Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool That's amazing. You've lost pretty much twice what I have! Do you mind me asking your age and height? (I'm 46, 5ft 6. I seemed to have lost half an inch this year already).

I am 41, and 5’2.5” (the half is very important!!)

Mounjour · 28/06/2025 11:38

Thank you! (And hang on to that half an inch, I was careless with mine).

Seahorsesplendour · 28/06/2025 12:18

Have had a bit of a realisation this morning, I’ve struggled this week wanting to eat more, sweet cravings, lack of motivation to exercise.

suddenly realised every time I have lost weight in the last 18 years I have stalled at 2 st and started gaining again at that point (or there about!!) I’m there now and I think my body is so stuck in this routine it’s pushing back!!!

i am feeling very grateful for MJ today as Altho I have been eating a little more and had a couple of treats, it’s nothing compared to what I would have done previously!!

so today knowledge is power and I am fighting back!! Did a work out upped my water again and planned lovely protein filled meals for the day that are healthy but also tick the treat box for me!!

so I’m breaking my 2st nemesis this week!!! Onwards & Downwards!!

@Mounjour SNAP! I am also 46 and 5’6”! Going to go back and see all your stats now and see how we compare. I started at 228.6lb and this weeks weigh in was 214.6 after 5 weeks.

thank you everyone for your well wishes on my SE night last night - thank you! It was a bit rough, woke up a few times in the night with the ‘d’ bit, seemingly calming down now. You guys are amazing.

who’d have thought I’d get so much lovely support from a group of strangers when I feel the need to keep this a secret from real life people. Grateful for you guys!

ElsieJay · 28/06/2025 13:41

@AccidentalPrawnYouFool Congratulations on your weight loss, absolutely marvellous !
@Seahorsesplendour I’m sure our bodies have a “sticking point “ - found the same when I was going to WW. Eventually got past it but very frustrating at the time.
@HKG - I’m a “secret stabber” too , agree that this thread has been invaluable and very supportive .

Hahaha apparently you are taller in the morning and shrink throughout the day, try after you wake up tomorrow you might find it!

Mounjour · 28/06/2025 14:12

@HKG I've looked at my spreadsheet and converted to pounds. I think I started at just below 195lb last May, 184 on the MJ beginning of this April and currently 167lb.

who’d have thought I’d get so much lovely support from a group of strangers when I feel the need to keep this a secret from real life people. Grateful for you guys!

I second this too!

Apprenante · 28/06/2025 16:04

And I third it!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 28/06/2025 18:09

Right. Give me a glass of wine.

I've had a really busy day. The kids are tired and have been winding each other up no end. I've done a fair bit but according to my fitbit, I've barely done anything. It is encouraging me to do some exercise! I'm bloody knackered! Not like my fitbit has been negotiating a peace treatise with miniature versions of itself all day, has it? Carried a bag of litter the same weight as a medium-sized child from one end of Pets At Home to the other? Emptied, washed and refilled several litter trays?
Done the dishwasher twice? Harangued tiny people to enrichment in sticky hot weather?
And all of this whilst maintaining a pretty nice up do and nice make up?

Could cheerfully glue my fitbit to the back of the car. Arse. Do some ruddy exercise indeed.

Mine have been squabbling all afternoon. A stranger just stopped their car because they were so concerned about the howling child in my front garden.
I'm trying to work out why the exotic pet is about to die. Every time I find some useful information someone starts screaming.
They are teenagers. We should have grown out of this 10 years ago. 😓
I'm hot & grumpy and don't want to have to cook dinner.

chergar · 28/06/2025 19:24

Weekly check in
2nd 5mg jab today
no SE except tiredness all day
NSV - was shopping last night in local shopping centre and walked the full length at quite a pace and wasn’t out of breath or had to stop halfway for a rest as I did a few weeks ago. Went into one of the stores which had exercise equipment, asked dh to lift a kettlebell and told him that is roughly what I’ve lost, he was shocked 🤣
body wise I feel a bit more squidgy in my stomach area, not as solid as it was, also my waist is starting to make an appearance, and strangely my fingernails are stronger and growing better.

losses so far
wk1 - 6.8
wk2 - 4.2
wk3 - 4.6
wk4 - 2.6 (period)
wk5 - 6.3
total 24.5 (11kg)

tostaky · 28/06/2025 19:38

sorry to hear about unreasonable children, i left mine with DP today (i went to a work conference) and apparently they had a fantastic day… they never seem to have a fantastic day with me!!!
Tonight we are going out and DP who has started the jab a week later than me, has lost more than i have done…. Plus it really shows that he has lost weight and he is wearing a nice polo that used to be too small for him.
i, on the other hand, still cannot fit in my white jeans or in my pretty dresses…. Im wearing one of my “fat” dress (potatoe bag) urgh! Im happy for him, but feeling a bit dejected…
I cant even say : after a couple of drinks, i’ll be fine as i seem to have gone off alcohol!
rant over!!!! Have a lovely evening all

PinkScot · 28/06/2025 19:56

Loving reading all your messages! I’m on jab day today fourth week of five mg and was very hungry yesterday, still felt hungry today and got a subway sandwich at the shopping centre. Spent ages googling the calories and chose a turkey and ham as it was 317 cals then sat down to eat it and only managed 2 of my 6 inches! I was sooo disappointed I had been really looking forward to it as well 😂. Thank you Mounjaro but also thank you because you are keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Today is "demon child" day apparently. I am sat here with a gin after a horrible day with my 3 year old DS. Nice meal out....tantrum, nice trip to his favourite place...tantrum!

26dX · 28/06/2025 20:04

@tostaky why is it so much easier for men to lose weight! I just have a sniff of cake and put on 5 pounds!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 28/06/2025 20:40

I’m another 46yr 5ft6, there seem to be quite a few of us. Starting weight 217lbs. I usually measure in kg but checking in lb and I am now 199.3lb which is nice to be under 200lb. My next target is to get under 14st which is another 1.5kg away. I like having these mini targets but the 200lb one completely passed me by.

Seahorsesplendour · 28/06/2025 20:42

My ds (7) has been attached to me today no squabbling which is great but just constantly within arm length I was very ready for bed time!!

must be the heat making them all a little crazed!!! 😂

off to see family tomorrow and they are cooking us a roast!! I’m a little worried about the lack of control if I’m honest!!! So we’ll see how it goes!!

must move now. & get the jobs done I’d normally do tomorrow night done as will be bavk late but mostly I want to go to bed!

MissFizzyPop · 28/06/2025 21:37

I'm another 5"6 46 year old! Going up to 5mg this Thursday after five 2.5mg doses. I've lost 8.4lbs - it's a revelation being able to stick to controlled calories but I'd hoped after 4 weeks and 3 days to have lost more...

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 28/06/2025 22:23

Ugh, ended the day with my daughter shouting 'I hate you!' And my partner murmuring 'I hate you too' under his breath like a right prat.
Just had to spend time talking to my daughter about her behaviour and then talking to my partner. He only got out of bed at 4pm! How can he rise from his pit at tea time and then make snarky remarks? Knob.

He's gone off downstairs in a wounded tantrum now after speaking to him about today.

People, honestly. But not you lot, you lot are ace.
Here's hoping tomorrow brings us reasonable and pleasant children, and the same in partners. Awake ones!

I don't know what it's like where you are, but it's just too hot here today. Everyone is grumpy.
Particularly my long-haired black cat!

I've just ordered the plain soy one. Thanks

Ooh, I'm not loving this! I've put it in my porridge and it's not going down well. Any suggestions? Or do I just consider it medicine and try not to think about it?
@notgonnafail

dizzyupthegirl86 · 29/06/2025 07:34

@SutekhsEars i might have missed some context but Huel do an unflavoured unsweetened product. It’s designed as a meal replacement rather than a protein powder so I don’t know if you’d add it to things, but it’s 30-40g of protein a serving

after my mini stall earlier in the week, I’ve weighed in 2lb lighter than last Sunday so I’m super pleased!

@SutekhsEars The plain soy isolate does take a bit of getting used to and may not be for everyone or be added to every meal option. You need something with it to mask the taste a bit. I use 3 different options for different things: I add the collagen one to porridge; meal replacement one to yoghurt; and the soy isolate to smoothies or add into a baked oats recipe with blueberries. As I said, unfortunately you do need to try a few to find out the ones that work for you, and in what ways.
