's graduation tomorrow sadly - it's still too small and it's also a summer dress and it's looking very likely to fling it down all day tomorrow in Sheffield!

Some non scale victories!!

Did a small Simply Be order (I can’t stop shopping there yet, I’ve not caught up with the fact I can buy clothes in most regular shops!!) and…
Size 16 dresses fit!!
And a size 14 top!!
I also picked up my favourite black drawcord trousers - now, I have bought these in a size 22 and replaced them at every size drop. Been wearing 18s for a while and think they are a bit big now, size 16 was out of stock, and I decided to try a 14, not expecting them to fit yet (apron belly means I am still in an 18 in most trousers/jeans, 16 in some drawcord styles!!) and they are on!!! I mean, too tight and i won’t wear them out, but I will be in them in about a stone’s time if I had to guess!!

WeAllHaveWings · 22/07/2025 19:21

@Darlinghag I have the same henley pintuck/swing t-shirts from Yours which hide my b-belly in sizes 26-28 right down to 18 now, and Next shape jeans from size 22 down to 16 (considering buying the 14s now as next target) 😂

I think dh is entirely confused why I am getting thinner but the same clothes are shrinking to fit me 😂 I have no idea where to shop for clothes either 🙈

I bought some baby clothes for my great-niece last year from M&S (pre Mounjaro) and they came with two pack of size 14 leggings and multipack of size 14 knickers I didn't order. Phoned M&S and they said keep them so I had been trying to give them away but never got around to it and stuck them in a cupboard. They fit! Never wore leggings before as always preferred the security of denim holding me in - they are so comfy around the house!

NotsosunnyShropshire · 22/07/2025 19:53

I noticed today that I can feel my femur/thigh bone when I put my hand on my thigh when I sit down.

I also noticed several days ago, that I had kind of a crease in my thigh in a part that doesn’t bend. Here’s hoping it’s my fat going weird and squishy before a slight whoosh!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 22/07/2025 20:21

Sorry to hear @MooBaggage. You are very brave.
Lots of Kiwi talk but I too am sadly allergic. I can tolerate a few bites but mouth blisters.
Needing the magnesium supplements currently, they seem to help mornings.

Feeling overall progress is slow. Finishing my second 7.5mg pen this week but have had a major stall here for 3-4 weeks. I know body is adjusting but I am feeling inpatient. Got the scales moving again this week by 1kg but no other NSV either so but disappointed. I definitely need to do more exercise, wish there was a motivation jab for that!

MooBaggage · 22/07/2025 21:36

Eugh. I have to have another hysteroscopy in 2 weeks' time 🙄 They need to remove the polyp as they didn't get all of it. I'm thinking about phoning them back tomorrow to ask to be listed for a spinal block, as I really don't want to go through it again 😔

Sorry - not about weight loss!

I seem to have lost another lb this week - really having a whoosh after a few weeks of not much at all! So that's 58lbs in total - can't believe I'm nearly at 60lbs 😊
