Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

Re protein, I use vanilla powder mixed with water as the base for a frozen fruit smoothie for breakfast. Today was 24.6g protein.

I normally just use regular frozen fruit but Aldi do a protein one which contains chia or flax, plus pea protein, so that could bump it up even more. There's a berry one and another with mango and pineapple.

Unflavoured protein powder world work as a smoothie base too.

Add some Greek yoghurt to the smoothie for another protein boost.

For yoghurt, always go with Greek or skyr for maximum protein.

Eggs are a good source. I prefer to use them in an omelette with a small amount of cheese and lean ham. If I use 2 eggs I can get over 30g protein.

Hi everyone, end of Week 8 here and it's definitely been a week. Awful stomach for 3 days straight, thought the world was ending. Am not a fan of that side effect even if the lbs drop!

So finally hit a stone loss after 8 weeks 🙌 Very slow compared to many but that just seems to be the road I'm on!

Have decided not to do jab 9 today as I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a few days and am worried about the diarrhoea returning so I'll style out any hunger issues for the next 5 days and then restart once I'm back. This jab is the gift that keeps on giving 🤣

Well done to everyone on good losses! 👍

@SutekhsEars I know you didn't ask me but you know I'm a chatty bugger.

I tried the following, from worst to best:

https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/whey-protein-vanilla-900g-6100004690 - Vanilla whey protein, it's like a milkshake to drink. Disgusting. Absolutely gross. However, we now use the protein powder to cook with and it adds a lovely flavour to pancakes.

https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/clear-whey-isolate-peach-tea-244g-6100004985 - Peach tea clear protein - this is bloody lovely, just like a glass of peach tea. Flavour is really nice and it mixes well.

https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/dose-co-pure-collagen-283g-60061949 - Collagen protein for hair and skin. This is 'unflavoured' - I can taste it but it's easy to get used to, I add it to coffee. Some add it to porridge and can't taste it at all. I think this is great, nice and easy.

Thank you, that is incredibly helpful. I’m using Applied Nutrition protein in vanilla and it’s also really horrible. I’m going to give the peach tea a try.

Gingercar · 27/06/2025 15:37

I’m veggie. According to Voy’s meal scanner I hit my 95g protein, but I’m a little sceptical. I’m adamant I’m not going down the processed protein route. I have a big bowl of Greek Yogurt and berries with tons of seeds in it for breakfast. A flat white mid morning. A big leafy salad for lunch, again laced with seeds (I poop granola bars!) and with either crumbled feta, mozzarella balls or halloumi mixed in. Sometimes I have hummus and carrot sticks too. Evening meal is usually a ratatouille on brown pasta with melted cheese on top, or a veg and chickpea curry with brown rice, or a three bean and lentil chilli with brown rice. Sometimes an omelette with feta. Then I usually have grapes with Greek yogurt in the evening. Occasionally I have a second flat white.
I don’t count the calories but I seem to have a mix of food groups and it seems healthy. I’m getting reasonable losses so far.🤞.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 27/06/2025 16:45

Omg @AlicesMum2025 and @Gingercar your posts made my stomach rumble. A bit different to my approach, I go heavy on the fish and then I seem to eat the same four or five meals over and over. Putting together an online shop now, heavy on the vegetarian and frozen fruit angle. Might do a few days in the life of a veggie next week.

@GeraniumRoseblush Congratulations! Great loss!

Happy Birthday @Gingercar

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Aldi has the best selection of frozen fruit and protein yoghurts IMO

Gingercar · 27/06/2025 22:18

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I haven’t even had any cake! 😃

HKG · 27/06/2025 22:30

potential over share here but had my second 5mg jab on Wednesday and the D&V is back in the last hour with a vengeance! I thought I had got away with it as didn’t have any last week after the first 5mg. I can’t believe it! Send help! And keep your fingers crossed for me that it won’t last through the night!

Pennydoenstwhistle · 27/06/2025 22:47

Happy Birthday @Gingercar

Seahorsesplendour · 28/06/2025 07:22

@HKG oh no!! Sending hugs & hope it settles quickly & you managed to sleep!!!

ElsieJay · 28/06/2025 08:26

@Gingercar - belated birthday wishes for yesterday - well done on avoiding the cake !
Small virtual one here for you 🎂 xx
We’ll be having a few days with DD and DSiL and seeing DGS later 🥳 as he has a day pass from the army. Not much longer until his National Service ends, thank goodness.
Meze in restaurant tonight with DSiL’s family, which am looking forward to and will manage as best as I can, food-wise.
We’ll be away from the coast until next weekend, so am anticipating it being even hotter, but as a bonus WiFi will be better and I should be able to keep up with you all !
All being well ,will return in September, based in one coastal location so will bring MJ with me next time - don’t want all the stopping and starting palaver again 😱.
And DGD will be here then 🥳- we miss her by less than a week this time around ( Uni exams ).
Onwards !! ( not saying “downwards” as suspect I am doing the opposite …..🙄🙄).

SutekhsEars · 28/06/2025 08:35

I've lost 6.4kg, which I'm happy with. I'm a bit less happy with the thought that it's another 20kg to put me in the middle of the healthy BMI range. ☹️

Sallycinnamum · 28/06/2025 09:13

Morning all. Took 3.75mg last night and not feeling particularly great today. Quite nauseous and stomach is ominously rumbling.

Was supposed to be popping into town with DH but not sure it's the wisest idea!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 28/06/2025 09:17

WK8D2 Weigh-in.

SW: 17 Stone 2lbs / 240lbs
CW: 15 Stone 8lbs / 218lbs

-2lbs this week, total lost 22lbs in 7 weeks.
Expecting a zero loss next week as I'm due on.

@HKG You poor thing, I really hope it was shortlived!

dizzyupthegirl86 · 28/06/2025 09:39

I weighed in at 221.8 this morning, so I’ve hit the one stone mark now, I’m so pleased!
my ‘official’ weigh day is tomorrow and will also be the six week mark then so I’m hoping the scales stay there (or lower)!

TreesOfGreen99 · 28/06/2025 09:43

@HKG hope you’re feeling better this morning and managed to get some rest last night.
@Gingercar belated happy birthday 🌻

@Sallycinnamum sorry you’re feeling rough. Hope it settles quickly for you.

I was concerned about increasing the dose (got myself in a right panic when I started), so I’ve opted for 3.25 (39 clicks of a 5pen if I calculated correctly). Suppression has been more noticeable - but not to the point of not eating, and only SE has been I’ve been very tired - but am also getting over a physically tiring time last week and am on a 3 day course of antibiotics, so it’s difficult to know which is causing the tiredness.

Mounjour · 28/06/2025 09:44

Lovely to read about the progress! 🎉🎉 One pound at a time...

Apprenante · 28/06/2025 10:14

@HKG I hope everything has calmed down this morning?
@ElsieMay great to hear from you. How lovely to catch up with most, if not all, of your family. Stay as cool as you can!
@Sallycinnamum I think staying at home is a good idea. It's too warm to go out - and if it's not now it will be later!

I'm finding on 3.75 that I'm very tired on day 1 each time. Is that the same for others? I need to plan quieter days for the beginning of each week.

Well done to all of us. Not quite two months since we started and look how well we're all doing. Sticking with the process despite side effects and mini plateaus.

Sallycinnamum · 28/06/2025 10:43

Thanks all. Feeling slightly more human after having something small to eat but I'm so tired.

Felt the same after my first ever jab so I'll just have to ride it out.

Luckily I didn't have much planned for today so can take it easy.

Really in a dilemma as to whether to order a fourth pen. I was going to stop at 3 but now wondering whether it's worth one more pen to get myself under 10 stone to give me some more wriggle room once I stop altogether.

Mind you I simply can't imagine being in the 9s!

Mounjour · 28/06/2025 10:50

@Apprenante yep, feel really tired on Fridays after jabbing Thursday evenings. I have a quiet day at work on Fridays and if that were to change I think I'd move my jab day.

I have been losing 1lb a week recently and thinking I might try for a 2lb week. I don't have any social events planned in this week, so it seems like a good opportunity. I might swap my salad for a wrap or a cold pasta dish though because I am sooooo bored of salads.

It’s funny, I was saying the other day how much easier it is to eat well in the summer - I can understand why people start diets in January, but it’s been such a relevation starting in the nicer months!
I’m really enjoying taco bowls lately. It is essentially a salad though!

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 28/06/2025 11:03

Morning losers! Very excited this morning as I’m down to 10 stone 6 which means a total loss of 1 stone and 12lb!
Feeling very nauseous. Worse after I eat. Also so tired especially the few days after jab day, which is disappointing as I felt amazing on the low dose!
because of this I’m staying on 5mg for my next pen. Am hopeful that I’ll be at my goal weight after that so I’ll do another 2.5mg after that and see what the situation is.

Morning y’all!

Well done on losses everyone and happy birthday for yesterday @Gingercar !

Now serious business gang. My old scales finally broke!!! I’ve ordered new ones due to arrive today for weigh in tomorrow. But NEW SCALES!! 🤯😱🫣 What if my old ones were totally duff? And I’m miles further back? Urgh! Please send the weight loss fairy with her positive thoughts my way 🙏

lissie123 · 28/06/2025 11:31

Just catching up with the thread. It’s so busy!
On holiday last week and this week coming so delayed my jab until late last night because I was concerned about 30 degree heat and judgmental people in my holiday group. Off again now and will delay my jab again by a day next week for the same reasons. Food on hols hasn’t been too difficult to navigate but mostly stayed off the booze- had a couple of small beers.
SW 13’3
CW 11”11 ( haven’t weighed this week due to hols so might have a gain next week)
Have a good week losers 😊
