Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

Flip I've lost the weight of a car tire. Can't believe I've been lugging that around and the rest.

No one has noticed a thing. I feel maybe my jeans are looser, that's about it.

Nearly 7 weeks done I think. Or is it 8 I've lost count.

AlicesMum2025 · 24/06/2025 18:43

@Gingercar I agree. I think people have this idea that WLIs just melt the fat away and that we don't have to make any changes to our diet or lifestyle. That's where the perception that it's 'cheating' comes from. But what are we cheating? Is there a set of rules that we're not following? Is against a law?

The accusation that we'll just put all the weight back on when we come off them is also ridiculous. Like no-one who was ever on any kind of diet in the history of the world has ever put the weight back on!

The 'eat less, move more' brigade are also completely oblivious to the fact that moving more when you're very heavy actually hurts. My weight has given me a bad knee and almost constant pain so what am I supposed to do? Hike Everest? Swim the English channel? Join a football club? Give over! Some days just walking the dog is an feat.

Yes, now that the pain in my knee is less from a 1st 10lb loss I have begun gentle exercise. But it took WLI and a lot of effort watching my food and water intake to get to this point.

Only DH knows I'm on MJ and he is supportive. For me, my medical treatment is no one else's business.

Gingercar · 24/06/2025 19:12

I think there are people who do eat smaller, unhealthy meals on MJ that perhaps tell everyone and still lose weight. I think it’s probably them that give us all the “not doing anything” image. I also think they’ll be the ones who put it back on quickly.

Ive got to go to a “pre diabetic clinic” on Thursday. It will be interesting what they say/think. I’m 16.5lbs down on when they signed me up. I kinda hope they do blood sugars again. And afterwards I’m going out for a meal for my birthday and again on Saturday and Monday (might be a difficult week!)

LessWeightKate · 24/06/2025 20:14

I lost you losers for a while! 😅 Lots of posts to catch up on but great to see so many familiar names still posting.

I'm halfway to my goal of a healthy BMI, which blows my mind. 3.75 has been such a great (and cost effective) dose for me. Long may that last, but I have another 5mg pen ready to go, and I won't be heartbroken if I need to move up next month.

If anyone has already moved up from 3.75 to 5, how did it go for you? I dread getting brain fog again!

Seahorsesplendour · 24/06/2025 21:00

Welcome back @LessWeightKate couple of old familiars have name changed too so lots of us still here!!

I didn’t have any SE going from 2.5 to 3.75 and had better but still minimal suppression.

Went to 5mg last week (due 2nd dose tomorrow) and suppression increased massively! It’s only been last 2 days I’ve been able to eat happily!!

No really bad SE but lots of low level nausea particularly in the mornings! I didn’t have any on 2.5.

seems to be very individual!!

I’m planning to stay on 5 for my 3rd pen but holding off ordering just to see how this week goes!!

Gingercar · 24/06/2025 21:04

I did 4mg last week at the end of my 2.5mg pen. It’s had no extra effect on me at all, just like the 2.5mg. I have a little suppression, I can eat loads, but don’t think about food all the time. I think it’s great like that really. I hope it stays that way for the whole journey.

Mounjour · 24/06/2025 21:05

I've only told DP, but have mentioned my weight loss success to a couple of people and I feel bad about not telling them how I've done it. They believe me because they can see me fasting, eating well, eating smaller portions, dodging the biscuits etc.

Still sooo tired, but not as bad as last night. I was nodding and too tired to read but just couldn't quite drop off. DP thinks it was anxiety (that's the cause of his bad insomnia, worrying about work), and I think he maybe right.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 24/06/2025 21:47

Knackered here. Managed another walk tonight. Knee is faring really well, I can almost walk normally. Amazing really.
Got stuck in my head a bit today, my brain was suggesting I forget about all this and go back to drinking every day, and what if the weight loss stops, or what if I lose weight but stay the same size.
Luckily I have several things in my favour:

  1. I now loathe beer
  2. Wine makes my acid indigestion worse, so I'd rather not have any half the time (huge improvement)
  3. I found the picture I used for my Mounjaro application in January. (I wish I'd started in January but never mind, got there in the end). I'm looking forward to posting a Before / During comparison. I'm really quite surprised at what I looked like.
SussexLass87 · 24/06/2025 22:06

Evening all

Can't tell you how useful it is reading all your posts and news. It keeps me focused and thinking about making healthy choices.

Hmm, she says whilst eating a (small) bowl of icecream 🤣 But, I'm having a little treat as I'm super relieved that my period just started which explains the random tiredness, aches and sore boobs of the last few days. Also the random bursting into tears!

Again, my period has shifted 2 weeks from it's usual dates. After being regular as clockwork for years. I'm always fascinated by the different ways that MJ works on our bodies.

Usually it's a time that I go mad for anything sweet, but a small bowl has satisfied that itch.

Hope you're all okay and having nice evenings 😊

Apprenante · 24/06/2025 22:11

I'm not sure if this a NSV or a SE but my very achey knee (had been very uncomfortable for a few months) stopped aching after the first week on MJ and still doesn't hurt at all. I don't think it can be a coincidence.

I love MJ !

Hi all I am the same I have only told my partner about my injections. I am trying not to make a big deal of the weight loss & I have 11 lbs so far. I seem to be stuck now & haven’t lost anything in 2 weeks. I stayed on the 2.5 jab as I was worried about the SE. I have a 5 jab ready. I am injecting tonight & wondering whether to miss the last does of the 2.5 & move up to the 5. I would love to hit the full stone loss. I have read you shouldn’t use 2 pens as I thought I could use up the 2.5 for pen 1 & then another 1.75 or 2.5 from pen 2. Any advice appreciated?

I can't comment about mixing two pens, sorry.
I plateaued for two weeks but now the weight is gradually shifting again. I'm about 6 weeks in and have stuck to 2.5 mg (I'm actually injecting less than this each week). 🤞 for you!

SutekhsEars · 25/06/2025 08:14

I just had a sneaky mid-week weigh-in and I'm a stone down! I'm content to lose gradually, although I also want to be a skinny bitch right now!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/06/2025 08:17

Morning @surviving45. I can only think the concern around using two pens is being completely sure of the combined dose, and ensuring you follow the instructions with both (priming, hygiene).
It would make sense to use up the 2.5mg pen and start the 5mg one with a micro dose.

@SussexLass87 Your post made me smile last night, it was so relatable. Hope you have a lovely day.

Woken up in a more positive mood today. Still feel slightly out of control of my life - waiting on completion date before we can apply for new schools. I don't know the area we are moving to so it's either a wonderful adventure or scary depending on the day.

I've become pretty focused/obsessed with my skincare routine. I have bought a few extra products to add to my routine and it gives me a lift to sit and go through multiple steps. It sounds so vapid written down. It's almost like a hobby now, looking online at reviews. I didn't do any skincare until May this year and now I have shelves full of stuff.

It's expensive but still nowhere near what I was spending on alcohol I suppose.

The single mindedness of it reminds me of when my dad was sick a few years ago, I became obsessed with cushions and artificial flowers. Redecorated like a motherfucker. It looked totally inappropriate. My mum was aghast. Brains are weird things.

Anyway, if you need me I'll be sitting with my shrine to the Ordinary, Clarins, Nip + Fab, Clinique, Medik8, Ren (RIP) and Emma Hardie gibbering about my dark circles and retinal.

Bundleflower · 25/06/2025 08:26

GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING ALL!!

Imagine my surprise why I peeped with one eye at the scales this morning to find I’ve lost 4 pounds over the last few days. Total loss now over a stone and 39% of my goal 1 which is to to be ‘just’ overweight and not obese 😅

I’m elated.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 25/06/2025 08:51

@Sutekhsears Congratulations and @Bundleflower congratulations! We'll have to rename the thread The Skinny Minnies at this rate! Love it.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 25/06/2025 08:51

Argh… another day and no loss. It’s been 9 days and I’ve stayed the same. I’ve defiantly been in calorie deficit and I’ve been eating basically the same as I have previous weeks where I had good losses. Hope it comes off in a woosh soon but I’m starting to feel quite annoyed with it. I thought maybe it was the hot weather but it is more manageable now. Just venting really. I haven’t been taking the full 2.5mg dose as I’ve had SE but I might try upping my dose a bit to see if that helps. SE is an unpleasant feeling like I have something stuck in my throat (been to docs and have another appointment in a weeks time if it is still bothering me). I think I will split the 2.5mg dose in an effort to avoid big spikes but still increasing my dose. I only took 1mg on Monday. Just venting really, I never had plateaus when I dieted before it just came off steadily.

Hi thanks for the advice I will see how brave I am this evening when I jab.

BTW I am improving my skin care routine & the Q10 stuff form Aldi is so cheap & really good. It has definitely improved my mid-40s skin so worth a try & at £1.65 a pot you haven’t lost much if you don’t like it!

I had weeks and I mean weeks without a loss. I was really giving up hope but it’s started to shift again now. Trust the process - I was in despair a few days ago x

Redsparklybucket · 25/06/2025 09:34

Am feeling rubbish today - I'm hoping my crappy scales are totally bonkers as this morning it says I am above my starting weight.

I was feeling pretty low after only loosing 4kg in the first 4 weeks, (some people I know have lost 12lbs in the first week) I am defiantly in calorie deficit I'm am eating protein, fruit etc and drinking loads of water. I have also been walking over 2 miles a day.

I've chucked the scales in the shed ready to be recycled and not going to weigh in until I go to the pharmacy in 2 weeks to get my new pen - I'm on 5mg and have taken 2 doses.

The only SE I have been having is slight constipation and tiredness also insomnia - so that's working well - I'm peri menopausal also - just having a pity party at my desk today!

But I will keep going - trust the process and keep taking inspiration from this thread.

Apprenante · 25/06/2025 09:36

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I'm in awe of your skin care regime. I envisage you sitting in a 1940s film set, surrounded by lotion, potions and frills.

Apprenante · 25/06/2025 09:43

@Redsparklybucket and @Lifetheuniverseandeverything42 Maybe trust the system and just carry on? So many people have posted about being stuck and then - for no clear reason -seeing the scales move again. I think you're rather brave to throw yours in the shed for recycling @Redsparklybucket cket . I'm totally scale dependent.

they had to go in there - because I was obsessing, weighing each time I went to the loo and getting more and more annoyed that each weigh in changed by 3-4lbs, they were obviously faulty but they don't need to be winking at me every time I go for a wee!

Kbr22 · 25/06/2025 09:58

@Redsparklybucket @lifetheuniverseandeverything42 I am exactly the same no loss for 2 weeks. 2 weeks into my second pen and I have realised that I have lost 1kg in that time so trying to stay positive and keep going. My daughter told me to ban the scales but can’t do it!
